Been to the Nadia Studios twice before, the best thing about them is the location. Just 3-4 mins walk to the beach, Just across the road is the Cavo Doro(Great Cocktails), Al sandros is also just up the road to the left. Restarants all within a couple of mins walk, so you can get a little drunk(hmmm a little?) and manage to get to your bed with the greatest of ease. If you need any more information on the area feel free to mail me and ask.
Going to White appartments Tonight for 2 weeks, I'll sort out a littel review on my return.
Well what can I say?, Been to Kalamaki Twice and going again tonight, always end up starting off the evenings in Lee's Joint (Al sandros) even wrote a song about it, Ask Lee to play it to you!!. As mentioned before great staff, good beer, Dave the dog, Pub Jenga. Many a night started off hazy with the free sambuca's in this place. Highly recommended.
Once again ended up doing the rounds pretty much every night at Al Sandros. Managed to play a gig there to with Dr Allan. Great times had by all, even if sometimes me and Tobes ended up playing very drunk chess for hours(assited by Dave the dog). Lee ended up playing the Al sandros e.p few times aswell.
In the day time this is one of the best pools in Kalamaki town and they do a big Mythos, but as for the evening well all I can say is don't do the quiz night!! For starters it last 3 hours and secoundly, Some friends and I played the quiz and got 30.5 /32 so we had it in the bag but when the score were added up at the end we ended up with only 26 points. Usually we would all have let it be but as the prize was a days car hire we kicked up a fuss. Confronted with the mistakes the Lady(Sue) I think, stood corrected but it was only marked wrong because we were all enjoying ourselves and making a bit of noise.
Well what can I say, another year of fantastic cocktails(many thanks Yakas)and shots(many thanks Georgia)and humour(thanks Gianis). This place is run by some of the most friendly people on the Island who will look after you if you have any troubles. If you don't enjoy this bar, your asleep or Yakas has made you a few of his bacardi and cokes!!
Well it's true George cooks the best chicken spit roast that I have ever tasted and all for 1500 dracs. We ate there and just as our dinner were being brought to us the sky opened up. All the staff helped us get all our food and items inside and allowed us to eat at the bar. George is a very funny man and all the bar staff are friendly. Ended up having a table footy comp with them too.
Stayed here from 11th-25th september 2001 Bit of a walk to the main part of Kalamaki, but that helps to sober you up a bit. Across the road is the 2 brothers hotel. Friendly staff most of the time, the pools a bit small though, I reccomend going down to sofias or antonia's pool bars instead. We had an earthquake while we were there there which needless to say scared the crap out of us but the building didn't have any problems with it. Cleanliness was a bit varied, one week room got cleaned twice and the other week three times so its o.k. Quietness apart from the dogs, chickens and the priest singing for 3hours in the earley hours of the morning once a week was O.k too.
I agree the beach was a bit dirtier this year but that aside. You still have the "dounut" and "fruit salad" man walking around and sun loungers are still at a good price 2500dr a day. This year we did alot of snorkling at Kalamaki beach and were amazed at the amount of fish you could get to surround you if you brought a couple of slices of bread with you. Also Starfish, hermit crabs and flat fish all over the place.
Went to the Cave bar on our last night also, the view is superb and the setting is very nice only thing against it are the prices of the drinks in there. 1 bacardi and coke and a Strongbow came to 2500dr = £5. And when you are used to 1400dr in Cavo d'oro!!! Well worth a visit but it wouldn't be the local over there.
Good thing about Merlis was the fully covered insurance and the cheapness of it aswell We had 2 cars for a day and between 6 of us it was only 2500dr each. And 2000dr is enough petrol to go around the whole island.
Very helpful staff who speak good english. Word of wisdom:Don't have ice in your drinks in Laganas as most of the clubs use tap water, which is fine to drink but if you haven't got a strong stomach I wouldn't advise it.
Been going to the Island for 3 yera now and I've heard the car going arond with the big speakers on it saying"Wacky Warehouse" so many time but this time we went to go and have a look. It was great, Pythons, boas, geckos, skinks, lizards, racoons?? Loads of farm animals and upstairs an place for the kids and bar for the adults with video games. Totally enjoyed the visit and got some great photos too!!
Still can't belive that this place only has 3/10.
Always started off the days here with a Pork souvlaki Pitta for breakfast only 450drc for one- so about 85p. Tried to make them at home but this is the place if you want the real taste.
The best chicken on the Island in here for 1500drc George is really funny and all the staff speak great english and have a good sense of humor, and Tobes you know what I mean and the staff.lol Anyway on the road from Kalamaki to Laganas on the right hand side. Thumbs up!!!
