i am writing on behalf of a friend who stayed in the gazebo at the start of june 2004 for two weeks, and did not have a good experience of the gazebo inn, but enjoyed the resort of argassi itself!
the room was dark and very cramped even though it was a double room with only one person staying in it! it was also invested with ants, which had nested in the wooden doorframes! when they ventured out they got allover! in the sugar and foods, even into the fridge! there was only one very small cupboard in the room and only one towel was provided in the room per week!
i recommend the gazebo inn for couples who are planning to spend most of the time away from the apartments. a good point though, is that the beach is just across the road!
BURNLEY.
The Gazebo was lovely it was basic but very clean .Daniel the owner was very friendly and couldn't do enough to help .I would recommend you hire a fan it will cost 15 euros a week and also the same price for a safety deposit box .The advantage for me was that we were clod=se to everything (you roll out of bed and on to the beach ) but the disadvantage was that our apartment faced onto the main road and it can be very noisy as the greeks go about on mopeds .I would deffo go back and recommend the gazebo to anyone wanting to visit zante
Just come back from Argassi, had a fantastic time and hoep to go back in September, would definately reccommend the Gazebo, clean apartments with everything you need. Pool at the windmill is good, never have to fight for a sunbed and the pool bar is good also.
Daniel is great and really helpful if you need anything, look out Daniel we are coming back to see you, will be in contact to book a room. (yes it will the be the 4 of us crazy girls to wake up the neighbourhood!)
very basic but it perfect if its just used as a stopping point to enjoy the island and the main land, twin beds, wardrobe, fridge with a cool box, sink and utensils all provided, bathrooms good with the usuall features. safety deposit box is in the room costs 15euros a week, also recomend a fan costs the same..
Being situated about 3 mins walk from the centre of town gives a welcome degree of peace and quiet. Our room (No. 18) had twin singles, a wardrobe, table and chair, a bedside table with draws and individual bedside lights. In the corner was a small kitchette comprising a two ringed electric cooker, a decent sized fridge (with freezer section) a selection of cutlery and plates/cups etc. The room was clean and tidy and during the week we were there (19 - 26 June 2003) the maid gave it one full make over plus 3 or 4 visits to empty the bins (those Mythos beer bottles get everywhere!). Outside the bedroom we had our own balcony area with tables and chairs and even a washing line. The bathroom had a shower, a wash hand basin, a towel rail and a low level WC. The ONLY drawback was the lack of air conditioning. It was boiling and even though we had a fan on pretty much all the time it was hot and sticky every night (temp never dropped below 28c even in the middle of the night!!!). That aside, it's a lovely hotel with beautiful views out across the mountains one way and to the sea the other. Great place!
My friend and i stayed here between 19th & 26th June 03. The apartments owned by Daniel and his father. Daniel runs the bar underneath every night (he has Canadian accent as lives there most of the year). The apartments are a good size we had a really big balcony at the front of the apartments and was good for people watching. The rooms were cleaned once when we were there so we had same bins for 3 to 4 days, wouldnt put me off going there again. Didnt hire a fan but hired safety deposit box at 15 euros a week (same price for fan). I didnt hear about not being able to keep the fan on or anything like that. Daniel was friendly and very generous with shots in the bar which was always a good place to start on an evening. Apartments looked very pretty from outside with pink flowers...had great time would go back. Pool at Windmill was nice size with snack bar and sometimes greek/karaoke/bingo nights.
Just got back from 2 weeks in Argasi, top holiday great weather, plenty of dancing on the bar in Magic Mushroom with the Manchester lads oh yes!! Be warned if you're staying in the Gazebo Inn though - rooms were only cleaned 3 times in the whole fortnight (yes thats 4 days with the same towels and full bins)!! no air con and they don't like you leaving the fan on, and if you leave your light on and the bulb runs out they won't change it cos you're using too much electricity!!! Didn't put us off though I'll definately be going back soon.
stayed in gazebo last year. going back to argassi in june. appartments are clean but very basic. we had a double room on the ground floor (2 floors altogether) looked over to pool at windmill 20mtrs away. its about 5 min walk to center of argassi so not too noisy. loads of bars & restaurants in centre.we thought argassi was great, can't wait to get back there. staying at athina this year. oh, make sure you take your own towels as we got two threadbare tiny things.room was in shade, so not bright inside.
Gazebo apartments - can anyone give me details about these apartments - reviews are a bit scarce - just wanted to know if they are a reasonable size, clean, facilities in apartment and if the position of them in Argassi is good. Also any info on hiring mountain bikes in Zante and info on how far Kalamaki and Tsillivi are from Argassi!!! Lots i know - hope someone can help?
We stayed at the Gazebo in May, clean, but very basic. nice pool adjacent at the windmill appts. Taxi easy to get, cost about £15 to get to Laganas, but wasnt all that impressed. too expensive. enjoyed the nights out in argassi. spent most nights in the appollo bar.
Hi, Me and my boyfriend are going to be staying in the Gazebo apts in July and we were wondering if anyone could give a better description of what they are like. Oh, and does anyone know how long it takes in a taxi to get to Laganas and how much it costs? Cheers
see dennis on the beach for the watersports!! ricky martin, eat your heart out!!!!
