had meal here twice and was difficult to fault
On the 'back road' next to Illusion, go right just before the Factory (going up the hill) and follow the road, restaurant is about 5 mins on left hand side. Or head behind Stars and bear left at the fork and then follow the footpath. Nice setting with plant covered eating area, very cute family of kittens mewing for food and friendly staff. Food very nice - large portions - ate far too much though so couldn't manage my free Ouzo with the bill, wouldn't say it was the cheapest in Argassi but probably the most relaxing as no traffic noise at all.
It's a shame we didn't find this restaurant until near the end of our holiday, but we still went back the following night. Ideal for couples or families, located in a quiet area of Argassi, away from the main strip. Traditional greek cuisine. Warning: a big glass of ouzo accompanies your bill.
We found this place 2 years ago on the recommendation of a local, and what a find! Most places say "traditional Greek food", but where else can you find kleftico cooked and served in a paper bag? (that's the authentic style). The service and food are superb, nothing is too much trouble. When the bill arrives, accompanied by a large ouzo (like it or not), I always have to check it... it always seems too low! If you head out of Argassi, towards Zante Town, go past the Stars Restaurant (another good place to eat), as far as the small church on the right. Turn left, and walk about 500 yds. On your left is the Illision, 75 yds. past and on the right is the Edem. There is a short cut behind Stars, but it is tricky at night as there are no lights at all. A must try for 'real' Greek food.
