Palm Tree Bar

We had a great time  in Alykes this year. Met some really nice people in Pool Bar. Staff very friendly and free with the shots!! The place has been refurbished since last year and is looking good! Glad to say the staff havent changed! Very lively,  and welcoming.

I have got to tell you about this place, in the day you are on your sun lounger by the sea, at lunch time you have coronation chicken panni with a latte, to die for.  At night go there it turns into the Palm Tree 2, you book a table in the daytime, you sit by the sea with candles on the table.  we have a restaurant near us at home called the fountain its the type of place you go for special occasions the food is excellant, WELL, we felt like we were at the fountain every night at the Palm Tree 2, the minted lamb chops with yoghurt sauce was amazing, lovely vegs, cauliflour cheese.  Honest you have to go here, once youve been you wont go anywhere else. Lyndsey and John run it, and they are such good hosts,  we went in Sept 2005, I was not keen on Zante, but I would go back just for the food here, and so cheap. Try it.

Always liked it here whenever we spent the day at alykes beach.The food is excellent and service too.The beachside location means you dont have to travel far from your sunbed and the views are really nice whilst you relax with a large mythos.Will always go back. 

 great place even if you're on your own.  Sakis, Lisa, Dianne & Spikey make you feel very welcome.  Spent every night there over the fortnight and enjoyed every one!  Anyone visiting Alykes should pay it a visit - you'll have a laugh a minute.  I'll be going back!!

We have recently returned (28th Aug) from an excellent holiday in Alykes, Zakynthos. We spent many a day on the beach, and visited many of the beach tavernas, but by far one of the best had to be the Palm Tree. During our two week stay, we had many lunches at the Palm Tree, mostly of the salad variety, and by far the best has to be the Chicken Ceasar Salad. We would just like to say many thanks to the Staff of the Palm Tree, nothing was to much for them, and they often chatted ensuring we were having a great time.

We have just returned from Alykes (14 Aug 05) and said that we would give our views on some of the places we visited so here goes. We ate lunch at the Palm Tree II snack bare which is right on the beach and has brilliant views. We did try another place one lunchtime when we were on the beach but went back to the Palm Tree II. A choice of excellent snacks inclluding toasties etc. but the main plusses that we found superb were as follows:

If you like the beach and also like good lunches then this is the place.

hi dianamou!! cant w8 2 c ya in aug, this is the best bar in alykes, love you all, and hear spike is back this year so it will be shots all nite!! regulars will know me for dancing on bar and generally making a fool of myself! ha!

thorougly enjoyed each and every breakfast, brunch, lunch and evening meal that we had - pete says the breakfasts are the best in alikes - complete with burnt toast!!

superp!hospitality and atmosphere,you guys behind the bar put my faith back into how pubs should be run!!!!it is such a pitty that you are too far away to be my local........and you make a mean cheeky monkey as well,no swizell stick for me by the way!have a good one Diane!and send my regards to Kirsty,all the best for 2005 Derek from Cambusbarron.

It was excellent Diane Who works there is very friendly and me and my family went in there every night while we were there. If you decide to go there you have to try Diane's famous cocktail Oscar Five Star cos its lush!!!

Hosts Lisa & Sakis are very hospitable and friendly. At lunchtime the Palm Tree 2 homemade beefburgers beckon along with all the other excellent snacks and lunchtime specials.The mottled shade overlooking the best part of Alykes beach is just perfect for that relaxing "heat of the day" time. After 5pm Palm Tree 1 offers a wonderful selection of cocktails, drinks and fun things to do. Watch out for Sakis with his own pool cue! This is a must place to visit don't visit Alykes without visiting the Palm Tree. Well kitted-out rooms to let also available at very reasonable prices.

been here for the last seven years,never go anywhere else,for breakfast &lunch.fantastic and friendly people,its just like going home.sakis and lisa are top people,billy and regina are great kids,be their again this tear,10 july.

Palm Tree II is an excellent place to have some great food, chill out and relax. There are seats under cover if you want to get out of the sun or you an sit in the garden with a beer and take up some rays. Lisa and Sakis are great, so are the kids, miss you all and see you in July.

I have been 3 times with my wife to Alykes and the Palm Tree is a great place for a very good B-52 made by the gorgeous Diane.Am returning this first time since 2000 on my own but knowing the place and the people I know it will be a good time

Paradise.....lots of little tikes toys for little tots to tumble through, on safe grass area, whilst parents look on.....glass in hand.Lots of horses clip clopping by outside for little ones to oooh and aaaah at. Obligatory greek cat to chase, and our evening was complete.

Been to Palm tree bar for almost 4 years on the trot.Saki and Lisa are top people,helped of course by the queen of peroxide,Diane!Top atmosphere and open air garden means you can get rid of the kids for a while and get on with some serious supping.After continual harrasment,from me, Saki stocked "smirnoff ice",and has never looked back!visiting Alykes? visit the Palm Tree.

Good garden for the kids to play in and very easy to keep an eye on them. They have regular quiz nights and other things on, the kids get free orange/blackcurrent squash drinks(nice touch) run by friendly people with good attitude towards kids, well done
