great bar and great people, jimmy you are a star, always a smile and good service. george is a very funny man, best bar anywhere.
just got back after another great two weeks, spent a lot of time here, lots of laughs, good breakfasts. athena is so nice and tassos is a star.
our 6th time in kalamaki, always visit parthenon at least once, always good food, service, and value. had relatives with children with us this time and the waiters made them feel extra special, there is such a good atmosphere, had a hard time getting the kids to try anywhere else. country lamb is mouth watering.
excellent bar with good entertainment, had some great nights in here, i promise next year i will sing on the kareoke (if i am drunk enough) spiros take note. a big hello to brian and heather from my sister in law bridgette (the cider drinking rugby playing 'dyke')
we stayed here in september, cos the cronulla was full. it was ok as somewhere to base ourselves, not impressed by the really, really slippy pool area, yes there are notices, but most of our party took some nasty falls, other than that it was clean, the bar was fine, won the quiz, (had to jump in the pool at midnight in order to claim our prize, which was a laugh) the shop was a little more expensive than the local supermarkets but not as you would notice, nice people, great holiday (as always) but will book earlier next time as the cronulla is still our favorite.
brilliant,peaceful, lovely setting. fantastic views.
had great meals, service was brilliant, waiters were very nice, fabulous puddings with sparklers in, laughed a lot. david aged 10
best place for a pizza, salad and a few drinks. always good service and value for money, the mixed starter platter is huge,
7 times in 6 years, must be the best....dont miss the greek night, and make sure you dont eat anything all day, great food and plenty of it, dia, steve, jimmy, george, little tom and the rest.. wonderful people who work really hard to make sure your holiday is a good one,
ate here a few times, mostly breakfast which is very good, evening meals are huge and value for money. why are people slagging people off on here?, surely its all about personal opinions and experiences?.we like mermaids, not for the authentic taverna experience, but we do like it, the quiz is good, we won again, will see you later in the year,
brilliant as always, lamb kleftico melts in your mouth and the chocolate mousse is to die for, good service, value for money, dennis is a star
the food was good, as always, ok its a little more expensive but its worth it, had steak and it was cooked to perfection, strawberries and ice cream for afters.. surroundings are beautiful
june is definately the best time to visit, however got back on sunday and it was the hottest i've known it in 7 years. the turtles were out in the bay, the nightlife was good, the food was brilliant, and the people are lovely, will be back in september... cant wait till next year. had too good a time
lots of laughs in here, omg i sang on the kareoke.. not once but several times. oh dear, the poor audience... heather, brian, spiro and the rest. you are brilliant. good cocktails and loads of free shots
we have been in october before and if you dont like it too hot, then its ideal, might need a cardie for the evenings occasionally, the resorts are starting to wind down for the end of the season so lots of bargains to be had, it was nice but prefer june so we can see the turtles. face it people..anytime in zante is going to be good
been a couple of times in september, its nice, not uncomfortably hot. can have a little rain, but it doent last long and the thunderstorms are fabulous. oh and might get a little earthquake, something to talk about when you get home! will get a nice tan.
sorry people, not impressed. ok for a quick one but that it all
we love this bar... loud and large.... brilliant barstaff, good music. lots of laughs, why do the supporters of angels slag this place off so much, come on guys, theres enough business for all!
nick is back in charge again, really really good bar, good quizzes, laughs, nice barstaff, good food, and some excellent music. fantastic.
we really liked it here, the minestrone soup was brilliant, the chicken con pollo was good as are the pizzas, the spaghetti bolognese is the best i've ever had. will be back.
had breakfast here a couple of times and it was realy nice, especially the omelettes, i find the previous comment a little hard to fathom, all the staff seemed happy when i was there.
ate here twice recently and the special omelettes are to die for, the service is excellent and its really cheap for good food.

love this place, really good fresh food, exactly how you like it. great breakfasts and the club sandwiches are excellent, try the barbecue, its once a week, but great food and great value for money. thanks dia, you are a star
zante town is lovely, just wander round and enjoy it, have a drink in the village taverna garden, its beautiful (and the banana splits are good too) sit by the harbour and watch the world go by. the church is one of the most beautiful i have ever seen, gold everywhere. swim from the rocks to cool off, visit the museums. this is a small island, the capitol is going to be small too, what do people expect?
this place is full of paintings and artefacts rescued from the rubble after the earthquake, brilliant!!!!! there is even the (almost)entire interior walls of a monastary church, with all the wall paintings, if you fancy a bit of culture while you are on holiday go here, it was only 3 euros entrance fee, and well worth it.
sharon, if you go up the little road at the back of dias apartments, nice walk past some locals houses and a lovely little church, about 800 metres, you will come to a t junction, and it is just on your left. or if you are driving its easier to go up the main road, turn left at the t juction by the taxi rank and its about 8oo metres, well worth a visit, dennis is a star, and the chocolate mousse is the best in the universe.
when i visited zante with my family, we went to this bar a lot and became good friends with tassos, always had a great time.

the airport is very near to kalamaki, but there are no flights at night (because of the turtles). its nice to watch them flying in and out, after a day or so you wont even notice them. please dont let the proximity of the airport put you off, its really not a problem
lezlee, everywhere.. honestly. you and your daughter will be made welcome everywhere, i cant think of anywhere where you will feel out of place. kalamaki is our favourite, fabulous place, lovely people. good food and good times. have a great holiday
carol i agree, we have been going here for years and love it, there is value for money and the kakalouris family are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. always have a great time. roll on september!
yes we love this bar too, will be out there from 30th august, staying at cronulla and in this bar most nights, love tassos... so funny, and athena is so sweet, lovely people, great bar, good music, drinks, and a film or the footie occasionally, breakfasts are good too.
have eaten here on many occasions, once in a party of nine, we did not pre book, meal and the service were both excellent, minestrone soup was to die for, bolognaise was superb, and we all left with fully satisfied stomachs and happy memories. will always make a point of visiting this restaurant at least once during our stay. well done guys.
lee is the loveliest man, looking forward to seeing you in september, great music, great quizzes and entertainment, great bar xxx
love you guys, great entertainment, great company, see you in september. get the cocktails in x
love this bar... i can't sing, not at all, not a sausage, certainly not anything by meatloaf, brian seems to think i can, gets me up at every opportunity, oh my god, love you guys, see you in september
we like the first two weeks of september almost as much as when we go in june, weather is usually good, nice and warm, but a little cooler at night which makes it a little more comfortable for sleeping, might get a thunderstorm (which are spectacular but dont last long) and might get an earth tremor, (something to tell people on your return)
oh and everything is still open
shelly, please dont think that this bar is a no go area for oldies, we are of the'vintage variety' and we love it, have done since it opened, good music, laughs and company. cant wait to see you all again guys. best cocktails anywhere xxx
for a mosquito bite you need an antihystamine cream, same as you would for nettle rash, so she wasnt really wrong. you praps needed something a little stronger. glad you got sorted in the end. we have used this pharmacy quite a bit and always were happy with the service
mike, do you mean your daughter has bad reactions to the mozzies?, if so.... boots sell a good repellant, containing deet, its just called 'boots extra strong' its in a silver container, also you can get loads of stuff locally, repellants and after bite, if you look on the kalamaki messageboard, it might be a few pages back, theres a section titled nasty flying beasties, (or something similar) theres some tips on there. have a good one xxx
you were referring to all older people????? dont worry know what you mean, loads of people like this bar, ok age can be a factor, but the point i was trying to make was, its not just the young ones who do
as the cronulla is exclusive to argo, have a look at the argo website, that will probably be able to tell you, xxx have a good one
miserable????? your kidding! the bar staff are lovely, tassos is a babe and works really hard to ensure everyone has a great time, athena and the other staff are really good fun, one of our favourite places,
we love this place. thanks for another great holiday. jimmy and tom are just lovely. dennis has gone now, to do his national service, he was a sweetie too. see you next year guys xxx
the airport was less crowded than usual, managed to get a seat, the flight was on time, and we didnt have to wait too long in the sun. was a nice suprise. the airport is still pretty dire, but loads better than 7 years ago and the new terminal due for completion in 2006. not holding my breath, but the greeks made a pretty good job of the olympics when everyone said nothing would be ready on time.
there are 2 waterparks now, the small one just on the outskirts of laganas and a bigger one further inland, the local tour operators do day trips if you dont have transport, book with the locals, its loads cheaper than if you book with the reps. we love kalamaki, 9 times now. always the best holiday ever.
we love this bar, lee and neil are the best. music and entertainment second to none, always a warm welcome. see you in june xxxx
first time in this bar since last september, walked in and brian gave me a hug and said 'welcome home' that is exactly how we feel about this bar. spiros, brian, costas and mel made our holiday even better.
left a bottle of wine (only cheap stuff, nothing special) there one night, costas (bless him) jumped on his bike and brought it to our hotel, nice people, great bar.
another 2 fabulous weeks, just wonderful. will be back in june. 10th visit.....must be good!!!
really good meal, minestrone soup and con pollo, delicious and good value. they were really busy but the service was good, see you next year xxx
good snacks and breakfasts, fresh and generous portions, dia's barbecue is excellent. chicken, souvlaki, village sausage, 4 different types of salad, too much to name, really good value too
we like sofias, we really do, great quiz and nice breakfasts, nice staff and a good atmosphere, but with regard to the last comment i have to say, the tia maria did'nt taste like the tia maria i'm used to
me too con, hope they sort it soon, getting withdrawal symptoms.
we've stayed here loads of times, there are other apartments nearby, but not too near, and as for noise, the law on the island prohibits outside music after midnight, so inside the bars its noisy, outside is fine, love this hotel, never found anything to fault it. will be back next year.
both those hotel would suit ok, near all the bars and tavernas. try eating at a different place everyday, you wont be disappointed. have a good one.
one of the best on the island, lovely people and great food, and its yassou!
brian and spiros, thankyou for making our holidays so brill, love you guys, big hugs, see you later in the year xxx
just brilliant, best latte's on the island, steve, dia, jimmy, tommy, dennis, anastasia, and sylvia, thanks guys
tasos, athina, dennis and everybody, thankyou for another great two weeks, are you still cheering for mansfield ha ha, see you next year
walked into this bar, for the first time in a year, greeted by the right name, with a hug, and the right drinks placed on the bar before us! now that is service! spiros, brian, and costas, thankyou for a great time xx
had lots of great meals here, eat out every night, different places mostly, but a few we return to more than once, mermaids is one of them, never had a problem, ever! this year, amongst other things, we had the lamb with cranberries which was lovely, the moussaka which was excellent, my husband had the bread and butter pudding, which he said would give his mums a run for its money, (high praise indeed) liked the house wine, had breakfast here a couple of times, which were good too, always good! found the prices very reasonable, never felt rushed, thanks guys.
another restaurant we always visit more than once during our holidays, great friendly service, the country lamb, and lamb chops are lovely, greek meatballs are excellent, great cheesecake for afters, well priced, thanks guys.
lovely place, great setting, the con polo with spaghetti was brilliant, husband had pasta with mussells and scampi, said it was lovely, house wine good too, good service, nice people, well priced, thanks guys
another great two weeks, lovely people, great pool, nice accommodation, good location, perfect!!!!!!!!! our 10th visit, it wont be the last!!
spent a pleasant hour or so here this year, didnt understand the cabinets full of writings as they were in greek, but the pictures and antique furniture were well worth seeing
stunning views, well worth the walk up from bochali
the cronulla is a pleasant 10 minute walk to the beach, we've been going for years and love it,
