Thomas R  (30 September 2007)        10/10

Just returned home from a two week stay in kalamaki, and whilst there i found a cafe called deppys, its serves the best englsih food in all of greece., the yorkshire puds are the best as well as the chocolate cake.    the owner, wendy, makes everyone feel welcome, and her grandson richard keeps up apperance and serves all the customers efficently, nothing is too much trouble. deppys is a muct for anyone travelling to zante.

Emma J  (28 September 2007)        10/10

This is the best restaurant in Kalamaki by far, between the great service and the fantastic food, ITS NUMBER 1.Wendy is so lovely, and made us feel really welcome. As for the waiter, Wendys grandson Richard, he has made us book our holiday for next yr just to see him. U couldnt visit a better restaurant believe me i have been there. Wendys homemade sunday dinners are the best in Greece never mind Kalamaki. Thank you for our great holiday and thanks for all your help. U made it a holiday of a lifetime. Will see u next yr as we have already booked up. Luv and hugs. Hope the family are well. See u next yr

Just returned from another visit to Kalamaki (7th year) having missed last year to find by good fortune an excellent Cafe/Restaurant called Deppy's has sprung up just down from the Cava Dor Hotel.  The friendliness of Kalamaki is top notch, however at Deppy's this welcome is definitely cranked up another notch or two. "Wendy" who runs the establishment is from day one like a best friend/ mum and a font of information for visitors new to Kalamaki.
Another plus is that if the welcome is of the highest order the quality of food and service matches it like for like. Breakfasts are the best on the Kalamaki strip, good portions and good quality..the Sunday roasts are so popular its best to order early Sunday morning or you may miss out.  Had a Roast followed by Darrens chocolate fudge cake (melts in your mouth!) and was totally stuffed.
Deppy's is backed up by Wendy's grandson " Richard" who is like a whippet around the tables, nothing is too much trouble!  This is the first time we have ever written a holiday review but Deppy's will be without doubt the first place we will visit on our return next year!!!

Anne P  (08 September 2007)        10/10

had a great time at deppys, wendy was a great hostess and the food was great holly is still going on about the chicken pie and gravy and now that i am home i am going to attempt to make tezaki  like wendy made , it was gorgeous.   thanks also for the service of  Richard [ remember i am the one u ran to the chemist for to get me water tablets] u are a life saver.

next time we come we will stay at kalimake so we can see u more often thanks for everything
love from Anne Chris Holly and Ben sept 07

Christine N  (28 August 2007)        10/10

While visiting kalamaki we stumbled on deppys and were pleased to see a real english restaurant that served traditional english food, everything fresh nothing is frozen, just like grandma used to make. Her yorkshire puddings were out of this world. What a warm and friendly lady wendy is and made you feel realy welcome and kevins strongbow cider was the best .Her grandson richard was the best waiter on kalamaki, nothing was ever too much trouble. Her breakfasts were superb too.Hope to go back soon and we will definately be going to give wendy a visit thanks for everything wendy and richard for feeding us up.thanks stuart and christine (STRONGBOW DRINKER).

We had some lovely breakfasts at Deppys and whilst husband and 2 boys had Wendy's faultless english breakfasts I went for the lovely greek yoghurt, honey and fruit which was delicious.Wendy's hospitality was second to none and we would certainly recommend Deppys to any visitor.

the best place in kalamaki for an english breakfast 2nd to none, wendy is only slightly barmy but it makes great entertainment whilst eating. we discovered deppys last year and could not wait for our special breakfast. we even tried some of her tatty scones ( whatever they are ). wendys little helper this time was rhona one half of nice n easy the singing duo from yorkshire or paul the other half of the duo when rhona had a hang over. the duo sing at the rose and crown which is part of the parthenon restraunt and on another night at the temple bar/restraunt a new one this year that was also excellent for food.

wendy made us feel very special for our 1st anniversary while we were there made the table up and had a glass of bucks fizz with us (always good at 11am) we even went out with her to see the singers performing at the rose and crown. not to be missed is pauls party piece ( how are you then balloon head) much more than just the food lady wendy is more like an old friend x
definately be back to see you again in the future.
love John and Carolyn one half of the phantom farters of kalamaki ( thanks for all the beans)

Spent a lovely few days in Kalamaki.  I heartily recommend eating at Deppys, fantastic for value, quality, cleanliness and atmosphere.  We all enjoyed our breakfasts (tried other places - but none compare!), we even went back for lunch on some days.

Lets face it, food can be the make or break of your holiday - and Deppys definately made ours.

Can't wait to come back next year
Keep Up The good work !

Caron L  (06 August 2007)        10/10

The breakfasts at Wendy's is the best on the island and her cottage pie and choc fudge cake is to die for. We had a great time in Kalamaki and would recommend the food, service and friendly attitude as it is second to none. With Wendy at the helm it is a joy to be there.

Ann D  (07 January 2007)

Hi Wendy & Darren

Just to say it is the best breakfast in Kalamaki, Very welcome and friendly service, Couldn't do enough for you. It is the best Sunday dinner you will find in Kalamaki. Can't wait till we get back there all booked up for May. See you then. Best Wishes for the 2007 season.

Kevin S  (01 October 2006)

A home from home in the resort of Kalamaki. Brilliant service, excellent food 100% recommended by myself, my wife, and our four year old daughter Erin (please can I have some more Yorkshire Puddings and gravy Wendy?) Use this restaurant, you will never be dissapointed

Sandra H  (30 September 2006)

Hi Wendy and Sandra, missing our breakfast and sunday roast already, tell your hubby he deserves a medal for his apple crumble. For anyone going to kalamaki deppys is a must for breakfast good service and they make you feel welcome. from the crazy eleven gang

Melissa R  (22 September 2006)

what can i say, the place to be in zante. food is great, everything is great 5 star quality couldnt ask for better. well done.

Claire H  (12 September 2006)

When my parents kept on going on about how great Deppy's breakfast was it was only a matter of time till we tried it .... The service and prices are great and the food was delicious!

I would have the 'Healthy option' near enough every morning which gave me my name of the 'healthy option queen' .... this is a big slice of melon, a slice of toast and greek yogurt and honey. Because im not the biggest honey lover in the world and the yogurt on its own was a bit too much for me i was offered a different option ...... i got givven some strawberry 'monkey blood' in the honeys place, which when mixed together with the yogurt is to die for!!
My Boyfriend got filled up everymorning with the 'special' which is a propper english brekky, none of this cheese and ham on bread greeky stuff ... it even has english sausages which he was pleased about (not greek sausage which is basically grilled hotdogs, iew!) and because he got stung off one of the crazy giant wasps he was offered an extra sausage and hash brown which was very nice of them!! would deffo recommend this place to anyone!!

Martin H  (08 September 2006)

Fantastic people,...no...friends! We went there almost every day for the "special" and a sausage sandwich to take our for our sleepy daughter . We were so sorry to go as they made you feel so welcome . Only been open 12 weeks now but keep it up and McDonald's will have a run for their money!!! We recommend, without doubt, to at least try it once, that's all you will need because you will go back day after day.

Good luck for next year and the refurbishments over the winter, and Wendy, don't forget the toast, or the tea, or the jam etc

Daniel D  (04 September 2006)

Healthy option is a must for something different it was refreshing and tasty.

Great cup of tea
Great scrambled eggs - better than Anna's!!!!!!!

Wendy keep slipping those dogs them odd sausages and who knows why not try the yoghurt now i am not their to eat it every day.

Take Care

Every breakfast time was as funny as the other from wendy forgetting things to her panicing when darren is out and about and she is left on her own.

Anna B  (04 September 2006)

Hi Wendy and Darren

Definately a must for breakfast i can not express enough how nice every thing was we had from their and nothing was too much for them. Even the healthy option breakfast was great and that is all my boyfriend ate for breakfast until the last day were he enjoyed a fry up. As it was our last day we requested scrambled eggs instead of fried and we were told darren does not like making them but they were lovely thank darren.
Sunday dinner was lovely we had it twice and it was just like eating dinner at home it was lovely everything cooked to perfection. The Yorkshire pudds are lovely if you are lucky enough to gat them before wendy burns them
After we found Deppys we did not go anywhere else for breakfast except when we went to kefelonia but in a word it was CRAP.
Wendy and Darren are a great couple and have got a great thing going on and they have only been their 12 weeks. Well done guys keep up the good work.

We also sampled the beach picnic for the jeep safari and it is definately a must it was lovely and saved a good amount of money.

The food is great the service is good even wendy's crumble but don't feel down hearted if wendy forgets your tea - her memory is not the best but other than that brill.

Definatley the best cup of tea on the island.

Missing it all ready
Keep us up to date about puppy and keep in touch
And who knows we may be back for the regular breakfast and the healthy option

Stephen B  (28 August 2006)

If you like morning entertainment, and you`re feeling peckish too,
take a trip to Deppy`s bar, they`ll put on a show for you.

Darren does the cooking, and all the odd jobs you can name,
while Wendy takes the orders, conversation is her game.

If you want a traditional breakfast, that`s English through and through,
you have to visit Deppy`s bar, cause thats all they really do.

Darrens food is excellent, he serves up a tasty storm,
you may not get what you ordered, but that seems to be the norm.

The menu is sufficient, you can vary it at will,
the prices are so reasonable, as you`ll see when paying the bill.

As breakfasts go, Deppy`s is the place, that really is a fact!
Two nicer people you couldn't hope to meet, they are the perfect double act.

Thanks for starting our day with a smile,
from Steve & Di, (Royston, South Yorkshire)

Keith B  (25 August 2006)

We did'nt fancy the continental breakfast offered at the hotel so we found Deppys. What a find! Wendy and Darren do the best English Breakfast in Kalamaki. You must try the Sunday Dinner. Real mashed and roast potatoes, yorkshire puds veg and gravey. A portion of Darrens Apple Crumble is a must. Wendy & Darren are a very friendly couple and if it's not on the menu they will try and make it for you if they can. Wendy will also do you a cool box for the beach. When you've tried the other restaurants and you want real English food go to Deppys. See you both next year. Keith & gill

Andy W  (22 August 2006)

Hi Wendy and Darren,

Yes its us - your boys from the last 2 weeks in June, hope you are ok and its not too hot for you.

4 of us went to Kalamaki and stayed at the Cavo Doro self catering. Wanted a good place for breakfast and found Deppy's as its just across the road on day 1. BRILLIANT breakfast. Tried a couple of others but was back at Deppy's by day 4 - just the best in the resort. Wendy is great, a good laugh and by the end of the holiday had served breakfast and not forgotten anything (senior moments ha ha!!!) Just kidding, its just the best place to start the day. Give it a try, you won't be disapointed, Wendy even does Sunday Roasts for all you traditionalists.
We're still missing it now!
When we return yo Kalamaki, first port of call will be Deppy's. See you again.

Alison B  (04 August 2006)

By far the best English Breakfast and roast dinner in Kalamaki (if not the whole of Zakynthos).  Really friendly service (by Darren and Wendy), willing to cook anything as long as they have the ingredients, proper English food freshly cooked.  When we return we will be there for breakfast and Sunday dinner again.  Also do a fantastic picnic in a cool bag to take out (great to take to the airport on the way home).  Also very good for vegetarian food (veggie roast dinner and veggie breakfast).  Little daughter loved the food (especially the melon slices after her frosties!!).  Very highly recommended, Can't stress enough how much better than the rest these guys are!
