Recently returned from Garden village We got Married in the Gardens here with 30 guests we all had an amazing time we will never forget.
Garden Village is a unique Place to stay its so relaxed the Studios & Apartments are so tastefully set out, lovely grounds great large wooden sun Lounge’s, pool snack bar serves really nice food all day and the Owners carol & Nickos are amazing nothing is to much Trouble, Emma & Gemma & all the staff are so friendly it feels a like visiting family here a real home from home, Being a fairly small place you get to know everyone around the pool & Bar, You certainly wont be disappointed if you stay here, Sophia’s supermarket it just 30 seconds up the little lane, 1 minute away from all the shops & bars a great location beach is about a five minute walk, do go to there BBq night its great fun & very reasonably priced, Carol will advise you of places to go & see, Hire a car and explore the island our personal favourite was Zante town, Garden Village will always be special to us and cant wait to go again we Booked though First Choice, a truly amazing place that need to be experienced to appreciate it. Thank you all see you soon xx
we have just got back from two of the best weeks holiday we have ever had
We went to visit carol and everyone a few times when we were there as she is great. We couldnt stay there as coming from london and scotland the flights with first choice were on different days. The place is still great, pool snack bar is super and carol even helped us out to get a wheel chair for my friend.Nothing is ever too much for Carol she is a lovely person and will make your stay so special you will want to return
I have been trying to find contact details for Garden Village. If anyone has an email address or telephone number please can you pass it on to me. Thanks.
I have just come back from kalimaki on 09/05/06 their are some beautiful restaurants their carol who owned the garden village apartments recommended 2 restaurants one called dias and the other called michaelos they were both about the best in the resort and did a variation of food for all tastes, that helped make it a wonderful holiday
My partner and i stayed at Garden Village for a week during August 2005. We had a fabulous holiday, Carol and her family made us feel very welcome.
hi all is ok. my uncle came to my mums wedding on thurs and he is doing well. yeah emma still gona be there i think. il find out in 16days as il be there then!!!
to malcom dexter. you will need to keep your son entertained. there isnt anywhere close that he can go on his own. the apartments are very quiet as is the surrounding area. if he likes the pool then great but if he starts getting bored then you'll find yourself walking to thebeach or mini golf which is only 5 mins walk away. good for relaxing but not so great for kids
hello going to garden village for the first time with my wife pam and son joshua whose 9 will there be plenty to keep him occupied? only 4weeks to go now first holiday for 3years.
P.s. No-one has mentioned our poor little emma. She also works at the appartments and was very helpfull and funny. My little aimee took a shining to this one. x x x
Hello everyone. My mother Tracey, brother Nic and Daughter Aimee all came here in october last year. It was my daughters first holiday. she was 1. Carol and co were excellent and like everyone else says. they're fab and will do whatever they can to make sure you have the best holiday ever. They certainly made sure my daughters first holiday was one to remember. BLAIR MCINTYRE you wild beast you. If you read this, ive lost your number. Email me on Joanna.Thain@hotmail.com.
hi my aunts and i visited the garden village in september was so impressed with the place that im dying too come back. carol and all the staff couldnt have done anything else for you if they had tried, also met really nice people who have been regulars there for the past few years you must go too carols bbq nights where she learns you too do greek dancing and esther learned me a bit salsa
Just been reading some of the comments that have been put about the garden village appartments! i first stayed at my cousins apartments (Carol is my cousin) in 1997, visited again in 1998 then popped in in July earlier this year!!! i just want to say thanks to all of you who have said how nice and friendly she and the staff at her apartments. relating back to the one negative problem (in 2003) just shows how good my cousin is in the fact that she knows when something (such as a member of staff) isn't right and instantly replaces it. i no we all judge things on the first impression but surely after all these positive comments it must be worth a second visit? The comment about the small child is highly unlikely of my cousin as with two children herself, and a lot in our family, this would have been very unintentional and im sure everyone would agree with me.
Hi there, I was looking through the brochures for next years holiday, and liked the look of the Garden Village. We usually go to Spain, and to hotels with kids clubs for our 2 children aged 8 and 4. I was wondering if this hotel would be suitable, and would there be plenty for kids to see and do? If anyone has been to this hotel with kids of similar ages,I would love to hear your comments.
Esther we are also going on the 25th and we were there in may so wouldnt go back if it was bad.The Garden Village is lovely and the only noise we had there were the birds and the odd noise from scooters so dont worry.Laganas is the place getting bad press.Kalamaki is what you make it.Im 36 and dont do the club thing anymore so like my visits to Kalamaki where we eat out at the nice tavernas and do a few bars.We couldnt get into the Garden Village as it was busy so staying at the Louros Beach but will be up to visit Carole and Andonis the barman. We love it there and im sure you will.Try Zeppos and Parthanol as they are great tavernas. If you like Feta then try the garden Villages Feta Bake.Maybe see you have a great time
Hi we are going to the Garden Village apartments on 25 Sept. Reviews of apartments look great but what is the resort REALLY like? Is there much trouble there, is it as loud as some of the other resorts seem to be now - am referring to the bad press Zante has been getting this summer. Thanks.
ARRIVED BACK FROM GARDEN VILLAGE ON 6/9/05 AFTER TWO GREAT WEEKS.
Arrived home from Garden Village on the 28th, once again I could of stayed there forever! There are no words to express just how wonderful Carol is.... and what can I say about Emma apart from how gorgeous are her clothes!? I cant understand anyone who dislikes these apartments...both my mum, brother and myself all managed to have a great holiday. Like last year everyone was so pleasent and I made pleanty of friends...southerner Joe and Kim what can I say about you apart from your both legends! The BBQ was excellent all that food and dancing, a truely Greek experience, infact it was so good we went twice this year! My holiday was so good this year that im hopefully returning next year with my mum, despite the fact I just wanted a girlie holiday with my mates!
Just got back from our two week stay at the Garden Village and I loved every minute of it. The staff and guests were all really friendly. The one thing that kept us amused the most was Jackie Boy!! Definately going back there again.
We all had a lovely time at Garden Village. Nice apartments and friendly staff and atmosphere. The large number of guests returning for repeat visits speaks for itself.
Just got back from Zante we didnt stay at the garden villas but we called in(Quite a few times) as we were looking for a wedding destination in June next year, My fiance and i fell in love with the place it has such a charm and homely feel all the staff & guests were friendly, so we have booked our wedding and a few studio's and cant wait to share this lovely place with our friends& relatives, its near the main road but this this is a good thing as your close enough to shops etc but far enough away to quiet & relaxing oh i cant wait!!
i went 2 garden village in 2003 and loved it so much im goin in a couple of days i cant wait!!!! every1 @ garden village were lovely and so welcomin and friendly im goin soon yay!!!!!!!
THE ONLY COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE,IS THAT I DONT LIVE IN GARDEN VILLAGE ALL YEAR LONG. I LOVE THE PLACE. DONT BELIEVE ME.....................
TRY IT FOR YOURSELF. LOVE TO ALL X Xi just got back from my third visit to the garden village, and i've decided to go again this september. the staff are lovely, although i don't understand how they can remember absolutely everyones name! the apartments, staff, food and location are great. i would definately recommend it.
I am writing with reference to the comments Lisa made and can confirm that I agree with her completely. I feel it unfair that people are throwing comments at her about certain aspects of their holiday when those issues where never raised in the first place. I too had a bad experience at Garden Villiage and I am in no way "miserable" and do not know how to enjoy myself as you imply is Lisa's problem. At the time I visited, I could name but 3 or 4 couple's who where not happy. If this is the what you get by voicing your opinion's then the site should not be made public. Each to their own. I agree with Lisa 100%!!
Just a quick note to all those self opinionated individuals who have chosen to manipulate and discriminate my comments. I have no grudge with anyone who choose to give their comments on this site, regardless of their age, colour or creed. My opinions are quite simply - MY opinions. I do not choose to have a public slanging match on a web site. All I have to say is how me and my family felt whilst there. For your information, whilst browsing the net this year for a holiday, Garden Villiage was one of the cheapest. Regardless of this, we will not return. Discussion closed!!
i have seen lisa comments and as she said she entitled to her opinoin but so are other people as well.
2nd time to try to do this, ratings doesn't seem to work so here are my real ratings:
location: excellent
quietness: average (local scooter drivers and cockerels)
cleanliness: excellent
Loved the apartments and the location very convenient. Carol made excellent apartments special by her personal touches and friendliness. Right from the start we felt at home. Fresh flowers in room and on every table in the bar area just one example. Bar food very good. Lots of guests on 2nd or 3rd visit so that speaks for itself. Adonis who runs the bar is very efficient and very easy to get on with. He also recommended restaurants which were very good.
Don't do First choice excursions, use tour operators on main street - 10 euros per person cheaper and better coaches.
Hello there, i'm writing on my dads registration just 2 air a comment of my own. if anybody is silly enough 2 take a look at lisa's comments they are making a huge error of judgement. this holiday previous was the best holiday i have ever been on. i am 17 years old (not a child in any way!!!) i went on the holiday for a loud and entertaining time, whilst my dad went on the holiday for a quiet and relaxing time, yet still we both successfully managed 2 come back 2 England extremely happy and both relaxed. When i 1st arrived at the apartments i wasn't 2 sure what 2 think, 5 minutes later i was settled in and thought it 2 be fantastic. Carol is the nicest person i think i have met on a holiday, not only getting on with fully grown adults yet with CHILDREN such as myself. she was welcoming and always had a great chat. The rest of the staff where also fantastic and i made extremely good friends with the barman Claudy Boy. We would even go out after he finished his shift on the bar, which was extremely clean, much like the whole of the apartments. i made many friends on the holiday from other apartments and they would prefer 2 come around to the garden apartments rather than there own. i even met some people who i thought as, as rough and carol still welcomed them and made them enjoy there holiday 2 the full, not causing trouble 1 slight bit. Claude the barman even rang me on my mobile once home 2 see that i was ok......!!!!!! i hope that anybody reading this is convinced 2 come here as i'm positive.... actually i guarantee you will have the best holiday ever!!
I agree with Claire and Lauran,I visted the Garden Village with my Wife and my Son (17 years) and my Daughter (14 years) and we all thought it was the best Hoilday Apartments we had stayed in,which is quite a few over the years,Carol and all her Staff were Excellent and the Apartments were clean and well looked after, the food was great, and the B-B-Q was excellent, maybe Lisa was stuck at the side because she did not mix with anybody. The way Lisa answer back to Lauran makes me think that she will find fault in everything and everywhere she goes, might be best to stay at home in the future.I thought the Garden Village was that Good that we are all going back again this Year which is the first time we have ever visted a place twice before, when we decided on this years Holiday as a family we all wanted to go back again, only problem we had was getting an Apartment there as they book up very fast which shows that Lisa is in the minority.
I can't understand what Lisa's problem is!! I think I agree with Lauren, if you go there with a miserable attitude you are not going to fit in! We have been to the Garden Village twice, we are going back again this year and are looking at booking for next year. Every member of staff is friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, all you have to do is ask (maybe that's something you forgot to do Lisa? Or maybe everyone was sick of your moaning so chose to ignore it!!)
I agree, yes you are entitled to voice your opinion Lisa however im not sure anyone else who leaves a message on here will take much notice of it, which leaves me wondering why you are bothering? Garden Village is great, just because it wasnt the right holiday for you it does not mean it is a terrible place. Just look at other people messages and question the fact why your holiday was so bad and everyone elses was brilliant? I believe through doing this you will enable yourself to find the right holiday for your family.
With reference to your earlier comment, you are only 17, still a child-what do you know. I have no problems with anyone - and just for the record, we will not be going back again. Lucky you that your experience of Garden villiage was more enjoyable than ours. Regardless of what anyone says, this is my opinion and I will voice is accordingly.
WE HAVE BEEN TO KALAMAKI 9 TIMES THIS YEAR WILL BE OUR 10TH.
I just want to say how fantastic Garden village is. Lisa if you didn't like it, then maybe it is you and your family that have a problem rather than Carol or any of the people who work at Garden Village. I am 17 and visited Garden Village in 2004 I gave up a holiday this year with my friends to return to Kalamki just because it is so super! Whilst we were at Garden Village there was a really great atmosphere between all the families staying there, and I made many friends who i have kept in contact with. Althought all the families we met had a great time, there was one family who was unsociable and miserable. Maybe if your family are a bit like this then you would be best not to visit Garden village as its definitely a place for families that want to have a brilliant holiday, laugh and have fun!
it seems every message on the internet of those who have visited garden villiage happen to be related in some way or the other to the owners or have at least become really good friends. That speaks for itself!!!!?????
Hi ya, i have been theo the garden village apartment twise and loved it both times, the place is excellent and carol and family are lovely. we are from devon and my brother is currently going to skool with carols niece.
cant wait to got back
Will never go back again - do not even reply to letters of complaint. Diana needs to go!! Enough said
Both my husband and daughter went to garden villiage apartments in 2003 and was disgusted with the service we got from their receptionist at the time - Diana. She was rude, took an instant dislike to anyone with children and always seemed to tag on to the single girls. The so called B-B-Q was appalling. We were stuck at the side of the dark area of the pool with a small child - really unsafe and my daughter was not even given a cold drink- even though we paid in advance for everything. When I got back to UK, wrote a letter to Carol and was not even given the decency of a reply. KALAMAKI BRILLIANT - Garden Villiage - not so brilliant. Such a shame.
Hi if you could get me her email address that would be great. I have actually booked the holiday etc but still wanted to contact her before we got out there. If you could forward it to my email Katepalombo@aol.com that would be great - many thanks for your help!!
Hi Kate i can get you caroles e-mail if you still havent got it
Hi in relation to the Garden village appartments in Kalamaki, the owner is actually my second cousin. does anyone know of the website address for the apartments. i am currently trying to get hold of her (phoning Zakynthos has proved a bit difficult!!!) to get the details but if anyone has them to hand please forward them. thank you!!!
Can anyone tell me the email address for Garden Village - we went there last year and want to go back this year to get married, but I have lost the address which Carol gave me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The travel agents you need to book Garden Village with are First Choice.I hope this helps.
Which travel agents act for the Garden Village Apartments(used to be Thomsons)or can they be booked direct
could i book the garden village appartment direct?i have 2 children aged 10 and 4.the appartments would be also for my husband and i.
fantastic holiday cant wait to go back would reccomend to anyone all ages!!!!
I am 15 and garden village apartments were brilliant! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. it is in a very good location about 5minutes away from the main strip of resturants and bars. The apartments were very clean an inviting. the beach is about 15-20 minutes walk away from the apartments very nice beach. I would recomend going on a pedolow to see the turtiles. This is a very nice place for any age and i will be going back!
We have just arrived back from the Garden Village Apts and are already looking into rebooking it again for next year. The apartments are spotless and and the owner Carol and the staff cannot do enough to make your stay memorable. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and the food at the pool bar is good.
The kids actually said this was one of the best holidays they had ever had - that must be a recommendation itself !!!
Just arrived back from 7 nights at the Garden Village Apts. Really enjoyed my stay here. Apartments are spotless and spacious. Carol and here staff bend over backwards to make your stay special. The pool is excellent. There are plenty of beds (no need to get up at the crack of dawn to put your towel down!). The food is good at the pool bar. The location is great. What more can I say? We'll see you again next year!
The Garden Village apartments are about 100 metres or so from the taxi rank almost opposite Sophias supermarket and pool bar on the Laganas Road.
Can anyone please tell me exactly where the garden village apts are !
Are they anywhere near the taxi rank in kalamaki.
I stayed here last year with my family. We all really liked it the studios were spotless from the moment we entered to the moment we left as they were cleaned every single day. All staff and owners were great nothing was too much trouble for them they really made an effort to make you feel welcome. The BBQ they hold on a friday night is very good too!!
I would definately come back here and would recommend the garden village to anyone.
Em.xxx.
We Have been to kalamaki 8 times and we have never been to anywhere better.
We have already booked for next year at garden village.
The service is first class everybody is friendly and helpful.
The Pool is great and Pool Bar serves good food all day.
I would reccomend this too couples or families will suit everyone.
Had a lovely holiday at these apartments, cannot wait to return next year. Carol, Nickos, Tassos and Diana cannot be more welcoming, they made our stay superb.
See you again soon,
Steve
i have booked a holiday at the garden village from the 3rd of august 2004, if anybody else is going who have children i would love to hear from you as my two [girl 12 & boy 10] are not very forward in making friends.
Hi I'm Katy, I'm 15 and I went on holiday for 2 weeks to the garden village apartments in July 2001 (at the same time as Chris) and had a brill time. My sister and I were bridesmaids at our cousins wedding - and what a lovely place to get married!
Everybody at the garden village apartments is very friendly and there is a lovely pool and lots of relaxing sunbeds. The food served at the poolside bar is lovely too, and the Greek restaurants close by are great, (We especially liked Mikalo's!)and the beach is in easy walking distance.
I would recommend the Garden Village Apartments to everyone who wants a fantastic holiday!
My thanks to all at the Garden Village for all you do to make your guests feel welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend the Garden Village. From the moment you step off the coach you know you have made the right choice. Carol the owner (whose husband is rather too handsome for his own good), Diana, Tassos and Justin get it just right. Apartments are spotless, pool is great, bar food is delicious especially the grilled lemon chicken salad. Gardens are kept immaculate. I suspect they spike your drinks at the Friday night BBQ.
Please help - I require information on the best way to book accommodation direct, which would be suitable for a couple aged 25.
Thanks
Hi I'm Chris. I am 13 years old and I went to the Garden Village Apartment in July 2001 for my Dad and My Stepmums wedding and i had a FABULOUS time.
I would reakomend to anyone who was looking for a Honeymoon, wedding or just a quiet holiday. Everyone is so kind and the Apartments and everything is just exquiset. The Swimming pool is lovely and they have at least 20 sun beds and the pool side bar is superb.
So if you go you will want to go over and over again.
Your's Chris.
We stayed here June 2001, had a fabulous time, everyone was extremely friendly, very much a family enviroment.
The appartments were cleverly seperated, big appartments (with the families) were around the pool and the small studio apartments (without the kids) were around the garden.
Most people staying here had been at these appartments before and were returning year after year. We would definitely go back.
Have just arrived back from The Garden Village on 1st September and had a very good holiday. The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The apartments must rate as some of the best on the island and are well situated for all the local amenities. They are only 10 minutes from the airport but there is no problem with aircraft noise.I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.
Fantastic place to take the family on holiday. The quality of these apartments is second to none. We could not believe the number of people that come back year after year. Carol and Nickos could not be more helpful and all the staff were friendly. We made many freinds and hope to return again in the future.
For those who have booked you may find the following URL of some help as it is the home page for the Garden Village with contact details included. Have a great time . . . this is the best apartment complex on Zante! http://vzone.virgin.net/gordon.o'brien/gv/index.htm
The Garden Village is a wonderful holiday village. Carole and Nickos are so welcoming and can't do enough to ensure you have a perfect holiday. These are without doubt the best apartments we have ever stayed at in Greece and will be returning to savour their delights again soon.
We have booked our honeymoon for next year and found the web site for th apartments very useful. http://freespace.virgin.net/gordon.o'brien/gv/ Hope this helps
have you got a photo of the appartments
Stayed for a week last year - best place we've stayed in in Greece - Liked it so much we're going back in May!
Stayed for 2 weeks last july.Got married whilst there, Carol & co made everything absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to go back for 1st anniversary this year!
If you have booked your holiday here you have made a great choice, everyone is so friendly & helpfull, the appartments are spotless & the gardens beautiful. Yota & Pete the bar staff work hard but always find the time for a laugh & a joke. Carol & Nickos (the owners)have many gold awards & should be very proud of what they have acheived here. We will return.
