They show the Grand Prix in english with Martin Brundell's commentary, which is hard to find on this island so it gets top marks from my brother!
Good big screens available both inside and out - but not much fun if you're not into sport. You can catch the Simpsons now and again though.
A friendly little bar in attractive surroundings, set back from the road. The perfect place if you want a nice quiet drink and conversation, or before eating at the restaurant next door. Newly opened and deserves to do well. Look out for one year old Harvey, the youngest bar owner on the island.
This is the place to come to if you want to escape the main drag and yet still guzzle cocktails til the wee small hours and meet a few people....and if you don't make it home they're also open for breakfast!
Under new management and good prices, looks like a fun bar....if I ever get time to stop and take up the offer of a drink I'll report back more!
This is a great place to sit whilst waiting for your turtle boat to come in, and is also generous with food portions. Beautiful view!
A good escape from the main drag as this bar is deceptively long! And nothing like Potters Bar in Herts, thankfully. Good place to nip into mid shopping trip, or to park the menfolk in.
I may never forgive you for being closed the one day I managed to make it for breakfast, but otherwise you guys have done a fantastic job with the bar, it's now a Real Strings-Themed bar with guitars poking out oif every orifice.
If anyone's not been it's well worth checking this bar out, just off the main drag but lively as anything. And a Real stage with Real musicians! Every Night!
These guys have it sussed, still don't understand why people want to go to a British pub while in Greece for just a week, but if you do, then come here! (I'm there most nights but then my excuse is that I live here.....)
Good varied menu, lovely setting on the main Kalamaki Laganas Road but away from everything else. Delicious food but my one complaint would be the at the two vegetarian sounding dishes I ordered (garlic mushrooms and cheese crepe) both transpired to be meaty. Veggies get used to this, but it only happned to me twice in six months in Kalamaki and both times were here! otherwise one of our favourites. Cool name too!
This is the most delicious food in Kalamaki& Laganas without a doubt. The view, the peace, and the tastes are worth the climb up the stairs, and if you chat up the PR you'll get free wine.
Dead posh here, you get your own knife fork and napkin individually wrapped! Interesting plantlife draping down fromthe ceiling and quite entertaining to watch waiters getting smacked in the face. But they've built a whole new section since we last went so maybe that's been changed.
Fabulous, authentic, delicious food, great menu, and delightful service, but you could easily spend half your week's food budget here in one night. A great treat if you're here for the season but otherwise wait til you're back in UK (or India) where it's much cheaper.
This place is a bit different and has food onthe menu you won't find anywhere else and will want to come back for. However the service was appalling - our drinks arrived long after our main course and finding the waitress at any point was very difficult. Lovely setting but take mosquito repellent!
PS
This is a really sweet little bistro style cafe, serving delicious home made english food, but in a much more attractive setting than most of the 'english food' establishments. The staff are all very friendly and the daily specials are just that.
This definitely has the biggest and most varied menu on the island. Vegetarians have about thirty starter choices and twentyfive main course choices - how an omnivore ever makes up his mind I've no idea! The portions are enormous and the food is good. the only downside is that the restaurant is somethat a victim of it;s own success - it's always crowded, the staff always seem harrassed (they clearly do work very hard but are all polite and efficient) and the meals do have a mass-market quaility abiut them - everything arrives with the same side dish of salad, each table gets one round roll and one long one. it's good food though, and a fun night. Varied entertainment and fantastic deserts.
This one has a really unusual menu with a taste of France about it, as well as some dishes not seen anywhere else in Greece. The decor is really odd - it looks like a fast food joint outside which is a real shame, as inside the walls have beautiful murals, the tables are clothes and it's a great place for a classy romantic meal. Why the rear is used as a sanctuary for retired John Smiths Men cut outs is baffling. The cocktails are individually made with fresh fruit and cream and are delicious, as is the food. Highly recommended!
This place is gorgeous - lovely food, try the platter - and best of all it's open at lunchtimes too.
This is an extremely beautiful restaurant, certainly the highest class establishemnt in the resort. The menu is fairly ordinary as is the food, but the tables are set far apart from eachother in carefully landscaped gardens, and real traditional greek music occasionally features. The prices are extortionate, which is fair enough as they clearly serve far fewer people than the other mass market restaurants, but what I consider unfair is that there's no menu on display - you don't see the pricelist until you've already started work on the bread. We asked for a house wine as the winelist was way out of our budget, were given a 2 euro bottle fromthe supermarket and charged 18, jsut for the wine. you might consider the setting worth the extra money, but don't expect the menu or food to be any better than any other restaurant in the road where it will be half the price.
A delightful greek restaurant which is well worth the taxi or trek from the town (but hail a taxi in the street, it's 2 euros more if they order it for you) or a real bonus if you're staying close by. The menu is extensive, includes a vegetarian moussaka, and you get a choice of breads rather than be forced to pay 1.20 euros for plain bread you may not want. The food is rather salty but the menu does suggest you taste your food before adding salt, and states that this is the traditional style. The proprietor Dionyssios is effusive and welcoming - come along twice and you'll be snogged. The restaurant again is a bit of a victim of its own sucess as it can get crowded and busy, but the staff still try to make you feel welcome and special. With one exception - the snootiest waiter in Greece works here and whilst we did wonder how in earth he got his job back again this year, it is perhaps for the entertainment value. He walks around with his nose in the air and utters real disdain if you ask for somenthing. We've had menus slapped in our faces more than once. Look out for him - you'll spot him straight away!
This taverner is worth the wait if it's full - have a drink from the delightful Deborah in the bar next door until your table is ready.
This is the favourite. This restaurant can't be faulted - the menu is extensive and authentic, the meals are delicious, the service good, and the location is just perfect - views of the sea, the mountains, and fields with rabbits gambolling about. The prices are lower than most places, and when we mentioned to the (stunning, but happilly married) manager that most places charge extra for a sea view, he said that the vista was a gift from God. My friend proposed to his girlfriend there and had the whole taverner in tears - we couldn't have found a beetr spot.
It's open at lunchtimes too - GO THERE!
Gill - yes, they do play every night!
I really like this place - the food is basic and english but good, and the cafe is well presented. Lurch from The Addams family appears to wait on tables but he's totally harmless. If you don't want to eat greek or spend a lot of time or money, come here.
This place has the prime location, on the corner of the two main roads and as a result is always full but not deservedly so - it's OK but nothing special at all. You can do much better elsewhere. Sorry guys, you need to try a little harder.
The first reason we keep coming here is that it's OPEN AT LUNCHTIME, second is the lure of the Crepe With Spinach (oven baked and totally smothered in melted cheddar cheese) and third is the fact that it really is a nice place. Quiet(at least it is in the daytime, lovely service, wide varied menu, and delicious home prepared food. Kristos is a delight. Go there!
BEST VEGGIE BURGER ANYWHERE!
Vegetarians simply have to try this. Unlike the slice of cardboard or slad filled bun most fast food places pass off as a veggie burger, this place have inverted an amazing creation containing potato, tsatsiki, salad, cheese, vegetables, garlic, and goodness knows what else but it's absolutely delicious.
Eurodrivers!
Would you be interested in hiring or selling to me the yelllow jeep that's parked up behind Agrillia supermarket? If it needs work doing maybe I could sort that out. If you're not using it, please get in touch!

This is a really cool bar, it's on the main road but surrounded by shrubs and greenery creating a little intimate bar atmosphere, and you can see the sea too! Great music...
This is really the opnly good restaurant in Laganas - the food is SUPERB. Go there!
