I'm out there on my own for 2 weeks from 2nd June. I usually go with my teenage daughter but now she's 18 she's going to Alikanas in August with her boyfriend. We never really had any trouble but then she never really left my side too much. Depending what your daughter is like, you may need to keep a tight hold!!!!
Tipsy Toad is almost opposite Millenium Pool (or thereabouts).
I stayed at Millennium apartments last year and they're really nice. Bath with shower above, very clean, quiet, air con, great position. Anything else you need to know, ask away.
Still as good as ever but it has been renamed as Gecko's (change in ownership).
Mill Bar spot-on this season as usual. Best breakfasts and lunches we had (and we tried a few )
One of the best bars with great drinks. Order a cocktail to see Sakis in action
If you like your drinks strong, this is the place. Jane sure pours a mean Vodka and coke.
I've had quite a few meals here and never had a bad one. My friend had Zakynthian Chicken every time as it was so good. Lamb with mint sauce was very tasty. Free half kilo of wine with your meal.
Great swordfish steak. Cheese & bacon pototo skins starter really tasty and enough for 3!
Usually have really nice food here but had Steak a la creme (special board) and it was so tough that I couldn't eat it. They were concerned that I'd not eaten the meal and my friend told them why but we still had to pay for it, didn't even get offered a reduction or a drink. My friend's meal was good though.
Only had lunch here - what a location - I could have sat for hours admiring the view.
Along with Memories, this was our favourite restaurant this year. Garlic prawn starter, Lamb au fournou (sp?), grilled prawns, meatballs and lots more. Never a bad meal. And the waiters are lovely.
Lovely clean beach with sunbeds and parasols for hire. Beware, nudists use the beach at each end. Bit of a treck up and down the slope if the weather is really hot. Free parking outside small supermarket. Taverna at the top quite good.
Quite small beach, very clean, Didn't have to walk out very far before you could swim. Taverna okay although more expensive that we were used to. Use of toilets (didn't flush) and covered parking area.
Spent the day here after starting out on a walk from Alikanas on a cloudy day that suddenly turned sunny - luckily we took our beach gear!!!
I've been to Alykanas about 18 times but only went on this trip for the first time last year, it's a good, fun outing. Say Hi to Brenda from me!
Kevin & Maria are in Dionysis (next door) this year.
I think there is someone called Almando working at Alkyonis (he was also serving behind the bar at Gecko's later).
Very good Paul
Still one of the best restaurants in the resort and probably the cheapest.
Superb food, superb staff - what more can I say?
Compare the cost of living in the UK now to what it was 2 years ago - I think you'll find the price rises in Alykanas are about the same. Also, the strong Euro hasn't helped us Brits with our budgets. I think you would find the same problems wherever you travel in Europe.
Danny's but there's not much difference really, they're all a bit of a walk.
Jane can be found in Zeus at night being her usual entertaining self or during the day at Pepe's (sp?) outside Catacombs. Also doing Sunday lunch at Zante Gardens. Unless it's all changed from a couple of weeks ago.
