Two Brothers Studios

My boyfriend and I went to stay at the Two Brothers Apartments in June 2002. I have never been so worried about going on holiday thanks to the negative comments on this website. Yes, the accommodation was basic but it was clean and the staff were really friendly, they even wavered the fee for losing your key twice!! The only problem with the holiday was having to check out of our room at 11am with our flight not until 5am the next day. If you are in the same situation there is nowhere secure to leave luggage so remember an extra 30 euros for to hire the room an extra might. Other than that 2 Brothers is excellent for a cheap holiday on a gorgeous island!

We had a briliant holiday, but the apartment, i don't think so. Do not ask for an inland view, or you'll get the sight of a waste land. you will have to eat out. you get a small fridge freazer, two plug in rings, near the sink, three glasses, two mugs, one kettle, two big plates, two small plates, tin opener, thew knifes and forks. you do not get a new toilet roll everyday, we lived on two and a half in two weeks.Pool bar was brilliant for drinks and food, but do not count on getting a sun bed by the pool unless you get up at 6.00am. We had to go else where, i'm glad we did though, because all other pool bars are open to all tourists. By the way your floor will get cleaned with other peoples left over shampoos and shower gel, what we saw them using was imperial lether shower gel.There were two single beds and a camp bed, don't leave anything under the camp bed, because you'll get rust on your belongings, that crumbles on the floor while you are sleeping, also this camp bed has a wooden plank under your matress, it is not the size of your bed it's smaller. Please, please what ever you do, do not go to two brothers. we walked past all the other hotels and they not even superia, and they were sparkling compared to two brothers. Don't go!. Kalamaki is brilliant other than that. You'll love it.

We have just returned from DA "Bruvvers" and like the previous entries mention were also a bit concerned from the earlier reports....first things first this is Greece and in Greece you expect and get a more basic lifestyle. However, the complex is very clean with the pool area washed and brushed down before people can even be bothered to get out of bed to claim the sunbeds! The studios are also clean and cleaned daily with towels and linen being changed twice a week. We did need to take care leaving the shower as the water didn't drain too well from the shower tray and the marble tiled floor - there's only a short shower curtain. Facilities are more than adequate with sufficient cooking utensils to get by with, but with it being so cheap to eat out we didn't bother. The fridge was more than able to freeze a bottle of water overnight to take to the beach, which takes about 15 minutes or so to reach. Save some space in your cases though - each room comes with a large kettle and 2 cups! The brother's are extremely helpful - we had a minor fittings problem with our apartment which was fixed within 24hrs and prior to getting back from the beach. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay for your hols if you can put up with a clean, helpful, quiet and most of all basic Greek way of life.

We went there in June of this year, very impressed with our room as it was newly refurbished. Staff very friendly and helpful. Maid service every day and they did all our washing up. We went with Olympic and our rep Jo was excellent. Recommend Hermes Car rental, the owner did us a really good deal and before we signed we did check with the other rental companies! The owner even gave me a lift to the next town instead of having to pay for a taxi. Don't bother with Olympics day boat trip unless you like caves and more caves! and love loud greek music!!. The Bounty Bar in Laganas is well worth checking out on a Tuesday night, excellent 70's singer.

HI Everybody. We stayed in the WhiteHouse but we always came across 2 eat for breakfast in the bar every morning! I recommend the 'Light' breakfast, but may be big for some! Say hey 2 Panos and Costas from me (the owners) 'cos they rock! Also speak good english and are very polite.

Thought we should add out little comments about the Two Brother Apartments. We, as others were a bit worried about what to expect, but we are very happy to say that it was a great place to stay, rooms clean, very friendly hosts, and of course the people we met at the Two Brothers made our stay fantastic, we would definately go back to these apartments without hesitation. Do hire a fan - you will need it!! We were also made very welcome at the Vanessa Apartments - go on Sunday and join in the Karaoki - or learn to speak greek by talking to Fortis (the barman), my husband had great fun asking for Ouzo, sprit with ice in greek, but Fortis was very patient. If anyone goes to Kalamki they are guaranteed a great holiday with fab sunshine.

Apart from the wafer thin mattress, camp site cooking facilities and the cracked loo seat, appt neat and tidy. It's cheaper to eat out. BUT BEWARE! There is a villa just down the road used as a base by some locals? They had a lovely habit of racing high performance (F*!?&*G LOUD!!) m/bikes in the eatrly hours of the morning. I called it INSOMNIACS PARADISE !!!

I too like may others on this site was panicing about going here for my holiday and expecting the worst,But it turned out to be a really nice place. Our apartment was clean and had everything we needed, yes it was basic but if you want a 5 star hotel you stay in one? The owners were really helpful even when our toilet got blocked - with the loo roll we weren't suppose to put down it!! The pool and pool bar was nice and they had all the world cup matches on which was good. The location was good, as we were close to the beach and only 5mins away from Laganas in a taxi (About 5 euros. I would recommend the Two Brothers and would go back again!!

I have just come back from the two brothers and have to say that I was very impressed. I was rather concerned before I got there due to the unfavourable reports on this site but for the price I paid I could not have asked for any more. The owners were polite and friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The only complaint I would have is that the other guests were rather loud during the early hours of the morning. (One singing 'Swing Low sweet chariots' springs to mind). All in all I would have no hesitation in returning and thought Zante was a great Island.

Two Brothers Apartments is an excellent place to stay and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Rooms are basic but has all essential requirements i.e. beds,toilet etc ! The Two Brothers who own and run these apartments speak good English and are kind, courteous and make you feel extremely welcome. The rooms were kept clean and towels and bedding were changed regularly. The pool and poolside area is of a good size and again was kept clean at all times. Food is excellent. Can highly recommend the "Big Breakfast" and the "Special Pizza". Also the Brothers make a mean cocktail. The only downside to these apartments is the cockerel that lives nearby and wakes up extremely early ! Hope anybody who reads this enjoys their stay at the Two Brothers as much as I did.

Hmm anyone reading negative comments about this place keep this thought in mind - some people are impossible to please. Like you I read all the comments and wondered what I'd let myself in for. The place was great, the people (two brothers and family) very polite and friendly, and the rooms cleaned daily. And I wouldn't think twice about going back. Like Ms Houlding I had a young child with me and the brothers were fantastic with him. If you want a great time, leave the attitude behind in England

I would like to start off by saying that I went with a party of eight (7 adults, 1 child) and found Two Brothers to be better than we'd even expected - especially given some of the reports we had read on this page prior to going. I think anyone who has complained about Two Brothers, are the sort of people who would just complain for complainings sake, because you really do get what you pay for. We went here on a late (and very cheap) booking, and couldn't have been happier. Okay, so there were no jacuzzi's in the rooms and complimentary champagne, but if you expect that - go to the Hilton! The location was ideal, nice and quiet but close enough to the beach and amenities etc. The apartments appear newly refurbished and are cleaned daily. The pool is a nice size and the grounds are tended to every day by the (two brothers') family. One of the things we loved was that it is family run, and personal to the individuals needs. The brothers were very friendly (excellent with children - as are all greeks!) they spoke good English and served a mean cocktail! I will finish off by saying that we would have no hesitation in going again, so don't be influenced by bad reports!

After reading some of the comments I was not looking forward to staying at the Two Brothers Apartments, but, i was suprised when i got there, it really is not that bad, even though the cooking facilitys are not that brillant, but it is cheap enough to eat out every time so it did not bother us, the room was cleaned everday,& the towels & bedding every Three days, but it did state that in the brochure. We did have the advantage of being to Zante before so we knew what to expect regarding the bathrooms. The owners are very pleasant & spoke English.

Help!! What is this apartment really like. Going in July 2002, and just want to know what it really is like. Especially as I've just paid for it recently! It has really put me off after reading some of these comments!!

ITS REALLY NOT THAT BAD! WE stayed in a studio apt for 2 and were surprised to hear there are so many bad coments about the two brothers aps. we went in August 2001. We found that they were quite basic, 2 hobs, a bowl and glases + cups & cutlery but its GREECE! What do you expect their to be? A dish washer??? Our studio was cleaned every day (they even washed up our mugs!) and we got clean towels every 3 days, sheets were changed once a week. their was only a strange smell on the days the sewage got emptied, twice a week but that was for everywhere in zante! - a sewage truck goes round. the apartments are away from the main road (which is good news because scooters race up and down the main road at 12 midnight) though you can cut through the Vanesa Hotel which is nearby. the pool was clean and average size. Yes the childrens pool was bit unsafe (no steps to it). apartments were average size. Things to be careful - look out in the shower/toilet - floor is very slippy when wet (common thing anywhere)! We bought a mat for about £2 and it did the trick! DONT FORGET TO SWITCH YOUR FRIDGE ON WHEN YOU ARRIVE - IT DOES WORK REALLY!!! Overall its quite cheap, you get what you pay for - dont expect the Ritz but its good value for money. We will go again. PS must go to mermaids greek night, it's next to the Vanesa Hotel. Oh yeah, the Vanesa Hotel have awful Karaoke Nights about twice a week. But they have a late night swim.

After reading what others had written on this web site my boyfriend and i were expecting the worst, but we were actaully quite pleasantly surprised. the apartment was very spacious and nicely decorated. My only complaints were with the bathrooms which smelt absolutly terrible and also it is true about the electricity, i recieved a sharp shock whilst ironing. overall though we were quite pleased with the place. My boyfriend and I have just came back and have to say that we were very dissapointed by our room when we arrived, it was very small and had a number of problems wrong with it. We understood that we wern't the only ones unhappy with the rooms. Hello out there the Welsh couple we met who where also staying in our apartments who had a worse room than we had which is saying something!

The apartment was dirty and disgusting. The maid service consisted of mopping the floor and dirty towels are left on the floor they are only changed twice a week. The facilities for catering are useless, two hot plates the smaller taking 10 mins to boil water for 2 cups of tea. This was also dangerous at the cable pokes through the draining board. Items were stolen from our balcony and if you have a poolside view expect to see the brick wall which is the side of the pool! The owners were arrogant and do not speak english. These apartments were closed down last year due to the poor quality of the accommodation and just opened up again this year with a new name. Altogether a very disappointing holiday.

sorry to hear claire warburton that you are going to the two brothers apartments I hope it is not with olympic holidays because they are the pits I just hope because the building is split into different holiday companies you won't be going with the one I went with and by the way watch the electric's my neighbour got a shock off his bedside lamp as for cooking falicities two rings something you would have in a old shed wired through the kitchen sink sorry to be the bear of doom and gloom.

30th september I'm sorry to disappoint anyone going to the two brothers apartments. I returned on the 26th september after 2 weeks and it as taken me this long to recover to add to the the long list of complaints I imagine. When booking this much awaited holiday informed by olympic holidays did I want a sea view or a pool view as I was going with my brother and his wife it was odds on one of us would get one or the other as it turned out I got the pool side well I think it was but it was on the other side of a wall I could hear splashing so it must of been, my brother the lucky devil got the sea view he would have to climb up onto the roof and a 80ft tower he might just have glimpsed somewhere in the distance oh well you can't have it all back to the accommadation well where do I start we are told that it is basic in greece but when you walk into your room and expect beagle to pop out of somewhere and say got you there didn't I unfortunatly no beagle the reality was in short the toilet area stunk constantley through lack of cleaning, and it doesn't help when you run out of toilet roll and nobody speaks english, but if you show them the empty roll they will give you a 80% used one from another apartment and don't bother asking for a clean towel because all they will do is throw your dirty one over the rail or bush to dry for you all in all the most horrifying holiday of my life.I live in worcestershire and it makes you appreciate what we take for granted ps it did not help when my brother was forever wading in human excurment in his apartment coming up from the shower. Sorry if anyone is unlucky to have booked with the two brothers just keep taking the pills. there is a light at the end of the tunnel its called home sweet home.

The two brothers was nice, the pool was ok but the "Childrens pool" looked a bit unsafe. The people who owned it were friendly, and the cat zee zee was cute, even if he did keep getting into our room.

I've just retured from The Two Brothers hotel Kalamaki 21/06/01 I thought it was good value for money the beach was a good 15 minutes walk but the hire of scooters was very cheap worth thinking about also very easily obtainable the accomodation block my wife and I shared was very clean and visited by the maids everyday

In good situation about 15/20 mins from the beach.Basic but you get everything you need.No maid service though they pop in every couple of days to empty bin!!Beware the cockerel that everyone wanted to kill,you get an early morning wake up call whether you want one or not!!!

Very good location - easy access to restaurants, bars about mile from beach easy to get to Laganas and zante town. Pool small but just go to any others in Kalimaki. Rooms basic but you get what you pay for - not spotless but not disgusting either!

Would like some information please on these apartments, my frriend has booked them on the net and I cannot find where they are or which operator. How bad was the cleanliness etc ??
