Vanessa Hotel

kiri duxbury. i have just got bk from kalamaki i went in september the weather is fantastic and always is i have been for 3 yrs on the run at the same time. The hotel is clean and has all been refirbished. The beach is about a 15 min walk but ite nice toi walk bk drying off from the sea . you can hire transport for a lift if it is easier. All the bars adn clubs are great. especially rose and crown which is just over the road the parthenon resturant is great too.

We didnt stay here but we did have a few drinks there every night.We played pool & watched the world go by.The drinks were really cheap.Happy hour 8-12 pint draught Mythos 2 euro & cocktails 2euro.Their screaming orgasms were to die for(vodka Baileys Amaretto Tia Maria & milk) The barmaid Danielle I think, worked really hard all night & she made lovely chocolate milkshakes for my son (3 euro)

we never stayed in the Vanessa but we went there every day.it was great hopfully comin bk next year and stayin there.hi to Artan and the night time bar man luv u both.

I came here when i was 4 in 1995, we are now visiting Kalamaki again this year however could not find Vanessa Studios in any travel brochures and are now going to Hotel Marelen. From what I remember of Vanessa Studios (this was its name in 1995) it was lovely, we have many pictures of me and my family with the staff at the hotel . The apartments were lovely too, we had a two bedroomed apartment, she pool was lovely . I remember that there was a jewelry shop being built when we were there, and there was a lovely restaurant over the road. it had a water fountain which i remember because we have many puictures of us in this restaurant.

Hotel Vanessa isnt in brochures but it is a lovely place and should be in brochures so it is there for everybody to enjoy!! Byeeeee

Kiri its not far to walk to the beach.There are a few little roads from the main strip where you are that take you down to the beach.We are going back in Sept and the weather is usualy good as been before.Can be a bit mixed but still nice.Ur in a great location not far to crawl home.

 Even though we did nt stay at the vanessa we used their pool every day

 The food and service at the pool bar was brill

next time we come to kalamaki will defo stay at the vanessa 

We arrived, had no accomodation and Fotis found space for us. Great guy with great family, hotel, pool, bar, etc. Bit lacking in entertainment but you dont have to go very far to find some. One night at Vanessa we met a magician guy (Paul, I think...) who was working at some bars in Zante. He showed me and my family the most amazing close up magic I've ever seen in the bar. Much better than on telly, he was brilliant. I hope he's there next year as we've booked already. The staff at the Vanesssa are great and will do all they can to help you (it may take a little Greek time, but they WILL help you). What else can I say about the place... Kalamaki itself comes to life at night and apart from 1 or 2 idiot Brits (there were always a few every night) as drunk as can be, the place is great for families. The Vanessa is bang in the middle of the strip and couldn't be bettert placed for all the amenities. Cant wait till next year's holidays now... Maybe see you there.

My boyfirend and I stayed at Vanessa earlier this season and we couldn't of wished for nicer accomodation on a beautiful  Island. We were originally due to stay in the two 'brothers' aparments, but the rooms there were well below the basic greek standard, so we escaped to Vansessa. Fotis and Dimitris were very good hosts, the rooms were large and cleam and the drinks at the hotel were reasonably priced. Will stay there again!

Fotis is never on reception, hes usually sleeping off the effects of the previous nights alcohol! So if you need anything urgently, see Dimitris at the Bar!!

Just stayed at Vanessa for the second time this year, lovely room, very clean, the maids were very friendly and thorough and just hope Danielle reads this - who`d have thought that a nearly 35 year old would still be bleaching it at 930 am at the pastry shop - was that a night to remember when we all piled off clubbing, took me back to the good ol days!!

ten geordies & two mackems had a brill holiday. Sorry Fotis we're coming back next year.

Had a great stay at the Vanessa Hotel and already planning my next stay with you all. Fotis, the Greek God (!), was a pleasure to meet and his dedication to putting things right was proved when I found him fixing the air conditioning at midnight! The rest of the family ( 12 of us in all) had a fab time. Will post the photo, as promised, when I get back to Wales. Oh, and Fotis, don't forget that pic you promised to email me..... the one of you with long hair!

Stayed there again and had to have 6 days in hospital. They could not do enough for us. Hope they will have us back in September. The bar is great the snacks aregood value for money. The family are wonderfull.

didnt stay here ,but used the pool bar ,very often...very cheap food and drinks,and happy hour 8-12pm,very friendly,a family of four can have a snack ,burger etc and drinks for less than a tenner

Probably the biggest hotel balcony in Zante!! superb!

Stayed here for the first time this week and very,very impressed, beautiful big room with the biggest balcony ever (I`ll add photo this weekend), very cleanm, maids very friendly, Fortis and Danielle and all the staff make you very welcome. I thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone!

  came back from there last week, guess what we are off again for another 2 weeks on sunday. it is so clean, so welcoming it is unbelivable. my husband loves his cup of tea and asked  daniell if she did a mug of tea and so she did. he was addicted. the snack meals are such great value for money. the maids were fantastic. we gave one of them a tip and she bought me a present. don't all expect this, but that is how nice they are. dimitri best barman in town. fortis is magic. in fact only 5 sleeps and we will be there again. much love to you all. ps don't tell petros, it is a suprise.xxx

I go to Vanessa every year. It is the best place to stay in my opinion. rooms very spacious. Pool Good, Pool Bar great. the only noise that will bother you is when Fotis gets on the Karioke. Seriously though, although it is on the main road and there is some traffic noise, there is loads of room to sunbathe away from the road area. the rooms are set well back from the road also. It is situated between Mermaids and the turning for the Airport road. It is only 10 minutes stroll from the Taxi Rank and about that from the beach. Great place. Cannot wait till June when i am back.

Sorry me again! Have been told that apartment only 60 metres from Mermaids yet someone stated on here that its 10 min walk to centre? Something doesnt add up!

Coming here in july , booked direct and have got pool view Is this ok as conflicting views on this page? Just wondered what the general noise level was like Thanks

Just wanted to say how great the pool bar was on a night. The cocktails were great and the staff so friendly. Demetri I hope you enjoy England as much as I enjoyed Zante. If you every get a chance visit the north east. Hope to see you next year.

Stayed for a week in July and then again for a week in August. Rooms are big, clean and well maintained. Both day and night Bar staff brilliant. good atmosphere round the clock, peacefull and still fun. Best place i stayed in Kalamaki so far, and it won't be the last time i visit. See you all next summer guys xxxx

I read through all of the comments here ... the Brummie guy was NOT mentioned once unless his name is Dimitris or something which I highly doubt. HE was the star for us... my mum, dad and sister. He spoke to us and made us feel very welcome when we used the bar at night. By far, one of the best places for chill out... Uh, what is his name ?!?!

Went 16th May for 1 week. Stayed at Vanessa again. Brilliant place to stay. The apartments are really spacious, pool very clean and pool bar food really good and cheap. Fotis, Dimitris and family are so helpful. Free pickup and return to the airport. As usual had a great time and thanks to all at Vanessa for once again. See you all in early October.

Hi guys. Thought it was about time i entered a comment on here seens as we stayed for a quite a while!! Vanessa's was our humble abode for about 2 months this summer, whilst myself and 3 friends worked on the island. Although we weren't quite the dream guests, we did enjoy many a happy times at the hotel, fotis and dimitri were great fun and always managed to keep as entertained with late night drinks and tv. We were all fortunate enough to enjoy a great summer, on a beautiful island with some great friends. Hope the forthcoming season is just as profitable as the last. Thanks for everything Nafte's.

Just come back after a great stay at the Vanessa! Booked it direct with Fotis.really friendly guy,he even took us back the the Airport.
Apartments are really spacious and clean and have very big Balconys.We stayed in a Studio overlooking the pool,i wouldnt of liked to be in a apartment at the back as the view wasnt very nice. The only issue we had was the Bathroom could of had a toilet bin and maybe the towels changed a bit more regulary.
The pool bar is really cheap...prices between 1.50-1.80 Euros for things like Toastie and Chips!!
Location is excellent only a 10 minute walk into the centre down the main road,and maybe a 15 min walk to the beach. There is a good supermarket nearby called the Denise which is really cheap.
Definatley would go back,had a great stay!

Just come back after booking direct from comments on this site.Fortis is one of the most helpful hoteliers I've met.Nothing a problem and anything to help.Bar food well priced.Excellent pool and large spacious rooms although could have had towels changed more regular but thats down to the cleaners.A real family run affair and I needn't of worried about booking direct as picked up at airport as arranged and rooms as described.Get fans for the rooms though.

We booked to stay at the Vanessa hotel because of the positive comments we read on this website. It is excellent for families and the family who run the hotel cannot do enough to help you. The rooms are basic but have all that you need and are very clean. Fans are available as the rooms can get very hot.Rooms facing the pool have the best view and are handy if your kids are in the pool. The hotel has a bar and serves snacks in the daytime that are very reasonably priced. We had an excellent holiday and would certainly go back.

We have stayed at the Vanessa for the past 2 years. Last time was in June when a party of 5 went. We had two apartments. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Fotis and Dimitri are really helpful. fotis even gave us a lift to Laganas and did not charge us. They pick you up at the airport and take you back at no extra charge. Its is all very laid back. Total chill out place. The pool is lovely. The snacks at the pool bar are good and all in all a brilliant place to stay. We are going back in September - got flight only - works out very cheap.

Although i did not stay here i did use the fab pool, bar and sampled the food. We all thought it was a nice hotle although did not go inside. It situated about 15 mins from the beach, and on a quiter stretch of the main resort road. Ideal location as 3 mins from airport however the planes do not run at night so their is no noise problems. Anymore questions i will be glad to help. Oh and the drinks were resonable.

There are no comments on the Vanessa for this season yet it was open when we were over in June. Looking to go back in September and need somewhere reasonable to stay - booking via a tour operator for the dates we have are proving difficult so thought we might try and do it ourselves.

well what can i say my wife and i went there for our wedding anniversary and her birthday and it was great very clean nice big rooms lovely pool not too large though very friendly staff kalamaki is great it was quieter than its noisy neighbour laganas merlis car rental was very good the island is well worth touring around very pretty the holiday overall in my opinion got 10/10 many thanks to the hotel vanessa for there very warm welcome and hospitality see you next year darron and tracy

Vanessa's is like my greek home, Vanessa and Stimatis are great and if you take the time to get to know them they are very warm and welcoming people although always very busy!! Fortis and Dimitri are fantastic guys who became wonderful friends of ours and showed us the magic of this island first hand!! I recommend this place over any other and i love the guys who own and run it they are fantastic!!! Keep going peeps and we will see you all very soon i hope xxxx Thanks for many great summers.

What a great place to stay in Kalamaki. Our party of 10 adults and 10 children were there on 06-09-01 for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. The apartments are typically Greek (basic but clean) the ppol is great, cool fresh water, with lots of sunbeds and a separate kids area with slide. The Apartments are well situated on the edge of the town close to some very lively bars, Downunder and Angels. Some good restaurants, though the Snacks served all day were pretty good washed down with £1 per pint Lager. 15 minutes from the beach, 5 miles from Laganas with the friendliest barman in Greece, a great place to stay, "Hello Demitrus", Up The Baggies, and hope to be back soon.

Just arrived home from two extremely enjoyable weeks at the vanessa apts! The owner doesnt look extremely pleased at all, but he always speaks and he will help you no matter what! Demitri behind the bar is one of the most helpful and nice people i saw/met on the island! The pool is pure class, and the food at the bar is lovely! Overall - COME TO THIS HOTEL!

Just arrived home today after two wonderful weeks at the Vanessa. The place is ideal for families. The rooms are quite basic but okay for 2 weeks!One can rule out any ideas of cooking even a snack as 2 hotplates and plastic bowls are no use. Nevertheless, pool excellent, staff very helpful and obliging. We met many new friends and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Kalamaki- we will be back; oh, and the beach is ....that way!!

Well it certainly lived up to expectations, the pool, food, bar and the room were all up to a good standard. However, try to get a room on the 1st floor as the seem to be of a better standard than the ones on the bottom floor even altough it is hotter! The staff are friendly and the cleaners are um, strange........ Overall, a great place for families and couples alike.

I'll second the last comment - The sons are very nice chaps though. They will do anything to make your stay enjoyable.

Owner looks unhappy but is always willing to help.Rooms are excellent but cooking facilities are typically Greek (2 hotplates).Rooms cleaned 5x a week, good pool, good location. We went last May/June and would return .Cosmos rep very good. Kalamaki is for a quiet holday and Laganas is only a couple of miles away if you want the action The owner womt allow any noise or trouble
