Hyia to louie n ike!!

Went on the Rhino Jeep Safari on the 29/06/07. Thought nothing could top the previous "Caretta Caretta" turtle-spotting trip, but we were so wrong!!! Me n my mate had such a good time!! Great info given to us by our friendly aussie driver Ike bout the island, and loved all the jokes ("Can you drive down to the beach?" haha!) It was so much fun bouncing up n down in the bk of the jeep

Well worth buying the dvd too, especially as now im back in rainy wales with all my sheep and need something to cheer me up!!

and by the way, when me n my mate were talking in welsh, we werent winging or moaning, we were talking bout ike's muscles! haha!

In a word, FANTASTIC!

Myself and my Mum had an absolute fantastic time on the jeep discovery, it is by far the best excursion that Zakynthos offers, it is so much fun and you get to see some fantastic sights.

  My husband and I went on the Jeep Safari Sat 23rd June, Julian was brilliant and very informative took us to some great places spectacular views of the island best way to see it, and good off road even if I did have my eyes shut. Would recommend, we are in our fifties and had a great day out.

The jeep safari was the best day out i had views were amazing and julien was what made it gona put some pictures of our day when i get round to it. I would definatley reccomend this trip out as a first not only to see the island for what it is but to get the best info on how to make the most of your time spent on your holiday i will be in touch your friends from the north (hartlepool) and south HAVANT you know who we are hope alls well see ya soon mate happy days

just thought i'd write a message for ya, see if ya remember me  i think im random enough to have left at least a bit of an impression!

i was on the jeep safari on friday 8th and ike was my driver! i absolutely loved it especially the off road driving, i cant think of many things that are more fun than that! your knowledge of the island and the plants was just amazing and i had an amazing day despite the fact that i was wearing jeans and my black t-shirt in the sun!

seein ike with his top off has gota be one of the more enjoyable aspects  lovley bod  lol!

I went on this last week with Zante insight safari (booked by lazaros apartments, tsilivi)...i have to say what a fantastic day it wwas, from start to finish!! Julians a great driver, a great laugh and very knowledgable...

I wasn't sure what to expect, but got to see the sights many from places you wouldn't get to go normally...go offroading which was ace, be prepared to move around, but just adds to the fun

Louis, your driving was something to be remembered for a long time to come. The bruises are just going.  Had a fantastic day out, the views were amazing.  Still waiting to see the dvd, and relive those moments again.  I would recommend this trip to anyone who is adventurous.

its that time of year again folks only 4 weeks till the start of the season and my god i cant wait.I just hope all you folks are ready to as its gonna be a great year with many new faces and friends . We went on the safari in October, and it was a great experience my 10year old Daniel was all for canceling the day before as he had competitions in the Hotel Bitzaro Grande.  With much persuasion we did go even my 76 year old Mum who has a knee replacement recently.  I must say that Louis was a fantastic guide and what a laugh he gave us all!! If you read this message board Louis I wanted to give you this big X from us all.  Hope you have a good Xmas and a great New Year. Was a great day out!! got to see the island in a new & different way. myself (mike) & mischa would like to thanks all the guys on the safari and especially IKE. he was full of interseting stories, useful information and was a soond lad. cant remember date of tour but was the last 2 weeks in sept. cheers again. its worth doing folks !!

we done your trip on Wednesday the 18th of october 2006 and it was our highlight of our holiday! Not only did we have the Gorgeous Ike to drive us about but it was a wicked day! The day was beautiful and a amazing experiance. This was the best day of our holiday and highly reccomend other familys to experiance this (even better if you get Ike!).

We hope to see you again one day thanks again for a wicked day for us to remember. Good luck in the future all our love Donna and Sophie (remember us??).

A Huge THANK YOU to Julian our driver and to Jason who we booked directly with before we left Scotland.

Our Jeep Safari was on Tuesday 10^th October 2006.  It was a cool 22 degrees for you guys but for us Scots a pleasant sunny 22 degrees!

 My husband and I and our children ages 11 and 9 had an unforgettable day out.  The whole trip lived up to our expectations!  IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!

The view from the platform overlooking the shipwreck was amazing (just like in the postcards without the cruise boats or people on the beach).

What more can I say other than Julian with his unique style of driving was the perfect guide.  He made the day out entertaining and fun as well as informative.

Moment of the day was to see Julian’s face when shortly into the trip the young couple sitting at the back of the jeep managed to pull the inside roof safety handle bar completely off! As Julian was unable to fix it they ended up having a scarier ride experience than the rest of us!

I booked the jeep safari even though my 8 year old son was adamant he didn't want to go - then we met our drivers for the day - Ike and Louis - what a fantastic day - thoroughly enjoyed by all (including my son who then decided it was the best day of his holiday!!).  The locations visited and the running commentary from the guys was great - would more than recommend anybody do this trip - thanks Ike and Loius for a fab day,

This was a fantastic trip to go on! Our jeep driver Demitri was cool. A really good way to see the island. We had 2 stop points, the first beach we stopped at was gorgeous, and the sea was so blue! Had to cope the rest of the trip with a wet skirt though from swimming in the sea! The meal we had at the restaurant (can't remember the name - sorry!) was lovely. The food was great and the service was excellent, also we were sat right next to the sea to eat. Would recommend this trip, although we did think it was a bit pricey. As to the rankings below, the 'comfort factor' is only low because you can't expect comfort whilst sat in the back of a defender! it didn't spoil the trip though! Oh one tip tho, don't drink the night before!!

we went to Laganas for a week in September.  We intended to do lots of excursions and i must say that Jeep Safari was the best day of our holiday. We really enjoyed it! Had such a lovely time with Loui, Stu and Ike. Ike was our driver, he was absolutly fab!!

now this was wicked..shame the weather wasn't that brill which refrained us from doing a few things and was over priced, no meal or drink included!!

Anyway..let's go and rock and roll in the mountains LMAO

An absolutely fantastic day out!! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to explore the parts of Zante that the tourist buses and cruises can't show you!

This definitely was the highlight of our holiday, thanks especially to Julian for giving us a taster of what he can really do in a Land Rover!!

The Jeep Discovery crew give excellent value for money in sights and entertainment - they cruise the trails others refuse.  Ike is an excellent guide and good ranconteur - he, like the safari is full of surprises - very funny, good music tastes and a font of information - quite remarkable for an Aussie!!.  No wories mate!!  My fourth time to the island and I saw sights I had never seen before.  Just wish my camera could record sound Ike was saying 'just push it in harder' to Stu whilst Louis was tightening his nuts on this shot of them changing the wheel.  The memory was priceless.  Will do it again next year.

Hi Julian,  thanks for a fantastic day.  Julian our driver for the day,  is a mad man, he sure knows how to drive!!!  We saw some great sights and the off roading was absolutely brilliant.  My husband and I were the only ones sat in the rear of the Land Rover so we were not squashed.  Hope to see you when we return to Kalamaki. INSIGHT is the name of the tour company, so book with them when looking at going on the JEEP Safari.  Just one last thing to say to Julian  P**TAS.  Ha Ha!!!! Remember us now.  Norma & Derek.   Have you had the tatoo finished yet!!!!

Our driver, Alan, was hilarious and really made the trip worthwhile.  His knowledge of the island was really interesting and the off road driving was great.  The only downside was that the back of the jeep felt a bit crapmed, with 9 of us in there.  The restraurant where we went for lunch was stunning.  Maybe the 50 Euros cost was a bit steep with lunch being an extra.

Overall I would definitelky recommend this trip to anyone, a great way to see the island!

We booked with Thomas cook, but after reading other comments i wish we booked with another local guides. The whole day was absolutely brilliant and our driver Allan was fantastic. plenty of wonderful sights to see and the off road bit was great ( girls wear a stirdy bikini or bra my boobs were flying everywhere). Only reservation was value for money as it costs 50 euro you get dropped of for meal but meal was not included in price and it was an extra 10 euro to go out to the blue caves. But overall we loved it and would definately do it again.

Excellent trip worth the money. All 3 drivers were brilliant especially our driver Julian. enjoyed the day from beginning to end as on the same wave length as Julian. If your up for some mad driving and seeing different views of the Island then the Jeep Safari with Zante Insight is definately worth doing. We will definalety do it again when we go back. Me and my mate Kerry went on the Jeep safari a couple of weeks back with Julian (gorgeous) , it was fantastic, had a total scream!!! would defo go again if i was back in Zante.  I just laughed and SCREAMED the whole way, our driver was sooooooooooooo funny.

Hello i came on your jeep safari last week. Friday 15th of September. The Australian tour Guide Ike was good fun and very informative. Although i was not on his jeep i was with Louie i still enjoyed the day. I have been watching the video and re lived some happy memories. It would be nice to come on the safari again sometime.I had a good laugh with the crew and if any of them would like to email me i would love to hear from them. Pam

Adam and I went on the Rhino jeep safari (yellow jeeps) on Saturday 16/09/06.  Our driver was called Ikes and we were also accompanied by another jeep with Louis as the driver.  These 2 guys tour the island as a team and so therefore the experience becomes more personal as the groups are smaller.  The knowledge that these 2 guys have of the island is amazing.  The swim stops were brilliant and the food was fantastic on the lunch stop.  This trip is excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about the island of Zante.  The beauty is that you can relax whilst somebody else does the driving.  You also get the chance to taste local produce and wine along the way!!

I'd like to say sorry to jullian as ive no idea why i kept calling u justin in that essay, all i can say is perhaps i was having a blonde moment again!!!!(If you remember about the grapes , toilets an wells ull understand) you where both still great

We went on the safari on 8th sept 2006 an had a fantastic day. jason our driver was really cool, imformative , funny ,a great driver and not 2 mention fit!!!! I will never forget Justin the other driver's face when we stopped in keri to firstly change poor jasons puncture(which was a laugh trying to get garages to repair!!!)Secondly when the barman repaid him for a previous prank!!! Barman made him an iced coffee an put tabasco down the straw, was so funny if i could of stopped laughing i would of taken a picture, suprised i didnt wee myself !!!The sites that we saw we very nice an both jason and justin knew there stuff!!! I especially liked the part when we went off road, jasons driving was great but the poor lady in front obviously hadnt been on a jeep safari before.When shed calmed down an we were on are way back she needed the loo so she got to meets his parents, (on the 1st date 2!!!!!! was gutted i hadnt said yes when he asked!!! Her husband was cool with it!!!) If you read this hope the rest of your hols were fab. I wanted a pic of jason but when i went to take 1 the battery on my camera had ran out was bit gutted. so if anyone has one pleasse put it on here!!!!! Anyway all in all it was a fab day very interesting in an entertainiing way was great and id definately go again!! Oh an i thik it was about 38 euros well worth it!!keep up the good work jason and justin!!

We had a lovely holiday 13th to 27th August 06. We stopped in the Villa Zelika in Kilomenos which was just at the beginning of the dirt track to the Monastery. Why did the jeeps always stop here to have a look? We felt like Goldfish in a bowl somewtimes!! Tank You

we took 4 excursions in the two weeks we were there and this was definately the best. We had William as our driver and he was informative and to say you are in the back of the jeep for a while i had no complaints and it was fairly comfy. I would definately recommend it to anyone as the views are breath taking

Hi guys! What a great time we had with you's last week (16th Aug 06). Our driver Bill was not as mad as the others, but it was a fantastic day out . We were able to see some fantastic sights and parts of the island that you are unable to see on foot.  Trust me it was well worth the the money, if you want the best go with ZANTE INSIGHT JEEP SAFARI  you can find them at PELARGOS TOURS. As long as you dont mind getting a bit dusty cos you will love the off roading they do.

     It was brilliant, this is the best trip i have ever been on. We booked with Zante Insight and our driver was the one and only Julian. This guy is excellant, brilliant driver made this a day to remember. I think the adults enjoyed it as much as the kids. If you enjoy getting wet and dusty then do not miss this trip. Thanks julian.

Brilliant, best excursion I have ever been on, anywhere. Ian was outstanding not quite as mad or scary as Julian or Jason, exactly what we wanted. Julian and Jason are complete nutters but amazing drivers. A party of 6, ages teenage to late 40s, all found it awesome. Highlight of the holiday, thanks to all. Be prepared to get wet!!!!

If you only do one thing on Zante make sure it is the jeep safari with Insight. Justin & Jason are great fun and really made our day. It's a hold on to your hats and stomach ride. Worth every penny and got us out of the stinking Laganas for the day. Y.I.Pet.

2006 Driver of the Year

Oh MY GOD! This Jeep Safaari will make your legs tremble! Zante Insight are the only guys to go with, you get great water-fights and a few good nights out too! Jason a.k.a. George Clooney a.k.a.Gerasimos showed us his Grandpa, and What can i say about Julian?! we have too many photos to post! best day ever! until we nearly ran jason over in Volimes the day we hired a scooter out! You should have seen his face!

i went on a jeep safari with zante insight in july 2005. it was amazing, jason is the best. anyway, im coming back in september and im deffinetly going one one again! /rte/tongue.gif

We did not know what to expect from our safari trip in zante as we are not the sight seeing type but we loved it!! The drivers Jason and Marek were hilarious, down to earth guys and really interesting too,especially when forcing shots of 19% alchol wine down your throats. Also made friends with four lovely people, especially Mick n Sherie from Leeds, what lovely people! Julian said that he loved his job and never got bored, he highly reccomended it to us and now we know what he meant. Would reccomend this trip to anyone, any age.Would definately do it again but be prepared for the bumpy ride! Thanks again guys and may see you next year!!!

We went on Safari on 11/7/2006 with zante insight, our driver was Julian.

The experience was brilliant and we would highly and happily recommend this company to friends, family and strangers alike!!!  All of the guides are only to keen to explain anything that you may wish to know. Their jeeps are maintained and looked after by english law so you know they are safe ( not like some of the sheds that you see driving round the island). 

If you get the oppertunaty ride with Julian aka the nutter a name that he has gained through great driving skill, at least that what he calls it! and if you wouldn't mind, give him a slap and tell him thats from Chris, I am sure he will remember me!!!!!!!!!!!!

We would not have missed this for the world.  We had a Greek driver (Dennis) who was mad as a hatter and so funny, he also took us to some amazing places.  Worth every penny.

On the 1^st July 2006 we went on the Zante Insight jeep safari  and had a fantastic time we would like to say thank you to Jason who was a fantastic tour guide and made the day interesting as well as fun while he showed us parts of the island that we would never have seen.

hi everyone,thats some pictures of what we do this year!

 We booked the trip through Tassos and Georgia who were great treated us like we were friends which made the whole experience great, We booked many trips through them and all were great.

The jeeps were a great way to see the whole island would do them again if we could Jason was our driver he taught us loads of greek and was very knowlegable about the island and the sights we visited we really felt we got to know him well and he took time to learn all our names which was nice the water fights we had that day were great and acted as great icebreakers with the rest of the group plus cooled us down on a hot day.

We would recomend the trip to any one who visits Zante as you will see parts of the island that you thought you would never see make sure you book with Zante insight for the best deals

We went on the jeep safari on the 9th June.  It was fantastic.  Our guide, Tassos, was the best guide, he made the whole trip so funny.  He even stopped off at the side of one of the mountain fields and let us pick cherries off a tree (not so sure we were supposed to but hey!).  We saw some fantastic places and went on some really bumpy roads which is what a jeep safari is all about!

The Jeep Safari is excellent!!!!!! It is the best excursion in Zante. Make sure you book to go on a Tuesday or Thursday to stand a chance of going with the best tour guide called IKE. Unlike the rest of the tour guides, he goes off on his own and takes us all around the island giving us hands on experience!

 Zante insight jeep safari is the best !!Had a fab day really glad we had the mad man Julian as our driver (honestly!!!!) and not just watching him from a distance. A really great way to see the island loads of info about the places we visited. All 3 drivers were really friendly and a little bit mad but that made for a great day. Excellent entertainment for all the family!!

We all had a great day and Ike told us alot about the island and took us to some fantastic places you would never think to drive to.  The price made it possible for us to do the trips we wanted to do, unlike if we had booked through our tour operator.  So, Ike Thanks for as great day.

we booked our trip through hot lips which was great value our driver was ike and he was great he looked after us talks to you alot : he is really friendly and i would highly reccomend people to book through hot lips the karakoe and resturant and ioke i will put my pic on the well thing if i can find it lol    love leanne

 This is a great day out. We booked the Jeep Discovery through the rep. I would advise doing this as their Jeeps seem bigger than the ones for Zante Insight - they all seemed squashed in when we saw them at the Shipwreck but all go to the same places anyway.

if you want to experience a truly great day out, get yourself on a "Zante insight " jeep safari, based in Tsilivi,  there are others but these guys are the best!, Julian , Jason and Marek are great guys and know the island like the back of their hand!, and will take you to places none of the other companies go to. No one should miss Julian's sideways driving!!!!!, hang on and be prepared to scream!!.

Believe me, this is a definate MUST DO, while in Zante, these drivers definately rock, a damn good laugh, very knowledgeable, you see some amazing sites. Our drivers were Julian and Marick, you could not wish for a nicer pair,  nothing was too much trouble for these pair. Well worth it.

We booked our jeep safari through our rep ( more expensive but due to being the first week of season most of the tour shops hadn't opened yet!!). This is a must do. Our guide and driver was called Dennis (it had to be really!) and he was superb. You get to see the island like you wouldn't do any other way. We went in a closed top jeep, pretty dusty about so quite grateful for that! Money very well spent... our best day there!!! saw lots, ate lots... a great day.

We were jeep discovery adventure junkies with ikes oct 2005, it was the best day of our holiday. We would highly recomend you experience this excursion. The scenery, the food, the places you visit all fantastic, ikes humour !!! yeah fantastic aswell. The only thing that lets it down is they don't do this in Gran Canaria and we're going their this year.Give it a go you'll have a great day.

Hi Kerri, lots of different 'jeep' safaris operate on Zakynthos now so be careful what you ask for. Some are open top, some are closed; some are guided, some are not. If you want to book an open top 4x4 tour online, then go to www.zanteholidays.com who can arrange it all for you.

How do you go about booking the safari and do they pick up from Alykanas?  I'm going in September this year and would love to go on it.

I went on one while in Zante with my family and friends, In July 2005. Me and my 2 friends Leah and Kirsty loved it so much! it was my first time, but Leah and Kirsty had been on plenty. They told me to wear a bandana. You should! it stops you being choked by dust. Jason was our driver and he rocked! We had water fights and it was amazing. Another person who was on holiday with us was sick on the jeep safari, Robert. He's fine now though

I'm coming back to Zante this June. And i'll be going on a jeep safari again!

We booked at the last minute at hot lips bar (go there its great), our driver ike can be found there. We had the best day of any holiday with him. He was extremely well infomed as well as keeping us all entertained all day.   We would all do this trip again if we ever return to Zante

After working overseas for six years, i though id seen it all before when it came to Jeep Safari's. I'd done at least 7 or 8 and wasnt really bothered when our Driver 'Julian' turned up. How wrong i was. In all my 27 years i have never known anything like it! seriously!!!!  As a day excursion, i learnt so much about the Island, people, culture, gastronomy! As a safari, it really was nailbiting for the first hour or so, until i realised that the driver (Julian) was in 100% control. I will be going back to Zante. Not because i like it any better than anywhere else. But ive got to show my mate's this excursion, with this driver. 'Thanks again Julian. Your not on this planet mate.'    Do this safari !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a great day out on the discovery jeep safari on 24/10/05. Ike our driver was knowledgeable and very entertaining. This trip was well worth the money, the places we visited were fantastic with veiws to die for. Many thanks Ike for a great day .  Carol and Christine   Portsmouth uk

Well worth the money. Don't book with your holiday company rep -  more expensive - we booked through Eurosky - thanks to Karen.

Julian you are F**KING CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

If you are going to do one excursion on your holiday make sure it is the Jeep Safari!!!  An absolutely fantastic experience!  The bouncing up and down in the jeep along some slightly dusty tracks may be slightly uncomfortable, but you wont really notice this due to the fantastic views you'll see and the constant laughs your guides will give you!  Jason and Kostas were brilliant!  Fun and knowledgable with a sarcastic sense of humour means this is a day not to be missed! The day was such fun that it was a rush at the end and I didn't get an email address for Jason so if anybody is still in contact with him or if anyone reads this before they go on this excursion, please could you pass his email address on to me and tell him that the mad half greek/half english girl who tormented him throughout the day hasn't finished yet!! LOL Geia sou!  xxx

Jeep Safari was the best excursion we went on, we had a guide called Julian and he was mad as a hatter!  we saw lots of the island and he filled us with lots of information about different towns.  We got a good view of the ship wrek, tasted wine, and went for a swim in the sea. But best of all we liked the off road driving. We thought this trip was good value for money.

It was a well organised and great day out. The scenery was awesome. Went up the highest mountain on Zante, went to the site of the 12 wells (and drunk out of it), drove through some ancient towns, went to the sulphur springs, but best of all thought was a cliff top walk to get an awesome view of smugglers cove (Much better then the boring platform view!) Will never forget it. Well worth every penny and look forward to doing it again on another holiday. Well done Zakfari team!

Our day on the jeep safari was a fanatastic day. As i'm sure Jason will remember, I was the one screaming in the back and holding on for dear life!!!! We were there mid august. There was six in our jeep (Steve, Karen, Peter and Susan the Irish ones who kept is laughing, and.myself Sue and daughter Nichola, who had the most amazing time.) The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and the swimming was amazing. Full compliments to our guides Jason and Julian. We have never laughed so much as we did that day. The thrill of the drive was awesome and we would definitely do it again.

 WE HAVE STAYED AT ZANTE 3 TIMES A YEAR FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS, ALWAYS AT TSILIVI. IT IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE DONE THE JEEP SAFARI, I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT WE HAVE MISSED OUT ON. A BRILLIANT FUN DAY OUT FOR JUST 40 EUROS. TIM AND JASON ARE MAD, MAKE SURE YOU GET THESE GUYS, THEY WILL MAKE IT A DAY TO REMEMBER. WE ARE COMING BACK IN OCTOBER AND WILL BE BOOKING AGAIN!

THIS DAY WAS BREATHE TAKING STUNNING VIEWS AND LOVELY PEOPLE SHOWING YOU AROUND, THE MOUNTAIN LOOKING OVER LAGANA WAS OUR FIRST STOP { AT THE TOP} WE SAW TURTLES SWIMMING BELOW US THIS DAY IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY AND MORE. WE ALSO WENT TO A LOCAL VINE YARD WHERE WE ALL SAMPLED A BOTTLE OR TWO, LOL , THE DRIVER PULLED OVER A FEW TIMES TO GET ORANGES AND LEMONS FROM TREES OR US TO EAT.THE VIEW FROM THE PLATEFORM LOOKING OVER SMUGGLERS WAS BREATHE TAKING I COULDNT BELIEV HOW BLUE THIS WATER WAS I HAVE LOADS OF PHOTOS OF IT. CAN NOT GO TO ZANTE WITHOUT SEEING THE SHIP WRECK

What are the prices for a Jeep safari and can you book in Argassi? Do Tim and Jason take bookings from Argassi?

'Bruised fingers day'! We were really looking forward to this since people had said it was the most popular thing to do on the island, and we certainly were not disappointed. its by far one of the best things i've done anywhere, you get to see so much and although its quite tiring, its worth it.

anyway overall i had a great time and will definatly go on a jeep safari again!!

   just to let you know we had a great day out on the jeep safari infact it was 1 of the best days of the holiday it was that good we are going back to greece nxt year for two weeks this time and we are planning on doing the jeep safari each week we are there .you get to see some great sites while on it and also learn about zante too.and also the off road part was GREAT well worth the money we paid .PPL if you planning a holiday go to greece and do the jeep safari with tim and jason you wont regret it trust me its the BEST .ive put some pics up for you all to look at hope you like them .

We all had a great day out with these two mad guys (even after Jason told us he nearly turned out to be a serial killer!)  Pat still thinks it was a cucumber not a walnut!!! Blonde!!!   Seriously a trip not to be missed had a fantasic time, you both made it a fun day out for all!  Not only a fun day but learnt alot about Zante.  If there was any changes to be made lunch at a different restaurant as waiters did not know how to smile.  They could learn a thing or too from Jason and Tim!!!!  Fantastic value for money, suitable for all ages.  Well done lads!
