hi me and my boyfriend phil came back from zante on the 23rd of august04 and we stayed at the hotel eleana and it was fantastic it was my first hoilday away and being there was great the pepole were freindly.the pepole who stayed at the hotel with us were great too and the staff Iwant 2 say a big scottish hello 2 angela and everyone else there and to (annemarie mark greame Linsay paul leeanne and robert maureen)If they read this.thanks 4 making my first hoilday a good one and a special thanks 2 phil. from mairianne august 23rd 04
Just came back from a week in Zante, I would recommend this hotel and resort for any family regardless of your age, its got something for every one. Thomsons give this a 2* rate, but the other visitor that ive talked to would give it more, big time. Poolside bar is great for snacks, its true what you read about dorothys toasties, they are ace! You can hear a wee bit noise comming from other bars next door, nothing too excessive. The family that run the hotel are great,(very friendly and welcoming). The food in the town is great, Recommend the Nostalgia or Castaways Restaraunt, Keep away from tiffany's, providing you can get past the little annoying man(you'll see what i mean). The reps are great, tours are great, everything is GREAT.
We've just returned from this wonderful hotel and we're already planning to go back! It's in a great position near all the bars and restaurants, and run by a very friendly and welcoming family (hello to Angela who runs the bar!).
To answer a few questions posed below:
Breakfast is a bread roll with either cheese/ham or jam
You can rent a safety deposit box for 10 euros a week. They are situated behind the reception desk.
There is a bit of building work going on behind the hotel - not too noisy, although the workmen's singing does leave a lot to be desired! Only once did we see a bit of dust by the pool - I'd say not to worry about it.
All of you that are off to the Eleana, enjoy yourselves, you lucky people!

Hi I'm going on 13 september too :o)
IM GOING TO THE HOTEL IN OCTOBER. COULD ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE BREAKFAST CONSISTS OF BECAUSE IM FUNNY WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD BUT IM WILLING TO GIVE IT A GO. PLEASE GET BACK TO ME
I have booked a holiday to eleana hotel for this october comming. I have received a letter off Thomson informing me that there is work going on right next to the hotel. The work will only go on between 8 and 2 because of greek laws for working. There will be noise and dust levels from low to moderate. It also said in the letter that if my partner and myself had requested a pool view we would be overlooking the work site. However, it said that the hotelier would try their best not to place us on pool view if that what we request. It doesnt sound that bad. The only thing it may spoil is time around the pool. I went to the Eleana Hotel in October and have booked to go back there again this October, but i have recently heard that there is building work going on outside the hotel is it alot as i have asthma and am quite worried? Oh and is Dana, George, Helen and Angie still there?
Can anyone help???
hi beki. no they don't have a kettle or toaster etc in the rooms. This is the norm in greece as it is a hotel and not apartments.
Going to the Eleana apartments soon, does n e 1 kno if you get a kettle/toaster etc in your room???
We loved the Hotel and the very friendly staff, who were always willing to help. The room was excellent (especially with air-con)and it was clean.
It is just a short walk from the beach and supermarket.
We would recommend to anyone.
Thanks
Well as with the expected post-holiday blues, me and my friend Beena have returned home after a truly lovely holiday in Zakynthos, made all the more enjoyable by our stay at Hotel Eleana. In all my time holidaying, I can honestly say that this hotel and its owners were the nicest, most friendly and entertaining place and people we have ever met. Gorgeous rooms, lovely pool and most of all warm, friendly hosts, I would recommend (as everyone already has) Hotel Eleana. Dana, George, Helen, Dorothy and Angela are an absolutely lovely group of people, who made us feel very welcome and at home and kept us entertained! Thanks for the chat over our 'lovely' portraits Helen & Dana, just before the coach came to pick us upon on Fri 2nd July! Helen - told you that everyone speaks so highly of you all - remember it - and hope you find some nice reading glasses!! Myself and Beena (the Optician who wanted to work for you as the 'Meeter Greeter'!) thank you for a great holiday and hope to see you again!
Helen & Beena x
Went to hotel eleana in august 2003 loved it so much we've booked for august 2004. Cant wait 2 meet helen angela n dorothy again. Goin straight to the pool bar 2 have a toastie! Hope we meet some more gr8 ppl like last time, the essex boys (loadsa bombing!) mel and stuart, and loads more! Lets hope we have a mad rep again! If ya goin around the 2nd august 4 2 weeks look out 4 me im the skinhead gooner, well av a beer!
Just back from a wonderful stay at the eleana (25th May) it was brilliant!! the hotel is very clean as are the rooms pool area etc, we took our 7 month old daughter with us and it was nice and quite and relaxed. The staff are excellant they really make you feel welcome. My little girl really took a shine to dorothy who runs the snack bar by the pool, Dorothy is really nice and she makes the best chicken salad. We were very sad to leave and didnt want to go home, will definatly go back to the eleana. It was a great holiday and the weather was scorchio.
This hotel was perfect whether you are going as family with kids, an elderly couple looking for a quiet time, or a group who dont want it too wild but still looking for a good time. The hotel was gorgeous, its a family run hotel, spotlessly clean (we had a bad experience in turkey the previous year). The daughters, Angela and Helen were just lovely, they couldn't do enough to make you welcome, and are so friendly. There are building works over the road, but really its like the other side of the street and didn't affect us at all. We barely heard it at all and were suprised to have heard that people have been receiving letters about it. I would recommend this hotel 100%. Across the street there is the Beer Academy and Snack Academy which is part of each other - and we had a few wild nights in there, but because it wasn't high season it was still fairly quiet, I would love to have been there in August or something like that. You need to go here to appreciate just how lovely it is. Zakynthos is a fairly new town, they are still building on it, and its gorgeous to see in its early stages. Also, take the boat ride, the tour is gorgeous, and quite relaxing too.
I have just been advised that there is building work adjacent to the hotel,I have 2 asthmatic members in our party so need to know if the dust levels are high and also how bad is the noise, and is it like staying on a building site.pls can someone help me?
i have been to the eleana twice now the first time i went i loved it so i decided to take all my family the next we came back in september 2003 from a brilliant 2 week holiday. george&dana were superb and so were dorothy, angie, and helen.

STAYED THERE FOR 1 WEEK, CAME BACK ON MONDAY 6TH OCTOBER. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS THAT I HAVE STAYED IN FOR A LONG TIME. THE HOTEL IS IDEALLY SITUATED IN THE CENTRE OF THE RESORT. IT HAS BY FAR THE CLEANEST POOL IN THE RESORT, THERE IS A FANTASTIC POOLSIDE SNACK BAR WHERE HELEN WORKS VERY HARD COOKING HER LOVELY TOASTIES, SALADS, OMLETTES. THE STAFF ARE SOME OF THE MOST FRIENDLY I HAVE EVER MET. EVEN WHEN COMING IN AT 4 IN THE MORNING THE NIGHT WATCHMAN WAS POLITE AND FRIENDLY. VICKI THE REP WAS A RIGHT MAD UN TOO VERY HELPFULL. ALL IN ALL AN EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY..........
Just got back from 2 weeks at the Eleana,(Brian,Jen,Dave and Andrea,North Wales, remember the quiz Helen,Norfolk and Chance)The hotel was excellant, spotless, good maid service, didn't disturb you too early, great pool with poolside bar,Dorothy made some great food and was fun.George and Dana are lovely people as are their daughters,Helen who runs the reception, thanks again for the change of room, and Angie who runs the bar.Nothing is to much trouble they are always willing to help.Vicki the rep was fabulous a mine of info.We all really enjoyed the holiday plenty of places to eat.The hotel is well worth a visit, excellantly run by a very nice family,I would recommend it to anyone.Thank you for making us feel welcome .

We were on holiday in Argassi for a week on 8 Aug and had a brilliant time - George and Dana made us feel at home and their hotel had everything to offer - location, cleaniness and a lush pool! We met a nice people aswell - including some funny essex lads who bought us a drink one night - thanks for that guys!! By the way, we have a picture of Gary with a towel round him!!! The nightlife was good, especially Avalon!! Highly recommended for a holiday xx
Big hello to everyone!
Had a brilliant holiday this summer at the Eleana. I came on holiday with my family for the second year running and it was just as good, if not better the second time around. Dorothy was on form as usual, as were Angela and Helen, and their mum and dad George and Dana. The maids do a brilliant job of tidying the rooms and not waking you up until lunch to get in. The weather was brilliant for two weeks bar the freak thunderstorm that we had, when a sand coloured river flew past the front steps of the hotel, umbrella blew into the pool and everyone stayed inside and played bingo organised by our rep Vicky!
The hawaian pool party that everybody worked so hard to organise was a wicked ending to our holiday.
A big hello to my welsh babes Nicola and Emma, and to those naughty essex boys Kev,Gary,Ross and Tony. All of you made sure that i had a very enjoyable and memorable holiday.
Very nice hotel, kept spotlessly clean.Staff were very friendly and also a nice size clean pool, and poolside bar run by Dorothy.I gather that they are having air con fitted to the room's this year which would be a very welcome addition. We will definately be going back to the Eleana in the near future.
Hi All,
Just got back from the Eleana on Monday 18th, best holiday I have had for ages, everyone there was lovely. Dorothy makes the best chicken rolls and Ang's inspired cocktails should not be missed. Vicki the rep is mad but great!!! Lovely weather we're having!!!!! Hotel was spotless and we never got locked out. Would definately go back.
Hi Everybody
Just a note to say this Hotel is the best Hotel on the island the family, George/ Dana/ Helena & my favorite Angela really make this a dream holiday. If anybody finds a problem here they are looking at a different hotel than I was.
You can see why I wanted my family to move to Zante its @Island of Dreams'
Bye
Hey! Got back home on monday and now i know what post-holiday depression feels like! We had such a great time! We met some damn fine Essex lads (am missing you guys so much!) and hung out with them and a girl and her brother from Bolton every night. The only down side was that my mates mum wouldnt let the lads in our room! The hotel was great. What did people think of the ham and cheese roles in the morning?!? We are so going back Next Year! (Hi Laura if your reading this)
Mad Welsh Lass!
Just back from a two week stay at the Eleana and it was one of the best holiday's we have ever had. There was four of us who went, two couple's all of us in our early twenty's and everyone had a ball. The hotel was excellent, very clean, lovely pool, great snack bar and great bar at night. The best thing about the hotel though was the family that run the hotel they were so friendly it was like they were family by the end of the holiday. Dana and George are great people and George is by no means miserable, great guy that keeps the pool spotless. Helen and Angie are his two daughters. Helen runs the reception and knows everthing you need to know about the area. She also like's to try and impersonate our accents which was funny. Angie runs the bar which shuts when the last person goes to bed, ask her for a vodka zulu brill. The rep Vikki is also a great laugh, she organised a great pool party and is great in the reps show. The Eleana is installing air con in the bedrooms next year and that is the only thing currently stopping the hotel being perfect, but if you can't stand the heat don't do Zante in July ha ha. We will be going back soon great hotel.
Just came back from Agasi, we had a brill holiday. The hotel Eleana was great, the pool was good and clean. The food was excellent too, especially Dorothy's Chicken Fillet with Pita Bread, delicious. The family that ran the hotel were fantastic and funny, especially Dana who was a laugh.
The rep at the Eleana Vicki was fab and very helpful and fun. Overall a fab hotel, recommend it to anyone.
Well what can i say!! It was the best holiday ever! The staff and our Thomson rep Viki was Brill as most people wil agree. Wel Good Old George did hav his moans bout us coming in at 6ish most mornigns but then gave us a secret way to get in so we wouldnt wake him up haha! Well if you want any further details anyone about Argassi just e-mailme or summit! Well gotta go now hope to see you all again! Love the " Crazy Cardiff Girls "
I am going to agrassi next friday, can anybody tell me the best place to hire a car. I am also interested in boat hire to see the caves and turtle beach.
P.S we are stopping in the Eleana is it true about them being funny about you getting in late.
Also are the clubs in agrassi any good? And are the drinks expensive e.g spirts and larger
Hi Melissa, No problem about the info. Yes there is plenty to do in Argassi, the hotel is in a great spot. I would recommend that if you can hire a car well worth exploring the island outside Argassi. All the main restaurants and bars are literally on the hotel's doorstep..lots of restaurants to choose from, if you speak to Angela behind the bar at the hotel she will tell you all the restaurants to go to. You may even want to go to Laganas for a night, totally different to Argassi and a bit more expensive. The cost of food in Argassi I would say is slightly cheaper than here, drinks depending on where you go can be slighly more expensicve than a club here. Drinks in the hotel bar are a good price...if you drink beer/lager then you'll be ok with drinking Mythos (a local drink) is good and dead cheap (bottles come in half litres!!) If you want any more info let me know....
Thanks Kaye for your response, just wondering if there is a lot to do in argassi, also what are the prices like as people have been telling us that is has got more expensive recently. xxx
We have not long got back from zante. while we were there we stayed at the Hotel Eleana. It was great!! The staff were brilliant and everthing was spotless. It was my first holiday abroad and I was glad we picked Eleana. Dana done a french plat on my hair one evening and we had fun a the Toga party. George is not a miserable git like everyone says!! I would definetely go back.!!!
Hi, the breakfast is a continental breakfast consisting of Bread Roll (they are by the way really fresh tasty rolls) slice of chesse, slice of ham, butter, jam, marmalade, orange juice, tea or coffee. Breakfast is available between 7.30-9.30am...if you miss this then you can always buy a breaksfast at the pool bar..and they are good!!
I am coming to stay at the Elena in a couple of weeks and would like to know what they offer for breakfast, I have heard that it is traditional greek breakfast. Thanks xxx
Hi. I have just returned from the Eleana Hotel with my boyfriend Jon and we had the best holiday ever!! The hotel was brilliant; the staff were very friendly and made us very welcome, the hotel was spotless and the pool was great. Angela who looks after the bar makes the best cocktails ever and recommend you try a grasshopper!...if you are visiting the Eleana soon then mention the "kebab man" to Angela (she'll know what it means)Dorothy who works behind at the snack bar does a fantastic job and serves excellent food. Vicki the rep based at the hotel is fantastic and looked after us very well !! Hello to anyone reading this who was with us at the hotel at the same time, hope you all enjoyed your holiday as much as we did!!...I would also like to point out that George is not a miserable git as some people have said, he is very friendly!!....we will definately be returning to the Eleana!!!
My boyfriend and I have just returned from staying at the Eleana Hotel for 2 weeks. Its a fantastic hotel run by an extremely friendly family. The swimming pool was always clean and surroundings were always tidy. Its ideally located in the resort as its not up a hill and its only a 5 minute walk (maximum) to the main road of the resort. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back again.
Just come back from the Eleana. The hotel is very clean, the pool is excellent and the staff very friendly. No lock out problem that others have mentioned and you only get chucked out of the pool if you stay after it's 6pm closing time. The main thing is to ask not to be put in the front rooms, there are only a few so chances are low, but they are on the road with the Beer Academy pub (open until 3.30am) opposite and The Factory Club next door, so they are very noisy. Get any other room and everything is perfect. Location is good with the centre of the town close buy. Worth staying there definately.
Have been reading the comments from other guests & they made made chuckle I stayed in this hotel in 94 & 95. I definately agree on the comments that Dana is a lovely woman and I am glad to see that George is still a miserable git!!!!
yes this is bryan and sarah who met kim and andy on the holiday hi ya! brilliant holiday great hotel!
we,ve just arrived back from argassi on the 20th may.we stayed in hotel eleana.we found the staff to be on the whole very friendly.dorothy who works in the pool snack bar was terrific, the pool was very clean.the hotel room is very basic but clean.angela and helen(sisters) were very nice although angela loves herself.george and dana the owners were great especially dana.she,s great with the kids but george is a miserable git.on the whole a thouroughly enjoyable holiday.weather was superb in the 90,s everyday.
We have just arrived home from staying here on the first week of the season. We could not fault this Hotel or our holiday. The whole place was very clean and the staff were all very friendly. George can be a bit moody, but this didn't bother us. We were never thrown out of the pool area at night as george would just work around us at cleaning the pool area. We never found the doors to be locked even after coming in at around 4.00am. We met 2 other lovely couples whilst staying here (jill and gareth, Brian and sarah) which made our stay even more special. We have rated the quietness as good as we stayed in a room at the front of the hotel (opposite bear accademy) and it was a bit noisy at night, but other people we spoke to said it was quiet in their rooms. We would definately recommend this hotel and we hope to be going back in August this year.
Hi, I booked my holiday today to come to Hotel Eleana, My partner and i are both in our 20's and were looking forward to crazy nights out on the town, After reading all the comments i am really worried we have chosen the wrong hotel. There does seem to be lot of rules. We wanted a holiday we could go out and enjoy ourselves and i fear we wont be able to do this. Please help!! i dont wnat this to ruin my thoughts of a great holiday..........
It was a great holiday, all the staff are friendly, the barman in so funny. I would recomend anyone to go here.
There a lot of bars and reasturants outside the hotel- the beach is really close.
Excellent service all week. Defenately will go back. Well done.
My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel in July, and it was absolutely brilliant. I couldn't fault a single thing!!! For all those who have been dissuaded by people's less than complimentary comments about the hotel, i would just like to say that they should ignore it. I shall explain why: Firstly, the breakfast at this hotel is not awful, as some people have stated. It's a traditional greek breakfast, as stated. It's not the hotel's fault that people don't know what a traditional greek breakfast is. Secondly, how can you say that the staff were moody? As far as we were concerned, they were superb, and catered for all our needs without hesitation. In fact, we found the staff to be extremely friendly! Thirdly, the pool was open 10am - 6pm to keep the cleanliness up to the excellent standards that we found it in every day we were there! It was spotless! Finally, if you're concerned with the noise levels, we considered it to be fine, and what you'd expect with the resort being quite lively at night (it was quiet as a mouse inside the hotel). So, if you want to go on holiday in Argassi, I would highly recommend the Hotel Eleana. Superb!!!
Brilliant hotel stayed for a week late september very friendly met some lovely people can recommend the cocktails, the best hotel we have stayed in for a long time, don't think it would suit younger people though, we found that you were not expected to stay out late although in our 40's we felt like teenagers again with Daddy waiting up for us apart from that brilliant holiday.
We stayed during July 2002 and found the staff very friendly and helpful. It was ideally located, everything only a few minutes away. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for next year already.
Me and 3 of my other freinds stayed in this hotel we have just got back and we liked it. It was very clean and tidy and had nice staff. But i agree with other people we found ourselvs nearly locked out a couple of times! And mr crump always moaned at us! But i do recommend this hotel, it's in the middle, and not up any steep hills. Sarah Jones
The hotel eleana is brilliant in every aspect except for one small point. As we have just returned from two weeks at the eleana, i would advise that single people between the ages of 16 and 30 do not stay here. This is based upon our experiences and that of other guests. The main problem is George who is extremely set in his ways. Many times we were ordered to get out of the swimming pool and more than once we found ourselves locked out of the hotel despite it supposedly having a 24 reception. On the plus side however, Angela can not be faulted as she is one of the nicest receptionists I have ever met. Meanwhile Dorothy, is an absolute darling and we miss her toasties already. If you are travelling as a couple or a family with young children then this hotel comes with our highest reccommendations, otherwise I would recommend staying elsewhere.
We have just returned from an excellent holiday at the Eleana hotel. From reading previous comments i must admit that we were a bit aprehensive. But the hotel is excellent, and spotless. I have been to Greece before and knew the people were friendly but the staff have risen above all expectations they are all very friendly especially Dana,Angela,Dorothy and Tasos. All those who have slagged off the hotel are living on another planet its the best we have been too. Thank You everyone at the Eleana we had a great holiday - See you next year! xxx
Ive just come back from Hotel Eleana and have had the best holiday yet. All hotel staff were very friendly and took time to talk to you, especially Dorothy. The rooms are modern and very clean and swimming pool is spotless. ok so the food is basic but staff are more than happy to supply bowls etc if you want any alternative. i went on this holiday with my boyfriend and family and it suited all our needs. i recommend this to everyone. Take no notice of the bad comments, from what i experienced they're all lies!!
After reading some of the comments on this site about the Eleana Hotel i was dreading my holiday and well guess what i had one of my best holidays ever! The Eleana is a great hotel and i had a lovely stay here. The staff were more than welcoming and made our stay comfortable, ok George isn't the happiest of souls, but once you have a chat with him and as long as you are cool with him, he is fine and actually quite amusing and he keeps the pool area spotless. We spent 12 days out of 14 round the pool. Dorothy makes the best tuna salad around, infact all her food is great. Dana and Angela were exceptional and went out of their way to help in any way they could. The hotel is very clean (the cleaners come round 6 times a week). I would advise anyone who stays here do ignore other messages posted as it's a great place to stay.
we have just returned to-day from 2 of the most wonderful weeks of our lives hotel eleana its owners & staff were without exception fantastic people who went out of their way to make you feel welcome & to be friendly they were never rude or abrupt with anyone.after reading some of the comments on this site we were a bit apprehensive about our holiday but now we are just glad we weren't there when those cretins who moaned about it were there they must be some really sad boring morons.angela dana dorothy violetta george tassos & the cleaners thank you all for making our holiday so special we love you all regards from barney rubble & family xx
You only have to read down the comments of this page to find out that either your face fits and you have a good time or your face does not and the staff are rude. I must agree however that Dana and Dorothy are the exception. They are lovely always. My advice is do not go to this hotel unless it is to meet Dorothy or Dana.
we have just spent two weeks at this hotel. having read some of the previous negative and somewhat insulting comments i wondered whether they stayed at this actual hotel. the staff are wonderful angela, tasos, dorothy, dana and george and the maids were friendly at all times. we were never chased away from the pool after six. although i could understand if george did want people out of the water as he done a wonderful job of keeping the pool and the surrounding area clean. anyway just to finish i would just like to say a big hello to angela, dana, george, tasos, dorothy and everyone else there and hope you all enjoy your break during the closed season. and angela i have the photo's will send them soon. lots of love from terry and maz xxxxxx
We stayed at this Hotel again for the 6th time and have just recently come back. I am realy surprised at all the comments that people have made about the staff as we have never once seen them be unfriendly to anyone. And as for the rules and regulations that have been mentioned, well i can definately not agree with any of them, We have spoken to many people that have stayed here and the comments about the staff and the hotel have always been very good, I even read the comments in the comments book from the travel company, they were all full of praise for the hotel and the staff. We will be going back to the same hotel again. Every one has there own opinions and I would just like to say that after staying at the Eleana so many times I would not let any of these comments put me off going back.
We have just come back from Zante. The Eleana was a great hotel. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean. The hotel is situated in the centre of Argassi close to lots of restaurants and bars. The beach in Argassi is not that great but you can get a free bus to St Nicolas beach (so long as you hire a sun bed) very sandy beach with lovely clear sea there are also lots of watersports to do here.
I stayed at this hotel a couple of months ago and have found all the comments on the staff to be very true ie; rude, moody, etc.I would like to point out that yes it is YOU as a holiday maker that makes the holiday but at the end of the day you are paying for the hotel services and surely it is not too much to ask for a friendly bunch of staff to enhance your holiday as you relax around the pool/bar area. After all your hotel is your base for a great holiday. If the hotel was dirty it would spoil your holiday and you would complain so why not if the staff are plain ignorant. I know that when I was there, the barman was chatting up a guest but in my opinion be he "separated " or not he should behave in a professional manner whilst working in an environment like that. Perhaps the owners of the hotel Eleana should take note of what has been written about their hotel as I'm sure if it was my business that I would take a long hard look my staff, attitude and general outlook. As for writting our comments on the computer, that is what it is there for, to let other prospective holiday makers know about the hotel and safe to say, my comments have also been relayed to the Thomson Holiday group who are now aware of all situations that arose whilst holidaying there.
We have just returned this week from Zante and stayed in this hotel. We found it to be very clean, comfortable and in an ideal location for the beach/restaurants. We never found the staff to be 'moody'; in fact they were extremely friendly, always ready and willing to have a conversation (even at 3.00 am in the morning when we came back in!). Breakfast is continental style and is good quality. As a base for a holiday in Argassi you could not ask for more at this hotel. A holiday is not made by a hotel it is made by you and it is up to you whether you have a good holiday. We would definately stay in this hotel again if we returned to Argassi. (Hello Angela and family!!)
as a hotel we try our best to fulfil our guests needs and the hotels standards.guests that know and have the ability to appreciate services have expressed them at the time of their holiday, with thank you cards when they arrive home.our opinion is,that its easy to write into a computer and express your true feelings.in the end of the day you go on holiday to have a good time, the actual effort you put in.instead of watching staff and their personal lives'tasos'is seperated who oever needed to know that!just a recommadation, dont do on holiday what you wouldnt do back home!
We have just returned home from our holiday at the Eleana hotel, first impressions were our room which was a suite was superb with a lovely view over the pool. when we arrived Angela(receptionist)seemed friendly but as the holiday went on we found her to be extremely moody and rude, George(the owner) was always miserable so was the barman. However Dana(georges wife)was lovely and always made time to speak to you and she taught our son a new greek phrase everyday also Dorothy(snack bar)was lovely and she would help you out by serving variations on her menu. There was a lot of rules and regulations which made you feel like you were back at school and the pool which was extremly clean, you were only allowed to use between 10am till 6pm which was very inconvenient if you wanted to get up early for a swim or sunbathe late. overall we enjoyed our holiday because we were lucky with the location of our room and we were determined that a couple of miserable people would not spoil it. The rules and regulations were very annoying and could easily ruin your holiday and we definitely would not go back.
Joan, Eugene and JJ if you read this please try and get in touch. I have tried to mail you but seem to have the wrong e-mail address. Cheers Phil.
Hi Tracey, We have just come back from Zante (3rd Aug). We did not enjoy our stay at Eleana at all. This is the second time we have been to Zante. The first time we stayed at Iliessa Beach and everything was perfect. Great views, nice hotel and people. The resort is great and the weather is terrific. If you want my advice try and get into the Iliessa. It is close to all the action but not too close to be noisy. Cheers Phil.
are looking to stay here in 2002- we are a young couple- is it recommended?
jin the eleana hotel the breakfast was baps every morning with either cheese or ham which was ok at first but then after awile you got fed up the man george was evil he slashed nearly all of the lilos which kids played on .At the snack bar a bottle of water was 200 dr and outside in the shops it was 100 dr . how thomson call that a family friendly hotel i do not no. the hotel was like being at school and i have just broke up for 6 weeks to get away from rules and regulations so i don,t think my mum and dad will be booking this hotel again and i dont blaim them i would not touch that hotel with a barge pole my love to phill and family jj bown murphy age 11
If you want a relaxing holiday don't go to this hotel, unless you want to be kept up till 4.00am with noise from the factory. The breakfast was the worst we have ever had in Greece, the staff apart from Dana and Dorothy were very abrupt to the point of being rude to some of the guests. The company there was great Mykonas Phil[ he will know who we mean] and his wife and daughters were great. so was Armondo, kim, ricardo, anne and not forgetting roy which made the stay bearable.
We have just returned from the Eleana and we are confused by some of the comments on this page. The breakfast was basic as stated below, (Just rolls and jam / cheese / ham, watered down orange juice, tea)every day with no variation. The staff (except for Dorothy and the mother) were un welcoming, arrogant and down right rude, in particular Angela. The linen was never really clean and the maids made so much noise every morning (7:15am banging and clattering)there was no chance of a lie in. There are a strict set of rules that are enforced such as: no drinks or food in the room and the pool is cleared and closed each evening with military unpleasentness. If it was not for guests such as Amando, Kim and family and Joan, Eugine and JJ this would not have been a bearable holiday. We will definately give this hotel a miss next time and would reccomend that if you want a relaxing family friendly holiday that you do the same. Phil, Deb and girls.
