Xenos Kamara Beach Hotel

Accommodation in Argassi

Jim K

In the end a great holiday.  On the down side we were at the back of the hotel nearest the main drag. There was a bar about 100 yards away there that kept going with bands / disco etc till 5 am in the morning!  The balcony was not the most peaceful place to relax after a night out.  Luckily we could close the doors on it sleep with the air con on. (Take your ear plugs though!)

Argassi was a bit too commercial and loud for our tastes.

Apart from that Hotel great - good food - clean - just enough sun beds - It aint only the Germans who stick their towels down early!

Steve & Dawn

we`ve just returned from the xenos kamara,we stayed in room 205 with our 3 kids, the hotel was loverly situated right on the beach, the view we had from our room was breathtaking, over looking the sea.Michelle the rep was brill always cheerful and the kids rep`s were loverly,my son josh used the club and really enjoyed it. the staff were nice and the reception very helpfull, the maids cleaned our rooms almost everyday and did a good job, because of the time of our flight home it ment we had to vacate our room by midday on the thursday and we wasnt getting picked up untill 3am friday so we paid 40 euros to have a late checkout room , wehad to change rooms but it was worth the money because we got to keep the room right up until we left which ment the kids could get some sleep. on the whole this was a brilliant holiday, we couldnt of wished for a better hotel and views
if we go back to argassi we wouldnt stay in any other hotel and we would definetly ask to stay in room 205

We are a family of five, two adults and three children under 12. When we arrived at Xenos Beach we were really surprised as we walked into reception we found it to be inviting and friendly. We were shown to our room (N0 102)and to our surprise found a very modern, clean and tidy apartment. We had one room with a kingsize bed and the other with 2 singles and 1 fold up camp bed (not very comfy. The maid services was excellent our room was always kept clean and fresh white cotton bedding changed every other day.

We were misled and found that the air conditioning was charged as an 'EXTRA' this was not made clear in the holiday brochure!!! It was a must though in July as it got very hot.

The Scottish Receptionist was good and really helpful.

The downside to this room is that it is very near to the lounge and so any entertainment in the evening can be heard very clearly up till about 1.30 am!!!!!!!!

On the whole we found it to be an excellent location with good facilities and choice of restaurants - taxis to Zante 6 Euros. Not often we return to the same place but this may be the exception

Debbs C

Hi there just got back from a stonking 1 week holiday to the xenos! (whish it was 2) i was very worried about staying here as we where moved one day before flying out (ooh yeah thats what i said too) but i think it was for the best!

When we arrived i was so pleased right on the beach and i mean right on the beach! fab views of the sea and across to zante harbour brill! the accomadation was very clean and well equiped we had a two bed and a studio appartment there where 7 in our group 3 adults 4 kiddies with ages from 14-4 the staff very helpful too.
The reps where great!! and they had kiddies reps and clubs too what more could you ask for! (an extra week would be good.)
would like to say thanks to Michelle, Zoe, Sam and the other reps who made our holiday great fun and very memorable!
The Evening enterainment is good and the bar snacks and drinks are well priced with quite a good range to cover most peoples needs and damanding 4 year olds!!

I have stayed in Argassi before and its in a great location so the beach is not the best in the world but its all on your door step.

We did have to use the local doctor and with all these kiddies you should have guessed lol, dr stamenkovic was very good spoke great english and was helpful.
would i go back? oooh yeah straight away to save me unpacking!!

Lynne C

Stayed at xenos kamara in may this year, we had a fantastic time. Would recommend to anyone and am considering going back again next year. The staff were friendly and the Cosmos Reps were fantastic, Michelle if you're reading -alright mate!!!.Very children friendly with a small safe beach. Have to agree with Diane murray though the only problem with Zante is that shed they call an airport.

Andrew B

JUST GOT BACK,17-6-04 , AFTER 2 WEEKS, WHAT A GREAT PLACE, HOTEL STAFF AND HOLIDAY REPS VERY FRIENDLY-ESPECIALLY MICHELLE,GREAT LOCATION RIGHT ON BEACH,NICE POOL,GOOD BAR SNACKS.PLACES TO EAT-AFRODITES-STASANTAS-ZEUS.PLACES TO MISS-STARS AND PREMIER RESTAURANTS,BOTH TOOK AGES TO GET OUR MEALS AND BOTH MISSED ONE ALLTOGETHER.FOR CAR HIRE TRY P.D.Q JUST ROUND THE CORNER FROM XKB,NEAR SHELL GARAGE ,WE HIRED 2 CARS FOR 3 DAYS AT 200 EUROS FOR THE 2.CANT WAIT TO GO BACK

Bugbabe34

Our holiday was changed 2 days before flying to Zante and this was the hotel we were offered. The hotel is small and friendly. All the staff are great. Michelle (the Cosmos Rep) is friendly and very efficient. The pool area is small, but large enough for visitors to the hotel. The beach is right on the doorstep. The hotel is an excellent base for touring the island. Our room was cleaned well and the overall cleanliness of the whole place was good. The Greek night organised by the hotel was good, as was the bar-b-q. We would go back.

Steve C

What can we say, 2 Adults, 3 children, room 212, absolutely brill sea views, very clean / tidy, staff very helpfull, so close to the sea !!!! Cosmos staff 1st class to say the least, good night time entertainment, some of the childrens clubs bit expensive for 3 but if thats the only moan its a very small one, music from the bar could be a bit quieter at night. Fab time for all though.

Leanne F

We stayed in room 212 at the apartments xenos Kamara from 25/09/03-10/10/03.
Upon arrival we were very impressed but when we got to our room we were shocked at how dirty our apartment was, the room had obviously not been cleaned from the previous occupants. Although bedding was fresh and bathroom wasn't too bad, the kitchen area and floors were filthy, I was able to wash and wipe all areas and utentsils that we were to use but it was impossible to keep floors cleaned as there were no facilities.
Subsequently we felt that the apartment was never cleaned properly for the whole of our duration.
On a positive note; we had a king size bed and 3 proper single beds.
The view from our balconies was wonderful as we had a sea view. It was lovely to listen to the sea as we lay in bed, and just to eat breakfast on the balcony before the kids got up was a simple pleasure.
The staff at the hotel were brilliant the reception staff-Yiannia(one with curly hair)and Nikos(the night shift lad) were so friendly and there english was impeccable.
Frank the barman was amazing and both my 14yr-olds and 4 yr-old daughters absolutely adored him -the guy should be on TV.
George was a miserable git.
We were expecting a little more in the line of hotel entertainment as there was 1 quiz night in the whole 2 weeks we were there and nothing else, but we found our own thing to do on an evening though.
I seriously doubt that we will return to this hotel as we found Cosmos to be a complete let down, even charged us E40 for a courtesy room knowing we had to be out of our room 15 hours before we were due to be picked up for airport. This is a Cosmos exclusive hotel and they give you your flight times. Courtesy room was spotlessly clean but although we had paid for a room for 5 we were given a fold-away camp bed as our 5th bed -not good.
Also must mention Theo from Theo's supermarket in the high street, he was an absolutely lovely man and was forever letting me off with 20 cents here and 50 cents there.

Peter L

What a fantastic hotel the Xeno Kamara is. It's very much a family hotel, though I was one of three mid-20's lads looking for a quiet and relaxing hotel close to a lively nightlife (Laganas is only a few pounds away in a taxi). We stopped June 2003.

The hotel is the most friendly I have ever stayed at - the staff are incredibly welcoming, and you soon get to know them all. Whilst rooms are fairly basic, they are spotlessly clean and represent excellent value for money. The hotel's location really could not be better - it is on a beautiful spot overlooking the beach. The pool is good, but you're only ever a few steps away from the sand and a fairly quiet beach.

The hotel is in a quiet spot of Argassi, yet within about a minutes walk you are in Argassi's centre. Argassi itself was incredibly friendly, we tended to eat in Argassi and then either find a quiet bar there for a few relaxing drinks, or when we wanted a bigger night, Laganas was just down the road. Argassi has a vast number of good value restaurants and enough bars to keep you busy (though some tended to be quite quiet at times). Despite all this Argassi retains a quaint 'village' feel, and even within a couple of days the local bar owners or restauranteurs will start to recognise you and chat, even when they know there's no business in it for them! You must pay Tiffany's restaurant a visit - you will instantly know it as the one with the eccentric old man called Peter trying to coax you to come in! He WILL give you the hard sell, but make him sweat for a couple of nights then go in -- the guy is an absolute legend and you will spend your entire meal there with a smile on your face!

I'm someone who never goes back to the same place, but i might just have to head back to Xenos Kamara someday soon. To sum up the hotel and the town in two words..... genuinely friendly. I really cant recommend it enough. GO!!

Tracy G

WE HAD AN EXCELLENT TIME!!!!! We have never stayed at such a clean apartment. Towels and bed linen were changed practically every day or so and bins were emptied and floors cleaned all the time we never had any complaints at all about any facilities here. pool brilliant (if just a little too cold, kids loved it though) sea was lovely (warmer than the pool) the only grumble was that the beach could have been cleaner. Michelle (Buttons) our Cosmos Rep was really nice she did her very best for us when our flights home were delayed and kept us well informed of what was going on(even though we didn't go to the welcome meeting, to our disadvantage, its worth going if only to find out where NOT to eat!) and Oasis Bar is the best in the resort for cocktails and kids games the atmosphere there was excellent and really friendly and Papillon, Carissimo and Erato are amoung the best restaurants. Bar snacks were really good at the hotel especially convenient at lunch times.
Please don't go horse riding in Tsilivi we booked it with an english woman where the road forks off to the right next to a jewelry shop the bloke took an exra long detour to get us there, 7 in one car, then thinking we were getting used to the horses started going round in circles in a paddock which we continued to do for the whole hour kids watching getting bored for the first 20 mins even though we paid just as much for them as an adult ticket BE WARNED. But overall a very good holiday car hire is cheap just watch the local drivers though. Island very pretty.
We would recommend this holiday to anyone Thanks to all involved.

Best holiday our family have had. A Very welcoming hotel with brilliant service. The cleanliness was excellent. My 15 year old and eight year old girls loved it and keep nagging me to come back. We had an excellent view of the sea from our room, as the hotel is situated right on the beach. We also found it wasn't too noisy here, when you retired to bed all you could really hear was the wooshing of the waves, it was really lovely. I would recomend this holiday to any family with children. Not for people who want to party all night.

Diane M

We stayed here for 2 weeks in june 2003, the frogs at the side of the hotel kept us awake at night, the hotel was very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, the worst thing about the place was no entertainment at night, well there was a bbq night and a kareoke night but that was about it, and the airport is the worst i have ever been to.

Beth J

Unbelievable!!!! probably so because we got it so cheap but still, clean, comfortable, totally modern, excellent location, superb staff an overall goldmine! We highly recommend this place to anyone considering going to Zante. Excellent for wheelchair acess and kids too. The best thing about Argassi reckon.

Christine W

we liked this hotel and thought the reps there (alexi and gemma ) did a good job of entertaining the people most of the time. was no teenage club there (closed end of aug)so felt let down that way but lots for them to do with the adults particularly round the pool in the day.my son won bingo at least 3 times so was highly delighted at the extra spending money

Kerry F

hi, we are going to stay at the xenos kamara beach hotel in may of next year, we have 3 children aged 14,9 and 6 years old, will there be enough for them to do? and is it a clean hotel?

Karen R

My husband and I, together with 3 sons aged 14,12 and 10 have just spent 2 weeks as Xenos Kamara Beach Aparthotel. I could not fault anything at al about the hotel, resort as we had a fabulous time. The weather was great and we were near to all ameneties. The staff at the hotel were brilliant and food in the restaurant was great. There was plnety for the boys to do, the eldest and his friend spending every night in The Factory Club Disco, but the resort was so safe we did not have to worry about any of them going off on their own.

Julie S

We've been back for less than a week and miss it already. The hotel was spot on, really clean, lovely apartments. Nice pool with few steps down to beach which is much nicer than everybody says, especially near the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone, whether with family or not (but is especially good for families) who like beach, sun, good location for visiting other places and with reasonably lively nightlife without being too noisy. You can't hear any noise near the hotel after about midnight. Get a car while you're there and visit shipwreck, Keri (fantastic taverna there on the cliff edge with stunning views) and loveley beaches towards the tip of the coast, e.g. banana beach and especially Gerakas. Say hello to George in the hotel for me - he's great!

Angela V

i don't recommend that people should give stars a miss! it's the best one there! they're very professional! illusion is the average one

John P

I was there in 2001 - just a week or so after it opened. Some jobs were still taking place to finish it. I thought it was superb. The rooms were well furnished and the cleaning was of a high standard. Some rooms will be added which may overload the facilities. These will overlook an inner garden area - so no sea view. Only problems were inconsiderate guests letting their tired kids climb on the furniture in reception and generally make a pest of themselves. The place offered laundry facilities. Give Stars a miss. Try Illision on the road behind it. Stars is too bland.

Pat S

Staying here for two weeks from 21.7.02 - can anbody tell me what the day and evening entertainment is like for 2 teenagers aged 15 & 12

Angela V

Charlotte, what room number were you?? first, second or third floor???

Angela V

I LOVED THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was the best holiday i had ever been to, it was great!! i was on the second floor with my family (i'm 14) and we could look over at the sea and at the hills. we had 2 balconies and me and my sister had the biggest one! the doors leading out to the balcony were glass and blinds, at night you could keep the glass one open and close the blind one and this was great because the knats couldn't get in. the sound of the waves sent me to sleep at night and i could hear the street music while i was going to sleep and that just gave the greek feeling!! when i woke up in the morning i'd pull the blinds back and i'd see the wonderful sea glinting in the sunlight! the pool was absoloutely fab! it had a mini waterfall which was fun too! if you wanna go to a restaurant that has everything you want in a restaurant then you have to go to STARS, it's 1 minute from the appartment and my family and i went there all the time for dinner, the foods great the staff are great (especially the men ones!! not bad looking!!) they love kids so there's no reason for any mums and dads to get worried. the staff that look after the kids in the appartment look after the kids brilliantly and have them for most of the day!! i hardly saw my brother!! i'm sorry that i go on abit but i just LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! i recommend it to anyone!! the first person who commented on this place doesn't know what a good appartment is! the second person does!! if you think that i'm abit mad for going on abit then you should go there and see what i mean!!

Sandra W

Booked this hotel a year in advance as we got a good deal through Cosmos, and it had two bedrooms. (Stayed in room 219). Hotel is beautiful, although we did notice that due to it being the end of the season that the staff were letting things slip, ie, bulbs not being replaced in the reception ceiling which spoilt the effect. Good maid service, although the floor could have done with sweeping occasionally!! Good location just off the main drag through Argassi, very noisy at night though if you can bear to shut the fabulous double glazed balcony doors you should not be kept awake. Plenty to do at night, could eat in a different restaurant every night. Our favourite for after dinner drinks was Lucky Ten as there was a games room for the kids and a wide screen TV in the main bar. The hotel is right on the beach which allows you to wander backwards and forwards with the kids. Kids club was good with sometimes 2 activities a day, plus they babysit for you on a Sunday night which was a bonus, but be warned you do have to pay for some of the activities which can work out expensive if you have more than one child. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone without kids as once they are all in the pool you don't stand a chance! It is very family orientated. Would definitely go back again.

Dave J

The location is superb, the reception staff were very frendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and modern with help from Cosmos and Lisa, Also the beer is cheap. We did have to comment about some inconsiderate guests who marched around their rooms in high heels especially the women, and dragged the furniture around in the early hours.

Charlotte T

God, I cant beleive nobody has commented on this place-it is amazing! Spottlessly clean, brand knew, the most modern and awe inspiring reception and lounge area (which I fell in love with and have decided I want my lounge to be like!)Location couldn't be any better, six steps onto the beach, pool is divine, staff are friendly and the perfect to place to enjoy a perfect holiday!!!

Diane M

location very good no entertainment for kids very boring at night i have 2 teenagers and the inzone was only on 1 time per week we were very dissapointed with lack of entertainment hotel very beautiful cosmos let the hotel down alot

Helen T

Just got back from 2 weeks staying at Xenos Kamara Beach Hotel. We used this hotel as the accomodation was what we required (ie 2 bedrooms) and they catered for kids. We were told it opened on 1st May and so additions were going on daily (NO building work just extras like doors to the bar - parasols - signs)nothing too intrusive but power tools being used for a short time at 9am may not be everybodies cup of tea. We had the room above the bar - the noise from the bar itself was quite well sound proofed but people chatting until 2am+ was intrusive. Rooms at one side get noise from a local bar that seems to ignore the rule of no external noise after midnight. I would advise NOT going if you do not have kids - our understanding was that it was a new Cosmos hotel that had been specifically designed to cater for kids. It does this but seems to forget us parents may not want Karaoke! During term time there may not be so many kids but as we left there were more arrivals with more under 5's and some older. The food served at the bar was okay - you have such a good and varied selection on the doorstep that the pub type grub served at the bar was welcome when we needed it. No real complaints at all - just too many kids which did become a pain. Our kids enjoyed meeting up with new friends and using the kids club. Summing up - it is based in Argassi which is a tourist location and not your idyllic Greek village (if you want that go to resorts further up the coast)it caters for tourists well but if you want more than that hire a car!

Peter H

any body interested in xenos beach argassi. go to holidays uncovered.co.uk i have just read a good report from a couple who went there on a cancelation. sounded like a 9 out of 10, unless you dont like kids.

Leigh F

Anyone who is back from the Xenos beach before 17 June 2001, please put comments on this web site. My partner and I are going it's our first holiday abroad together. We have no children.

Peter H

Anybody been to Xenos Beach Hotel Argassi, since it opened. any info most welcome cheers,Pete

Helen T

Just got the new Cosmos brochure (Summer Sun 2002) there are slightly different comments on Xenos - it would appear that it is far more kid orientated than first appeared (ie Satellite TV in every apartment (free)) - Evening entertainment 6 days a week. Also the new brochure gives a floorplan. But still no pictures - it gives a new grid reference which puts it in the middle of the beach front. But sod it, we'll be there in 281hours 41 minutes & 5 seconds - not that we're counting!

Helen T

We've booked the Xenos Beach ApartHotel - going out 24th May. I phoned Cosmos to see if there was any info or pictures - there weren't but assured me that building work had finished and there were people staying there!- That was about 6 weeks ago.

Diane M

i have found out that this hotel is brand new and only opens on the 1 may 2001
