Ice creams are difficult to find as the freezers are being turned off. That's the only problem we had. A bit of rain on a couple of days, but the sea was warm. We didn't find it was cold like other Greek islands can be at this time of year.

We also stayed in Villa Thea. Excellent but basic. Direct Greece have been helpful both times we have used them. I like being able to phone them and ask people who have actually stayed in the resorts and know the accomodation.

Very friendly and quiet. A good place to sit for a drink after dinner or early evening. It's still got the excellent loo I remember from when it was a little shop.

I hated the idea of flying Airtours as I had heard such bad comment. But it was excellent! The 18 hour (5.10 pm to 11am) delay wasn't too bad, I enjoyed the extra night and the hotel in Argassi, I know others may think a computer out of action is nothing, but I don't want to fly with the flaps lacking the control they need! It would have been nice if the promised letter detailing the delay had been sent.

We loved it. The kids are 5 and 7, one of their highlights was the loud BANG from the exhaust every time the Land Rover stopped! We've hired a car and explored off the beaten track before, but this trip took us to the places we found too hard to find. Thanks for a wonderful day.

Just back from Zakynthos with Direct Greece. The reps (Hilary and Jenny) were excellent, the accomodation (Aklithea) was wonderfully situated and there was always someone available if we needed help.

We went with Direct Greece. Jenny made a huge effort to look after us. The hotel was hot in the public rooms (Zante Beach?) but had good air conditioning in the bedrooms. The kids woke up in the morning and were very disappointed that they had to go home. I was very surprised that Airtours made no attempt to apologise at all, the pilot was very good, but no free drink, no letter or anything was very crappy.

I had forgotten how relaxing this beach is. It's lovely for small kids and an excellent place to learn to snorkel, with some interesting fish on the rock beach protection. The shop in the village behind is open all day, so is the Shoestring above. The little ouzerie on the road up to it (Palazzo) is also extremely relaxing and convenient in that area.
