Apollo Restaurant

i  loved apollo one of the best places to eat in alykes and there is an apollo 2 in the next town down about 20 mins there and 20 mins back i loved the service and the kids meals and espechally when babbis gave me lodes of sparklers

a lovely restaurant , the food is always good and plenty of it, the service is first class we love this place.my son says the cheese pies are the best, but i think the cherry special ice cream is wonderful

. Great food it always is, it melts in your mouth especially the  stiffado ,& the meat balls were delicious, all the staff   are very welcoming  nothing is to much trouble for them so when you go to Alykes  give it a go .

Always good food and friendly service. Lovely location at the quiet end of town and we have never been disappointed with our meal. Stuffed tomatoes are to die for and their "specials" often including Beef Stews with cheese toppings are wonderful.

A varied menu to cater for all tastes. Excellent quality and quantity. Waitress seemed to be quite friendly but a bit moody and had a problem smiling.

I cannot praise the place high enough!! the staff and the
food....wow. watch thursday nights tend to be busy when half of
the staff go to apollo pool bar for the Greek night. so expect slow
service. Andy the barman has a cheery smile and does his best
when on his own with the owner.
Get him talking motorbikes scaffolding, diving(scuba),
montypython, goons or Nemo and your in. if you don't mind a little
sarcasm once you get him started. he will keep you entertained.

well recommended place yurgos the owner angela steve and
andy make it a real treat to eat there.
the kitchens are cleaned before and after every night. it shows.

well cooked.

The original Taverna Apollo, well worth the short walk from Alykes centre - great food, atmosphere, value for money and really comfy seats! Run by the Voutos family - check out it's equally excellent sister restaurant in Alikanas...After you have eaten - have a drink with Dimitri in the Pool bar at the back - always entertaining!

My boyfriend and I ate at Apollos 3 times during our recent 2 week stay in Alykes. I'm sure we'd have eaten there more if we'd discovered it earlier. It's slightly off the beaten track so you may have a little trouble finding it but it's well worth the effort. The greek starter for 2 was so good we had it every time we went. I had the swordfish in shrimp and cream sauce and the chicken apollo, both of which were gorgeous. My boyfriend really enjoyed both their mixed grill and their enormous special mixed grill.

p.s. Apollos is at one of the corners of the salt flats. To find it just walk along the main street out of town and keep walking with the salt flats on your left until you reach the end.

the best place we have eaten well done guys

Ate here several times during our 2 week stay. Huge menu plus specials every day. Greek food best bet. Excellent for kids as there is a big choice menu for them and the price of their meals includes a drink and ice cream. Very good value. Village wine (white) very good. Service a bit hit and miss. Andy, who is from UK, is brilliant and if he waited on table we got everything we asked for but the girl who works there can't cope if she has more than 1 table to attend to.

We ate at Apollo 4 times in 2 weeks. It was refreshing to be served roast potatoes instead of chips. Good food at a reasonable price.

Great service, superb location but food left a lot to be desired.

We went here twice and enjoyed it very much. A very extensive range of food is offered. Well worth a visit.

Stopped off here for lunch one day in May while driving round the island.
Liked it so much made a point of stopping off again in September.
Great food on the whole - the Greek Salad didn't have feta cheese on which is a little unusual - but hey - who cares.
Nice quiet location.
Excellent.

We found everyone at the apollo welcoming,also the food you order is absolutley fantastic.say hello to everyone from us.Tell Demitros to have plenty of jack daniels.See you in june 2004.

ICE CREAM IN A GLAAASSSSSSS!!!!!!

Far from being aloof - Kim is a restraunteur - she is helpful - but not in your face. The food in the Apollo is some of the best you will find in Alikes. If I am not mistaken they have a sister restaurant in town called The Vouchee (if I am mistaken forgive me but the food in The Vouchee was just heavenly - try the melt in your mouth roast pork). The Apollo is perfectly situated just outside of the main street of Alikes. We also stayed at the Apollo and breakfast was also the best in the resort. The rooms are, I was going to say basic, but it is only regarded as a 2 star accommodation. I would have averaged it above this. The rooms are cleared daily of debris and it is more than fine if you opt to stay in self catering as opposed to a hotel. It was lovely. Last but not least. The pool area is wonderful, in the evening hosted by the Dimitrios. Dimitrios may well but a tad loud but us Brits have taught him that that is what we want. He is eager to please and knows what we want. He is welcoming and warm along with the rest of the staff (team) at the Apollo. I have no hestitation in recommending it if you stay in Alikes, Zante. Food is very good. Can't say that we have found Kim particularly welcoming - rather cool and aloof compared with most owners, despite being a fellow Scot. Nice views across the salt flats at night.

Kim (the owner) of "Island of Dreams" fame,has a warm welcome for everyone.The menu is very extensive,lots of scrummy sauces,huge portions!Nice quiet corner of the resort too,so conversation doesn't have to compete with the bars.
