Katerina Palace Hotel

We have just got back from 2 weeks @ the Katerina Palace, and loved every minute of it. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Katerina is lovely, as is the other lady who worked on the reception. We will definetly be going back next year.We had a fantastic time and would recommend the hotel to anyone looking to stay in Argassi

Don't think about staying anywhere else. The Katerina palace and studios are fab! Great service and location!!

this was a fab place to stay! you have all you need in argassi. if couples only think to go to laganas FORGET IT, argassi has the 1 thing you know u want! a nightclub. the factory club was amazing. the bar staff were cool. pretty much like the staff in the katerina too. all the staff were very helpful. nothing was too much for them! i would go back tomorrow if i could. im sure any one will love the katerina palace. I DID, and i dont please easily!!!

great hotel, great people, even on the day we left the lady at the hotel gave me a kiss and came outside to wait for the bus! i'd love to come back someday!!!

My friend and I stayed at the Katerina Palace for a week in August. It's definitly one of the best hotel's I've stayed in on a package holiday. It is very clean and the staff are all helpful and friendly. The pool is a good size and very clean also. The only thing I would say is that the air-con could be on for a bit longer. In the main hotel we were not charged for it but in the apartments you have to pay to get the remote contol, at least we had it though which is better than none at all!!

Agrassi is more for family's and couples or those looking for a quieter holiday, there are plenty of good restaurants to eat in , the Picadilly as mentioned by previous people is very good, and you get 10% off if you are staying at the Katerina Palace.

Overall I would recommend the Katerina Palace to anyone.

We returned last week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Katerina Palace. The rooms were clean, the continental breakfast is ok, the location is central, but the best thing is the way the staff welcome you, everyone from the gardener to Katerina herself make you very welcome. Chrysa on reception is a star and has a great sense of humour and the poolside bar staff will always make time for you. The resteraunts around the hotel are excellent the best ones we went to were the Picadilly (down from the hotel)and the Edem which was excellent.

The hotel is very quiet which was just what we were looking for, the only thing that could have been better was for there to be more children, but that's nothing to do with the hotel! There was only one child for our little boy to play with, and although the boy didn't speak english, they still had a great time! Returned home totally chilled out!

Would definetely recommend this hotel and we are looking forward to returning next year.

I already sent my personal thanks per e-mail to the Katerina staff for making me feel so welcome at my second stay as I was already a guest at Katerina's last year.

I can recommend this hotel to anyone for the way staff manage to take each guest's personality into account. That is apart from the well-shaped pool, the nice and fresh food at the bar, the simple, agreeable rooms, the cleanliness of accomodation and surroundings, the friendly staff and so on.

Argassi is a nice place, if you like a holiday spot with an outspoken British touch. I loved the music everywhere, the well kept streets. But it is true it lacks some stunning features and also a bit of Greek authenticity (including the food) - as I know it from the many years I come to the Greek islands for my holidays. What compensates though is its central situation with all modern commodities, frequent public transport and fairly cheap taxis to the capital Zakynthos. All this counts as well.

This is why I came back to Katerina's as the hotel largely makes up for those few shortcomings of Argassi.

PS1 I will remember the Eurocup (semi-)final evenings at the hotel and the Greek enthusiasm for their national team for a long time to come.

My friend and I spent 2 weeks at Katerina Palace, it was a lovely hotel, all the staff were very friendly especially Dennis and Takis, have been back just over a week now and already can't wait to go back!!

Came back yesterday from the Katerina after a very relaxed and chilled holiday. The hotel is the cleanest, quietest and comfortable hotel I have stayed in whilst on a package holiday. I was away with my 2 children ages 12 and 10 and my parents. The breakfast was gorgeous. Yoghurt and peaches, melon, bread, cake, tea, coffee - the lot. Takis the barman was lovely and he also worked at the Piccadily which was the best place we ate at. In fact, didn't have a bad meal throughout our stay. I would add however, that there were no other children around the pool apart from one and the other guests were mainly couples or friends. My children usually meet other kids to play with so they became a little bored and there isn't a lot for them to do around the hotel, apart from a small playarea. The air conditioning isn't worth using and it was so hot we didn't sleep well at all. Argassi itself was mainly tourist tat and not a sign of Greece about it, however overall the hotel was wonderful and the staff very very professional who are intent on making guests have a good holiday. It would take a lot to beat the Katerina.

This holiday for me and Jane was just fantastic!!!
We enjoyed the company of Paul, Peter (the one who also works at Piccadilly Restaurant) and of course Dennis. I am going to try and book a return holiday to there today. Hope to see all you guys again especially as I am really seriously trying to go and live out there. Love to you all Dina. xx Great time had with the Englang Matches.

Just got back on 18th June from our second holiday at Katerina Palace and we've fell in love with the place all over again and we're gutted to be back. Missing Chrysa like mad and Denis and mornings just aren't the same without Takis round the pool bar:(

Just returned after 5th time staying at Katerina loved every minute Dennis was his usual friendly & special self as are every one of the staff Maria who cleans studios is lovely we will be back soon so need I say more!

We have just got back a couple of days ago from Argassi and the Katerina Palace, We stayed in the Hotel... We found the Hotel to be extremeley nice and relaxing the room was very basic but very clean and comfortable... The staff in the Hotel were great, very Friendly very polite and helped a great deal... Dennis reccommended the Target Bar to us for a night out and to see a great view of the island... A courtesey bus picked us up and dropped us off again, the food was gorgeous and very cheap...

We thoroughly enjoyed the resort of Argassi, we ventured to the Oasis Bar every night where our Hosts Ken and Jude were fantastic, the service was brilliant and the atmosphere was brilliant, Friendly english bar to go to we thought it was the best. We got a free bottle of Champagne from them as we were on our honey moon... I would highly recommend the Oasis Bar for a good friendly night out...

Returned from Argassi 2 weeks ago and it was great. Katerina palace was really clean, friendly and relaxing by the pool and our group enjoyed our stay. Perhaps more suited in hotel for couples, however the marjority of people didnt mind our group of six, as we were just happy to relax there. The only complaint was that the pool bar is very cliquey so expect an hour wait if u dont know the owner! Big up to adrian, jo, the reading fan (good luck with the goat), and our rep Rachel!

JUST RETURNED FROM THE KATERINA 2 DAYS AGO,VERY NICE HOTEL RUN BY A WERY PROFFESIONAL TEAM OF PEOPLE.ROOMS ALLTHOUGH BASIC VERY CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED.THE ONLY CAUSE FOR COMPLAINT WAS THE "AIR CONDITIONING",THIS IS UNFORTUNATLY CONTROLLED BY THE MANAGEMENT WHO DECIDE WHAT THE TEMP IS SET AT.THE AIR CON IS AT ITS COOLEST BETWEEN 14.00HRS TO 21.00HRS THEN IT SEEMS TO BE SWITCHED TO A "FAN ONLY" SETTING WHICH AT THIS TIME OF YEAR WAS TOTALLY INADEQUETE.AS A RESULT WE SPENT MANY UNCOMFORTABLE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS.SO,IF A.C IS IMPORTANT TO YOU GO FOR THE APPARTMENTS WHICH HAVE HAD NEW A/C INSTALLED CONTROLLED BY THE OCCUPANT "MUCH BETTER".

Had a great stay for 17 days. The staff are the best, especially Dennis, the ones who kwow him need no further explenation!!

Katerina was an excellent host, Effie and Dennis were a great help on reception. The staff were all very friendly, and pleasant, although many could not speak English, But a Happy 'Kalemera' in the mornings always made them smile, probably because of bad pronounciation. we rally enjoyed everything about the Katerina. The pool and the poolside bar, complete with snacks was brilliant. And why not treat yourself to a very pleasant meal at the adjoining 'Piccadilly' Restaurant.

Best hotel on the island.....I should know.

We stayed in the Katerina Palace apartments (side of hotel) in July 2000 and found them to be in very pleasant settings. The pool was very good with a nice pool bar serving good snacks, and the receptionists tried their very best to be helpful. We were (fortunately) in a 1st floor apartment, but some of the ground floor ones had a view of only a wall, due to being on a slight incline.

The restaurant with the fountain (near the gates at the bottom of the driveway) was very good. See also my comments on 3 Brothers restaurant - the last restaurant on the left hand side on your way out of Argassi.

All in all an excellent resort with plenty to do for couples & families, but gladly does not appeal to the 18-30 lager louts

hiya we have just arrived home from argssi and the katerina ,,i have stayed in so many in greece but this hotel was the cleanest and friendliest ever,on arrival our fridge had defrosted all over the floor but by the next morning walla brand new fridge,and also free remote controlled air conditioning, in greece thats a first haaaa,as we had the holl for my birthday i was looking for a gold necklace ,but as you have to be so carefull, i went and asked dennis the hotel owner, and he sent us to the VIRGINA gold shop,and they are the only ones qualified in diamonds on the whole of zakynthos, we had a fab necklace and 15% dicount thanx to dennis,so thanx dennis nice one,,,we also had a fab cheap night at the target greek nite with greek dancin and flowing wine and food, it was fab, a bus takes you there for free it takes about 5 mins,and the view of argassi is so fab ya gotta go see that,it was only 12 euros each and we drank till 2am, also we had a fab chinese meal quite cheap in the prince of asia on the hill fab meal,and opposite is the best swirly icecream you have ever tasted,yumm i had a few of them haaaaaa,i did think the piccadilly restraunt was a bit average tho,disapointed there,,also the green frog was a bit average sorry,,,oooo ya gotta try the tropicana cocktail bar and restraunt too lovely meal, and the girls in the cocktail bar are great, kat,is a 6ft1 stunner from finland for you men, and she is lovely too,,,also the katerina pool is so lovely i took some pics as well so as soon as i get them back i will post one on here ok,,,so thanx to dennis and his staff we had a truely fab holl, without a doubt i would go back again, maybe in a few years tho as i have been to 3 different resorts on zakynthos and i think we should try somewhere else before we go back,but all in all wot a holiday,,,teresa and jeff swansea south wales,

2nd year back at The Katerina Palace, need I say more, cannot fault it. Clean, lovely pool, good snack bar and the staff are the nicest peaople you could hope to meet. Hope to be going back again.

We have just returned from The Katerina Palace and have nothing but good things to say about it.We stayed in the hotel and the room was basic but very clean.The grounds are well kept and all the staff are extremely helpful.The pool area is great and the pool bar does great snacks and lunches.You are able to hire the fridge in the room for 15 euros per week which may appeal to some and late checkout rooms are 30 euros per day.

EXCELLENT HOTEL, EXCELLENT POOL, ALL STAFF ARE SUPERB INCLUDING CLEANERS AND BARMAN, REP (THOMAS)IS BRILLIANT, A GREAT HOTEL..........C U NEXT YEAR. THANKS ALOT.

We have been there two times - and come back next year! It is an excellent hotel, with really clean rooms. The staff is really helpful and friendly. There is a nice pool with a very good bar. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the breakfast...every day the same... Good location near to the beach, shops and bars.

This is a fabulous place. We stayed in the apartments and were very impressed and we had maid service every day. The pool was great and there were always sunbeds available. The food and drink from the pool bar was excellent and reasonably priced. We would not hesitate to recommend this place !!

I am desperately trying to find a CD which was always being played in the wonderful Blue n Blue restaurant in Argassi. Great food & atmosphere and I did ask the owners what their music was the they showed me some Cafe del Mar CD's, but I didn't get the correct volume (seems there are quite a lot in a series). The Cd I really liked had a track on by SADE. Wonder if anyone out there can contact Blue n Blue to ask for me, & maybe get a reference number so I could order in from somwhere. This is a long shot, but who knows? The power of the internet!! Thank you!!

Just got back on August 9th 2002! What can i say about Katerina Palace? It was great !! Staff our excellent especially blonde lady at reception - she was always laughing at me! Pool was great and cocktails and food very good to. Room was only basic i suppose but WHO CARES?? your on holiday i didnt need a TV!! plus air con was great. Breakfast was nice to Must go to Castaways! (see stuart!), Dolphin supermarket below (say hi to Nikos for me!), the Factory! and also Illision (get the horse) - oh and Target up on the hill argasi!!(amazing taverna!) Nad and Laura

Just got back on 22/7/02. Stayed at the Keterina Palace Studios. Basic but very clean. Good bar and pool area. Make sure you hire a fan if you are in the studios, we didn't and suffered.

JUST GOT BACK FROM TWO WEEKS IN THE KATERINA PALACE STUDIOS. ROOMS ARE BASIC BUT VERY CLEAN. ALL THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE POOL AREA IS EXCELLENT AND THE BAR SERVES ICE COLD BEER AND GOOD FOOD, WHICH IS NICE!

HAD A BRILLIANT TIME AT THE KATERINA PALACE, STAYED IN THE STUDIOS. GO TO THE POOL BAR AND HAVE A DRINK WITH ROSS WHO IS THE FRIENDLY BARMAN THERE!!!!

We stayed in the hotel itself and it was very nice. Always clean and the receptionists were always there to help you. Breakfast was a tad disappointing but other than that definitely recommend it.

Has anyone stayed in the Apartment side. What were they like. Was there air conditioning in rooms?

First went there in 1997, again in 1998, then in 2001 and going again in July. Absolutely brilliant. Effi and Katarina could not be more friendly and the bar around the pool in the evening can get quite lively. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

i made a mistake in my comments about the restaurant next to the katerina hotel i finished by saying "anyone going there would not fail to enjoy it " i meant the katerina hotel not the restaurant.

we first stayed at the katerina hotel in 1995 (july)we were a party of 7 of which one was a baby, my wife and i went back again in may 2000, and on both occasions we had a brilliant time,the restaurants were very good especially the green frog,not only was there good food,great staff but also a good karioke. the only restaurant we would not,repeat not recommend is the the place on the left opposite the entrance to the katerina hotel,anyone going there cannot fail to enjoy it
