First time to Zante, weather was different. Not quite what we had expected, thunderstorms were spectacular though.
Kostas, Tassia, Dimitri & staff all worked very hard to ensure everything went smoothly. Yes they did keep an eye on the younger ones coming back late at night, but this was to protect the peace and quiet for other guests. Not that we heard any noise at night.
Resort of Laganas is geared for 18-30 holidays so if you don't like loud club music or karaoke you will struggle to find entertainment. In the Tassia you could watch television until you were blue in the face! Films, FOOTBALL!!, Only Fools & Horses etc. Not quite what I had hoped for, I can watch TV for 50 weeks a year, but I don't really want to watch it whilst on holiday.
To go into Laganas from the Tassia would take approx. 30 -40 minutes walk (dark road no pavements) or a taxi at 5 euros each way. Some very good restaurants in the resort, Akropolis was one of the best, we went 5 times in two weeks. Also Rubies for Chinese or Indian was good. Snacks at Tassia were also very good.
Kostas did put on a Greek night for us, this was a good night until three young ladies from apartments over the road decided to join in! They ended up taking over the whole night and spoiling it for others. They were drinking like it was going out of fashion and got louder and louder. I am not against others enjoying themselves but there is a limit to what you can stand. They were vulgar and crude to say the least. We paid for our evening, they didn't, they were like three Prima Donnas looking for attention, (grow up girls the world does not revolve around you) Kostas tried to cool them down by throwing them in the pool, sadly this only made them squeal louder!! AGGHHH!!!. It also gave Tassia more work to do as she had to follow them around with a mop trying to keep the floor dry in case anyone fell.
We met some great people whilst we were there and that is what a good holiday is all about. Too many names to mention, but HI everyone, thanks for your company. But I have to mention wee Dillan, he was a star. He was just coming up for two and he toddled about the whole time, he was always smiling. So Hi Dillan, miss you xxx.
Pity Tassia studios was not in Tsilivi as that is where our next holiday is likely to be. But we will pop in and see you Kostas. Many thanks for making our holiday enjoyable. Bob & Dianne (Roberta!!)xx
We have just returned from a fabulous two week holiday at Daisy Apts. After reading previous reports we were unsure as to what to expect. How wrong we were to worry. It was great. Ted and Tony went out of there way to help you. Thanks guys. The apartments were basic but cleaned on a regular basis by the hard working team of cleaners. The only comment I would make about the family is that they need to get together and select two people to manage the apartments and for the rest to stay in the background after all too many cooks spoil the broth!!
The walk into the resort was only about 5 minutes stroll and you get escorted by a four legged traffic cop!! in the form of a black dog. He chases all the cars he believes are going too fast! Scary first time we saw this but he was protecting us!!
Nice restaurant to try is Manos Grill, freshly cooked food served by very friendly staff. Also Koukos restaurant on a Wednesday or Sunday night for Greek night is great fun.
We met a lot of great people there during our stay 29 Aug - 12 Sept. Hi to you all and thanks for a fantastic holiday. It was great to meet you all. A special hello to Ian & Carol, Lisa, David & Ellie, Val & John and Adam, Lisa & Wee Addison (you were fab wee man) and also to Lisa'a parents celebrating their Ruby Wedding, congratulations.
We are already looking at booking for next year at the Daisy so see you in 2005 folks. Can't wait.
This was a total waste of time. It cost 17 Euros each to get in. Our first impression was not good - the water looked cloudy and lots of debris in the bottom of the pools. The only place to eat was a fast food bar - very expensive and food was very poor quality. Whilst we were sitting by the main pool a Greek family were swimming with their two younger children, when the little boy started to be sick in the pool, his mother took him to the side and let him continue to be sick in the drainage area at the edge!! Not appealing at all! His father got a bottle of water and washed the mess back into the POOL!!! This was enough for us WE LEFT! We had only been there a couple of hours!!
I think tour operators need to assess this attraction very carefully as it is not worth going to at all. After all if they allow people to be sick in the water what else do they turn a blind eye too!!!!!
Very good standard of food from this restaurant. We ate there a couple of times and the standard of service was fantastic. The presentaion of food was spectacular. The owner was a cheery and friendly person who cared about you and did not rush you to eat up and move on. Time was never an issue.
If you like Chinese/Thai food you will love the Golden Lion. We are in the process of booking our holiday to Tsilivi for next year and we will definately be going back to eat here.
Please do not be put off by negative comments. We were apprehensive due to some earlier comments, but they were all soon put to rest. We had a fabulous time at Daisy apts. If you show respect you get respect. All it takes is a friendly greeting and you will find the family will acknowledge you. This is your HOLIDAY... relax and enjoy it. Don't listen to others, do it your way.
We enjoyed it so much we have booked to go back again this year and we can't wait.
Really looking forward to seeing everyone again.
We had a fabulous holiday at the Daisy last year and met some wonderful friends. So much so we are all heading back at the end of August and taking along a few more friends!!!!
Some rooms have Safety deposit boxes, but not all. Unsure if anymore in Reception. We took all Euros as got them from Post Office NO COMMISSION.
We didn't really buy that much. Except for leather belts etc to bring back. Although some lovely jewellery. Better to haggle for jewellery though. There is aslo a shop that sells pottery animals!!!! worth a look as they are hilarious. Bit like bad taste bears!!!!!!!
What Nationality is he? Is he on during the day or at night? Why did the rep not do something about him?
Message for Natalie
We also love Daisy apartments. They are spotless and staff are very friendly.
HI Karen
Where is Great Dane restaurant. Sounds interesting? Although I prefer to try Greek food.
Weather is lovely in early September. But take a cardigan or similar as it can get cool at night. Last September there was a couple of nights when it got really cold when we were out for our meal. So maybe even take a fleece jacket.
Please do not worry about your holiday. We are also arriving on 28th August and we are all looking forward to it VERY much. We stayed at the Daisy last year and had a great time.
Just back after two fantastic weeks at Daisy. We could not fault it at all. It was even better when we arrived as there was so many of us back again from last year. From the very start of out two weeks everyone was warm and friendly. The atmosphere was brilliant.
What a fantastic bar to visit. We went on our third night and never went anywhere else after that. We partied every night and had a ball.
Bill was funny and harmless to wards us. Although he did tell us few tales of what he gets up to. But throughout our holiday he was fantastic and I would not give him anything but a gold star.
We went one evening for an early evening meal so we could watch the sunset over Tsilivi beach. We were not dissapointed. The view was breathtaking. Well worth the visit.
Agree with earlier comments... all that way for English food!!!!! But Oh Boy was it worth it. Yes I hear people saying, When in a foreign country you should expect to eat their food but......
Our thoughts are with you all at your sad loss. We were told about Yvonne by the lady who runs the Golden Lion. We were shocked to hear the news as we thought Yvonne had been doing so well.
Well we came home on the 18th May after spending a fantastic week with Yannis,Thespina, Illias and Andreas. The new bar is so much bigger than the previous one and they are also doing breakfasts and snacks. Which are superb.
Our room was very tired and run down. The wardrobe door was broken but as we were only there for 1 week we decided to stay put. The room was facing the main road and I thought we would not get any sleep because of the traffic noise. How wrong I was, once the doors were closed it was fine.
Once again we visited this delight of a restaurant. They have taken on a new chef this season and the food was delicious.
As in previous reports you are not rushed which makes it a nice relaxing atmosphere. A perfect way to relax and enjoy delicious food.
You will not be disappointed, yes it might be a bit more expensive than some of the normal restaurants but it is so worth it.
once again we were not dissapointed. This is the third year running we have visited Manos Grill and we will be back for more.
What can I say... I don't like drinking tea or coffee whilst I am away as I don't like the milk they use. However I was feeling really yukky withthe cold in May and we were out for a walk. We decided to go into Popeyes for a breakfast. I ordered Continental as I wasn't hungry. When I noticed on the menu low fat milk!!!! I asked for some for my tea and WOW!!!! I really enjoyed it and the staff were really friendly. My husband had a full english and he struggled to finish it..(but he did!!!!) He said it was delicious. So Popeyes is a must for a breakfast.
We ate here twice in the week we were there in May. Friendly and polite staff ensured your meal was enjoyable.
Can anyone tell me the location of these apartments? Thinking of going late September.
Hiya Rachel
Hi
Surely you are not going all the way to the beautiful Greek Island of Zante to go to McDonalds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
