the food was superb, the service by Greek standards was quick and nothing was too much trouble. Everything on the menu was available in childrens portions and the Lamb Kleftico was the best I ever had.

We were very disappointed with Dionysos this year, last year we went three times and we rated it our favourite place to eat in both Alykes and Alikanas, this year it was a different story the service was poor and the food was terrible. I ordered saganaki and when it came I couldn't get my knife or fork into it and sent it back, my friend ordered a medium steak which was really well done and she had trouble cutting it, my fiorentina pizza was drowned in salty sliced olives which made it impossible to eat and the egg was raw, the lemon chicken hadn't seem a lemon and came in a brandy/creamy sauce. Sakis did give us a voucher for 20€ off our next visit but we didn't risk being disappointed again.

BEST RESTAURANT BY FAR.fantastic lamb dionisos superb beef stifado.children are looked after very well at this place....better than anywhere else.they have a very large kids menu and as the friendly manager says anything else from the menu can be served in a kids portion. see you again soon sakis keep up the good work

comments about rats if they are real....it is not fair for this fantastic family run restaurant who has become no1 of alykanas in 6 years!!!you should ignore them cause they are propaganda....we eat there 6 years most of our holiday evenings,never had a bad meal.

Dionisos was by far the best restaurant we visited! The food was fantastic, the prices reasonable and the staff made us feel more than welcome! As for the mention of rats in the restaurant, this is completely ridiculous!!! The owners and staff at Dionisos clearly take great pride in their restaurant! Please dont let these comments put you off visiting Dionisos as you will really be missing out!

only went here once this year, usually 2-3 times, but more choice now than prev years for restaurants. I find the service charge of 1 Euro per person a bit annoying, especially as last year there was no service charge at all. Even an 8 and 4 year old get charged 1 Euro where most places only charge for adults and only 60-75 cents. As for the meals, well my Stifado was ok but my wife's was a bit fatty. Never seen a rat there though!!!!!

Re: Rat comment below. We saw quite a few rats back in June (although not at this restaurant) and even more squashed ones on the road as we drove around the island. It doesn't seem fair to blame any individual, but the council should get it sorted out quick. Must disagree, however, about the food as we rated it one of the best restaurants we visited.
PS. don't make the mistake I did and assume everything big and black is a rat. I saw something big crawling about on the beach at night and I was terrified. Only turned out to be a hedgehog!!!!!!

we went there in july 2003 with an english family we met in the alykanas beach village.it was recommended not only for the food but also because it has a kiddies play area next to the restaurant seating.having ordered our drinks we saw large rats within 3 feet of where the kids were playing and next to our table. we left immediately.we had eaten there the previous week at the ront of the restaurant and the food was sub standard.i'd say even their dustbins have ulcers.

Highly recommend this restaurant.The staff were so friendly and the food was very tasty especially the kleftiko and briam.Ideal for taking children to as the little play area keeps them entertained.If you are adults only you can sit at the front of the restaurant away from the play area so you are not disturbed by the ankle biters!!!

This place was Very good, we ate here twice during our stay and found the food and service excellent on both occasions, the waiters are all very friendly(and most very good looking) your not rushed and we didnt have to wait too long. Highly recommended.

we ate here two nights and the food was very good i had stuffed chicken with cheese and ham in a mushroom sauce which was lovely and the pizzas were also very nice so my daughter tells me the service was very good if not very fast but then we were,nt in any hurry the price was quite reasonable as well

My family and friends have eaten here practically everyother night while on holiday.We find the service excellent but takes a while to get your meal but hey everything takes a long time in Greece.On our first visit to this resort while staying at the excellent Mouzakis apartments my husband ordered a particular dish from the menu,on holiday the next year the waiters not only recognised us but also remembered the dish off the menu my husband liked and in what sauce he liked it in even though it was no longer on the menu.The children are well catered for here as they can have smaller portions of the adult menu but not the adult price.We love it and look forward to seeing Denis on our return in July.

Visited July 2001 in a party of 10 ,excellent service, we found this resturant the friendliest by far in Alykanas.11 of us are returning again in July 2003 and are wondering if Ben still works at the resturant.We look foward to the wonderful service and food again.

The Moussaka was the best we had on the island.

I was staying at the Alikanas Beach apartments and was able to get a horse and carriage to the restaurant free of charge!As soon as we got there the waiters gave us the best service they could throughout our stay!The food ther was lovely and there was a wide range to choose from.There was also a kids area so they didn't get bored waiting for their food.There was also a really fit and sexy waiter there who was with us all the time and he also worked where i was stayin!!If theres n e jobs going let me no coz i wanna come back and work there.Thanx kelly x x x x x

I have just returned from Alykanas where I had a brilliant time. I would say this had to be the best place to eat in the whole village. Not only was the food excellent,and the price,but they had a sexy little waiter working there called Taso, who gave us his undivided attention all night! Shame I was with my boyfriend is all I can say!!

I was sorry to read that the previous two people didn't enjoy their visit to this restaurant. We ate here a number of times and the staff were extremely friendly. The food was superb! We also thought the service was very good. I admit, things do seem to take alot longer in Greece, but hey, we're on holiday and in no rush....!!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

This was the first restaurant we tried on our holiday. Although the food was excellent, the level of service provided put a 'downer' on the evening. It took just over two hours to have a two course meal and what was frustrating was people being seated after us and being served 10 minutes before us! We waited endlessley for our bill while others around us received theirs minutes after they had asked. Maybe we just picked a bad night but we never returned to this restaurant during our holiday!

Ate here once and due to the very poor service, over 2.5 hrs for a meal,and the insincere and abusive attitude of the staff would not dream of going back. The food was good but that is all than can be said as the staff certainly did not encourage you to return especially if you complain about anything the attitude being you are only a tourist take or leave it.

I had my birthday dinner at this restaurant, and birthday cake, which had been ordered by a friend. This was a great place to eat, fine food, friendly waiters, and very good prices. Would receommend this place to everyone.

This was the first one we ate in and we got there by horse and carriage.The food was good but you do get bread which you have to pay for even though you didn't order it ,one euro each person,but worth it.

Dionysos was definitely my favourite restaurant, not just because of the little sexy waiter! I think his name was Dossos, but the food was great too I ate there quite a few times during the holiday. The chicken souvlaki was my favourite. All the waiters are really friendly and speak good english, I give it 10/10!

THIS WAS THE BEST RESTUARANT IN THE TOWN. CHICKEN SCARLETT WAS LOVELY.HAD SEVERAL DIFFERENT MEALS AND THAY WERE ALL EXCELLANT. THEY ARRANGED A BIRTHDAY CAKE FOR US WHILE WE WERE THERE TOO. NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE AND THE STAFF TREATED YOU LIKE OLD FRIENDS EVERY TIME.COMPLIMENTARY DRINKS ON MANY OCCASSIONS.

This is a must place to go if you are staying in Zante. The food is fabulous and the service is the superb! I reccomend the Beef Stifado, never tasted one like it before.Devine! Great if you have kids too, nothing is too much trouble for this lovely family.

Never had a bad meal here. The stuffed peppers are just divine.. the waiters recognise you every time and make you so welcome. My 10 year old daughter just loved the baked spaghetti and they will do anything on the menu in a child sized portion..although the child size portion is only marginally smaller than the norm. However you will only be charged for a child's portion so it was very good value. Staying at the Beach Village meant we could travel by horse and carriage there for free.. they take you there from outside the apartment. In fact many restaurants are now doing this. The kids love the play area which has Little Tikes outdoor toys and also the tank which has a couple of little terrapins.. keeps them amused whilst waiting for your order (which arrives in no time despite the popularity of the restaurant..it is always packed!)

Have just returned from 2 weeks in Alykanas. We ate at this restaurant about 4 times and had a take away pizza on our first night due to a sleepy 3 year old. Every meal was fantastic. Sakis and his staff were excellent. The portions are great and everything we had was cooked to perfection. The Mixed Souvlaki (skewered kebabs) were simply beautiful. The lamb kleftiko was the best thing I ate over the 2 weeks. Superb. Play area for kids was great too and you can see them playing from your table if you wish. Quieter areas also available away from the play area. Gets very busy. Popular.

NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER!! TRY THE STUFFED CHICKEN ITS GREAT!! BUT ITS NOT ON THE MENU!! YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT!! KIDS MEALS ARE LIKE ADULT PORTIONS AND THERE'S A PLAY AREA FOR THEM TO KEEP THEM ENTERTAINED UNTIL THEIR MEAL IS READY!

We loved Dionysos, we only ate there once but it was fabulous value for money. apparently the owners mother does all the cooking!The waiters spoke really good English and were able to explain all the meals to us.

we ate in this restaurant several times and had excellant food every time-all their traditional dishes are delicious.For us with 2 kids in tow(20months and 6years the sandy little tikes playground was a godsend-full marks dionisos!!!

Fantastic food and service!! I can definitely reccommend a visit to this restaurant, the food was superb, typical greek cusine,try the local dish of Stifado! The staff are extremly pleasant and helpful, the prices are also very reasonable. There is a children's play area which is very safe. I give this restaurant 10 out of 10!! Everything about this restaurant is great! Soula is a fantastic cook, all the waiters are friendly. Dionysos always has a fantastic atmopshere.. but i'd go early because it does get busy!!

I've been visiting Alykanas for over 10 years, the last 4years I've had my daughter. The meals i've had at Dionysos have been superb. The food available for children and also the friendly staff make the whole experience much more pleasurable.

You must visit this fantastic restaurant, the food is absolutly amazing and the service is of the best standard! It is THE BEST restaurant in the village by far!
