Palazzo di Zante Hotel

Accommodation in Vassilikos

The hotel itself was excellent, although I do not feel our room was up to the 4* it was given by Thomson.  Our wallpaper was hanging off the walls and the bathroom was basic to say the least.  The food was excellent although it did get a bit samey after a while.  On the whole the staff were very pleasant.  I did notice however that the waiters were quite miserable as most of the guests were 'All inclusive'.  If however they noticed someone without the gorgeous green arm band, they homed in on them and were extremely helpful, I would imagine this is because they felt they might be receive a tip.

My main criticism is that the resort is very remote.  The hotel did have a free bus to Zante town, but this only did one collection from Zante town and would mean hanging around all day.  Not much fun when most of the shops close all afternoon.

On the whole though it was a great holiday, and if you want a nice quite out of the way resort, this is for you.

how much would it cost to upgrade from half board to all inclusive? regards

this was the best holiday i have ever been to and i would recommend it to anyone the palazzio was an excellent hotel with great service as a 15 year old the entertainment was sometimes aimed at the younger children, but was interesting to watch.
the interior of the hotelwas very glamourous and a beautiful place to be in. the complex has two other hotels which alsolive upto their standards with brilliant pools to add and when you go all inclusive like i did you can have snacks when ever you want, free ice creams etc.
the excellent beach has the best water sports available r4anging from the banana boat to the ringos to the parasailing, all of which i enjoyed and the prices were very reasonable. if youare all inclusive you get to take the pedlos out for half an hour all included.

Please can some one give me a rough idea how much it will cost to upgrade to fully inclusive from half board at he louis palazzio.
Thank you

For a Thomson Gold Hotel, I was a little disappointed with the room, it just looked a little tired with a lack of storage space. Having said that the rest of the hotel was excellent with good food and entertainment. We went in late Sept. and the pool was freezing, although once you got used to the temperature it was OK. Local beaches were very good also. A little bit isolated down there but if you are looking for a get away from it all holiday, highly recommended.

For a 4 star rated hotel it was below par. we booked a supposedly SUPERIOR room. The decor was poor and there was little storage space. Just one wardrobe with two small draws. The bathroom flooded everytime we removed the plug from either the sink or the bath. Having said that the public areas were OK and the food was excellent. The waiters being very friendly.

Food and rooms, poor.Hotel public areas, very classy. The Vassilikos area is excellent, beautiful beaches and scenic walks, the best beach being St Nick's.The evening entertainment, provided by the Thomson Team ,was very good. The Hotel is isolated so be prepared to walk a lot ,or hire a car.

i dont know why this hotel has 4/10 and the royal palace has a higher score;this hotel was far superior than the imperial or the royal, being the other 2 hotels in this 3 hotel group

Tessa B

al la carte is offered once a week but we only took the option once as the buffet dinner was so good for choice, salad bar to start, then soup, then buffet of 4 meats(one sort being carved) fish lots of different veggies and lots of different fruits and the lovely sweet greek desserts. breakfast is cereals, fruit, cooked bacon, eggs(different ways) sausage mushroom tomatoes then lots of different breads and fruit juice and teas and coffee in different forms. 3 hotels here on the cliff, no shops near by . this hotel is the best the imperial is full of children and noisy and the royal is okay but by far the best is this hotel.

wonderful hotel. buffet meals, huge choice, 4course dinners and 3 course cooked breakfasts. all laid out round a canal. excellent entertainment with thomsons gold team and acts flown in from the uk. 90%british, no children. walk to gerakas beach, 25mins, were the turtles lay their eggs. hotel beach 5min walk or by hotel lift. friendliest waiters and staff. towels at reception. lots of tours, cafolonia by ferry, but car hire best, visit the wonderful dafni beach and banana beach. you will have a wonderful time .

My future sister-in-law may be the rep there for Thomson this Summer. I am out in Zante for her wedding to my brother (who presently works in Laganas, but will be working in Vassilikos from May). Will find out what I can and come back to you Andy.
