Dear "Dave". I'm very, very sorry. "what for?" you ask. Well you obviously lead such a sad, pathetic, and lonely life that you feel the need to constantly watch and comment on other peoples lives but just to correct you on a few errors in your report we never say we are busy when we're not and Phil is here from 4 every day not 6, not that it's any of your business. It doesn't take 45 mins to get food out even on a busy night but just to reiterate we are not a fast food joint and we serve Fresh, Homemade meals(not pre cooked, microwaved meals with frozen chips like some restraurants I could mention). The staff are not treated like dirt and are very happy, the comment about the tap water was friendly banter. The 'pool bar' you refer to we haven't got a clue about so there are secrets you don't know after all. We will be back next year and we hope you will have grown up enough to cope with fair competition as there will be plenty more next year but you'll have to wait and see what it is!!!
Mandy and Phil
p.s 'Knob end'. Come on! How old are you. 5?

Paul D  (21 September 2003)

Dont know what on earth that last e-mail was about, I have just returned from 2 weeks holiday on zante, and the vine leaf provided the best meals on the island, the steaks were cooked to perfection, and like the guy stephen said the cheesecake was fantasttic, I only wish i could have taken some home, the staff were very helpful, and friendly, phil and mandy made us more than welcome, we went on a number of occasions, not something you do if you dont enjoy the food and atmosphere,so what if they only get a few tables in, is quality that counts, and it does not take 45 mins to get your food, I for one will certainly return to the vine leaf. keep up the good work, see you next year.

Dave W  (16 September 2003)

Hello what the hell is this guy on .opens at 6pm and closes at 10pm,it takes at least 45mins too get your meal ,it mite be nice but come on move your ass gets 2 or 3 tables all night and tells everyone he,s rushed off his feet .treats the staff like dirt when they want a drink dont have coke drink the tap water.IF he thinks !!! he could open a pool bar down in the next town thats a bigger laugh. By the way therh are no secrets around here for knob ends.!

Stephen   (07 September 2003)

Excellent steaks and chips as they should be!Specials were excellent value and the atmosphere was friendly and helpfull to young and old alike. Tried once and kept going back the cheesecake is addictive and the Baileys cheesecake is sublime! make sure you have a few spare notches in the belt because you'll be fit to burst.
See you all next year Steve & Annie

If you don't want real Greek food but lust after a taste of old England then try this place. It's good for anything with chips but for authentic quisine go elsewhere. This was the most expensive place that we ate put at. Moosakka at 6E and round the corener 4.5E and much better. Still, you pays your money...

Carol B  (29 July 2002)

WE LOVED THE VINE LEAF.THE FOOD AND THE STAFF ARE SUPERB.DEBS MAKES THE MOST DELICIOUS VEGGI AND NON VEGGI MEATBALLS I HAVE EVER TASTED! NOTHING WAS TO MUCH FOR THEM,EVEN PHIL HELPED US WITH THE QUIZ FROM NEXT DOOR AND MIGHT I ADD WE WON.

Andy K  (14 July 2002)

Well done all, good english food cooked just how I like it, good staff,

Ann M  (23 June 2002)

Have just returned from Alikes. If you would like a change from Greek food or if you are homesick for good old English cooking, you must visit The Vine Leaf off the main street on the way past the salt flats. Phil & Debs make you very welcome and we enjoyed seeing the World Cup England matches with them all. The food is excellent and all the staff are very friendly. We especially recommend their steaks and also the lamb chops in minted gravy. Hoping to return to Alikes for another holiday so we'll see you again Debs!!
