we have stayed at this hotel 3 times, twice in main building and once in annexe.Rooms are very basic but clean and comfortable. Its family run, the pool is great, there is just a short walk to the beach with a cafe right next to sea. the cocktails are lethal and the bar area is spacious.Small play area for children, went on see saw after a few cocktails, fell off and got covered in mud, but had a laugh. There are taxis waiting outside to take you anywhere on isalnd, Laganas is great for clubbing but kalamaki itself is great for family beach holidays. Try Paulos restaurant (up the road and turn right)Fantastic food and friendly staff. Mermaids have a greek evening which is entertaining and free but you have to book a meal there on that night. Well worth it. Every restaurant we tried had fantastic food and cheap booze.Dont worry about aircraft noises, just to see the planes coming in to land just above your heads is a great experience.We didnt get up for breakfast very often as we were out to late but when we did, it was very adequate. Dont dance with the greek dancers if ur wearing a skirt, they will spin u around on their head, then when they put u down, they lift up ur skirt and show every one ur bum!

stayed here about 3 yrs ago, if you want to stay here, and jmc aint doing it no more, try a flight only and book it when u get there..

dont think u can hire a fridge. As for the location, it is about 200m from the main road, right next to the beach. Its not in the main part of kalamaki, it's the other end, towards laganas.

got back yesterday. Had the best time ever in rescue. How can anyone not have fun when tyson, sy, lefteris, craig, taki, demetri etc etc are there... how great r those guys!

dark, smally and not very big. It looks ok from the outside, but there is no room to dance inside. the only good thing about this place is that the toilets had toilet roll, maybe thats cos no one wanted to go in there becos the door didnt lock, or even shut!

great place. good music. enough room to dance. Nice to sit outside to. Can be a bit of a problem getting up and down the stairs when u r drunk... but it just adds to the fun :D

Another year in Zante, and back to Fanari AGAIN! Good food especialy the yummy roast potatoes. Strange to be asked if u would like roast potatoes, jacket potatoes or chips with ur food.
Not bad looking waiters (Haha Vasilis!) and Spiros is sweet.

Out of the 6 times we have stayed in zante, this was definatly the best hotel! Our room was great, had 6 beds and only 2 of us staying here!! loads of room! Bathroom was big and even had a bath (unusual in Zante) Rooms cleaned 5 days outa the 7, and the bins emptyed every day. Evening entertainment most nights great for kids and familys. Had kids clubs to. short walk to beach, but further to kalamaki town. (taki rank right out side). there was aircraft noise, but wasnt distubing as they didnt fly through the night. Thanx to all the staff at Marelen from room 404!

Very Cheap internet.. its a place for men.. theres always football on. When we were there there was always a women at the bar smokin weed!

Stayed in Marelen but came here everyday for lunch (lovely pizzas) and to go in the pool and straight down to the beach. Has a peacful friendly atmosphere and Nikos, the barman, is a lovely chap. From Kalamaki Beach Regualars XxX

lovely food, but small portions compared to other restaurants in kalamaki.

its the only taverna on the beach. serves basic food, but reasonably priced and tastes good.
staff are friendly and very welcoming.

A bit disapointed with mikaelos as it wasnt quite as good as we all expected from reading the good comments on justzante. Still, the food was really tasty and service good, just smaller portions compared to other restaurants.

stayed here 2nd - 9th july! the pool is really clean and reasonable size. breakfast pretty basic, altho i only got up once for it. rooms average size and cleaned nearly everyday, bit of a squeeze for 3. no air - con but fans supplied in each room. its a 5 min walk to the beach and a bit further to the kalamaki - laganas main road. hello to any staff that remember us. pics in the gallery! :)

Have to agree with Lyndsey, totaly dif from 2003. looks great! never stayed here this yr, but visited many times!
We were at the bar the night greece won the football. FANTASTIC!

Spamos, we had 3 mousaka's and cant remember what the others had. its was a smallish sized slice with a bit of salad. Most restaurants in kalamaki will give it to u in a pot, and serve it with salad and some kind of potato. Not saying it was bad, just expected more.
