Brilliant!!! had english & irish breakfasts & yoghurt, honey&nuts and would definitely recommend all especially the coffee (nes & greek). The staff were brilliant, not too pushy but very friendly & the service was very good. We went in at 11pm on the night we arrived (6th october) & the cheeseburger meal was nice, just what we needed with a couple of beers after unpacking & dashing out!!!!
We ate twice here between 6th-13th October & both times found everything excellent. The staff were very friendly if a little pushy although nothing like some places & it was very quiet at night in all the restaurants & bars. The food was brilliant both times. On our second visit we had seabass & it was perfect!! The starters & desserts were brilliant also.Overall there was nothing to criticise& this was the only restaurant we went to twice. It was certainly the best we visited all week & seems to have improved since we were last in Argassi. We will definitely keep returning, especially as Dennis remembered us from our last visit in 2004!!!!
We stayed here 6th-13th October in the studios & apart from the loud woman next door found it to be very good (in fact we may book for next June) The studio was very clean with the usual Greek facilities!! It even had a showerscreen!!! The aircon (35 euros) was very useful as we could close the doors at night (it was warm ) & keep some of the neighbours noise out early morning!!!!! The hotel was quiet this late in the season & the pool bar closed early. Would definitely advise booking late checkout room (30 euros) if you have a late return flight as although they have a "courtesy room" you only have it for 30mins & you have to pre book it, we heard a few people complaining that it wasn't long enough etc so why spoil the end of your holiday for £20. Overall we were very pleased with our experience at Katerina Palace & would definitely recommend it
We stayed here 6th-13th july & although the room itself was ok we were not impressed with the overall experience. When we arrived the room smelt stale although this went after leaving the doors open for a while. We were in room 7 & the balcony of the room opposite at right angle to ours was about 3ft away with an unobstructed view into our room which meant keeping the door closed for privacy, this was unacceptable as the ceiling fan (10 euros per week) was totally inadequate in the heat!! The studios are at the top of a very steep short drive & the entrance onto the road is very dodgy as it is close to 2 bends in the road & there is no footpath. Trying to get out in a car to go towards town is dangerous due to the angle & poor visibilty. The lack of footpaths on this section of what can be a pretty busy road makes it unsafe when walking back from town at night with cars & trucks sometimes coming very close on the bends!!! They are on the very edge of town about 10-15 min walk from the centre. Although the rooms are basic they have everything you need & are typical of what you would expect at the price. Because of their location I would definitely not recommend these to anyone with young children.
After 4 previous visits to Argassi we "found " Dimitrios. It's located on the beach down a lane between "Sajnas"" indian/chinese restaurant &" After " snack bar by Remezzos. The bar is perfectly placed around the pool with free sunbeds & umbrellas (we didn't feel any pressure to buy food or drink athough obviously you're not allowed to take your own) .The pool was clean & good sized, with showers, changing rooms & toilets, all were very clean & tidy. We went 3 times, mid-morning, chose out sunbeds then had a full breakfast in the dining area. Each time the food was very good & hot, probably the best breakfast in town & if you want a midday snack they do the tastiest burgers we had in Argassi!!
We went here on our last but one night in Argassi & wish we tried it earlier. It's at the Palmyra hotel but on a terrace overlooking the street. The food was excellent, the chef Mikey knows his stuff!! The service was very good, especially Simon. I had the fisherman's plate to start followed by the mixed grill & both were perfect. Give it a try, you won't regret it (just don't pay too much attention to the guy at the entrance)
We went in for a meal during our week 6th-13th July. Compared to visits in previous years we were disappointed. Both the food & service were ok but nowhere near as good as in the past, certainly nothing special It appears the chef & some of the staff have moved around the corner!! All in all not bad but not too good & nowhere near as good as last October
We knew what to expect from the accomodation having been to Argassi since 2000 (twice a year some years) We had no problems with the owners or the complex other than the close proximity of other balconies to our studio. Our main problem was the location on the outskirts of town in the middle of an S bend & the lack of footpaths on the narrow, busy road when walking back late at night/ early morning after being in the bars/restaurants most of the night (& no doubt so had a lot of the drivers) We felt so uncomfortable with this that we actually left the studios 1/2 way through our stay & booked into more suitable accomodation in what we thought was a safer location with less chance of being run down by the passing tankers etc (had Thomsons description been a bit more accurate we wouldn't have booked there in the first place, although we have booked other accomodation in Argassi with them for next year)
Returned again this year & it was like going to an old friend's. We were welcomed like family by Dennis!! The service we had was first rate & the quality of the food was excellent on both occasions, the saganaki cheese starter was very good & the fish really was the best we have had in Argassi We really can't praise premier too much & we'll certainly eat there next time. We've said it all in our previous reviews
A great family friendly place. There's not a bad thing to say about the pool, the bar, the staff or the service & food etc. the pool was always clean & safe, there is a small fenced off toddler's pool & we were impressed by the overall cleanliness of the toilets & showers etc. It was the only pool in Argassi that I saw notices asking you to shower before using the pool ( a very good idea) We were so impressed that when we go to Argassi next year with our 5year old grandson we will have no hesitation about spending a lot of time here
Returned from Argassi again last week. Spent most of our days here at Dimitrios. This time we were with our son & 5yearold grandson who loves the place & absolutely adores Lorenzo, he keeps saying he misses him. The pool area is spotless as usual, the food & drink excellent & the atmosphere brilliant. We went to the barbecue on Sunday & it was very good (€10 adults,€5 kids) although Lorenzo isn't working evenings this year There's a bit of rubbish on the beach next to Dimitrios but not piles & you can't see it from the sunbeds so don't let anything you might read about it put you off. We'll certainly be back when we return later in the year
Just got back from Argassi. We only managed to get to Premier once this time & again we were greeted like old friends by Dennis. The food was excellent & the service brilliant (don't think we get special treatment although we have been going here for 8years, it was the first place we tried on the first night of our first visit) The place was busy every time we passed, although we usually ate earlier as we had a 5yearold with us this time. It was busy on the night we went in but Dennis still made time to chat with us & the staff took time with everyone. Now that the Big Plate has closed Yianni is back here also. We have eaten here on numerous occasions every year & can honestly say we have never been disappointed, & it was certainly the best meal we had in Argassi this year again. I would definitely recommend a visit
Ate here 1 night last week (missed the Greek night) & it was very good, a bit quiet but then so were most places. We had the mixed grill for 2 & what a plate full!! The food & service were very good & I would dfinitely recommend it
Was in Argassi last week & it looks like Poseidon has closed down
Went in Oceanic last week & was so impressed we travelled over from Argassi 3 times to see Kev. The service is brilliant & the atmosphere very nice, no tv or loud music etc just a nice relaxing place with what must be the most comfortable seats in any bar on the island. Very good & definitely worth a try, you'll want to go back. We will when we go back later in the year
Can't wait to chill in Oceanic when we go back in August
Can't wait to relax here when we return to Argassi next month, for 2 weeks this time
The Big Plate was closed & up for sale in june
Well what can I say
The best gyros pitta in town & open 24/7 so great for a quick late night snack.
Went here twice during our stay 22/8to 5/9 & both times were very good.
We ate in here twice during our stay & enjoyed our meals both times. the food was not the best we have had but was nice enough & reasonably priced. The service was good & friendly. I don't really see why everyone seems to be bothered about Peter, Ok he's a bit pushy but so are a lot of others & I certainly didn't find him rude or offensive. He's trying to get you into his place & if you're Ok with him, just be polite & tell him not tonight I've never had any problems with him & he always recognises us & speaks even though we don't always eat there on our visits to Argassi
This place must be good
An excellent chilled out bar with an extremely friendly, laid back atmosphere & very good drinks.
Oceanic is on our must visit list every time we go to Zante (& we always stay in Argassi )
Kev is a brilliant host who can't do enough for his customers (who soon become friends) & his list of cocktails is very impressive, & they taste very good too with the real ingredients. If there's anything you want that he hasn't got he will nip out for it & nothing is too much trouble.
Definitely a place you must try once & you'll be back. I know we will when we're back in Argassi next May, it'll keep the taxis busy
After having several good meals here in previous visits to Argassi it was sad to see the place had closed last week & is unlikely to re-open as the stairs have been removed & the downstairs area is now occupied by a scooter hire company
Sad to say Erato was closed last week, don't know whether it will re-open later but it doesn't look likely
Apparently they are opening in JulyAte here 3 times 22/5-5/6 & every meal was always excellent as usual with the usual brilliant service. Unfortunately there were no Greek nights on this time (it was quiet in Argassi & they may put them on later in the season). The food here is always the best we've had in town
Returned again to see Dennis, it was like we'd never been away. Every meal we had was very good,as was the service, we had no comlaints whatsoever. We had a wide selection of different types of food although we have never tried a pizza in here Can't really add much more, I've said it all in previous posts, it's definitely 1 of the best places in town
Great to see Illias & Leo again last week
After several attempts in previous years we finally managed to get in this time. It was late night & a lot of the menu had been sold out so we both had stuffed pork off the spit. It was lovely, the service was brilliant, I now know what we've been missong & can see why everyone raves about the place. We'll certainly be going again, hopefully soon
Spent a few great nights in here end May/early June. The live music was great especially "Karl Lewis" The atmosphere was brilliant & "Nickos" & his mate on the door were great
Well don't know whats happened here, just got back & the place isn't the same, only went in once.
Hi Leo. How are you, hope you're well.
