Windmill Hotel

We stayed at the Windmill Studios in Sept last year for 2 weeks and would certainly go back there. This was our 3rd time in Argassi but the first at the Windmill.  The food was lovely and reasonable and the pool it was nice not to be crowed and noisy. 

Just got back from a week at Windmill Studios, seven of us, three of whom had never been to Zante, two who had stayed in Argassi before, and the two of us, our eighth visit to Zante but our first stay in Argassi. The studios are situated on the way out of Argassi, lovely and quiet. The grounds are very well kept, and the pool area is fab. Rooms are a reasonable size, and kept spotless. Wonderful shower, with a curtain too!!!! The pool bar does a great selection of food from 8am till late, so if you can't be bothered to walk into Argassi you can eat very well within the complex. I had the "childrens" breakfast a few mornings, MORE than enough for me, mmmmmmm!!! And only 2.50 euros too!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at these lovely apartments, and would not hesitate to recommend them, we would happily stay there again. Thank you to all the friendly, hard working staff for making our holiday so enjoyable

hiya it,s michelle paul and connor, we just got back from our hols staying at the windmill apartments argassi, zante, it was absolutely beautiful, the staff were very friendly and the service was good too, the food was nice too, connor loved the pool we would definietly go back hope fully next year or the year after, connor met sum lovely lads and lasses from glasgow, and the people in the room next too us were nice too,the only problem we had was the room was too small for the 3 of us we had no privacy,and we had to be out by 12 noon sunday and we didnt fly til early hours monday morning very tiring,all in all we enjoyed it very much the scenery was beautiful,the locals were lovely too,not much in the hotel itself for kids too do especially younger 1,s..

Hello all, My husband and i are due to return to Windmill Studios in September this year for our first wedding anniversary... My husband proposed here on our first stay in 2007. Is Julian going to be around does anyone know?... These studios are fantastic for the money and the people are lovely.. looking forward to September already

Lovely place to stay. 1st time staying in Argassi (9th in Zakynthos) and what a gem this place is. Far enough out of the main bustle but close enough to feel part of the great holiday atmosphere. Truly a great place for a family holiday.

During our stay we had the best reception staff ever but unfortunately Suzie left suddenly which was a great loss to the hotel. We have never met such a wonderfully friendly and interested receptionist as Suzie and she resigned in the main due to the way she was treated by some of the guests. If its you, and you are reading, this shame on you. Suzie we love you!

Major disappointment that there wasnt any activity in the hotel at night apart from the "Greek Night" which was just OK once the smoke had cleared from the BBQ.

Recommended  Green Frog - great food and reasonable prices. Every meal we had was a treat and Emily was a great waitress. Run by Mandy and Nicos ( or is it really Tom Conteh?) this is a truly special place. Irish Tony and his Karaoke is great fun and the Mini Golf a pleasant 1/2 hour fun.Faros Car Hire good value and professional. Tourist Bus into Zakynthos town a good informative evening out and we had a lovely meal just off the main square.

Not recommended . Hotel Palmyra Restaurant- Over sold, over priced and food the worst we had on the holiday. Don't believe the guy outside- walk by -there are loads of good restaurants. Beach - they're aint one so get the free bus to St Nicholas Beach

This place just gets better and better each year.Special thanks to Dennis & Jenny the best hosts you could ever meet,and the best two receptionists Suzie(A lovely Canadian Lady) & Lovely Sue from Gloucester.They never fail to say hello to you every day.I shall look forward to seeing you all on 15th sep.

just got back from argassi yesterday, had a agreat time with Bill the barman and the rest of you we met. You might remember us as Calum and Brittany but we stayed in Stornoway... pictures up soon!!

will definitley return to argassi at some point but probably not windmill studios... sorry guys!

Hi just returned from the Windmill Studios accomadation was fab room 505 2 bedroom, the hosts Dennis and Jenny are really friendly, Excellent facitilies for the children, made loads of friends around the pool. Monday night was Greek night excellent value for money this is a must. hope to c u sometime next year.

Came back from the Windmill Studios yesterday and am missing it already, we had a fantastic holiday. Rooms were very clean and modern. Dennis and Jenny are very friendly and helpful. Situated in a great place with just a short walk to the beaches, resturants and shops. I would definatley recommend these studios.

Just came back from our 3rd stay at the windmill had another great stay at great apartments, very freindly staff and owners, very clean and modern rooms a lot better than you will find in other apartments in greece!! all rooms have been refurbed in the last 12months and are very modern.

We have just got back from the Windmill Studios.  We enjoyed our holiday as the apartments are situated in a good location, very close to the shops, bars and amenities.  However, having previously read the reviews on this website which mostly rated the accommodation as excellent, I must say I was very disappointed.  Our accommodation was very noisy.   We were in Room 202 situated on the ground floor.  Noise could be heard from the floors above which echoed throughout the room.  The telephone in reception sounded like it was ringing in our room.  There is a pool table in reception and the noise travelled so far that we could hear the balls being potted!!  The maids were clanging and banging from 7am.  We spoke to other people who were situated in other parts of the apartments and they too had experienced a lot of noise.  Also the umbrellas by the pool need updating, they were very old and tatty.  If you are a beach lover you will be disappointed.  There is not much of a beach.  On the plus side, the food was very good and reasonably priced and the people were very friendly!! 

Went to the Windmill in August this year rooms were very basic.  Cleanliness was average as our room although seeming to be cleaned left a little to be desired.  Disappointed about room allocation as we were away from our daughters room and they were sharing balcony with other guests, when it should have been us.  Julian the barman was excellent, so were the staff on during the day.  Meals were good value and filling, pool was good although more sunbeds were needed as by 7 am all were gone. Location was excellent close to bars and restaurants. I would have enjoyed my stay more if first impressions had been better.

 just returned from windmill studios. we had an excellent time with first choice. rep was ok.  new lad.  reception staff was very good , cleaning staff was excellent cleaned everyday ! apartment was basic but nice and clean. we diddnt have enought cutlarys to cook with , but when we asked we were suplied with them emediatly  very good !!   julian ((the barman)) was brill !!!!  retaurant was very good and resonably priced !! good service  thankyou julian your a star !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI EVERYONE, JUST RETURNED FROM 2 WEEKS IN THE WINDMILL STUDIOS. HAD AN EXCELLENT TIME. WEATHER WAS BRILL.BEACH IS SMALL BUT REALLY NICE. EVERYTHING IS REALLY CLOSE TO YOU. THE COMPANY WAS GOOD, EVERYONE SEEMED TO GET ON GOOD. ENTERTAINMENT WAS ALRIGHT. A REALLY GOOD HOLIDAY, HAD A GREAT TIME.

Jenny and Dennis are the best hosts you could possibly want. The usual crew made things so relaxed as usual.

 Arrived back from the Windmill on 10th Aug after our 6th visit,as usual we had a fantastic time.Thank you Jenny, Dennis , family and staff ( especially Julian) for a wonderfully warm welcome.It was also nice to catch up with the other regulars who year after year go back to these fantastic apartments.

Just back from another great holiday in Argassi, fourth time in resort, third at the Windmill.

We stopped at the windmill studios last September again in May and we are back there in 7 weeks.... is that a better recommendation.

seriuosly though they are situated in an ideal location, close by for all ammenities but far enough away not to be on top of noise etc.

The pool is lovely and plenty of loungers and parasols, the snack bar is cheap and plenty to choose from and as for the staff there they are some of the nicest on the island my 3 year old loved them.

This holiday was one of the best we have been on the location was ex the apartments were ex and the food was lovely. denis and jenny make you most welcome and will do anything to help you infact all the staff will help in any way if they can. The resort is very children friendly and safe we look forward to going next year hopefully. The barman Julian is quite funny and the entertainment at the apartments is good my kids are missing nick and peter already. Thanks for a lovely relaxing holiday.

Jenny and Dennis, thankyou again for yet another great holiday! Special thanks to Julian and Helena. See you in 2 years time (if not before). If anyone is reading this to decide to go or not, Just GO, You will have a great time!!!!

 me and my family have been going to argassi for the past 4 years and we have a great holiday everytime. the people are so friendly and it was our first time at the windmill studios. they made us feel extremely welcome just like we knew they would and we will definitley be going back at some point. the best thing about the holiday was chilling out round the pool with a nice ice cold pint of mythos from julian behind the bar!! Just got home from 2 weeks staying at the Windmill and loved it.  The rooms were always clean, the staff friendly, and the whole place had a really friendly, welcoming atmosphere.  The pool area was great and location perfect, nice and oueit bu tonly 5 minutes from all the bars and restaurants.  Would certainly return and will recommend it to anyone who is planning to visit Zante.

A word of waring to anyone who is planning on staying at the Windmill Apartments in Argassi. DO NOT STAY IN room 102 or any room within this area! Every morning around 7am you are woken up by the maids banging about and talking near the reception area. THe main office for the maids and workers are right across the way from this room. By the end of my 2 week stay i was ready to leave and get a good nights sleep!!!!!

we went for 2 weeks in august, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Julian the barman was very nice extremly funny. we'd definately go back again  

This was our fourth time staying at the Windmill, the welcome we received this year was the warmest ever. Dennis and Jenny are the tops. This is the only place I would ever stay in Zante. The food was excellent and good value for money We have made some great friends over the years at the Windmill, Wayne and Michelle you are just Lush (Dave Lush) Julian the barmen really is the best, although some of his tricks are a little naff, (he has an accomplice in Dennis). Niko is the best barmen of them all.

We had a lovely two week stay here and would definately go back again.  Two of our party are planning on ging back for a week later this year.  The owners are very helpful, Suzie on reception was lovely as was Helena behind the pool bar.  Julian who works behind the bar on an evening is just funny - you'll see what I mean - don't let him show you any tricks - he's rubbish - but still funny.

stayed here from 3/7 till 17/7 05.fantastic location away from the hustle & bustle.great pool with kids section.greek night was excellent.a big hello to matt the halesowen massive!! and natalie & amy the bexhill massive.i doubt bexhill has ever been as quiet as when you two were here!

Going to the Windmill for the 4th time on the 26th July. Cant wait to see Jenny and Dennis and family. We hear all the old crowd are going back so will be in for some fun on the Karoke nights. Dave says get the wig ready for Wuthering Heights and make sure there is plenty of banoffee pie.

Windmill has 2 be the best hotel i have ever stayed at. Jenny and Dennis are the best people 2 own a hotel. Food great staff absolutely brilliant  barman Julian absolutely brillaint so funny. Kids great and location is right and u get a perfect view off the sea. Service and food is great 8 times we have been there not once have we ever been let down.

we went back to the windmill for the 8 time and it was so gud we are going back on the 31st of july. jenny and dennis are the friendliest people you could have as hotel owners. everyone at the hotel makes an effort to satisfy your needs.

we stayed in the windmill apartments in july 2004 with our friends. we made friends there and had a brill time. everyone is friendly and its very clean. the only thing is the walls are really thin and you can hear everythin. will definately go again.!!!

We stayed at the Windmill in August 2005. We had a great time. The apartments we stayed in were right next to the bar and in front of the pool. Julian the barman who my son nicknamed George was a star turn, great with the kids. Liam our First Choice Rep was excellent. Sorry you didn't get to Mexico Liam but Crete is fab too!! These apartments are in an excellent position close to everything. Food in the snack bar not bad and reasonable prices. Entertainment good family fun.

hello to everyone who stayed at the windmill this summer,its liam the 1st choice rep, i hope everyone had a great time on holiday and would like to thank every single person that took 2minutes of there time on the plane to ticket the excellent box for me! i understand that its 2 minutes drinking time so Big Thank You ha ha i didnt make it to mexico but will be in Crete in the summer so not all bad. suzie(reception lady), jenny & Dennis (Owners) are the best people in the world and really miss you all already and all the best for next summer! if you thinking about staying here next year dont think just come its excellent so friendly, perfect views. my quiz will be missing but im sure you will get over it and just to clear something up lobsters have 8 legs. well must go things to do like bring the SUN OUT

Got back from windmill 2 days ago. We really enjoyed it here everyone was so friendly and the greek night was a great laugh. They kept getting my boyfriend up dancing he didn't have a choice on the matter some really good laughs!!! Pool was lovely apartment nice view excellent we just loved it here and will certainly be back

got back from windmill apartments on august 4th, first time abroad with our 4 children. we had a fantastic time, rooms were clean, pool brilliant, evening entertainment great, check out the greek night on a friday,had a great laugh, and dont miss julian the barman having a sing song on the kareoke nights, he's a hoot. People here are real friendly, and made us and the kids real welcome wherever we went, food and wine fab prices in all the retaurants we visited, and if you get the chance a cruise round the island is a must, spectacular views, see a guy cooled pete, hes buy the restaurant with the fountain, cant remember the name. If you got kids and there not into fancy foods, check out the frog, my son jack said theres were the best for burgers!!! happy hilidays!!!!

Arrived back in England on wednesday (14th July) and had a great time staying in Argassi. The windmill is a great place to stay with a lovely setting and far away from the noise of the centre of argassi. We had a lovely and big joint balcony with the other people we went with which was ideal for those late evening drinks! The apartments were cleaned regularly and the pool area was lovely.The owners didn't seem to acknowledge us much, but we still really enjoyed our stay here. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The pool was awesome and the rooms were cleaned regulary. Dennis was a friendly nice guy and so was the short haired female recepionist who pretended to be german half the time. They put loads of good entertainment on in the nights and the poolside bar was qaulity. However i never saw jenny smile in 2 weeks and she tried to avoid speaking to us aswell. Also the dark haired female recepionist was very grumpy and sarcastic. Everything else was really good there and I'd definately recommend going there. Big up the Fonzy's of Swansea.

Just got back from Windmill Studios on Tuesday 15 june Had a brilliant time. The studio was spotless and there was adequate room for my husband and I and 15 year old son. Nothing is to much trouble for the owners Dennis and Jenny who will go out of their way to make you feel welcome, we will be going back next year. Hi to everyone at the pool bar and love and kisses to Julian (Tom Criuse) the lovely barman.

my family and myself stayed at the windmill studios in may 04 we thouht the place was very nice and clean we had clean sheets every o ther day the room was quite big and a proper single bed which i thought my daugther might have to sleep on a put up bed.we would definitely stay there again.the greek night was brilliant entertainment.

We stayed at the windmill studios for two weeks last yaer. The place is heaven. Theres enough seclusion for relaxation, yet everything is there on the doorstep when you want to venture out. We had 2 apartments with shared balconies. We put the kids, aged 11, 14 & 17 in one room and me and hubby had the other. The cleanliness is second to none and as for faded bedding I havent a clue where that comment came from. Jenny, Dennis and the kids are great company, the poolside bar and meals are excellent and I can honestly say it's the best holiday we've had. We're going back in August fro a re-run!

WE are going to the Windmill Studios in June and I have just been on another review website that has some very bad reviews of this accomadation, the review states that some balconies are shared (which is not mentioned in the brochure)and that the rooms are very small and although clean that the linen mattresses towels and furnishings look very old and faded. Although I know Greece can be very basic I am now worried that we have made the wrong choice can anyone help.

Does anybody have any photos of the Windmill Studios other than the ones on the website? I am going there on 23rd June this year for 2 weeks and would like some more info. Also pictures of the airport would be good as I have heard loads of bad things about it!

Dave Wood has rarely said a truer word. The Windmill is the the friendliest place i have ever stayed with Jenny and Dennis being the perfect hosts. The "fishing", if you can call it that wasn't brilliant but I bet I'll catch a fish this year!

What a fantastic holiday for the second year running at the Windmill. Jenny and Dennis are remarkable hosts, so friendly, nothing is too much trouble.It was great to see old friends again,The food is excellent and very good value, you must try the Banoffe Pie.
Tell them Dave Spice recommended it.Looking forward to my next visit to the Windmill Hopefully in October, hope all the gang meet up again

This was our 6th visit to the island, and our second visit to the Windmill Apartments. Once again another fabulous holiday, Jenny & Dennis are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The apartments are extremely clean and spacious and the air conditioning is an added attraction! The food is a credit to Angelika, the resident chef and the entertainment is a scream, especially the Karaoke Nights. Long live the 'Von Trapps'. We will definitely be going back for another holiday.

We have been to the Windmill Studios 5 times we think it is absolutley wounderful. We found the staff very helpful and the cleanliness is very good. The night life is great for all the age groups.
The beach is just 5 mins away.
Jenny and Dennis are really welcoming and friendly.
