Iris Bar

another year and another visit to the iris bar.  thanks tina, nikos. yiorgos, vretti and chris as always for making us welcome. 

just returned from another amazing week in sunny alykes and had a great week again at the iris - just had to mention they now have a quiz nite every wednesday night so make sure you go it shouldnt be missed.

For anyone visiting Alykes for the first time you must search out this bar.  It's on the Katastari Road about 200m up from the main cross roads in Alykes and serves the best cocktails, cold beers, milkshakes etc.  It's also home of the best mini golf.  Tina, Chris and the rest of the gang are there to entertain and keep the drinks flowing.  Suitable for families, couples, lone travellers and well anyone really - you're always welcome at the Iris!!

Playing all kinds of music to suit all tastes and showing Sports on the giant screen and TV's it's got something to suit EVERYONE!

Once you've visited its guaranteed you'll go back, great drinks at great prices and most of all great people thats the customer aswell as the staff, so make sure you pay them a visit.

Hello everyone!!! It rained a bit yesterday and i thought it was going to rain today, but its realy hot!!!!!!!!!!  anyway.... i hope i go swimming tomoz!!! i didnt know anything about this site until i typed " iris bar " in google and found this!! LOL anyway gotta go now... going to have a milkshake in the bar  <3  

does the iris bar have any accomodation connected with it

well what can i say about the iris,words cant describe this bar but great beer,wine,cocktails absolutely superb.nikos,tina and chris=3 of the best people ive ever metthank god i discovered the place 4 hours after stepping off the planejust a shame i won 2nd prize on the quiz night and couldnt take advantage of the free golf as our flight was that nightback next year and chris you have been warned the bratz are coming with me

well what can i say we have returned from another 2 wks of drinking and fun at this brilliant place.

we met some really great people whilst we were there and anyone who was around on the 21st july would have heard or seen us in our pink iris bar t-shirts on the trainaki making alot of noise on the way there and alot more noise on the way back waving at everything even chickens 

the sunday night quizz was a laugh especially when one lady decided quite loudly that she was going to phone a friend because she never knew the answer to one of the questions which was quite funny

we love the iris bar!!  so sorry we never made it through to say 'goodbye'.   we were on our way to see you last wed night but never quite got there. thank you very very much for making us all feel so welcome.  .........tina, thank you very much for your help when you took me to the pharmacy to see sula about ila's cut foot, especially when your car was so low on petrol. much appreciated. you are one of the kindest people i've met and have a heart of gold.   ila had her stitches out her foot this morning and all is fine. she was a brave little star. thanx also for letting us celebrate ila's birthday party at the mini golf.  she had a fantastic day and has told everyone she's met about how great it was. between the golf,gorgeous birthday cake and chris's fruit cocktails, she's never going to forget her special 5th birthday in zante!  we hope to return one day to visit you.  until then, we wish you and yours all the very best for the future.  give our love to all.

another visit to alykes and another week spent in the iris bar.  everytime i visit i don't believe that they can get any better but each time they prove me wrong.  a huge thank you to tina, nikos, chris & akis for their hospitality and friendship and for introducing me to the best bunch of people i've ever met and who have become strong friends now i'm home.  there are too many names to mention but you all know who you are!!

if you don't take my word for it all you need to do is read the many comments to see how much this bar is loved by all those who visit it.  no matter how much i go on words can never express the love i have for this bar and the people involved in the running of it.  it holds a special place in my heart and no matter where i've been i've never visited anywhere like it.  not long now guys before you can have a much deserved rest.  missing you all more than ever and more than you know.  with love and hugs as always panagiota (aka yoda or yoghurt) xxxx see you all next year xxxxxx

me and my gf spent nearly every night of our two weeks at the iris bar. The Bar is run my tina( who's english ) and nikos (whos a local greek). They are absolutely brilliant people, everytime you go there they welcome you and its awesome. Two really cool barmen work behind the bar. Chris and little aki who are just brilliant. Miss them all already and everyone who reads these comments must realise how awesome the iris is. Also theres minigolf for the kids. lol

I LOVE the Iris bar!!!  Thank you so much to Chris and Akis who Roy and I enjoyed spending the late hours chatting to and drinking with!  It was really great to meet you guys.  I really hope you will take us up on our offer and come and stay with us or at least look us up when you get here.  Thank you so much to Nikos for putting up with us and tidying the bar up when Chris and Akis were too drunk to do so!    I hope you are all well and enjoying the very last of the season.  Take care and I hope to see you soon.  Fi and Roy    xxx

What a great bar.  Very friendly chaps behind bar serving great cocktails - tried quite a few!  This place was just right - lively enough but not too much.  Definitely want to visit Alykes again so will be going back for another couple of cocktails!

This is the BEST bar you could ever wish to visit.  It gets better every year.  Tina Nikos & Chris are the greatest hosts keeping you entertained all night with their dancing, singing and uplifting personalities.  I spent every night here for 2 weeks in July and every night was spent laughing along with everyone.

Cocktails are fantastic here especially Tina's White Russian and Chris's Banana Daquiri & Greek Style Pimms!! but my favourite's the extra cold Mythos (with a straw)

We've just got back today from 2 weeks in Alykes. We discovered the Iris Bar about halfway through the holiday and then went there every night after. Chris, Tina and Nico were great hosts. We enjoyed 'early doors' with Chris - the cocktail happy hour - and I won the mini golf! The only complaint was that Tottenham failed to win on both the occasions that we watched them at the Iris. Chris let the kids get behind the bar to help make their fruit cocktails - we all had a great time!

this was our 9th visit to alykes and the iris bar - and it is still as good as ever the journey from cardiff to zante is almost a religious experience now - a bit of a pilgrimage!

it was my 40th brthday when i was there and tina, nikos and chris threw a party  on the saturday night and oh what a night it was!!! cocktails, cakes and plenty of dirty dancing (you know who you are!! ).

we stayed in tinas apartments which are approx 30 steps away from the iris bar (depending on how many 'sex with the boss' cocktails you have drunk!!

the golf course is definatley worth a try and is great fun

it was an amaznig week and it gets harder to leave everytime!   thank you for your hospitality, friendship and making my 40th birthday extra special.

Great Bar

I vistited back in Late September and discovered this amazing bar one evening half way throught the holiday.It has the best atmosphere and gives you the best service in the whole area.You are made to feel welcome by everyone there and is a great place to chill out any time of the day.  Thanks to all for some great memories!

Def the best bar in Alykes if not all of Zante.Tina Nico Akis and Chris are great.Chris is a good laugh and a great sport,actually I think he may be "crazy man".Cant wait to get back next year.

 Why can't we have an Iris Bar in England??!!  The Best bar in the world.

I didnt think they could improve this bar until they stuck a mini golf course out the back - the best ive ever played on.  Tina, Nikos, Chris and Akis all deserve a huge pat on the back for what they've achieved over the Winter - its amazing - WELL DONE.

No matter what you want the Iris Bar has it,  Tina and Nikos are great hosts whilst Chris and Akis shake cocktails all night and dish out the shots.  If its not ice juggling, beer mat fights or dancing - theyre serenading you by candle light on those dark nights!!  There's sports showing on the screens throughtout so sports fans will be kept happy.

Fantastic bar brilliantly situated if you have to walk to your accommodation just out of town.  Very pleasant staff and probably the most dangerous and well presented cocktails on the planet which I have Chris to thank for.  We were made to feel very welcome here.  Thanks to everybody at Iris Bar.

Had a great time at the Iris bar. Good cocktails, great big big big screen in the front garden, staff really good and very friendly and the putting greens are good fun. Well worth a visit.

Had a great time in August 05 and hope to be returning again this summer.  The cocktails and the company were fab.

  Top Bar - didnt spend as much time here as i should have but what a great place.  Great cocktails from Chris (makes a very powerful Long Island Tea)  Fantastic place for all ages to visit.  Would recommend to anyone visiting Alykes.  A must.  And will spend more time there next time.

I think the iris bar is the best bar in alykes the bar staff are sorted even chris (thnx for makin me do cha cha slide)  we went to the bar every night for the whole week  and every night we had a good time the drinks were ace the music was brill and i will see them next year.

Hi Tina Nikos and Chris, had fantastic time as usual in Alykes and had some great nights in the Iris Bar meeting up with old friends. Just to let you know got home in one piece and been to docs, nothing broken but badly bruised and has given me next week off work! Thanks for being so sweet on Tuesday night when I was feeling rotten. Love you all and will see you next year (I will be mostly wearing very flat shoes!)

You have not holidayed in Alykes unless you have been to the Iris Bar.  You will not receive a warmer welcome than from Tina, Nikos, Chris and Akis.  My husband and I have just returned from our second holiday in Alykes and every night on both holidays was spent at the Iris Bar, no other compares.

It is the best bar ive ever been in. I totally reccomend anyone to go there. I loved it and I would love to go back again. I really enjoyed seeing the VERY sexy Akis in there every night he was very nice and friendly too. Also the rest of the staff were very kind and friendly people and Chris would never mind getting up and having a dance with the kids.

    Quite simply one of the reasons we come back to Alykes every year is the Iris Bar, our nights out would not be complete without finishing up to see Tina and Nikos, can't wait for September!

what are the prices for tina+nikos apartments

  My husband & I first came to Alykes in June 2000. we had out first drink in the Iris bar and ended up there every night for the next two weeks! In fact we loved it so much we went back in the September and stayed  in Tina & Nikos apartments. Loved that so much we have been back every September since!!

Tina & Nicos made us feel very welcome had a great time in the bar and made a few new freinds with tina and family,being the first time in alkyes they made you feel at home great place to vist.

Great bar. Tina Chris and Akis were really friendly. Only bar the played and good music. Really enjoyed!

My and my wife have been to this bar most nights it is a great bar they have a quiz night once a week and good music other nights,the bar staff are really nice and if any body tries this bar it doesn't take long to become friends..

It was definetly the best bar in Alykes. We met great people in there (Ben n Kerry!), and Tina, Nikos n Chris were fab, they made us so welcome. Will definetly be back.

we were extremly pleased with this bar as it had Archers and Reefs which pleased one member of our party as we didn't spot them anywhere else the music was pretty good and the staff were very friendly and good for a laugh

without doubt number 1 bar on the whole island! nothing is too much trouble, warm friendly atmosphere. Fantastic hosts Tina and Nikos vrede and yoyo, best bar staff in town sakis and chris excellent customer service also with a wealth of knowledge regarding the island theyll always point you in the right direction quiz night is a must excellent prizes big screen sports action. you can relax and enjoy a drink while your kids are taken care of by yoyo and vrede weather its a game of swingball one of the numerous board games or an adventure with yoyo in his treehouse. excellent family venue! once visited you will be back for more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We returned from Zante on 22 August. This was our third visit this year. Tina, Nico, Zakis and Chris are great hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (again). Can recommend the Martineau Apartments (owned by Tina & Nico)spotlessly clean. Good luck to Zakis and Anna on their future marriage in September. Hope all goes well. See you again soon.

We really enjoyed the quiz night on thursdays and the atmosphere was great even though we got the booby prize!

Twice this year we visited Alikes. Early May we stayed at the Potamitis - but drank at the Iris Bar. Early June we stayed at Tina's apartments and drank (again) at the Iris Bar. Great hospitality, great fun. Tina and the "boys" were great. Will definitely return again.

Fourth time to Alykes and we've been welcomed, looked after, entertained, and made special everytime by Tina, Nikos and Sakis. Great hardworking friendly people. It's always busy and poplular yet they always have time to spend with you. Can't wait to go back.

i have been using the iris bar for the last 8 years
all the staff work flat out it is a really busy bar

Went in for a drink and sat there for 10 mins then realised we had to go to the bar to order. couldn't get served only two behind he bar so went to the Lofos bar accross the road, which was handy as it was happy hour 10pm to 11pm 50 cents a shot. Great drinks and friendly people.

Great place, Great staff, Great times had by all. Well done and Thanks for a lovely time. Tina, Nikos, Sakis and Chris all very friendly and humerous. See you all again in June, August and October. x

Just returned from 2 weeks in Alykes and we found this bar soooooo friendly. There is a happy hour from 4pm - 7pm, very useful for weekend footie on the big screen and there are two other screens around the bar. Tina is a great host and this place is well worth a visit. Robin Hood says so.

This is the best bar to visit in Alikes. Tina, Nikos and Sakis you are great. We went in as guests and left as friends. The quiz is fun and worth doing, especially to win an Iris Bar T shirt. If you want a place for a drink then look no further the Iris bar is the place. Paula
