We really enjoyed our stay at the Diana Palace. We had a fairly spacious room with a nice view over the pool from our balcony. We were a bit disappointed with the food for HB guests but the food from the snack bar was really nice. Stathis, the snack bar waiter, was lovely and really looked after us. We found all the staff to be friendly and polite although we did get told off by the night reception man when we came in a bit worse for wear in the early hours and wanted to get in the pool! I didn't expect to have to pay for air con in the room which was 35 euros a week which I think is a bit expensive. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would certainly go back to the Diana Palace.
Hi, my friend 18, my sister 18, and myself 17, have just booked a holiday to Diana Palace with MyTravel on the 12th of July for £278.00 for a 3/broom Studio Self catering, we where wondering if we will be charged for using the appliances such as kettel, air con.. etc.. and how much will we be charged? And want to know what the rooms are like are they like what i've seen on pictures, and are the situated with a nice view? Is this place good for people of our age as we dont want it to be too lively, but want bars and clubs to be available but so its not too loud when were trien to sleep.. Please help!
argassi was a lovely place to stay on holidays! we had a really good holiday! i got p***kly heat though because the weather was so hot! the hotel was nice but our appartment was situated in the older block so it was not as nice as the newer ones! but nevertheless the stay was really enjoyable and there are plenty of trips tog o on! the turtle journey was a bit disappointing because we only saw one turtle but it was really exciting! the coves and beaches were really nice. the activtes at the beach are a good laugh esp. the doughnuts! all the people over there are so nice! the hotel staff were really helpful and friendly and id like to say a big hi to all the staff in the beer acadamy go there its brill! you cant leave argassi without going the staff in there are top! so overall its a really nice resort!
We stayed at Diana Palace in Sept and myself, my partner and my 3year old son had a wonderful holiday. After checking the website was concerned about the food available as we were booked half board but we need not have worried it was more than acceptable. My partner and son having never been abroad before have now got he bug and want to travel more, we enjoyed it so much we didnt' want to come home! Marco in the evening restaurant was extremely helpful and attentive and Stavros by day in poolside snack bar. But all the staff were lovely and we had no complaints. Argassi is small but busy, unfortunately not much beach. Reccomend a visit ot Banana Beach, St. Nicholas Beach, the Jeep Island discovery. Waves snack bar in Argassi, excellent lunch time escape with friendly staff and reasonable prices. The weather was fantastic for most of our stay with 1 showery day. Met some lovely people, only downside we had to come home! So thumbs up Diana Palace, keep up the good work and may come back to see you again-only thing to keep us away, there is so much of the world to see!
Enjoyed a lovely week in Argassi. The weather was beautiful, and can thoroughly recommend Waves Snack Bar near the Beach. Ok the beach is practically non existent, but you can enjoy lovely meals, and sit at the tables, or lie on the sunbeds for as long as you like, whilst gazing out to sea. The hotel was good, with a lovely pool and garden. Our room was clean, but rather noisy (ground floor) as we were right next to the stairwell (open plan, marble). The clip clop of footsteps went on well into the early hours and kept me awake a couple of nights. As to the food, unfortunately it wasnt as good as we had been led to expect, but other people's recommendations - at least we didnt put on too much weight! The hotel staff were lovely, and friendly. Especially Terry, behind the bar in the lounge - great cocktails.
Myself, husband and 17 year old daughter visited here for the first time. I had read some of the comments about the Diana just before I went and have to admit feeling a little dread at what I might find as there were many poor comments about the size and cleanliness of the room. I have to say that we found the accommodation to be one of the best we have stayed in. We booked a studio for the 3 of us and it was more than adequate with three large beds, built in wardrobe, drawers and dressing table. As we booked self-catering we also had the kitchenette facilities. Other Brits there who had booked half board did say that they would come back but would stay self-catering as the meal combinations were not brilliant. Maid visited every day except Sunday, changed beds and provided fresh towels. The pool area was lovely and although we were there for the busiest two weeks (August) we always got a bed. The entertainment was somewhat basic with quizzes etc but the Greek night on the Saturday was real fun including dancing in the streets. Our room was on the third floor and we had lovely views of the surrounding area. The location was perfect if you left from either the front or the rear you were right in the midst of the area. The tavernas, bars and shops etc were good with lots going on at night. My daughter enjoyed the magic mushroom. Eating out was cheap and good as was provision of products. The best value meal was had at Legends or the Red Lion. The greek tavernas of Zorbas, Afrodite and Possidon were good roof top restaurants, bit more expensive (but cheaper than England!) look out for Pete just opposite the entrance - a real pain, waving arms and shouting to you every time you came out - you got use to being rude in the end and just ignored him! The beach was a bit small and sometimes packed however you can walk along the beach and use many of the beach side hotels facilities at no or very little charge. My daughter and hubby did the paragliding and said it was awesome - there are many other sports availalable. If you like trips try to avoid the whole day boat cruise around the island, although it represents good value only 15 euro - and it is advertised as combining most other trips, it is very tiring and the stops you have are very limited for swimming etc. We plan to return in the future especially when we now know that the Diana takes bookings direct and provides free airport transfers.
Was not the 3 / 4 star as advertised...we stayed in room S2, it was okay, but it was supposed to be a two bedroom apartment. It was more like one bedroom with a another room with a sofa bed with pull out camp bed. Balcony was very small. But we didn't go on holiday to stay in a room. The kitchen could have been cleaned ,more often as we had a dirty tablecloth for over a week.
My family and I are really looking forward to our May holiday at the Diana Palace. We have two children between ages 5 and 7, could you recommend a good restaurant near the hotel? Somewhere has good entertainment even Karoke. We are staying in a two bedroom apartment at the hotel. Any general tips and advice would be great. This holiday means a lot to us, special reason why we have chosen to go in May, had a tragedy last year. Thanks all have a good day.
we are stayin at the diana palace in october, will it be warm? and how do u get in contact with the hotel directley?
Just one more thing, food at the hotel restaurant was excellent, buffet style, lots of local dishes, plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Didnt try it till near the end of the holiday, but was the best quality/value in the resort.
Visited Diana Palace in May 2004 with my wife and 3 kids under 12. Had booked a 2 bedroom apartment SC, but their idea of 2 bedrooms is 1 bedroom with a bed in the tiny living room. Very dissapointed, wasnt even enough chairs round the tiny table to eat breakfast together. Complained to Direct Hols rep who "could do nothing". Pleaded with the hotel management and was rewarded with a much better apartment, although still only one bedroom, but with seperate living room and small kitchen area.
Pool is nice, plenty of free sunbeds, kept pretty clean. Lovely gardens.
The waiter Stathis in the poolside resteraunt was great, everyting a waiter should be and helped make for a great holiday.
No organised entertainment through the day at all, some on the night, but moderate - you need to make your own!.
Eventually found a perfect bar for us and the kids. Turn left out of the hotel, up the bank and left again to the Tropicana. Had a cinema showing the latest films for free and cheap drinks (1.5euro/pint - half the price of many others)Pool tables, Quiz nights which were entertaining.
Local beach was poor, but a cheap taxi ride to Crystal beach or Kalamaki was well worth it)
Some good restaurants, some rubbish. Steer clear of Tiffanys (opposite the hotel) he is a total pest and the food was moderate.
Castaway was a complete rip off, advertising free kids meals, but the bill was higher than anywhere else and the kids portions were tiny. Lots of people trying to drag you into their bars which was annoying, but you get the hang of telling them where to go in the end! Amazing street artist, charcoal drawing of the kids was fantastic, about 60Euro.
Airport was crammed on the way home, make sure you have water/food with you.
Overall - a good holiday, its what you make of it!
I am looking to go to Zante in June with my husband (no kids). We are in our late 30's so still enjoy a night or 7 on the town!!!
I have seen Diana Palace in the brochure and would like your comments as to whether this is a decent pick. We like a nice pool area & pool bar for the day. Accomm we are not over picky about as long as it is clean and has the basics. Any comments would be grateful. Many thanks.
hi , we didnt like the apartments as they were dirty and not cleaned at all we were very dissappointed as our daughter,son-in law & grandaughter loved it and had a very good time. stathis was fab as he knew my family and loved them !!!!!! well have a good holiday and we hope your rooms are clean lol !!
We got married in Zante town at the start of october and had arranged with the hotel to have our reception here. They decorated the restaurant for us with the confetti and ribbon we had brought with us. The food was fantastic and the staff were always at hand when anyone needed anything. Over all the reception couldn't have been any better and we would even suggest that the Diana Palace market themselves as a venue for wedding receptions. A BIG THANK YOU to all the staff who were involved in making our special day perfect!
To Bill,
I have stayed twice at DP on a B/B basis, the first time we had a poolside room and this was quite small, this time we had a room up the side and it was a larger room, there is hardly any drawer space just small top drawers in the bedside cabinet. Hope this helps if you need any more info let me know.
To Ali Ineson,
You wont have a lounge area in a two bed apt you will have two bedrooms one with three beds in and the second bed will have the kitchen in, this has a very small area for the kitchen consists of two ring cooker, fridge, microwave and sink. If you need any more info let me know have just returned on Thursday from Diana Palace it was our second visit.
hey to everyone at diana palace!!! only just come back and enjoyed all of it everyone at the hotel is really friendly!!!!! alex stathis and terry all made the holiday! hope to go back there again nxt year!!!!!!!!!
Hiya, We are comming to the Diana Palace next year and are concerned that our two bedroomed appartment wont have a lounge area. The party will consist of :- mum+dad, one son and two daughters. we need two bedrooms and lounge, will we get it?
My partner and I stayed 16th-24th May 2004. I was really dissapointed with the rooms at first, as they were not decorated like brouchure said, then I realised I had a non catering room which were better, Having said that I loved the room as it was up high and had view to die for, it also got sun until late in the evening, and that was nice. Argassi was lovely, although I dont know if I would have enjoyed it in high season. I would like to also praise 'Terry' the barman, whose real name I will not reveal!!!! but yes he makes the best cocktails, and can somebody say linda and toby say hi? (the couple that took home a bottle of liquer)
Argassi has a great free bus to St Nicks beach, which has water sports, and is beautiful. Also recomend Nanas Horses which if your butt can take it is fantastic. I didnt think much of the hotel food, but the service and atmosphere make up for it. The maids clean rooms wonderfully, and the place was very clean. Ive also had the best fry up of my life, at 'waves' cafe on argassi beach. Go there if you are prepared to go to beaches elswhere. Banana beach will cost you ten euro also a lovely place. The scooter situation is awful do think twice.
happy hols
it was our 3rd time in zante n we stayd at the diana palace. the people r very friendly esspecially the barman. i ad a fantastic 15th birthday!! n we r hopin 2 go again in october will it be warm?
I STAYED AT THE DIANA PALACE HOTEL WITH MY FAMILY ON THE 22ND OF JULY TOO THE 5TH OF AUGUST!! ALL THE STAFF WERE REALLY FRIENDLY! ESPECIALLY ALEX AND TERRY THE BAR MEN!! THEY ARE REALLY GORGEOUS TOO! WOULD DEFINATELY GO BACK!! GOIN TO SUGGEST IT TO MY MATES AS THE FACTORY BAR ACROSS THE ROAD WAS EXCELLENT AND I WAS THERE EVERY NIGHT!! ABSOLOUTELY LOVED IT!!
We have just got back from the Diane Palace Hotel, the staff were so friendly, Lisa the MyTravel Rep was lovely and very helpful. The rooms were very clean. We stayed in a self catering appartment. We had a microwave, toaster and two electric rings plus a fridge. The airconditioning was not too expensive and well worth the money. We ate in the buffet restaurant every evening which was lovely. As much as you could eat for nine euros. The selection was really good. The only downside of the holiday was the lack of a decent beach at Agassi. We took a taxi to Kalamaki and Laguna which was not too expensive.
My boyfriend and I went to Diana Palace from 8/7/04 - 15/7/04 and we both absolutley loved it. For both of us it was our first holiday without our parents and I don't think we could of picked a better place. We loved the Waves Bar, which is straight down the road on the beach, and went there nearly every day, if you go definitley go on a sat night!!! Avoid tiffany's :) and dont get a henna tattoo as Iv had a bad experience from that! Also every night we had a cocktail from the hotel bar, which was a great start to every evening, and the barman, Terry, was very friendly. Try summer on ecstacy and purple rain!! If you do go have a fantastic time, just like we did.
Reception, pool and bar areas are all lovely, self catering apartments are VERY VERY basic but hotel looks OK. If returning to Argassi would definetly not stay self catering at Diana Palace, kitchen area is tiny and we had no "living/sitting" area.
65 euros for air-con and 35 euros for a safety deposit box for the fortnight.
We (boyfriend and I) have just returned from Zante, had an excellent week.
Our room was great, everything we needed and it was clean! We were in self catering and had everything you needed (microwave, cooker, toaster, kettle all the basics) however we found it was a lot cheaper to eat out then to stay in. We saved money by taking a small bag of pasta and a couple of 'stir in' sauces, and this povided us our lunches saving us 5 euros each!!
The air con we did pay for and the safety deposit box that probably cost us about £50 but we were greatful for the air con as it was hot!!
The pool is nice, lots of sunbeds. The only thing is that we both needed factor 15 all week as there isn't many umberella's and not much shadey areas!
The other thing I'd suggest if you are going out is to hire a car, as we saw everything.. we went all round the island -defintaly worth it!
i totally agree with carmen, those resteraunts are fab. do not go to tffanys, that little peter is an ignoramus and the food is poor.
Me and my partner stayed at diana palace hotel 01/07/04 - 08/04/04, we thought the rooms were VERY basic although very clean, the poolside is also very nice. the nightlife is quite lively although it is no ibiza! (if your'e looking for a clubbing holiday, i suggest lagana.) If your'e self catering, castaways resteraunt, nostalgia and tangail have a fantastic food, highly recommended! would go back tomorrow if i could but the airport is a total disgrace.
We are going to the Diana Palace Hotel next week and hear that it's extremely hot in Zante at the moment. Does anyone know whether there is aircon in all the self catering studios? The travel agent said there probably will be and you just pay an extra cost when you're there, but it says in the brochure that it's only available in some rooms? Thanks
There are safety deposit boxes at the Diana Palace. They are available to all guests and are in the reception area. Hope this helps
We will be staying at the Diane Palace in July. Can anybody tell me if there are any safety deposit boxes. We will be staying self catering in a studio.
We are booked to stay at the Diana Palace in July. Can anyone tell me if they have got safety deposit boxes available, we are staying self catering in a studio.
hi people it was a great hotel!!we appologise to the cleaner cause we were never up for her to do our room!i say hello to all the staff take care love the crazy girls kel n jen room 205!!!
we were there last august. one of the best holidays i have ever had.will go back there . our rep was hopeless {airtours>but we didnt let that get to us . fab holiday ,fab place .a bit spooked about the airport though.
1st its not a 4 star but is clean and we cannot say any think was bad.
but it is basic and not a lot for kids to do!!
if i am going to upset any fans of this hotel i would say if you have kids then go for a place with a better beach as argassi has no beach and if your kids got fed up with this hotel its no better at the beach! sorry but its only what i thought and my wife says dito .
We have just arrived back from Diana Palace, Zante. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Argassi, although it could not be possible without the wit and humour of Stathis the waiter and Terry the barman in Reception. If anyone is going, please pass on our sincere thanks and praise to Terry and Stathis as they made our holiday. Also Beer Academy is excellent.
There is Fridges available at the Diana palace. If you are staying in the hotel then you can either hire the fridge in your room as a mini bar or an empty fridge you can put things in. If you are staying self catering then there is a fridge in your room to use. hope this help.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS A FRIDGE IN THE HOTEL ROOMS AT THE DIANA PALACE
Zakynthos is the BEST wish i was there now! DIANA PALACE is NO1
Louise Cunningham (April 15, 2004)- The pool is lovely but it is clorine based but not to strong. Hope you enjoy your visit we have for the last 4 years it is a fantastic friendly place.
Diana Palace Fantastic
hello all i am going to the Diana Palace Hotel this May. Could anyone tell me if the pool is fresh salt water of if it is chlorine based thank you
Graham and Ami were excellent and such a laugh when you saw them out on a night.
thanks for the advice Leanne whats with the airport?
Hi Claudia
We were Argassi sep/oct this year and saw the Diana hotel -looks very nice.
Yes I'm afraid that places were shutting down rapidly by the time we left, but saying that it is half term so things may hot up a bit for the final fling.
Don't worry about the kids as if they are like mine (14) they will be in the Factory bar everynite, just watch as the bar will give them shots with every drink, I didn't mind the girls having a breezer or cocktail but had to draw the line with shots.
Argassi is nice and you do feel safe.
If you decide to go on a tour of the Island please go and see Karen at Smile tours -she is ever so nice -and English, she will put you right.
Hope this has helped and have a good hols.
Leanne

p.s
just wait until you see the airport :(((((
thanks for your help vince and john AND julie. will there be alot of places closed for the season when we arrive on 23rd October and will it be chilly in the evenings
Fantastic place would want to go anywhere else. All the staff are fantastic with the kids and are so friendly. Tracey the Airtours rep a chocolate teapot would have been more use, and also do pin your hopes on the kids club again run by aiurs as it was closed more than it was open.
I have stayed in the Diana Palace for 4 years running now and wouldn't consider anywhere else.
claudia perry (October 07, 2003Hi Just come back after our 4th visit fantastic place Akis the bar man Sakis the night porter Gina the manager and Nikos across the road at super market dolphin all fantastic people very highly recommended. Avoid tiffanys restaurant though right opposite. Say from Johnathan and Julie if I can help anymore just ask

hey its donna thanks 4 a great holiday it was my best holiday ever and thanks to atkis (federico) who made my peach snapps and lemonde so mint. thanks to tula for bein so lovely with the baby jordan. i cant wait to come back nexy year thank u so much x
i complety agree with the previous comment, rude, unhelpful, need customer service training! I really hope that some one from airtours reads this web-site and gives that girl the help and training she most urgently needs otherwise this fablous complex will loose alot of customers.
I recently stayed at the diana palace and had a fantastic time, the only problem I had with the holiday was the rep. She was extremely unhelpful, terribly rude and not a credit to the company as she should be. I have never travelled with Airtours before and thanks to TRACEY i will never travel with them again. The hotel is of a fantastic standard, rooms are very clean and the staff are excellent. Big hello to Elenni, Dimitra and especislly Akis. Thank you to the HOTEL STAFF for making our holiday. We are returning to the Diana Palace next year and HOPE TRACEY WONT BE THERE!!!!!!!!!
thanks tony we will take are kettle that will keep the wife happy.is it a nice place to stay the diana palace? the island of zanty is nice we have been befor this is the 4th visit.if there is anything u can think of that will help us please let us no my e-mail is debvince69@hotmail.com thanks vince
Vince.. we went last Sept to Diana Palace and stayed B/B there are no facilities in the room to make tea, there is a fridge which you pay extra for and thats it.
Dont know if you know anything about the breakfasts but there is cake, crackers, bread, toast, cereal, yoghurt, jelly, fruit, ham cheese, small amount of bacon, eggs, beans and juice plus tea & coffee something for everyone (hopefully) need any more info give us an e-mail.
Tony
hi we are going to diana palace on oct 1st b&b can you make a cup of tea in your room and what is the weather like in oct?. there are 4 of us 2ad and 2 in there teens we are going from east mids airport bye for now see you soon
i am going to Diana Palace apartments in Oct 2003 with my husband and 13yr old son... can any one tell me what the rooms are like. i have a 2bdrm aprt booked?
I have just returned from the diana palace and although the porto illiessa where we stayed in june was nicer the air conditioning here was fantastic. We are looking to return next june and i was wondering if anyone has stayed there in june before, whether they will let you have the air conditioning on being as you pay extra for it anyway. Most hotels will only have it on in july and august and the brochure doesn't seem to be up to date because it says you can only have it on for 7 hours a day but we was given a control for it and could use it as and when we wanted. Also we stayed bed and breakfast because we was told that these are the only rooms that have it but would rather stay self catering so if anyone knows whether these rooms have it aswll any info would be appreciated
diana palace iz a brilliant place 2go,u can never get bored, they av got sky tv and a pool table, and as soon az u go out of the hotel everything iz there like reserants and shopz,if u r going any date between the 25th of aug and the 5th of sept, then look out 4 a lad called russel(i think datz how u spell hiz name) cuz hez fit.i just didnt wanna go.i loved it der and the pool is massive and the food there is gr8
just in case any1 knowz me from when they was on holiday the same time az me then my email address is jenzymilz@hotmail.com
Nice hotel. Clean towels and sheets everyday. Central to the resort beach 2 mins walk as are most of the highly rated restaurants on this site.Agree about Tiffanys!! Try to avoid.Dont book the Airtours trips on first night, the local agents are much much cheaper.
hi there we just got back from the diana palace on the 07-08-03 we really enjoyed it in zante and we would reccomend this hotel to anyone. Altough we stayed in room 205 and the noise from the factory club did get on our nerves a little bit but wasnt too bad. we would like to say hello to all the staff they were excellent and very helpfull especially stathis and eleni.DONT GO TO TIFANY`S over the road the man threatened to kill me for complaining!
we are going to the diana palace aparthotel b and b in oct-1-3000 for 1 week ages are 47 41 16 14. can u make a cup of tea in your room? is the weather good in oct? and can u get english beer at the bar? if you are going this time of the year. we are the lot from leicester.you will no me with the big tatoo on my back.
Although the description in the Thomson brochure was completely inaccurate (the picture was of teh Museum of Byzantine Art in Zante Town) this was still an excellent hotel. Located across the road from The Factory, it got a little loud but music stopped by 1am. Centrally located for everything, breakfast was good and so was the pool. Definately would go there again
hiya people, we are just back from diana palace........place was excellent, staff very friendly,,,,,,,,,especially Stathis and Denise ( the people who will serve you great breakfasts & cold lager!!! )
anyone going tell Stathis that john, maureen & holly where aking for him,
