Draganikos Studios

Draganikos apartments are showing on First Choice Internet booking site and I have booked for next June with no problem.   

 Oh No We've booked for 1 week in May and then 2 weeks in September,when we left this year said to "Denise" owner of apartments see you next year she said ok good,if we wanted to stay somewhere else we would have booked somewhere else,any more news or comments?

Hi we stayed at the Dragonikos last year but were unable to get them for 2008 first choice are not selling them next year ,does anyone know if they have a web site or intend to rent them  next year

No air-con but you can hire a fan,10 euro`s a week I think it was.Great apts with excellent location

I am going to the Draganikos on tuesday cant wait after reading all the good reviews........can anyone tell me is there anywhere we can hire a scooter and how much approx please thank you.......

Have just returned from Zante last week. This was our fourth visit, and third year at Draginikos Apartments. What can i say - fantastic location, great people, totally relaxing. The Mill Bar is one of our favourite haunts!, and for the best food in town - The Mantelina. Really looking forward to next years holiday in September. 

I have just booked my holiday at the Draganikos for June 2008, My mum , dad , daughter and me. I really looking forward to it after reading reviews. Anyone with any suggestions for sightseeing and places that are good to eat please let me know.

we have not long returned from our 4th stay at the dragonikos. The apartments are excellent, perfect for families and couples. As a family of 4 my mum and dad always choose to stay at the dragonikos 'coz it is central and in a calm and relaxing area. no matter which room you are the views over looking the sea and mountains are just amazing. with the taverna (the romanza) next door and the town and beach 2 minutes away there's not much to be moaned about.
The rooms are basic as are every other apartment we have stayed in over the last 9 yrs in alykes and alykanas but with the friendly family atmosphere the owners will certainly make you feel very welcome, as do all other greeks!
 we are looking foward to our return next year to the dragonikos and Alykanas as it truely is one of the best resorts on the whole island. There is enough entertainment within alykes/ alykanasto suit couples and families without being crowded.

How far are the nearest pools- I know the beach is 180 meters ish away, but I like to spend the day by the pool. I'm off there in August NEXT year!!!

In response to Sheila Henderson's comments - you do hear various animals throughout the night, but nothing to disturb you (all part and parcel of being on one of the Greek Islands!) and we stayed in a two bedroomed apartment for two weeks and did not hear the owners chat once.  The apartments are very clean, bright and spacious.  Alykanas was brilliant and we highly recommend trips through the local tour operators.  A fantastic location all round!

One couple said that you would need earplugs as there are dogs chained up at the apartments and traffic constantly through the night also the owners live on the site and talk all through the night outside - I wanted to book a two bedroom apartment - has anyone else experienced these problems

The apartment was clean and spacious, perfectly situated next to the beach. Really nice for a good nights sleep, very quiet. Romanza restaurant(next door) was amazing value for money. We payed roughly 40 euro for a meal fo four(but enough food for 8!) with wine and appetizers. We went to other places and this one was the best and right outside the apartment. The best place for breakfast was Oasis bar on the beach. The service was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for Spyros(the waiter). He even booked our taxis and made travel enquiries for us! Great eggs on toast too!  want to go back!!!

 For anyone wanting a simple, clean appartment in a quit llocation but with good access to the beach (3 minutes to the left) and the resort centre (4 minutes to the right) then the Dragnikos Apartments will serve you fine. They are run by a family living at the front of the site, ground floor that while away the evenings discussing the ways of the world. the Romanza Tavera next door is run by the 5 sons who are so anxious to please and are very polite. please ensure you shake hands with at least one of them after your meal. The food is excellent, piping hot but such large portions. A half carafe of local wine comes free and is very drinkable.

 Back to the rooms - simple with just enough provided. take a kettle and corkscrew/ bottle opener and hire a fan for 10 Euros a week. The lady owner, Dionnysia, cleans the rooms each day and is very friendly despite the limited English.

 If you need a car try dennis at Cosmos (no relation) I think he must live in his office on the site - left hand side of main street. Fair deal which comes with good humour. The extra 5 Euros a day for a/c was worth it for us. Also try the Mill Bar up a path off the beach free pool, sunbeds and parasoles with a roof-top lounge with super views.

 The temperture was a bit too hot for us in August  ~34C. Suggest June or September would be a lot better. We will be back!

Just returned from our 2nd stay at Draganikos apartments. The apartments are still kept very clean with regular change of towels and bed linen and the gardens are still wonderful. These apartments are still typically Greek with basic equipment, remember to take a travel kettle! The apartments are in an ideal location with the beach being a very short walk away, just down the end of the road. We used theValais pool (across the road) regularly and found it quiet, the staff were friendly and there was no mad rush for sunbeds.

hi just got home from a 1 week stay at the draganikos apartments (5 june)had a great time here,rooms were basic but very clean,all you need is very close by,pool,beach,bars,cashpoint,supermarket,car+bike hire,very good place to stay will return here no problems at all.(lovely gardens)

We have been to zante five times and  hopefully coming again this year and stay at the Draganikos for the first time. we found a cash machine opposite the Greedy Greek in It came in handy after long days at the Mill Bar with  the owners Julie and Spiros .

never leave home without your working tools,(ie) bottle opener,cork screw,and can opener.The taverna is built on the left as you leave the appt. grounds, fronting on the road to the beach.

Draganikos appartments have a fridge in the kitchen, a 2 pot stove and the utensils to make tea etc and simple one or two pot meals but there is the Romanza returante right next door ( same family ) and the food and service there is GREAT We are coming back for our 4th year there at these appartments and will be booking the 5th soon Enjoy the gardens and the peace and most of all the owners they are so kind Have a great holiday Roger and Gill Lingwood

Had a fantastic holiday August 2005. Booked again for June 2006. this area is as close to perfection as you will get. Appts. very clean with all mod coms, cooker (not used) fridge (beer,wine.) fall out of bed,and your on the beach,custom built for children. Plenty sun beds and shades + beach service from local tavernas.Would recommend the weekly Greek Night at the Mill, just off the beach. Yammas.

we have booked the draganikos studio for 2 people but it is unclear in the brocure if there is a fridge in the kitchenette. Can anyone confirm for sure that there is a one in the studios please.

WE loved it so much we are going back September 06 for our 4th stay here, if like my wife and I you want a quiet clean friendly stay then look no further

Hi Tony.  There is a cash machine at the supermarket on the opposite corner to Greedy Greek and one at the Leftos supermarket.  Hope this is of help. Cathy

Hi Tony, i have been to Alikanas many times and can't recall a cash machine in this resort, but a short walk brings you to Alykes, where there is a cash machine, (well there was last time i went!). Dragonikos apartments are great, we have booked to return in June 06.

This was our 2nd visit here and it is still the best place to stay. Close to the beach, quiet, very very clean with friendly owners. Food next door is great. Highly recomended and we hope to return very soon.

I stayed at the Draganikos Apts in August 2004 with my two daughters.  The location is excellent, the beach a mere 2 minute walk to the left on exiting the gate of the apartments and the centre of the resort a 3 minute walk to the right on exiting the gate.  The restaurant at the Dragonikos is owned by the family who own the Apartments and it is very reasonable, the food served there is very tasty and they have loads of choice.  The beach is very clean, nice fine sand and clear water (which is warm).  We didnt experience any noise that kept us awake at night, the locals were very nice and helpful.  The pool/bar at The Mill is excellent, the kids loved it and it is very clean.  The nightlife is limited, there were no clubs there that I noticed, mainly restaurants and bars which played lots of football on the tele much to my annoyance!!!!!! I would recommend Alakanas to anyone who wants a peaceful holiday with only a handful of bars and restaurants. 

We have stayed here for the past 4years and it is very quiet and peacefull not far from the beach,allso close to resort ,the studio,s are very clean and the gardens are very green,

Typically greek apartments, set in wonderful gardens. We had a 2 bed roomed apartment, which was very spacious, but very basic, no kettle, no corkscrew, 3 knives for four of us. The maid service was excellent with clean sheets and towels on a regular basis, although the towels were tiny hand towels! The beds are rock hard but who cares after a metaxa or two? Brilliant location, 2 minutes from the beach, and a short walk to the shops and restaurants.
There was a lot of noise at night from the locals going up and down the road on their scooters doing wheelies etc. Also dogs seemed to bark almost constantly, there were two dogs chained up at the apartments. Our apartment was above the Greek's living accomodation, and they liked to sit outside to all hours with their family all laughing and talking well into the small hours.
All in all a nice family run place to stay, but in need of a facelift, and do take your earplugs!

We went to Zante on an allocation on arrival holiday so we had no idea what to expect. There is no reception which I found strange, you have to collect you key from the shop they own in front of the apartments which was closed when we arrived but luckly one of the guests told us our key would be in our door. We were quite pleased with the apartments, they have everything you need and are very clean, there's no pool but thats no problem as there are so many other hotels and apartments around that welcome everyone. The beach is two minutes away and it's a very nice beach too and the centre of Alikanas is in the opposite direction less than 5 minutes away. There's also a restaurant next door which I think was owned by the same people that own the apartments. All in all the apartments were perfectly situated.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this accommodation August 2002. The location is excellent as there is use of a pool 1 minute away and the beach only 3 minutes away. The centre of Alikanas is only a short walk away (5-10 mins). Nice gardens also surrounding the apts. We stayed in a studio which was more than satisfactory - large enough room with kitchen facilities (hob, fridge, sink etc), and area with beds, wardrobe and dressing table. Maid service very efficient. Came to room everyday either to change/make beds or change towels. Overall, this accommodation was excellent and satisfied all our needs. Definitely recommended!

Stayed in the Dragonikos apartments August 2001. Gold choice apartments so obviously they are good. Cleaned daily. Sheets changed once pw, towels twice (I think). Had a fantastic time there. Use of a large pool opposite & beach 5 minutes away. Outside shower to rinse sand off feet etc. Beautiful Gardens. Apartment owner & maid do not speak much English. Small Kiosk style shop just outside gates of apartments very useful. Centre of Alikanas 5-10 minutes max! Maid likes to come around approx 10am usually. Shower & WC Small Hob, Fridge all you need for Self catering
