Went here twice in June 2013 really enjoyed the meal reasonably priced very friendly, just wanted a change I had onion bhaji & Chicken Tikka Massala my husband had mixed meat starter Chicken Tikka Madras we had 1 rice & 1 Nan, bhaji`s were very light and my masala had a lemonie taste a bit different but lovely, my husband also enjoyed his too. We went a second time with our girls but they had Chinese, one had a prawn dish which she said was lovely & the other had duck & pancakes which she also enjoyed I had the same as last time as I enjoyed it so much last time, sorry cant remember what my husband had. We are returning to Kalamaki on the 18th August for a week & we will be visiting again, nice change.
We have enjoyed on two different occasions a lovely meal at the Maharaja Indian restaurant in Kalamaki (2008-2011), and both times we visited late in the evening, still receiving a sincere welcome, most recently earlier this week and I can only commend this restaurant, having had considerable experience of the decline in standards of Indian food served in English restaurants and take always of late. We enjoyed the typical Poppadom etc, starter of onion bhaji to die for (nothing like the silly flat pancakes currently circulating the UK), followed by two different curry’s; rice; beautiful keema naan, served by very professional staff, there service; food; the ambiance was lovely. They are clearly having to compete against local cuisine, (Traditional Greek Menu's) rightly so, but if you do want to enjoy a really excellent Indian meal do give Mahraha a try. Thanks to the staff as this was our last meal in Kalamaki before leaving for cloudy
Maharaja is a great restaurant!!!! Food was absolutely beautiful, and the complimentary wine and dessert went down a treat!!!! Really friendly staff and very reasonable prices!!! Def recommend you all try this!!!
I have had a couple of take aways from here, and ate here once as well. Even though the place was quiet the food was good. Staff are pleasant and accomodating. I am a bit of a Curry Monster, and know there are 2 curry places in Kalamaki, 1 is called Guru and of course this one. Of the 2 I think that this is the better of the 2
