Family Inn Hotel

To all the people who have visited the Family Inn before, I think you need reassurance !. The hotel has not changed hands or anything drastic. The Ambelas family are still the owners so nothing has changed, it is still the same place it has always and will always be. Georgia & Peter still run the hotel, the changes which have happenned this year are Dino has now taken an interest in construction of properties on the island and he still is in the bar but for less hours. Spiro has decided to go and live in Sweden for a year with his girlfriend, he has been replaced in the bar by Costas. Maggie who ran the pool bar has gone to work in her husband & Deni's business "Waves" snack bar, for this year. The pool bar is run by Theresa,Michael & Tasia who live on the island. So to all of you who may have thought that it had changed, it is business as usual and we look forward to seeing you all agsin in the future.

i reccomend every1 stays at the family inn and i canmt believe dino has gone 2.

the family inn was the first hotel that we stayed in on our visit to the island. we stayed b&b and then we went a second year in self catering this experience is all you need and you are hookrd. we are now ready to visit for the fourth time on the sixth of october but are staying in another hotl further down. all because of the family inn we LOVE this resort

Devestated to hear that Dino and Spyros not there - we have had lots of wonderful holidays at the Family Inn and will miss them tremendously - but good luck to you both.  Does anyone know if Peter and Georgina are still there or has the hotel changed ownership - who runs the bar and the snack bar now?  Coming out in September hopefully  but feeling a bit aprehensive now

stayed there in 2004 and loved it. we were in tsilivi this year and we went down to argassi for a night. very dissapointed not to see spyros and dino behind the bar! Where have they gone??

the very best hotel in zante - peter, georgina, dino, maggie, thassis, saki and spyros make sure your time with them in second to none.  i recommend this hotel to everyone. people retun year after year to the family inn.  nothing is too much trouble, the pool is outstanding and exceptionally clean, as is everywhere.  dino's bar is great and so are the measures.  miss you and love to you all.  xxx

We love it but why wont the tour companies let us stay there when we want to!?????

We returned from a stay at the Family Inn Hotel & Studios yesterday and we found it to be excellent.  The staff are warm & friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in the studios & the Libra brochure said they had air conditioning, however, they didn't, but Peter offerred to put a fan in the room if we needed it. If you are going to go, book direct with them.  It is a hotel that comes very highly recommended & I'm very choosy.

Most properties go by numbers, and not streets.  The Family Inn is number 52.  Not sure if you have been before, but if you follow your map from Zante Town to Argassi, as you enter Argassi you will come to a church called, St Stathis on your left, directly opposite this church you turn right (off the main road into Argassi) and the hotel is situated about 75m on the right hand side.  Hope this helps!

Does anyone know the name of the street that the Family Inn is situated on? wanted to get my bearings on a map before i fligh out this May, stopping in Argassi. Many thanx.x

anyone who as not been to the family inn in argassi should go and try it it as something for everyone from small children to olderly people wanting a different friendly holiday then the place to be is the family inn we first arrived there about 12years ago and now return twice a year the family and friends are all very freindly and so helpful we have made so many greek people we now call are family and will be visiting again in june and september 2005 love to all andy@norma

WOT a great week.
The friendly family that run's the hotel are so helpful.The bar was the best place to end the night,Dino(the owner's son)and spiros really made you feel welcome.price's of the drink's at the bar we found cheaper than the bras on the front.we liked it so much we are going back next year but will be bookin direct with the hotel as it is cheaper to do so.

Yeah,right on the beach,never stayed there but they look ok and location is good.

myself mum and dad, 2 sisters and brother have been here twice now and we have just arrived back this evening.it gets better each time, the people are lovely and the family that run the Family Inn are great, you can chill out by the pool through the day with maggies snack bar open all day, and when youre ready to go out you can stay in and drink in Dino's bar. Miss It, Miss Out!!

we went to argassi in 2001 did not stay in the family inn stayed at marios apt but went and drank here every night dino and spiros are the best dino actually took us to the airport at 3am in the morning it is that good we have booked to go next year again with no children and cannot wait for may, see you soon dino and spiros

My and my boyfriend have just come back from Zante, we stayed at the Family Inn and it was lovely, our room was very clean, the maids change the bed sheets at least every other day. The pool area is nice with a snack bar right next to it which sells real nice food, we stayed round the pool nearly every day, ended up in Dino's bar every night too, would recommend the Family Inn to anyone coming to Argasi.

Ive been to Argassi twice now. The First time i stayed in the hillside appartments, 2nd time stayed in the Holiday Inn. Both are memrable times and i loved it!!We are planning to go back sometime soon!!The people, food , nightlife are all great!!!!!

Getting ready for another fortnight at The Family Inn! Due to fly out this Thursday and can't wait. Fantastic family, fantastic location, and fantastic accomodation, what more can we say?!? Dino's bar in the Family Inn is just like your local. There are a multitude of bars in Argassi to pick from.

The beach in Argassi is very narrow, most people stick around the pool. However, it's worth a trip to the Vassilikos peninsula (about 15 mins by taxi/car) south of Argassi as there are several brilliant beaches there. Dafni, Porto Roma, Porto Zorro, St Nicholas and Gerakas to name but a few.

I hope you have a brilliant time, we're heading over in four weeks and I am counting the days.

This in my opinion, was the best hotel on the island.
You could not meet a nicer family, which run the hotel and studio's. They will make everyone feel welcome.

Hi to everyone, whom i had the pleasure of meeting, whilst working in the family inn.

My fiance and I went to the Family Inn Studios, September this year, didn't want to leave. Studios were really clean, grounds of hotel really clean. When we first arrived had a bit of a trek, to get to studio, up to sets of stairs but don't let that put you off, the family are great, really friedly people. Would go back, maybe in a few years, and recommend the family in to anyone. Want any info feel free to e-mail me. Julie

We loved the family inn studios, they were well situated, being quiet but only spitting distance from the main resort. Studio, was basic as expected but spotlessly clean, which was fantastic. Pool nice, but chilly, and the pool bar served nice food. The family are really friendly and the bar run by Dino and Spiro has a great atmosphere. They have loads of return guests and at the end of the season they were still very very full.

Spoilt for choice as regards places to eat but i can recommend the picadilly,which is on the other end of the resort from where you are staying,on the righthand side of the main street. The Green Frog,which is in the resort centre. Enigma,also on the right of the main street,not far from The Family inn and if you turn left at the church the bottom of the hill,there is a nice restaurant about 150 yards on the left hand side,can't remember the name. Most beers i bought were between 2 and 3 euros,draught or bottles.

Absolutely fabulous Hotel!!! Owned by the extremely friendly Ambelas family. Situated in a quiet area of Argassi, although the beach and the restaurants are only a few minutes walk away. Dino's Bar is obviously run by Dino, together with Spiros, both great guys - made our holiday one to remember!!! It is a very popular bar, everyone gathers at the end of the evening here and drinks into the very early hours! Superb cocktails - highly recommend "Green Peace"!!! Spiros encourages getting a football team together for the lads, but delights at the fact that his team are very rarely beat!!! Without a doubt, we'll be back!!! "A BIG THANK YOU TO THE FAMILY AND SPIROS FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY!!!"

were a young couple me 31 and my partner 29 and was looking for a holiday that was both relaxing and fun. We've just come back from The Family Inn hotel and can only say 1 thing..Excellent. Rooms basic but very clean, pool only couple of minutes away and has a nice pool bar. Hotel Bar 'Dino's Bar' serves some good cocktails (Hi to Spyros and Dino) both very friendly a helpfull. The Hotel is situated within a 5 minute walk from the main street with all the restaurants and bars which all offer a variety of food and music, you will find it difficult if ya looking for a dancing holiday as the only real club is The Factory and although the music was ok ***Be warned*** PREPARE TO SWEAT. If anyone needs to know anymore about Argassi or booking direct with Dino at The FAmily Inn feel free to email me.

I have heard a lot about this hotel, especially the warmth and friendliness of the "Family". I have relatives in Cyprus who have also visited this island and have given it five stars. I hope to visit the beautiful Zakynthos at the start of May to check this out for myself.

A good all round place to stay. Dino is a funny bloke his bar is well smart!!!!

We are off to the Family Inn next August (2002). My only concern is that there is no air conditioning or fan hire (as I have just discovered). I enjoy the sunshine during the day, but isn't it going to be unbearable at night ?

Absolutely superb hotel. The location is brilliant and the "Family" are without doubt the main reason why this hotel has so many "regulars". I was there in July & I'm off there again tomorrow. I can't wait.

Heather, Airtours and Thomson, please note I go every year and I struggled to book for next May in June of this year so beware!!! Colin, room service is every day except Sunday with sheets changed during the week.

The drinks in the family inn were about 1000 drachma and 500 for shots. this hotel was great totally recommend it

We stayed in the Emilia apartments, just behind the family inn, and used the pool and bar all holiday. I would recommend this hotel and resort to anyone. Thanks to Dino and Spyros for supplying us with generous cocktails, ask for a Spyrosses little Bannana, or a Emmas big melon special. Bob, Doreen, Rob and Emma

To Jock Scott, I would not say it was fame, but yes I am that person. The Beer Academy is along Argassi street to the centre, turn right up the hill past all retaurants and it is on your left just before the George supermarket. Yammas !!
