First Choice - (Tour Operators in Zante)

Laura S  (23 October 2006)

Don't trust what they say about the excursions, of course they are going to say it is great - that's their job!

If you go at anytime other than peak season, you don't get much and when you complain they just say, 'But it's the end of the season, what do you expect?'  I expect my money's worth!!!

They will blag you to tick the 'excellant' box about themselves as a rep and blatantly encourage you to do so by saying you are more likely to win £1500 in a competion if you do! Unbelievable!

Very irratating indeed.

Argassi Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Laura S

I couldn't comment on what it may be like in the summer as I know it will be very different to when we went right at the end of the season in October.

We are a young couple but we wanted a peacefull holiday and that is what we got.  You will find a lot of places closed or closing at this time of year but there are still lots of fantastic places to eat.  Other than that you may be a bit stuck.  The only bar worth going to every night is The Beer Academy and although it does not sound very Greek it has great ambience and a great service.

If you enjoy chilling by the pool or beach to top up your tan and doing a little light souvenir shopping, having a few cocktails and great food along the way then you'll love Argassi.

Beer Academy - (Bars in Argassi)

Laura S

Just arrived back from a brill hol and I think me and boyfriend must have gone to The Beer Acedemy almost every night!

Great ambience, fab music, cocktails and by far and away the friendliest staff.  Lots of thanks to Emma and the other male waiter (sorry we didn't get your name!) for making us feel welcome.

Maybe see you again one year, thanks guys,

Laura & Bill.

Rossis Place - (Bars in Argassi)

Laura S  (23 October 2006)

dark, small and dingy compared to the beer academy next door, also more expensive.

i got laughed at for ordering a hot chocolate on a cold night...well why put it on your menu if your going to be so far up your own a**e that you laugh at your customer but still take thier money!  i was then continually stared at by what seems to me to be old p**vy men that worked there at the bar.

don't recall any decent music being played and that was our first and last drink there.

October - (Best Time to Visit)

Laura S

We had a good time but don't go if you want lots of busy bars coz it aint happening in October!

Very peacefull but good sun during day, maybe a bit cold and windy at night.

Dora Studios - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Laura S

I don't understand people posting great stuff about the bar in October when it wasn't open once!  The sign said 9 till 1am but you had to go and knock on their home front door if you wanted to order a drink, we knocked for 2 hrs and do you think we got 1?

The cleaner is extremely rude - you do not need to speak English to smile at someone!  Many people complained that their towels and sheets were not cleaned regularly enough at all.

When they call it a studio apartment they really mean it!  Our 'kitchen' was our hall way, honestly!  It consisted of 2 hob rings, 2 plates and 2 bowls (they werent even cereal bowls, 1 was a salad bowl and the other was a pasta dish!) and 1 tempremental kettal.  Quite ridiculous to cook for 2 weeks I can asure you!

It was however, a pleasent area and nice pool, well located too.

One more thing, why hasn't some whizz in Greece invented a hook that attaches the shower head to the wall so you don't have to wrestle with it and hold it up when you shower?  We are in the 21st century aren't we....

Mouse House - (Other Things in Argassi)

Friendly staff, helpful.  Well priced internet but don't go for choice of food... how can you stop doing sandwiches but still offer toasted sandwiches?!
