Dora Studios

Arrived at Dora's and met by Dora herself. Very welcoming and helpful, especially considering we paid for a fan and safety deposit box, which we had to ask twice to obtain the fan, and took 3 times to get the correct key for the box. Panos ( Dora's husband ) was friendly, always seemed to be doing the general maintenance. Demetri who is the son and also in charge of the bar was a smashing bloke, very friendly, and not a bad DJ, who enjoyed his music. Tassia the cook/bar person was friendly, hard working and a reasonable chef. Jo who is Demetri's wife, is a little bit snobbish. Obviously not used to people enjoying themselves and having a giggle whilst having a drink at the bar area. It was different for her when they were joined by some friends, as the music volume increased until the early hours. The apartment 1 is on the ground floor overlooking the pool, basic but clean, with very limited self catering facilities. The pool was nice and spacious, no ball games were allowed, and closed at 6pm unless u was Greek. No drinks served at the bar after 1am, at which time they expected the atmosphere to change from a happy poolside bar to a mortuary within minutes. If you require or would like a drink after 1am, the town bars were still open. There was a bbq on the Friday night which cost 15 Euro's per adult, 7.50 Euro's per child. We didnt attend as we dont eat bbq'd food and we didnt like what was on the menu. Thats when the most of the friendliness stopped. Demetri and Tassia was ok, but Dora and Panos were off hand after that, speaking very little. The apartments were ok for a couple who wanted a quiet holiday together, but not really a family complex as there isnt a great deal to keep the kids amused. One day we may return to Zante, but will stay in a hotel on the seafront/beach. The Xenos Kamara Beach is a better bet if you have children, as there is plenty to keep them occupied. Had a great time with Steve and Mandy from London, Andrew and Amanda from Matlock, and Tony and Diane from Birmingham, just to mention a few. All in all we had a good time in which we also celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary. Thanks to all who have provided us with happy and fond memories. The Mad Couple from Blackpool.

Have just come back from Dora's and we had a fantastic holiday. The apartments were clean and spacious, the pool even cleaner and well looked after. The family:- Panyos, Dora, Dimitri and Jo, were very friendly and helpful. The BBQ night is a must - delicious food and greek dancing - what more could a girl ask for! Free shots? we got them too! Many thanks to the gang of 16 that made our holiday truly memorable.

Had two weeks at Dora's at the end of May and had the best holiday ever. Couldn't fault our accommodation in the apartments and the family and their staff made us so welcome. Many a night enjoyed in the bar on the 'Dimitris Specials!' and socialising with the other people ataying there. Fantastic, loved it so much already booked to go back next year.

We have just returned from Doras had the best holiday ever, everyone is so friendly. Dora and family are always ready to help. Plenty to do in Argassi went on island tour and turtle spotting both booked with Spring tours {cheapest we found}.Great places to eat only one to avoid was the chinese eat as much as you like buffet food was crap.We would definitely go back to Doras and Argassi.

Not long been back from Dora and had a great time. The place is basic but is so friendly it didnt matter. Its prob best to stay in one of the apartments pictured, we got a studio and was very suprised how basic it acutally was (no shower curtain and have to hold the shower head, no lock on the bathroom door) The rooms were cleaned everyday but sunday. Dimitris is really friendly he kept givin us shots of vodka every 10minutes! Id def go back again! you have to go on the wet and wild watersports trip to Alykes and do the paracendin, its great!!!

Although the doras looks great in the brochure make sure you get one of the rooms that are actually shown in it and not one of the others as they are much older and are not as modern as the brochure pictures. These rooms also are VERY prone to all the little flying sods you get.But apart from the room the rest of the hotel is brilliant, staff and bar snacks excellent.

Would just like to say that i stayed at doras a year or two ago and have not found anywhere better in other parts of Greece i have since visited,p.s good luck in euro 2004 final tonight,hope you can do it!yamas Nikos and co for a great holiday.

My partner and myself have just returned from Dora studio's. The rooms were cleaned 6 days a week with towels being changed twice a week. All staff were very friendly, Dora, her husband Panyos, and their son (and bar owner) Demetris (and the cleaner whos name we cannot remember). The grounds are spotless including the gardens and the pool area. The bar serves good food and a good selection of drinks, all of which are very well priced. Demetris speaks the best English, and even cooked a couple of friends we met a pizza at 23:00 (they stop serving food at 18:00). One thing to be carful about if you are drinking at the bar and are friendly and sociable, Demtris is a very happy sociable person who like Jack Daniels (well drinking it with guests he like any way), so do not be suprised if he come's to see you with shot glasses full of JD. We're just back from Dora's apartments. Best we have seen in Greece. There is a proper door between rooms but a one bedroom apartment is very small for four unless two are just children or you intend to use appartment only for sleeping. As is usual in places like this with tile floors you can hear everthing in neighbouring apartments never mind in the next room!!

Could have done with clean towels more often but staff were friendly and helpfull. Bar prices were reasonable compared to other places and food reasonable.

I have read very positive comments about the Dora.All I would like to know is if the apartments actually have a separate bedroom with a door rather than a screen as we are taking along my daughter and her friend and they will be 14 yrs and will need a privacy.We are already booked for next year and already really looking forward toit.

We just got back from Dora's on Tuesaday had a fab time, the studios were very basic but very clean, the staff are lovley, Nicos and Dimitris were great, a very friendly, family run place, the bar is a great place to have a drink after a meal and before bed.Laura, Paul, Ethan and Granny>

Been to Doras twice now & will certainly be going back again. My sister works over there in a tourist shop so can't wait to see her again. It's the only time i get to see her is when i go on holiday so what better excuse to get away to Doras. Lovely people & lovely pool, very clean & tidy & everybody is really friendly. I will be going back in September for 2 weeks & can't wait to see everyone especially my sister. I would recomend it to Everybody. Come on give it a try.

My young daughter and I went in May 2000. We loved it! Dora is lovely and the lads Nicos and Dimitri were great. The rooms were clean, the pool was fab even for the little ones. The atmosphere was very chilled out. We are visiting Zante again this June unfortunately not Argassi but we shall definately visit for a snack and a drink!!!

Felt very lucky to have picked the Dora apartments.The place was a haven with chilled out music and free flowing jack daniels at the bar! Great for couples and families with a good pool.

Me and two friends went this time last year and had a fantastic stay here, I strongly recommend it. The rooms are spacious& clean and tastefully decorated. It was lovely and quiet except for some big gob woman who constantly screamed at her poor 2 kids whilst singing a crappy Mel B song. The music at the bar is fantastic and chilled, and the family is very friendly and helpful. Bless Dora she even gives you a kiss when you're going home! Don't consider staying anywhere else!

Just back after 2 weeks including several rainey days in August/September !! but the friendley guests and staff made it still a great holiday. The pool is cared for by a ver attentive owner

First comment SUPERB....... Only critisism; Don't go there if you want to cook meals every night ! The self catering facilities are... um ..basic. However, this is not a critism. We never even turned the cooker on. If you are a sad Brit who demands a cooked breakfast...go to Brighton. Doras Apartments are without doubt the best Zante has to offer. There is a magnificent family atmosphere. Dora and her family with the son and cousin duo of Dimitri and Nikos entertaining and mixing the drinks (and music) behind the bar are second to none. The pool area which was inhabited by families was always immaculate and never got overcrowded, even during the peak season of August. My whole family loved every minute of it. We were two adults 32 & 29 and two children of 10 & 8. Don't think twice, go to Doras, you will not regret it.

The dora aprtments,what can i say!everyone staying there had no complaints at all, the atmosphere around the pool and bar is fab and i loved every minuite of it!i thought i would hate going back to the apartment after a good night in the factory, but it was quiet and relaxin and everything u wud need for a gud nights sleep!then in the morning, get up ad have them gorgeous bacon and cheese tosties made by dimitrius and nik at the pool bar.as somee has already said, they re very strict about pool games etc.. but they play gud music at the pool bar!im going back next yerfor definate i wasthe best ever!

Excellent holiday. Had a really good time. Nikos and Dimitri are brilliant,lots of fun. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Only bad point is that they are very strict about the pool, NO diving, NO jumping and NO ball games.

Dora's is great, the apartments are probably some of the most modern you'll find in Greece. We spent every night at the bar with Nikos & Dimitri, didn't go anywhere else to drink (recommend the Banana Boat). The pool at the Palmyra is big but also very noisy, Dora's is smaller but probably a lot cleaner. When they take you to the apartments it seems as though it's in the middle of no where but its actually only about 1 min walk from the town centre and still quiet at night. We would definately go back.

would just like to ask any-one who has been to the DORA APARTMENTS, seems asthough I can't actually access the site. I wanted to know what facilities there was at the DORA APARTMENTS and whether or not it was up a hill and, was there any problem in usiong the larger pool in the neighbouring hotel as I believe it is bigger?!?!?!???

The apartments are some of the best we have stayed in. The bar is open late the coctails and the FREE samples are a speciality of the house. The family that own and run the apartments are very helpfull and friendly. The Dora apartments are very near the centre of argassi but far enough away not to notice any loud music etc. We would not hesitate in reccomending these apartments to anybody. Haveing just got back to wet and cold England I can highly recomend the Dora apartments. The bar is the place to be for killer cocktails thanks to Nikos and Dimitri. Dora couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and the holiday was one of the most relaxing. Shame you have to come home!!

I'm staying at doras in june 2002, would just like to say that the pictures on the web site are lovely, although some pages are still under construction, they've done a great job - can't wait to get out there!

I have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Dora appartments in Argassi, if you are unsure of where you want to stay,trust me THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Four of us went and we were all agreeed that there is no better place in Argassi. Dora was wonderfull, very friendly and helpfull. Nikos and Dimitri on the other hand, they are two CRAZY guys!! but they will keep your glasses and bellies full and trust me they do it in style. Can't wait to go back next year!

EXCELLENT APARTMENTS, VERY CLEAN & MODERN. AIR-CONDITIONED WHICH WAS EXCELLENT IN THE APARTMENT WE STAYED IN BUT NOT AVAILABLE IN THE STUDIOS. KIDS HAD GREAT TIME IN THE POOL & BAR. EXCELLENT FOOD & GREAT COCKTAILS. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

These are the best apartments we have ever stayed in, having visited several Greek Islands. They are spotlessly clean and spacious. We had the most brilliant holiday lazing by the beautiful pool. Dora and her family are so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble to them. Nicos made the best cocktails and Dimitri the tastiest snacks. Addition to previous comment - Nickos was a darling he kept the pool open past it's closing time as we were enjoying it so much!!!! Try a 'special burger' at the bar and one of Nickos' Kahlua, cream and cinnamon shots - delicious!! Don't think about booking a holiday at Dora apartments - JUST DO IT!!!!

Wonderful, family run apartments. Spacious, very clean, excellent pool and the best bar staff in Zante. We took two children aged 3 & 5 and it was our best holiday. Very hot and plenty to do in surrounding areas. Am going to book for next year.

The studios and apartment are quality. The staff are friendly and are always willing to help. If anyone goes mention my name and say i recommended it to you. The bar is good and Nicos and Dimitris are cool and know how to pour a measure of Jack Daniels unlike the bars in England. If you don't want it to noisy and want to relax and chill out for your holiday this is the place to go.

My family and I are going to the Dora Appartments in August 2001. Anybody out there been before? We would love to know what you thought about them.
