Letsos Hotel

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Letsos on 23rd August and I will not be staying there again.

Karen dont worry about being on your own you will meet plenty of new friends with your 6 year old by the pool. We have just returned on 25th June 2007 & had a wonderfull time, the resort is peaceful (occasional greek idiot on a motorbike) and the comments about the hotel & family are all true. Apart from the son Dennis you have his older cousin Dennis who works behind the bar at night, (middle in photo) as well as every where else during the day, he is great with kids. Elaina (mom) is around during the day and will look after you.

my wife and i have stayed at the letsos for 1week for the past 3 years and are hoping to be back on 26th august this year for another. we have no bad comments about the letsos.everyone at the hotel are so friendly

   just wanted to say that we stayed at the letsos in august 06 with our family, ten of us ranging from 1 year old to 59 year old . it was a really great holiday, i real family run resort. dad that didnt speek english but understood it, mum that loved everyone and would help all, maria that was back for the summer to help her family and came back to london the time time as us, and oh yes dennis there young teenage son that was the life and soul of the party, apart from when greece lost to england. such a nice family..........would reckonmend this holiday resort to all familys,,,yes it is very basic , but so is greece its there way of life.....we will be going back.. thankyou for a wonderfull holiday

We have just arrived back from a week staying at the Hotel Letsos in Alykanas.

This was our second visit to the Letsos and as with the first visit we had a very good time. This time we returned with our family ten of us in all and all had a very good time. We ranged in age from 59 down to just one year old and there was something for everyone at the resort. This is a family run hotel who go out of their way to give everyone a good time. Thanks for a great holiday, we will return. We would recommend the Letsos as a family holiday venue.

We have just got back from Zante, after stopping at the Letsos Hotel in Alykanas for two weeks. We had a fantastic holiday and loved the family run Hotel Letsos. The family are really friendly, speak great english and are only more than happy to help you. The rooms are only basic, but this didn't matter to us, as we only used our room to get ready in and sleep in, so why do you need a fancy room for that??? The rooms are cleaned every day, with the towels and the bed linen changed regulary though-out the holiday. If you are looking for a good night out, then go to the bar, it is great, big Dennis is the best barman ever, he makes amazing cocktails!  The greek nights are also fantastic, the dancers are really good, and will have you dancing all night long!!

There is loads of things to do in Alykanas, but i would highly recommend that you go on the Jeep Safari with Zante insight, as this is a great day out for everyone. All the drivers are really good and know what they are doing. This best driver has got to be Jullian, he is mad!!! Really good!

If you are looking for a louder night out, then the bar accross the road from Letsos is really good (Jam-in) All the staff are very friendly and up for a laugh. They will not close the bar untill everyone has gone, and if that means 6am, then 6am it is!!! Johnny has so much energy it is unbelievable! He will keep you up all night!!    You will not leave this bar only having one drink!!!

Overall we had a fantastic holiday, everyone was really friendly and helpfull, especially our Kosmar rep, Matt. He knows his stuff and is around to help you whenever you need him. His pub quiz's are the best, in the Letsos bar, you will have a great laugh!!!

Having heard a lot about these apartments, we were a bit concerned, especially as we were taking friends with us this year, booking a room for 4 Adults and 3 Adults. But we need not have worried: the rooms were spotlessly clean and well appointed, by Greek standards, offering a shower curtain in the bathroom and modern facilities all round.

A lovely holiday and a hotel to recommend. No hesitation 

Like most peop;e we were worried about going to the Letsos after reading this website, however we arrived back yesterday after having a fantastic 2 weeks in alkanas staying at the Letsos.

Would go again!!!

I think there are good and bad rooms, I've never stayed there but people I know have stayed and said that not only were the walls between rooms very thin but did not actually go all the way up (like the wall that separates 2 toilet cubicles) so they could hear absolutely everything from next door, including conversations.

Hi can anyone tell me where abouts the apartments are sitiuated? What restaurants are they near?

Just returned from a week staying at the Letsos Hotel. This is the second time myself and my partner have stayed here - we were there two years ago (and Eleni and Yanis remembered us - for all the right reasons, of course  ).Once again, excellent accommodation. Can't fault the cleanliness at all. Sheets changed regularly and change of towels half way through the week. Again, the towels aren't great, but take your own! Great location if you don't want the hectic lifestyle offered at Laganas in the south of the island. Beach is a short walk away, with plenty of watersports to choose from - recommend hiring a motor boat from Hotel Valais (blue hut on the beach), 70 Euros for 5 hours, great value and you can do your own tour of the Blue Caves. Makris Gialos halfway up the coast is excellent for snorkelling - lots of fish in clear blue water.

I know there are negative reviews for the Letsos, but remember folks it is Greece, it is Kosmar, it's low cost and it is self catering - so don't expect 5 * . Eleni and Yanis are happy to recommend trips if you hire a car, and will help you brush up on your basic greek if you ask

I have just come back from a week @ the Letsos, and i will definately will be going back there next year. It was so clean and everyone was so friendly. Stuff was so cheap.The rooms were basic but we where never in our room. It's literally a 3 min walk to the beach turning right out of the Letos , where you pass 2 shops where you can buy anything from food to lilo's. There is a bar/restaurant on the beach, and loadz of water sports, 20 metres to the left  of Letsos was a bakery which was lovely (better than greggs). The nicest place to eat was Dionosis, Theres loadz of horse and carriages on the streets at night which take you to the restarants which are free.

We spent  a week in Alikanas in June 2005, staying at the Letsos Aparthotel, which is advertised in Kosmar's brochure as having the "benefits of self catering" and being "ideal for a family". In fact the facilities did not fit this description at all:

• It was not possible to prepare and cook a meal safely on the two small rings that were situated directly below the wooden staircase. This was clearly a fire hazard, and as you can see from the enclosed photographs, the wood of the stairs was already charred from the heat of the rings.
• The fridge door handle was broken, leaving a sharp spike exposed in a narrow space, which is hazardous for anyone to catch themselves on, but particularly dangerous for our smallest child.
• The bathroom floor drain cover was broken, revealing a jagged edged hole and an open drain in the middle of the floor – again, unsafe for a property marketed at those with young children.

 There were other minor problems with the accommodation, such as no plug for the kitchen sink (– again making washing up for self catering a problem), and erratic water supply – which completely ceased altogether at one point. We had to ask for a bed sheet without holes in, and were constantly given three instead of four towels for our family. The toilets in the hotel bar and pool area were dirty, with no toilet seats, and in one case a chipped toilet bowel. There was no soap or hand drying facility.

We stayed at the Letsos for one week in September, the room we were given had two electric sockets broken and hanging off by the cable, which with a three year old was not good.

We stayed at the Letsos (self catering) for the first 2 weeks in September and hated it.  The room smelt musty and damp and this never changed throughout our stay.  The bathroom was dirty – in fact our studio was cleaner when the cleaners didn’t come in!!!  We arrived on Sunday and our linen was changed the following Thursday!!!! – the linen and towels all needed replacing and were almost threadbare.  The cleaner left her dirty old mop outside our room one day – no wonder it failed to clean !!

HOWEVER, the resort of Alykanas is fantastic (so is Alikes!) and this more than made up for the short time we spent in our room.  We never gave the Letsos another euro while we were there (I was concerned about hygiene in the pool considering our rooms??) but there are many places you can go.  The Mill is lovely – best sunbeds/pool I have ever used but with the wide variety of bars/tavernas available you are bound to find a fave!

Romanza do nice meals (with free wine)!  Iguana and Cuba are great places to drink.

In Alikes, try the Ambrosia Garden for a nice meal out (great views) and Sugarush and Cheers are other fave drinking establishments.

Busters, Ponderosa, Toms Place (best breakfasts we found!), Dilemma all worth a visit – only place we didn’t enjoy was Greedy Greek – to greasy (pardon the pun)!

If you can change your booking at the Letsos; please do – try the Alykanas Beach or the Village if you have children.

Stayed in the "new" self catering block set back from the main hotel 2 weeks ended 28 August 2005. Great Holiday but not the best accomodation. The air conditioning IS payable locally anda rip off at 45 Euros (£30) per week. You have to say at the beginning of the holiday if you want it. Ours leaked and we got some (but not all) money back. The pool is deep (2.8metres deep end)

After reading all the bad reports about these apartments we were plaesantly suprised the Apartments were not as bad as we expected. However expect very basic accomodation they tend not to spend a lot of time or money on safety or on cleaning products. The resort was fantastic as was the beach,lovely restaraunts and a horse and carriage trip to Alykes is well worth the 5 euros, Zakynthion people are very friendly and will do anything for you. Our only gripe is with the tour operator Kosmar and the airline XL.com. We suffered a 30hour delay going out to Zante and nobody at the airport would give us any straight answers to when we would actually be flying and to top it all Kosmar sold us an insurance which was not worth the paper it was written on therefore unable to claim for delay, my 6 year old daughter had an infection while we were away and it was only then we discovered we weren't covered for any medical bills either, luckily it didn't get too serious or we would have been in trouble.  Other than that the apartments were fine and the family who owned Letsos were very friendly and do anything for you.

NO ONE CHANGE THERE BOOKIN FOR THE LETSOS HOTEL. IT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOTEL I'VE EVER BEEN TO AND IT WAS SITUATED IN THE BEST PLACE IT COULD BE! JUST A QUICK NOTE TO SAY HOW WONDERFUL LETSOS IS AND U WONT REGRET STAYING THERE! X X X X X  X  AND THE BOYS AND MEN ARE FIT TOO! BONUS!

i really enjoyed my stay at letsos. the fit greek boys on the mopeds who kept driving past was the highlight of the holiday! there was also a fit pool boy who walked in on me sleeping to fix our door but i didn't mind coz he was g.l! anyway i still miss greece now and we returned about 6 weeks ago! i miss the friendly people. all the men and boys were fit and u just wanted 2 flick with there specially done hair! me and my friends, sally, sog, tilly and r.v will b goin bak 2 letsos wen we are 18 to find the fit boys that i met whilst in zante! they cant wait! neither can i obviously. i honestly cant express how much fun i had in zante and i cant wait to visit there again. i will stay in letsos because the pool was lovely the people were friendly and i loved greek night in the pool bar! the pool bar was lovely too. it couldn't be better if it tried and the barman were fit too! poppyeyes and goat we called them! i miss them too! i miss all of the people i met in zante and i thank them for making my stay a joy! thankyou and i hope to see you all soon! the hotel is gorgous by the way! thankyou! i highly recommend letsos. it is situated beautifully and i miss it so! do stay theere! have a nice time if you do. oh and if you do say hey to costis, christos and nick, from the girl who stayed in letsos a few weeks ago. they are fit! they really are. honestly! ok say hey to them all. bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My partner and I stayed in the Letsos hotel from 10/07/05 until 24/07/05. We both agreed that it was the best holiday we had ever been on! This was mainly due to the excellent accomodation. The room was fairly basic, but it was clean and all we needed as we don't spend much time in it...especially when the resort is so lovely. The pool was amazing! We spent most days sunbathing and swimming, and the hotel snack bar was more than adequate for breakfast and lunch. The location was excellent, with a combination of restaurants, lively bars and tavernas, and the beach was a two minute walk from the hotel. Eleni is the most fun loving, pleasant woman we could have ever wished to meet. She and her husband were helpful, really funny and spoke excellent English... far better that our Greek! Eleni particularly made the Greek night one of the best nights of the holiday. We would definately recommend it! The hotel and resort is perfect for couples and families, and offers an ideal combination of Greek tradition while making you feel totally at home. We didn't want to leave!

We stayed here form the 3rd july to the 17th july. The rooms were clean, Sheets and Towels were not that great i think they could do with getting some new ones,they were clean enought but as they were that old very thread bare.

We stayed at the Letsos June 2005 and had no problems at all. Very friendly family run Aparthotel. The pool was a good size and clean with plenty of sun beds. The pool bar was very good and prices not to bad at all.
The location couldn't have been better we were down the side and the view was of the mountains.
The room was spacious and clean. So I cannot understand some of the earlier comments about this accommodation, in fact I was a little worried before we went but was very pleasently surprised.
And just to add that Alykanas is a wonderful resort.

I CANT BELIEVE WHAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE SAID ABOUT THIS HOTEL!! WHEN I READ THE COMMENTS ON HERE BEFORE WE WENT ON HOLIDAY (22/5/05-05/06/05) I WAS REALLY WORRIED AND CONSIDERED CHANGING MY BOOKING. HOW WRONG CAN SOME PEOPLE BE? THE LETSOS WAS A FANTASTIC HOTEL, CLEANERS CAME EVERYDAY, THE LOCATION WAS GREAT AND THE FAMILY WHO RUN IT COULDNT BE FRIENDLIER! YES THE ACCOMODATION IS BASIC, BUT HELLO THIS IS GREECE! I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK WITHOUT ANY HESITATION, AND IF YOU ARE PLANNING A HOLIDAY TO THE LETSOS YOU WILL LOVE IT, AS LONG AS U ARENT ONE OF THESE PEOPLE WHO EXPECTS FLUFFY TOWELS, PLASTIC SHOWER CAPS AND CHOCOLATES ON YR PILLOW!!

 i booked a holiday at letsos for my family, when i read the comments i was very worried for them, however they went on sunday and i have recieved two text messages from them and they say the letsos is fine they are having a great time and the people they have met are very nice, i hope this message gives encouragement to all you people who have read some of the awfull comments written.

I wouldn't usually add my comments to websites but feel compelled to on this occasion! After reading some of the views on the Letsos, to say we were apprehensive about our holiday would be an understatement. 

Me and my family arrive at the Letsos on 22/05/05 and are really looking forward too it .We have read all the comments on this site and will go with an open mind ,we have went on budget holidays many times and know what standards to expect we have always found the Greek people friendly,on many ocassions in our experiance it is the Brits that expect to much . When we arrive back i will give you our opinion for what its worth.

   We are going to this place in August, is it so bad as everyone says.  We have been to Greece several times and know the self catering facilities are basic and that sometimes the showers are cold but - Is the accommodation really filthy and is it worth changing the booking??

Add your comment here.To Hayley.   We have never stayed at Letsos Aparthotel but from the outside it looks quite nice. My comment to you is that the Alykanas Beach Village is a fantastic place to stay, we have stayed there 4 times and are going back with 16 of our friends and family in june this year. The self catering facility there is excellent, and is keep very clean. The 4 swimming pools are also fantastic, with the added bonus of being right on the beach. It is NOT an ugly building and does not effect the beach outlook at all. I feel that you may be a tad jealous of this accommodation as you never got to stay in it!! I would suggest that if you visit Zante again give it a go, you would never stay anywhere else on the Island again. ..

Me and my partner stayed here last May and we found it one of the best apartments we have stayed in. We have stayed in 7 different properties and I can say that the people where really friendly and always welcoming. The room was lovely. As for the self catering facilities these are never good in Greece and although it was basic like the comment before if you go on holiday just to cook what is the point. I would recommend here to anyone! As for the last comment about the Alykanas beach village what a pathetic eye sore. It compleatly spoilt the beach and is far to big to be considered nice!

i can't really believe some people on here. ok, the letsos isn't exactly classy but it's two minutes from the beach, within easy walking distance of alikes and not outrageously noisy. we paid £250 for two weeks and i don't really think you can complain about much for that. i mean, who wants to spend the holiday in the hotel anyway? it was a good base, the self catering was crap but food is so cheap why bother cooking? they could have cleaned it a bit better, and some days the water was tepid to cold, but this is greece.

My husband and I spent a week at the Letsos between 3 and 10 October. What an awful place. The bedlinen was disgusting, grey, thin and bobbly. The pillows were knobbly, uncomfortable and very soiled. The spare pillows were covered in hair. The towels were stained and grey and only changed once during our stay. (I found the linen cupboard and went hunting when it was open for more acceptable linen, but all of it was of very low standard). The self-catering equipment was laughable, two small vegetable knives, two forks, two disgusting teaspoons, a couple of ice trays and a saucepan, two bowls, two plastic plates that were scored heavily with knives. The cooking rings were attached to the draining board, shocking! There was a green copper residue around the taps in the kitchen sink and the bathroom sink. The shower curtain was covered in blood, probably from mosquitoes. above the water in the swimming pool was three inches of green mould and two out of three sunbeds were completely broken. The Kosmar rep wasn't much help. I have written a two page letter to Kosmar complaining and will keep you informed of progress. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The resort itself is wonderful and we are hoping to go back next year for two weeks at the Alykanas Beach Hotel - sparkling clean and in a beautiful position.

When my wife and I booked our holiday on teletext we then checked out this web site. We were a bit concerned when we saw the reports but we thought that it may be over exaggerated. But we should of cancelled. The first room we were showed was a loft conversion, where the sun had been on the roof all day the temperature was unbearable, a 240v socket was hanging out of hole in the wall about a foot wide and access was via a wooden ladder. when we went to change rooms they said that the only other room available was one with air con, this cost 90 euro for two weeks, the hotel wasn't full and i'm sure there were other rooms available but it was there way of getting an extra cash out of you. we were also offered a fridge at the rate of 6 euro a day. we took the air con room it was much better but it smelt mustey and the bathroom flooded 3 times from the room above. the tv had no remote control and the flap covering the control on the tv was screwed and glued so if you wanted the tv you had to pay extra for the remote. the cleaners tried hard with the materials they were given to do their job with but they are fighting a losing battle. the owners only smiled when you handed over money.
hotel letsos, sos the clues are there. dont go here, cancel, the resort is lovely just dont stay here.

On arrivel to the hotel. I said to my wife and two friends this looks good, but after booking in and walking in to are room.I was shocked. it was smelly.stunk of damp old furniture looked as if it had been painted with car tyre black.The toilet and shower room were disguisting filthy.the cutlery was filthy and rusty.the kettle leaked and did not work. the linen must of been used since the place opened . thin and grey.the blankets were disgusting.the hole room was a shambles. we were suppled with one towel each ,small which was only changed once and the sheets.we complained and the next day they supplied us with a new kettle and tried to clean up in a fashion.god help anyone who wanted to eat in the room . Same story for the two friends room to. LETSOS HOTEL FORGET IT

THIS WAS THE 3RD YEAR IVE BEEN 2 ZANTE AND I LOVED THE LAST 2 YEARS BUT THESE APPARTMENTS OR SHOULD I SAY S*IT HOLE WAS THE WORSE EVER!! THE FLUSH HAD BROKE ME AN MY MATE HAD 2 FIX IT OURSELFS UNTIL THE PLUMMER CAME DAYS LATER.. WE GOT ACCUSED OF ROBBING STUFF AND WE GOT FINED 525 EUROS, AND WE HAD PROOF IT WASNT US BUT WE STILL HAD 2 PAY IT OTHERWISE WELL GET ARRESTED. ALL THE PEOPLE WANTED WAS OUR MONEY COZ THERE ROBBING B*STARDS. AND THE OLD FAT MAN THAT OWNS IT, SHOULD BE THE 1 GETTIN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING TWO PEOPLE I KNOW!!! I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN EVEN IF SOME1 PAYED ME TO. AND ALSO THE MAIDS TURN UP 2 UR ROOM WEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT AND STAY FOR ABOUT 2 MINS. THE SHEETS ARE THIN AND RIPPED, THE LID ON THE BIN DOESNT FIT, AND THE NOBS ON THE DRAWS FALL OFF, THE PLUGS ON THE WALLS ARE HANGING OFF. AND THE AIR CONDITIONING ITS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY DO NOT PAY FOR IT!!!THIS HAS PUT ME OFF GREECE ALL TOGETHER!!! EVEY SUN LOUNGER HAS AT LEASE 1 CRACK IN IT AND THE TOILETS NEAR THE POOL ARE NOT FIT FOR A RAT TO P*SS IN!!! IF ANYONE IS THINKING ABOUT STAYING HERE THEN PLEASE DONT!!!

never again wud i ever go here in my entire life!!!! for starters we got there and the flush on our toilet wasnt workin....we then went to have a shower at the night and the water was freezin!!!!! we payed about 50 euros for the air con which didnt work properly and plus u had to shut the balcony doors for it to evn work!!! an the appartments itself wernt exactly clean!! i wud only recommend alikanas to ppl wantin a quiet holiday becoz its such a quiet place an the bars never have many ppl in them at all!! the best thing about it was 1 of the reps we met, charlene-she wasnt actually workin at letsos but she was top!!!

My mother & i have just got back from our stay at Letsos Alykanas.I have to say it was the worst accomodation we have ever stayed at.
On arrival we were shown to an appartment where the toilet was overflowing with excrement & the lights didnt work.We complained and were moved. In the 2nd room our balcony doors didnt shut properly & air con remote didnt work,nor kettle.After 5days we had to ask for clean towels & bedding which when we got them were paper thin and grey.The sheets were also torn. At the end of the 1st week we had no water at all for 2 days .We complained & were moved to a 3rd room!Where we had water but it was always cold.
The rooms were "cleaned" with a filthy mop& sinks cleaned with a dirty rag.The pool was cloudy & had rusty drain covers around it .
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I know the Greek islands can be basic but this was awful.Zante is lovely & the resort is very nice .Would recommend Alykanas Beach village (Some friends stayed there)

The resort is lovely with plenty of restaurants and a lovely beach nearby. The owners Lenny and Dennis are friendly but......the major disappointment being the poor standard of cleanliness of the apartments. The first thing we did was to take a visit to the supermarket to buy some bleach for the badly stained toilet and other cleaning materials. The bedsheets are very grey and thin and make sure you take plenty of towels as you are only supplied with a small towel each which is changed on a five day cycle!

We have been away with Kosmar quite a few times and the accomodation has been basic but clean and well maintained. This was not the case this time. A real disappointment!

We stayed at the Letsos and had a fantastic time in fair comment you pay for what you get. It gets me quite cross when I read these letters and find people slagging off the accomodation. Kosmar offer holidays at a basic rock bottom price and tell you that the greek accomodation is basic. If you dont want cheap and cheerful dont book it. We had a great time we have been travelling with Kosmar for years, we book self catering so we can dine out and eat the beautiful greek food. Alani and Dennis were briiliant people and if any problem it was sorted, the atmosphere was brilliant, hotle is other nationalities but this gave us a chance to chat to lots of cultures. If going use Dennis travel in town to go on the trips Alani told us this insurance the same as with tour operators, but better form of trips. Half day on Spead boat to the caves lovely dont go on full day 8 hours by boat you will be sick. For fantastic food Dino's we nearly ate there every night also the pie shack (for people who want english food), see the turtles but the correct trip with the nature reservists through dennis travel, and go in August and it is St Dennis the patriot saints day last Sunday of the month, the whole town comes alive in Zante town, lovely place, we are even thinking of buying an apartment out here.

We have recently come back from staying at the Letsos and before we went I was rather worried about what the hotel would be like. Well it wasn't luxury but you don't expect that in Greece. We did have a fridge from hell that kept us awake one night but overall we were happy. You had to pay extra for air conditioning but it wasn't very expensive so its worth it just to get a nights sleep. The pool was nice and clean and they were enough sun beds though I would recommend getting up early to bag one. The hotel was close to all the restaurants and bars though it wasn't noisy so don't worry about being kept awake at night. Also the beach was only about 8 min walk away.
So if you are going to the Letsos sometime soon, it is basic but don't let that put you off. If you are expecting more, then you really should be paying more for your holiday

We stayed at Letsos in May 2000 and we were given an apartment over the pool bar, which was obviously noisy at night.
The room was small and shabbily furnished and the kitchen was in a small alcove. We had no hot water for the week we were there and when we kept complaining were told to run the "hot" water for 15 mins as it had to come under the swimming pool!!!! Luckily we had kind neighbours with hot water who let us use their shower.
Towels and bed linen were a disgrace.
I would not recommend Letsos to anyone.

My husband and I stayed at this "aparthotel" 9-16 May 2004. After reading previous messages I was really concerned - if i'd only known I would have cancelled. Our apartment was on the ground floor at the end of a long dark corridor, cold to say the least it was freezing in there. The beds were so damp. Self catering aspect was to say the least discusting, all we had when we arrived was a fridge, no cooking facilities, no kettle, no hairdryer. I must say though that as soon as we complained it was soon rectified. The bedding smelt especially the blankets - dirty and musty, had they been cleaned I wonder? The furniture was old and smelly. The apartment was cleaned but not very good. The shower plug hole was blocked, so every time you had a shower the whole bathroom flooded. The towels supplied leaved a lot to be desired but again if you asked for clean ones they would supply them. They did try. The restaurant and bar wasn't open so no on site facilities as described in the brochure, only the swimming pool bar. We've been to Zante lots of times but sorry to say this has put me off ever going again and we just couldn't wait to get home. I wont even elaborate on the airport and all the different queues - that'll be a nice surprise for you on your return home.

My partner and I stayed at the Letsos apartments this year, 02/05/04-09/05/04, are had been a bit concerned after reading the previous comments. I am glad to say we were both delighted with our accommodation. The rooms were cleaned every second day (perhaps because it was the beginning of the season). The owners are extremely friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Nice quiet location. The only drawback was that some activities did not start on the island until the 2nd week of May, including scuba diving at St Nicholas.
Car hire - do not go through your rep - we were ripped off for approx £60. Pepppas car hire is highly recommended-good rates and full insurance cover. Very friendly people to deal with
We will definately be returning to Zakynthos - probably in September this year.

Hi, just back from Zante yesterday (5 October 2003)with my boyfriend. Stayed at the Letsos and we had a really good holiday. The hotel was in an excellent location, less than a 5 minute walk from the beach which is very nice. The hotel is an an excellent location, it takes about 2 minutes to walk into the centre of the resort.

Read all the comments about the hotel before l went and was quite worried it would ruin our hoilday but it was great. The weather was also superb for that time of year.

The family who run the hotel were friendly. BUT the cleanliness was
disgusting. The floor was mopped with filthy water, the sheets where so thin, grey and dirty and the towels were fit for nothing but the floor. A shame because the hotel does have potential and in a lovely resort of Alikanas. Still we made up for it with the lovely restaurants and friendly people all around us in the resort.

Just got back today! Nightmare flight back to Manchester. But that's another story for another time.
Agree with most of previous comments but if you expect 5* in Zante you shouldn't be allowed to cross the road by yourselves never mind go abroad!
Saying that, the family are very friendly and make you feel most welcome even if at any given time one of them seems to be charging you for something. Not impressed with having to pay nearly 100 quid for Aircon but that's an issue with the Travel Agents I think.
One more thing, will someone tell Dennis that if he turns the music (crap greek technofunk) down, he might actually get people drinking in the bar!
Still love the family though, even if I do report them to the Monopolies Commission.

The previous comment about the supermarket may be true but it does have an extensive range of goods. The comment does not reflect the true nature of this family run hotel. The rooms a typical greek accommodation, adequate, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The description in the Kosmar catalogue is very accurate and we had a very good time during the first two weeks of July. The pool is never crowded and the beach is only 3 minutes walk away. Restaurants are also nearby and if you fell lazy you can use the free horse darwn transport near the hotel to most tavernas.

Beware of the new Letsos Supermarket........
He has tried to rip-off a few people staying in Alykanas last week, I being one of them but I saw what he was doing......charged 1.94 instead of 1.49E
One tomato cost 80cents until I questioned it and then he said he was very tried with lots of tourists!
A friend was charged for 6 drinks when she only bought 4........so beware!

Visited in September this year, lovely hotel, friendly staff,(Dennis was crazy!), though the cleanliness was a little poor, Sheets were changed twice in a week, the toilets were ok .. though the typical Greek ancient sewage system was.... interesting! The hotel was well situated about 5 minutes from a lovely beach. A few watersports- though were quite high priced. Lots of places to eat near the hotel, all friendly staff and cheap. I particuarly liked the Possidon. Lots of cocktail bars that are so relaxed that you could sit sipping a cocktail, until early in the morning. Most evenings we ended up coming back to the hotel pool bar, though the drinks were quite expensive, you could probably pop in the Letsos shop next door and by the same thing 1/2 the price. The hotel has a lovely pool where we met so many friendly people. Alykes about 15 minutes walk from the hotel is a little bit more happening, was introduced by some friends we met, to a bar called the Relax bar, quite small though the food was amazing well worth a visit. Went on a excursion to see the ship wreck- was a little disapointed though the beach was absoutely amazing, the waters and caves around it are well worth seeing. Had a great holiday, lovely weather, people and food. Would go back to Zante again though maybe not to the same hotel.

The staff were friendly enough. We did not eat in the restaurant - why when you have loads of fantastic bars/restaurants on your doorstep? The bedding was AWFUL! sheets so thin you could read through them and full of holes. They and the towels only changed once in the week. The floors not cleaned terribly well either but Hey! it is Greece! Fantastic views of the mountains too.

Nice location near to Alykanas beach but poor low category hotel (new towels and bed-clothes each 5 days!!!). You must take a room in 1st floor because of not so nice basement rooms. Be prepared for poor meal and very high prices in to hotel related supermarket and terrible looking bathroom (used for a lot of years by thousands vacationist without any renovation). It is not possible to pay with card in hotel so you will be asked to go to supermarket to get money which will cost you 2% of requested sum!?! But location is very nice and I will retun back but not in this hotel anymore.

Going back to Letso again this year. Woundering if anyone else had kids around the age of 10 going at the same time. We go on 21st July for 2 weeks. My daughter loves it here but it would be great if we knew there were going to be some possible playmates

Ended up at he Letsos when the Beach Village was not finished. Wonderful Hotel and the owners and staff are very helpful. Would recommend this Hotel without reservation and would book this again.

This hotel was fab. The whole place was the perfect spot for a great holiday. We are coming to Zante again this June and fingers crossed we will be back to the Letsos.

We have been going to this Hotel for many years in fact since it opened. Very nice family who work exstremely hard to make their customers very welcome. Going again this year and hopefully for many years to come. Close to all amenities, beach, bars, restaurants and shops. Excellent location.

The Letsos is an excellent choice for a great family holiday. Alykanas is still unspoilt enough to enjoy the fantastic greek hospitality. We have been back 3 times plus and would thoroughly recommend it - especially for those British who want a Greek holiday rather than England in Greece!!!!!

This hotel was fantastic... from the pool to the room everything was immaculate. The staff were excellent and were a credit to the location. The barmen were really friendly especially dennis!! and the receptionist always had a smile on her face!! They should keep up the good work!!!!!! I am looking forward to going again next year I would recommend this location to anybody who wants to go to Zante!

Good pool, good resturants nearby, good, friendly staff. Good place for children, we are would go back this year but it was fully booked.

Great pool. Some apartments higher quality than others!
