Not the best experience on either of the two occasions we ate there. Fairly limited menu when compared to some of the other restaurants around Argassi, and little use at all to a vegetarian. Quite amusing to be served by Peter Kay though!
Lovely setting, good service, very nice food presentation and most importantly good food! I was a little wary of having another souvlaki after 13 days on the island and little to choose between the other places, but this one was by far the best. Only slight gripe I would have is that the menus themselves (rather than the choice of dishes) are done in an amateurish way that does not befit the quality of food.
One of our favourite ones - beef kokkanisto well worth the slight wait. Only gripe I had was that it took them a really long time to want us to pay, even when there was nobody else in the restaurant, and we had to ask twice for the bill then!
Excellent, ate here on the first and last days, plus once in between, and each time the food and service were top notch and at good prices. Pork Diavola was the finest dish I had in two weeks eating solely Greek food, couldn't praise it highly enough.
Made the trek up the hill twice, once for an ice cream (heavenly!) and once for breakfast. Views were better than the breakfast, it must be said, but the overall impression of the place was definitely favourable.
Assured by Stu outside that this was the only restaurant in Argassi to get 10/10 on Just Zante (we hadn't looked before, and didn't realise he was being a little economical with the truth), the beef stifado was good enough but not the best I'd had that week. Service was pretty good, and the price was very competitive. Stu told us on the way out that he knew that had been the best meal we had eaten in Argassi - not quite pal!
We didn't realise that Ilias was Peter "Peos"'s son until last night, similar customer technique but an altogether nicer guy. We had quite a few drinks there and pancakes (you just have to try the chocolate, peanut butter and banana crepe!!), and the final day breakfast was a good one. Staff all very friendly and didn't so much hassle us as welcome us.
This was my first lamb kleftiko experience, on our first night, and I was impressed. Busy and justifiably popular place, good service and an all-round thumbs up from the primate jury.
Fabulous food, absolutely top notch. Great service, though they became so busy it took a while for us to get the bill even after asking twice.
I'm afraid we succumbed to the hassle of the door guy after a while and went in. Just the once though, as the food was nothing better than we'd has elsewhere and it really wasn't worth the hassle. When the PR guy hassled us the next night and we said we'd been in before he was honestly astounded that we weren't rushing to go back - probably not realising it was him that was the deterrent!!!
Great cocktails, which is all we went for!
Can't understand why it was empty every time we went in, as the cocktails were superb!
Well, what can I say? We basically lived there after about 10pm every night. Kevlar is a top host, the quizzes were worth the holiday cost alone just for some of the banter inbetween questions, and his unforgettable rendition of Slim Shady on one of the Karaoke nights will last as one of the best memories of a great holiday. I hate to think how many Mythos or cocktails we put away in there, but it was all great fun. Andreas and his team are doing a great job, and the food at the Jam Restaurant was something special as well. We were lucky enough to win €20 off the bill there at one of the quizzes, and the feast we had that night was simply superb. The mixed grill with the pepper and wine sauce.......top scran, as they say.
We booked the Timotheos Studios through Manos in March, and they were unable to give us any details about the place. It subsequently transpired that they were the Athina apartments under new name, they are now taking the name of one of the brothers who own Stars Restaurant.
Just back from two weeks at the Tropicana (well ok, we stayed at the Timotheos but we were in the Tropicana most nights), and can safely say that this was a great holiday in a great location. The beach isn't massive but it is more than adequate, there is a very large selection of restaurants and bars (and some right characters trying to get you to buy their food etc), and a really good atmosphere. Don't be put off by the hordes of gyppos trying to sell you hats, roses, lighters etc, and don't be put off by the pirate CD sellers every ten minutes. Argassi's a top place to spend some relax time.
Ate here twice, once with a huge platter of just about everything imaginable, and once with a sumptuous mixed grill. Very friendly and attentive staff, huge and varied menu, all-round top place to eat. And seconds away from our favourite bar as well. Definitely recommended to everyone.
Great place, we booked this year on the strength of all the recommendations on here, and we weren't disappointed.
Simply superb in all aspects. Very stylish presentation, varied and interesting menu, and the food was probably the best we ate in two weeks in Zakynthos. Combine that with a friendly and helpful staff and you can't go wrong!
Good food, good service and a very nice night here. The Briam was top stuff indeed. Recommended,
Only ate here the once this year as opposed to three times last year, but the Beef Athena was excellent.
Nice views, but you are paying for the view as the food is more expensive than elsewhere in Argassi, and it's not the best food you will find on the island.
Superb breakfast, great value for money. Didn't have an evening meal here as we only tried the breakfast on our last day and had already decided on the last evening meal!
Amazed that Stu recognised us from last year!
Spent many an hour here over the course of the last fortnight, amazed to be recognised from last year by Ilias, and the crepes are always worth coming back for.
Excellent food, imaginative and tasty. High quality service as always. I love this place!
Wonderful lamb kleftiko! Slightly strange place as we were the only ones there and it was a bit like eating in the middle of nowhere, but the food was well worth the trip down the back road.
These guys are a credit to Zakynthian hospitality, simply top drawer in terms of friendliness and service. Food ain't bad either! The mixed grill was massive and very tasty, and the feta souffle for starter was just perfect.
Ate here on our first night, very tasty stuffed pork roll. Recommended.
We gave in to the nagging in the end, for a last day lunch, and it wasn't the best culinary experience of the fortnight. The gyros plate was excessively salty, and the toppings on the jacket potato were on the stingy side of invisible! Good service though.
Very nice meatballs, and the cheesy chips were both chips and very cheesy! Good place for a game of pool as well.
Great food here, generous portions and an excellent service. Ate here three times this year, and I can thoroughly recommend the mixed grill as being the best in the area.
Really really enjoyed eating here. The swordfish steak was just soooooo tasty! Great service too, and they seemed delighted that I made an effort to talk to them in Greek. Thoroughly recommended.
Nice setting, but constantly plagued by flies and all kinds of creepy crawlies, and the staff didn't want to know once we'd placed the order. And when the food arrived.......oh dear. If that chicken with asparagus was freshly prepared, I am both the Pope and Johnny Rotten rolled into one. A major disappointment. The wife had a good penne with four cheese sauce, so maybe I was just unlucky with my choice of dish, but there is no way I would eat here again, even if it was on the house.
Cheap pint of mythos, that'll do me just fine.
Wasn't sure what to expect, but we enjoyed both quizzes we entered, and the drinks were good too.
Always a great place to come! My kind of bar, I guess they had a lot of fun putting all the fittings up, must be so many good memories of happy holidays.
Good food, great location, and altogether an enjoyable experience.
Love this place, always great cocktails and good pumpin' music.
Went there for the first England game. Didn't go back. Says it all really.
Great place for a mid-afternoon snack, mythos and footy. Many a happy hour spent here!
Always enjoy coming here, great food and a nice place to chill out for a while.
Simply the best place in Argassi. Always something on for entertainment, be it a quiz, karaoke, films, tribute acts (Elvis Cloned, The Blues Brothers and Bon Jovi were on while we were there), and the island's top host Kevlar has once again put together a good team of helpers.
First Choice? Only choice for us from now on. Excellent service.
