Dannys Kali Pigi Hotel

Just got back this morning, and me and my boyyfriend had an amazing holiday! To all those who didn't like the cooking facilities, they served there purpose and the prices round the area are so cheap anyways, why would you want to stay and eat in?! Top holiday, would recommend to anybody!!

further to my story below, my credit card company have written to me explaining that she cannot supply any proof of the purchase (surprise surprise) and therfore i win.

this was our second time here, last week of july, first week Aug, again great. New bar staff from our last visit, nice couple. We had a great room on the top floor, excellent view over pool and hills. Had a horrendous thunderstorm Sat of the second week, never seen rain or lightning like it, cleared PM and thereafter excellent weather. Again the restaurant Alkyonis was brilliant, had lobster for Karens birthday, the best. Alykanas beach is a must, go to the left side, better layout, tho 8 euros a day for sunbeds.
We have already booked for July 04, counting the days!

We were really lucky and got a great room overlooking the pool and had a great view. Nice rooms, nice area round by pool, nice pool (lots of kins though!) and really handy for centre of Alykanas. Watch out for the maid though, had to do battle to get clean towels and new toliet roll despite best efforts of leaving finished toliet roll in various places in room as a clue! We found she responds best to males - bit of an eye for the men I think! Avoid supermarket where possible, the woman in there tends to get bored and makes up the prices as she goes along just to entertain herself I think!!

further to comment below, my card statement has arrived today with the transaction still on it. i have had to cancel the direct debit and pay the bill for the other GENUINE transactions. i rang the card company to tell them the story and they will contact Mrs Danny. Watch this space.........

Can't actually speak for the apartments as never stayed there but beware The Supermarket if buying cigarettes on a credit card. I went there and asked if i could pay by VISA and she replied "yes of course" and pointed to the swipe machine, i then placed the goods on the counter whilst quickly adding up in my head what i would owe. I got a figure of 294 Euros in my head which was exactly the same as the till said when she rang in the purchase. Not another word was said by the assistant as she took my card and swiped it, then presented me with a receipt to sign for 318 Euros!!. Suddenly my transaction was 24 Euros more than i (and the till) thought. When i questioned this all she could say (in suspiciously bad English)was "8% bank, 8% bank". I said to her it was 2% everywhere else but all i got was a shrug of the shoulders and "too late, you must pay". I wrote "cancelled" on the line where i should have signed but she refused to cancel the swipe machine or do a refund even though no goods were removed by me nor did i sign anything. I asked for both copies of the card receipt as i saw no reason whatsoever to leave my card details as no purchase was made, she again refused. When i took both copies, she ran round the counter and snatched it back off me and placed it in the till and shut the drawer. I made it very clear that i would not be leaving the shop without the VISA details so she rang her son who could speak better English and we went through the whole story again. In the end she threatened to call the police, which was ok by me and i was happy to wait for their arrival ( she didn't). Incredibly, she insisted on BURNING both copies of the receipt which she did in front of me, why she had to burn mine i'm not sure. So, even though nobody will tell you that you will be charged an extra 8% and no signs are up warning of this, let me tell you it is 8% at Danny's and 2-3% everywhere else. Ironically enough i ended up paying 0% in another supermarket simply because i was a regular shopper there and they were happy to take my hundreds of Euros.

WE HAVE BOOKED IONNIS AND DANNYS APARTMENTS, IN SEPTEMBER. CAN ANYONE TELL US WHAT THE ROOMS ARE LIKE? WE HAVE BOOKED 2 ROOMS BOTH WILL HAVE A FAMILY OF 2 ADULTS AND 2 CHILDREN. WILL WE HAVE ENOUGH ROOM. DOES ANYONE HAVE PICTURES? WOULD BE GREATFUL IF ANYONE CAN PUT OUR MINDS AT REST.

have stayed at the kali pigi for the last 7 years and have found it excellent for friendliness and cleanliness. great breakfast and i do believe that sue welcomes all argos customers. great location easy for the beach and bars .

We had our first holiday together here in july 2002, we met some really nice people and got on very well with all the locals. The apartments are cleaned regularly (but watch out for the maids, who seemed to like adam!) The bar staff were great, pool was lovely and rooms were everything we needed. You've gotta try the La Caretta restaurant while youre there, the blokes on the door are so amusing!
Definately recommended, 5* holiday.

We stayed at the Kali Pigi last June and had fabulous time. I have contacted Direct Holidays who inform me that they are not doing it ths year. Friends we met on holiday rang before xmas and told us it was with Direct. Does anybody know who is dealing with the Kali Pigi this year as we would love to return there this year.

We loved it at Danny's, very quiet, very clean, pool excellent, Avril and Dave on the snack bar very pleasant,Armando in Danny's bar is just mad but brill. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Met some lovely people who hopefully will remain friends for a long time. Cara Dave Ian Copestick Wilmorton Derby Ian enjoyed his birthday whilst there, he became a teenager.

First time in Greece and we will be returning.The resort was very relaxing and the hotel we could not fault.Rooms were cleaned every day and all staff were very helpful and friendly.Pool area was very clean and the whole accomadation was spotless.There was a very good atmosphere at the hotel.

My first holiday to Greece and it was great. I will won't to go again next year. Busters bar was great. The people there are great and the apartment was great. We just got back. Cheap as well.

Both myself and my boyfriend had our 3rd holiday at these appartments, just got back October 2nd 2002. This last time was a bit of a let down as my boyfriend had all his money,for the night taken from Dannys bar, everything was denied, and, as regulars 'we found the young bar mans dishonesty ruined the rest of our holiday. The appartments seemed to be in need of repair, we had a sewage leek in ours which concerned us!We will definately go back to this island, however not to Dannys appartments.

WE STAYED IN SEPTEMBER AND FOUND THE LOCATION QUITE AND PEACEFULL APART FROM THE FACT THAT THE APARTMENT THAT WE WERE SITUATED IN WAS RIGHT OPPOSITE THE BAR AND THE MUSIC DIDN'T STOP UNTIL FIVE O'CLOCK SOME MORNINGS. AVRIL AND DAVID IN THE POOL BAR MADE US FEEL VERY WELCOME. THE LOCAL SUPERMARKET WAS EXPENSIVE AS WERE THE SINGLE TEA BAGS BEING SOLD! ALTHOUGH WE WERE KEPT AWAKE WE ARE RETURNING IN MAY AND WE WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU URGE THE TRAVEL AGENT FOR AN APARTMENT AT THE REAR OF THE COMPLEX. OVERALL WE ENJOYED OUR HOLIDAY! PS AMONDO(BAR MAN) WAS A GEEK! HA HA HA

In answer to query re brochure, we booked through Direct Holidays 2002. It will appear in the next edition of the 2003 brochure. It's not in the earlier edition but I have phoned the hotel and Sue confirms contracts have been signed now so will be included in the next publication.

First time to Zante had a great time thanks to Sue Nicos Denis & anna. Hotel was brilliant room, pool, bar couldnt fault it. The holiday rep Beccy was a star the most helpfull of reps ive encountered so far on my holidays

We stayed here for two weeks from 18th July.We had one of the studios facing Danny's bar and found it very noisy at night.One morning you could hear people in the bar at 5-00am.With it being very warm we had to eventually close the glass doors to get some sleep.We never went in the pool as you couldn't get in for kids & if you wanted a sun lounger you had to be up at 6-00am to get one as there were some very sad people up at that time putting their towel's down.We went to the Levante pool or the Zeus pool which were a lot more quieter. The Airtours rep did not have a clue what she was doing.One of the plus things was that the cleaner's were in everyday washing the floor & emptying the bins.We won't be going back here again.

Stayed at Ionnis and Dannys apartments for 2 weeks. We found it was a nice, friendly, family run complex. Everything we needed was available (pool, snack bar, bar). It was very clean, with maids in daily. They changed the sheets/towels every three days. My advice to anyone going is to hire fan as soon as you get there. As it gets very hot and stuffy during the night. It is a beautiful area to stay in. My family had the best holiday ever!

Have just returned home. Had a fantastic time at Kali Pigi Hotel, Thanks to Sue, Nicos, Denis and Anna. Very friendly and very clean. First time in Greece and Zante and would definitely return to Kali Pigi. We were just a couple, no kids for the first time in years and hotel was ideal, very relaxing.

HELP - My wife, myself and two kids (2 and 4) hope to be there late August/ Early September. A couple of things: Is the accomodation large enough for the four of us? How often are towel and sheets changed? Is there enough to keep the kids going for two weeks? Food and drink price?

Superb bar, run by VERY friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble, great food too. You'll have a fab time here...!

IM TRYING TO BOOK IONNIS AGAIN BUT TRAVEL AGENTS SAYING IT DOSENT SLEEP 5 WHEN I KNOW IT DOSE I HAVE SLEEP THERE ENOUGH TIMES

We travelled abroad for the first time with children (aged 6 & 9), the 6 year having a physical disability. The hotel - and resort - proved perfect for our needs: There were no stairs to our room and everthing that we required to make our stay enjoyable was to hand.The standard of the accomodation was above what I had been told to expect, and cleaned & maintained to a very high standard.

Stayed at Kali Pigi again june 2001. Great hotel for anyone. Staff couldn't be more helpful and freindly. Location ideal for beach and local amenities. Highly Recommended. Lynne Fletcher

Whilst we did not stay at the Hotel in May 2000, we did make use of the bar and swimming pool on several days during our stay in Alykanas. The Hotel was well located, near to the main street of Alykanas, so very short walks to Tavernas & Restaurants in Alykanas.

Stayed at Kali Pigi Hotel summer 2000, a great family holiday all the staff were plesent and very friendly a great place to relax and close to the beach and all the local amenities,All your and your children's needs are well catered for. If I ever went back to Zante this is the place i'd go to stay to again and again.
