Never ate here on an evening, always went elsewhere.

nice restuant in the centre of town. Service was easily the best in town the staff were very attentive and not imposing.

This was our second time in Alykes and we were welcomed back with open arms at Relax as we had quite a few meals in there last year. The food is excellent quality and value for money. We were having breakfasts for four with drink for around 25 euros and evening meals with drinks for around 35 euros.Charlotte (pictured with my daughter Leah and son Joe) and the rest of the staff are very kind and nothing is too much trouble for them (and thankyou Sakis for the free smoothies!).We have tried a few  restaurants in Alykes and haven't really had a bad meal in any, but Relax has a lovely  atmosphere that draws us back again and again.

Sick to quaffing your champers and caviar whilst reading your Hadens guide and leave the real holiday makers of Alykes to decide where they want to eat whilst on hoilday.
This restauant works hard to maintain its regular standard and is no way the same as its so called counter part twin accross the road. Its the same old story that you cant please everybody but there is no need to be telling people to avoid it like most of the other restauants on the strip when nothing was wrong with the food you ate...totally unfair or what!! Oh and by the way the Ponderosa is not run by a Greek man and his English wife,its run by himself, his divorced Greek wife and his English lover.

Ok, let's get real here.  This is a nice little outdoor/ terraced cafe but by UK standards wouldn't even make an 'average' listing in the Harden's guide!  Relax,  like it's almost twin like counterpart across the street is a nice place for breakfast or lunch during a break from the midday heat and beach, but you could do a lot better for dinner.

 We have just returned from our third holiday in Alykes and again have eaten at Relax.  The food and service is excellent, as always, and nothing is too much trouble.  Would recommend eating here!

Great food, great hospitality, and price good. Kids liked it coz they got crayons and paper.

THE BEST we ate here 3 times in 2 weeks the food was great and service just as good.

We ate here once during our week long stay (we had a car so we had sooo much choice)

Good for full english best value around. However I got and "Elvis Burger" one day and realy it should have been called a little Richard burger because there was something small and black in it. If Elvis ate these little burnt burgers he would still be alive today!! Also we had to wait 40mins till i enquired as to where the food was, "the restaurant was very quite at this time" then it came, The burger discription stated that it came with coleslaw, it did but it was presented in what looked like an eye bath and no bigger?! "Sort your burgers out!" apart from that it was good.

just returned from alikes for the 2nd time first time we ate at the olympic on our return we were looking forward to a big feast there but was very dissappointed by the un relaxed service we recieved this time so went to the relax the service was excellent after the 1st night our drinks were never ordered they were remembered,the staff were outstanding people always ready for a laugh and joke.a must have is the chocolate brownie and chocolate cake yum yumi return on the 4 th may 2006 cant wait can highly reccomend the zantino studios too.hi to effie there and guys and gals at relax see you next year from ian and chris "vodka lime and lemonade"hope maria is better

Lovely food, very friendly staff, great atmosphere & good price. Maria & Charlotte very helpful.Happy to serve food not on menu.  Spag bol went down a treat, souvlakia, Zakynthos lamb & Jug veal all lovely. Tried a few but ended up at Relax most nights after a few drinks across the road at the Jungle bar. Hope to go back again soon and meet our new friends at Relax.

Well, if Alan, Sue & Jack have had 75 meals in the Relax then we must have clocked up over 175 meals.  We have be going to Alykes for 9 years now and Relax is bar far the best.  Maria will always rememberour drinks :  Bacardi/coke, Bacardi/light coke, Brandy/coke & Brandy/lemondade x 2 !!

Thankyou so much to Charlotte, George and all the staff at Relax.  We vowed not to eat at the same place twice on this holiday but it all went by the by after our fourth day and we didnt eat anywhere else after that.  Food and service was excellent, such a friendly bunch of staff.  They were very happy to alter the menu for us when we wanted something different.  A great place we would definately return to.

I'm puzzled by all the excellent reviews.  Maybe we went on a bad night.  We ate in many restaurants during our 2 weeks and Relax was, without doubt, the worst of all.  Not that it was awful - it's just that the overall standard in Alykes is quite good and Relax didn't measure up to the rest in any respect.  Food was very ordinary, service was slow and we got the impression that we were just making up the numbers. They certainly weren't bothered whether we returned or not.  Would definitely not recommend.

Well what can I say about the Relax Bar As usual George and Charlotte looked after us in there most helpful and fun loving way, with the help of Maria and the other staff.  They have been running the resturant for the last two years, whilst Vicky and Dimitri have returned to Alykes to run the Jungle bar across the road, and they will always be glad to ssee the old visiters.  They are getting married at the end of the year.  The food at Relax is excellent especially the peppered steak.  Abig congratulations to Jenny who has just given birth in Cyprus, Charlottes henna tatoo buddy from years back.  Will be back to visit you all in 2007.  Definately recommend this resturant!!!!!!

relax was very busy, but not the best restaurant in alikes. it was ok but the service wasn't so hot, the waiter was quite moody and we waited ages for our mains. a bit fumey if you sit by the road too!

Really like this place my GF's lamb was very fatty but my food was great!

just got back from alikes the only place we ate was at RELAX food,service,staff and prices 11/10!!!!!!!!!!!
you must try the greek beef stew,lamb(zakithian style),the menu goes
on and on, so try everything.
very busy so if you have to wait you get a free dring at the local bar and they come and get you when your table is ready
if you decide to go there say hi to all the staff from a couple in
nottingham...........have a great holiday get us a mythos in!!!!!!!

Just got back today from Alykes and only found Relax Restaurant when three days remaining of holiday. The Lemon Chicken was superb as was the Lamb Kleftiko. The service was very quick and friendly with the two Yorkshire waitresses, June and Charlotte always helpful and willing to have a chat. Can really recommend this restaurant and hope to go back to Alykes very soon.

the food in relax was lovely, and very friendly service also. there is another restaurant not listed called 'Olympia' it had fantastic service and lovely food too - i would definitely recommend it also.

We are coming to Alykes again,June 2nd. looking forward to eating with you Vicky and Dimitri, The Relax is one of the best. Vanessa Roger and Tirion. Lillian and Dennis are coming with us this time.

We have just returned from our holiday, staying in Alykanas. We had breakfast in the Relax restaurant in Alykes. The portions were large and came with "real" milk and "real" orange juice (as opposed to what tastes like very strong cordial). You also get a mug of coffee instead of a cup and saucer. It only costs 4 euros and 50 cents. The English waitress was friendly. It's a pity that we were unable to go there every morning for our breakfast.

Good place for people watching ! We had breakfast there on a couple of occasions and were not disappointed ! Although it gets busy there is a good and friendly atmosphere, and although our kids are grown up, it appeared very child friendly, with a good choice on the menu for the young one's. The lemon chicken and the curry chicken were both superb and should be tried if visiting - they were huge portions by the way !! The starter of hummus was delicious. A totally different kind of restaurant to others, but variety is the spice of life ! and this should be tried at least once. We would have gone back, but everytime we passed it was so busy ! Surely this must speak volumes.

Over-rated. The restaurant is noisy and the food was distintly average. We read the comments on this site before going on holiday and felt disappointed that the restaurant did not meet our expectations.

Just got back from Alykes. My boyfriend managed to leave his denim jacket somewhere, can you tell me if it was there????? We sat next to the couple that are always out there and got married there, and you made a joke about it!!!!! Also our mates got engaged, remember???

Food was excellent, catered for children well. Staff friendly and attentive, also reasonable prices. Greek food cooked as it should be.

Don't know if you saw the horseman shouting "ASTA LA VISTA, BABY!" every time he goes past, but he is the owner! Very good. Thumbs up!

Been to Alykes twice now and always eat in Relax. Vicky and Dimitri are very friendly and helpful. I Have fussy children, but they enjoy eating at Relax. I highly recommend the 'roll with chicken salad' for lunch.

Great service and the food was fantastic, try the fried squid it is amazing!!

We ate here a couple of times during our 2 week stay. We found the staff to be very friendly and made you very welcome. Food was excellent and a good variety. Pork chops & apple sauce are a must.

We eat there once and had a nice meal. It was not the fanciest of restaurants but it was good value for money and the staff could not do enough for you.

We wish that we had tried here earlier in the holiday as all the kids ate everything put in front of them ,great for breakfast lunch and dinner

I percieved the commestibles were rather under flavoured with very little
evidence of Hellenic influence. In all my years of eating out, I've never had
such a bad experience in a Taverna - the swordfish tasted of stale ordure.
Moreover, I felt the clientele were of the "savage" variety, the sort of plebian
louts who make me ashamed to be British.

Couldn't get table on previous visits to Alykes, always too busy. Thought this was a good sign and managed it this time. Well worth it food was lovely and lots too! Keep it up and we'll see you next year.

Probably get flamed for this, but here goes. Although the service and the starter were really good, the main course was a let down. The Chicken Souvlaki completely lacked any flavour and tasted more like normal roast chicken. It seemed like it was an 'English' version of a Greek dish, without the usual marinade flavour and tenderness.

We think the service is good and look forward to seeing with you all in September. Loads of love Paul & Chris

Me & the girlfriend ate here twice in the week's holiday. Try their Relax Pizza & Relax Omelette - crammed with toppings. A Relax Pizza meal easily fed two ravenous adults , and washed down with two large beers, cost under 10 Euros.

I went to alykes in summer 2001 n i was just checkin what still goin on there, relax has great food great service and its not expensive. i went six times in 2 weeks, ITS BRILLIANT, WELL WORTH A VISIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very reasonably priced. The milkshakes have real cream in them and are very thick and tasty. Service was excellent - sometimes you have to wait for a table but in my view that's a good sign. Pizzas are great, we also had potted veal, stifado, swordfish etc. The Greek stuff is great. Vicky is very friendly. With a fussy daughter, nothing was too much trouble for these people. I would go again.

I'm looking for information on the Lefsos Aparthotel. No one has mentioned it. Any comments?

Brilliant grub and matched with super service. A nice place and watch the world go by too. Try the saganaki prawns - yummm!!

well when we went on holida we ate at yours 13 out of 14 nites,we love it,an you demitrius and vicky! So if you have any summr jobs going,contact me and sar,we would love to come and work for you!

Ate there at the start of our holiday & right at the end, couldn't find anywhere better in between. The large portions of home made Greek food were great & the service was excellent, speedy & friendly. Relax is aptly named you can take your time over your food & drink & watch the world go by.

All im guna say is try the steak they actually cook it the way u ask unlike lots of other restaurants and its the best ive ever tried isnt alikes great

Had a few English breakfasts there, an evening meal and lunch - all excellent, and lovely fried bread!!! Good value all round, lots of choice on the menu! PS. So Man Utd BEAT Olympiakis (we knew they would !!!) Hope to be back in Alykes soon.

Not very relaxing really as it was so busy everyone was rushing around- service was not that good either. Location on a street corner also meant there was plenty of traffic zooming past and plenty of passersby to watch

We enjoyed our visits to wine & dine. A terrific place to eat and "relax" to watch the world go by,in the company of fine hosts. Left on Tuesday 18th with regret, got back to UK to Cold & Rain. Looking forward to our return. Hope Dimitri's eye gets better soon, he says it was a wasp but Vicky packs a mean right hand!! Note: Watch out for the red house wine. It causes you to fall into pot holes on your way back afterwards!!

Visited this popular resturant many times, children menu available chicken nuggets were enjoyed by the little ones. As for the adult menu JUG VEAL-a complete meal in a pot very filling.BEEF STAFIDO- a rich dish with toms and baby onions. RELAX MIXED GRILL- every thing you can think of ...only if you've got a big appetite. Excellent sweet menu and wine flowing freely.

Relax is an excellent restaraunt which offers a wide range of food to suit everyone. There are excellent tradition greek dishes, my personal favourites being the saganaki cheese and the relax special steak. For dessert there are a range of ice creams, crepes and tradition greek desserts. The one to go for is the relax special ice cream, which is made up of five diffent ice creams and comes with a sparkler on top. Expect to pay around 3500dr (£7) per person for a three course meal.

One of the best meals ( well three actually) we had in two weeks Try the Relax special steak and the Rack of Lamb The home made humous and tzatziki are both great too Try it!!
