We went to Reportage Bar the first night we arrived in Zante and went there every night after. The bar staff were really friendly and got free shots with every round we bought. The music would suit everyone. It is really worth a visit. What more could you want great music and loads to drink and then straight across the road to Popeye's for food and then back to Reportage until the early hours!!!
Basically it is a greek version of a fast food place. The food was nice, hubby had chicken in pitta and I tried the pork platter, it came on a wooden serving plate with chips and pork with the pitta bread cut up for you there were also some dips so you made up your own gyros. This was the only place we tried for the gyros so we can't really compare it to other places but we enjoyed it.
We have to go against recent comments and say we really enjoyed it here. We enjoyed it so much we went more than once. The staff were all lovely and the service was great. The only fault I would say is the starters were very small, I know that for starters you dont want a massive plate full but you could of done with a bit more, I tried the chicken tikka starter once and then chicken pakora. For the main meal I had chicken jalfrezi which was fantastic both times. My other half had duck from the chinese menu (yes they do a chinese and indian menu's) which he really enjoyed to.
Just to let you Mcdonalds was still shut...apparently it is up for sale!
Read all the great comments from this web site about popeyes so we had to try it and we were not disappointed. We went there on more than one occasion and found this was the best. Seeing as we sat across the road from popeyes in the reportage bar you could see it was packed full every night, all night not just when we were in. The great thing that shows you that this is a great place is they didn't need anyone standing on the street harrassing visitors to go in and eat unlike other restuarants. You had to wait longer for the food than other restaurants but that is very understandable due to the high amount of people they serve and you didn't mind as the food was very good. Try the potato skins acupulco style and the steak was just the best! The waiters were very nice, have to mention "Andrew" and also after reading this web site again I think it must of been "Dennis" who came and showed his baby son to everyone. We would highly recomend you try popeyes.
Our rep at the Santy Maria in Tsillivi was Lindsey. She seemed a really nice girl. The airline Excel were brilliant, the crew were very nice and polite and the food was not bad either.
The accomodation was very good. We were very pleased with it as the rooms were very clean and tidy. The location was spot on too. The beach was about 10 minutes walk away and a little longer to the main street. For all you fellow ladies who's feet hurt after a night on the tiles like me!! a taxi costs 5 euro's and only takes a couple of minutes. For through the day you have all the privacy you need as there is only one other apartment block nearby.
With regards to Mark Noble question about Travellers Cheques we had Euro travellers cheques and Spiros the owner of Santy Maria cashed all ours for us but at a charge of 4 Euro's at a time. As we have not had to use Euro travellers cheques before we are not sure the charge of 4 euros is good or bad. Hope this helps
Just returned from our 2nd visit to Sandy Maria. Just like last year we loved our stay. Spiro and Teena are so friendly. Enjoyed the BBQ nights. I can't fault anything with the apartments, snackbar etc
Hubby and I decided to give this restaurant a go during the last couple of nights of our holiday and we were not disappointed, well the only sadness was we wished we had gone in earlier as we would of been in a few times!
Is it me but has Gryoland moved location? It was certainly had a facelift and what a difference. Really enjoyed our platters and excellently priced
What can I say? but Popeyes is brilliant. Fantastic food and great staff you can't want more.
I enjoyed the buffet could have something to do that everything they had on was stuff I liked. Only fault was that the food could of been warmer
