To J...we were there last summer with 5 kids...eldest was 16 almost and youngest 10!! To be honest..the apartments are really lovely...but there is no organised activites for kids!! We were two families...cousins etc and they used to spend a lot of time on the Playstation in the bar...whilst waiting for us adults to get ready of an evening!! But I guess coz there were 5 of them...they used to make their own entertainment normally in the pool!! When we were there last summer there was just our 5 kids...and a little boy from London or somewhere actually staying there...si I would say it was prob more for couples or groups of adults etc!! But to be fair...the kids were always welcomed in the bar and restaurant areas...and as I say...maybe we were just lucky or unlucky that we were the only family there with children!! But Kalamaki is very family orientated...and if you feel like your child is getting a bit fed up with themself there is always a pool nearby which will more than likely have other children staying!! And there is the beach....loadsa kids there...and The Dias is in a brill location to get to all other places easily!! A bonus for not having loadsa kids there....SILENCE at bedtime!!!!

J....the rooms had 2 beds generally....but they are very spacious by studio standards!!! We were on the ground floor room 106...so we were straight out to the sunbeds....more or less!! 3rd floor or top floor are best for views....although the rooms on the very top floor are more upmarket!!! Not sure if they are purely for private bookings..i.e not through tour op!!! This pic is from the terrace!!

The Dias is one of the nicest places we have eaten..and stayed!! Not staying there this time..only coz we decided to have a change of resort..but are coming back for a meal all the way from Alikes Labros and co...are some of the nicest most generous people I know..and try really hard to do a good job!! 
Sorry your meal wasn't you were expecting..but John is right..food in Greece is served mostly luke warm..and they always take a while to bring it..as they are cooking things to order..mostly!!

Just to say..we are here now..and the apartments are really not bad at all!!! Couldn't ask for a better location..and we have found the family who own them to be friendly and helpful!! Typical greek accomodation and not as filthy as some would have us believe
Anyway..we are enjoying ourselves and we got all the bottom floor to ourselves..and the terrace that comes with it..so who's complaining!!! Will post some pics later!! Thanx Manos..not bad at all....

Had several happy evenings in here..nice atmosphere..comy chairs..and lovely cocktails!! Brill Place..enjoyed all the nostalgic music!! 60's 70's and 80's nights were good..seeing as it was every night Nicos playing the bozouki was a AAHH moment!! Only place in Alykes where the soft drinks were only 1 euro!! Brill when you got kids drinking several in about 10 mins!! Thanks all..

Not sure what happend to others..but we had several lovely meals here!! The Chicken Fillet with mushroom sauce was lovely..the staff were very pleasant and helpful..but I must confess..it was always on the quiet side!! Brill for us..I suppose!! Cant say it was a horrid eating experience..coz it wasn't!!

Went here once only!! The food was good and so was the service..but the night we were there must have been arrivals nite for the whole of Italy!! It was like having dinner in the middle of the M25!! Not the fault of the restaurant I know..but just an observation!! Sadly the traffic was horrendus..and fumes worse!! But am sure this doesn't happen all the time..its just a shame that they decided to call it Relax..as it was the least relaxing place of all!! Like I say..the food was nice and the staff..just make sure its not rush hour when you eat there!!

Here are some more pics!! As you can see they are in a great location!! Only Minor complaint was the toilet!! It wouldn't fill up properly after flushing..which meant it was running all the time..but the loose toilet seat was fixed without even asking!!! Cleaners in every other day..except Sunday..she could have a bit of a scary face on..but she spoke no english so communication was a bit iffy..but she was very nice..if you tried a Kalimera..Ti Kaneis?

Hello Kate and Steve..its Julie..the one with the leopard skin hubby!!! Was really nice to meet you whilst in Alykes in Aug/Sept!! We used the Lofos quite a lot..as our accomodation did not have a pool..although we did have the sea on the doorstep Was a lovely place..with loads of sunbeds and a lovely pool!! It was VERY hot when we were there..and The Lofos is sadly lacking in breezes..so several G & T's and Mythos's were consumed in the shade when it got too much..which was practically every day

Wasn't staying here..but used the pool loads and the bar..and ate there as well!! Food was delicious with genorous portions..and the drinks reasonably priced!! A proper sun trap tho..and we were there mid August..so spent a lot of time in the shade...near the bar

To Maddy..so sorry you were disappointed..maybe my comments were off putting..but we really only slept and showered there!! The accomodationn was adequate for what we paid for 3 weeks!! Manos..well..they are good value for money!! Flights with Mytravel comfortable and on time..almost!! Transfers quick..once the coach turned up
..which it did after about 15 mins..and this was after about 30 mins waiting for the luggage!! Accomodation..well we liked it..but others were a bit disappointed The Emily..brilliant location..but needs a bit of a interior overhaul..eg: new knives..forks cups etc!!! But we enjoyed it..as we neva cooked in there..really only used it for sleeping and showering!

No matter where we are staying on Zakynthos...we ALWAYS try and visit The Target Bar!! It has some of the BEST views of Zakynthos Town..The Peloponese and Kefalonia...and worth the bit of a climb to get up there!!! Theres nothing nicer than sitting up there...with a cold glass of something and some nice greek snacks..taking in the sights..sounds and smells that being half way up a mountain can give you!!
Thankfully...wont have to spend a fortune in euros in taxis to get there this time..as we are staying in Argassi...so...will be spending several....laid back afternoons up there..as we are there for 3 weeks!!
Cannot wait to be back there....see you all soon!!

Went with Manos last year..which is also part of the MYTravel Group..and we were amazed at the speed of checkin at Manchester airport!! Must've been the fastest checkin eva..and this was the week after all the hooha last year with the terrorist activities!!
Both outbound and inbound flights were good..and the cabin crew on the return journey were especially good!!
Food was nice enuff..and it was an enjoyable start and end to our hard earned holidays!!

We stayed here end of August beginning September and had a really nice time!! Very well situated to be near all the action..but far enough away to be peaceful as well!! Lots of nice drinks and food was consumed at the poolside bar..Thanx Kris..and Roland!! Water went off a couple of times..but hey..this is Greece.
. Apartments were fairly spacious and well maintained..well ours was anyway..and the pool area was nice and relaxing!!
Only complaint really was the dogs barking constantly..mostly at night and in the early hours..but you could block it out if you really tried

The setting is near on perfect..altho all the bars down the seafront are!!! But Dimitrios has Lorenzo and crew..who work really hard ..all hours..and are really welcoming and friendly Added bonus's are..free pool table..for when the teenagers are "Bored"..lovely..yummy snacks and meals..Recommend the toasted baguettes We has several "Happy Hours" here..and would gladly have stayed here on a sunbed

Went back to Tropicana this year and was very disappointed to see it VERY empty!!! It is such a shame for the poor people that were working there..we didn't even stay lomg enough to get to know them.. sorry about that!!
sorry about that!!Lads had a game of pool and we had one drink and left...as we were the only ones here..and it wasn't that late of an evening!! Don't know as to why it was sooo empty..but it wasn't the Tropicana we had know and loved after several yeas!!! Even The Jam was empty Very sad...hope it picks up next season for all who are involved with it!!!

JUST RETURNED FROM A 2 WEEK STAY HERE AT THE KALAMAKI BEACH HOTEL. THE HOTEL IS CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED IN EXTENSIVE GARDENS WITH A LARGE POOL AREA AND SNACK BAR. THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, ESPECIALLY RIA AND SOFIA ON RECEPTION.
ROOMS ARE GENERAL GREEK ROOMS WITH TV AND PHONE AND FRIDGE. HOWEVER SHOWER DOES HAVE THE ADDED BONUS OF A CURTAIN WHICH DOES STOP SOME OF THE WATER FROM FLOODING THE BATHROOM ATTACHED BEACHSIDE TAVERNA IS VERY GOOD..SERVING INEXPENSIVE SNAX AND IS AN IDEAL SPOT TO WATCH THE WORLD GO BY WITH SEVERAL DRINKIES.

COUPLE OF MINUS POINTS BUT NOTHING MAJOR..IS A BIT OF A WAY FROM MAIN STRIP IF YOU HAD WALKING DIFFICULTIES..ABOUT 10 MINS IF YOU TOOK THE SHORT CUT PAST THE PELOUZO AND THE AMYRILLIS..ALTHO THERE IS A TAXI RANK MORE OR LESS OUTSIDE..AND THE COCKTAIL BAR IN THE GROUNDS..ALTHO VERY NICE THE BARMAID WASN'T KEEN ON HANGING AROUND OF AN EVENING SAY IF YOU TURNED UP ABOUT HALF 12 AFTER DINING OUT ETC WANTING ONE FOR THE ROAD..COZ SHE WAS VERY STRICT ON CLOSING TIMES AND WOULD SERVE YOU THE DRINKS BUT WITH A TIME LIMIT ON HOW LONG YOU COULD STAY TO DRINK IT!!! GUESS SHE HAD A DAY JOB AS WELL..BUT IF THERE ARE CUSTOMERS STILL TO SERVE..THOUGHT THEY WERE MEANT TO STAY UNTIL YOU DID..OR AM I WRONG? STILL ITHEY ARE ONLY MINOR ISSUES AND DID NT SPOIL OUR STAY HERE! WOULD I RECOMMEND IT TO A FRIEND?...DEFINITELY.

yassou peter andrea and all!! remember last year?? kareoke..mamma mia is my partypeice back to kalamaki again this summer..on 27th aug...we will be celebrating 10 years of visiting zakynthos..and pauls 50th on the 30th aug...its a celebratory year!! scott, shaun, roz and natalie will be with us this time..im sure we will be visiting u this time...until then....xx
