Once again made to feel part of the family.Top class treatment from everyone no complaints as usual (apart from holiday going too quick). It was great meeting up again with other regular guests. It says a lot for you when you have so many guests returning over & over again.Cant wait till next year.Lots of love to all.
Not long been back from the Venus, this was our 2nd time staying here and won't be our last. We couldn't fault anything with the hotel....the staff are great, pool area and rooms are nice, and its in a good location.
Just got back from our week stay in the Venus Hotel....and it was fantastic. This was our second stay in Zante and Kalamaki....having stayed in Denny's Inn in 2001.
The Venus is brill....friendly staff, clean, great pool. We are now looking to return next year for another week.
Zante 10/10.....Kalamki 10/10.....Venus Hotel 10/10
Great hotel and fab resort. we have been to Kalamaki twice and had great holidays each time. the Venus is friendly and well maintained with the very best customer service from Nick and his team. The food is fine, breakfast is continental which you would expect being in Greece not Blackpool. the snack bar by the pool is good prices not bad either. We stayed in a suit which you can only get by booking direct ( see pics above ) great for a family so ask for details from the web site. Kalamaki is brilliant loads of fab restaurants such as Escape, Stani's, Zeppo's plus lots more. Night life is as hectic as you want it to be, quiet local tavernas or the more active fun bars such as drunk corner and down under bar. Kalamaki's neighbour Lagana is 5 mins in a taxi and is very lively Mac D's Kentucky etc you get the drift. The long sandy beach is 5 mins stroll from the Venus warm shallow water great for the kids, but not much shade! We have booked again for next May to celabrate my 40th so if your about come and have a drink with us. If you decide to visit Kalamaki have a great time and let us know what you think. Thanks Nick and team for this year see you next May. Roy, Kirsty, Jonathan and Lauren.
Just arrived back from celebrating the wedding of Paul and Diane in Kalamaki and what an excellent time we had.
We are now back at home and i am missing the hotel already, i keep looking at the time and saying to myself "this time last night i was sitting at the bar talking to Donna, Danny and Nick" And as usual we enjoyed our stay, had a room with a veiw over the sea and the mountains which was lovely, and thank god for the air con otherwise we would have melted. Thank you so much for looking after us again, and you know that you will see me next year no matter what. Hope the rest of the season goes well for you Nick. Have a good Birthday Donna.
We went 20th June - 4th July. Our first stay there but definitely not our last. Last year we stayed at the Marelen, which was good, but loaded with kids, which isn't a bad thing. At the Venus, the first few days, i felt a few of the guests were a bit off with us, maybe because we had 3 young(ish) children, i don't know. But anyways, the hotel was gorgeous, the staff were all so happy and friendly, and i have to give a BIG thankyou to Nick for returning back to the airport with my daughters hand luggage bag after she left it in the car.
Just returned from another brilliant stay. There was nothing about our stay that wasn't 100% good. The refurbishment has been very well done. The food in the pool bar was really good and apart from the days we had the car we tended to eat lunch there most days. We enjoyed drinks on the terrace although the airconditioned lounge was a blessing during the really hot nights
Just returned from a week stay at the Hotel Venus and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff, facilities and location are excellent and deserves more than it's three star rating . When we arrived, we were told that our room had been upgraded to a one-bedroom apartment with it's own patio and garden area complete with outside shower and sun-lounges. They even threw in the rent of the fridge and safety-deposit box for free (50 euro) as they thought they were troubling us !! This is the second year we have stayed in Kalamaki and the Hotel Venus is a fantastic place to stay and enjoy the beautiful island of Zante. Hopefully we will visit again soon and would not hesitate using this hotel and recommending it to friends
STAYED AT THE VENUS JUNE 07 SECOND YEAR STAYING THERE. VERY CLEAN HOTEL, HAD A MAKE-OVER THIS YEAR IN THE RECEPTION/BAR AREA'S REALLY GOOD JOB.
Now back from a relaxing stay at the hotel, was great seeing you all again, the hotel looks great now after all the work (not that there was anything wrong with it in the first place) will be back on the 5th of July see you all again.
This is a fabulous hotel. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough to help you. The rooms are immaculate and the linen and towels are changed daily. I've already booked to go back in June 07.

First visit to Venus and found it to be everything you'd ever want on your holiday........
Until I went to the Venus, I never imagined that I would ever want to keep returning to the same Hotel...now when we book our holidays each year, this is the first one we book and everything else has to be fitted around it...this year we even came twice....there are many many things to love about the place, but if you asked me to name one reason why I keep coming back....it would have to be the people ,so a big round of applause to you all
Just returned from our second visit of the season and had a brilliant time. This hotel offers it all, great hospitatlity, spotless rooms and truly brilliant staff who have time for everyone.
Booked direct through the venus club scheme, best Hol on zante yet. Hotel, location, staff all spot on. Going twice next year.
First time at the Venus but really enjoyed it. Booked direct on the internet. Very friendly staff. Rooms basic but cleaned every day with clean towels daily also. We have booked to go back next June already and will probably go in September 2007 also. Would recommend.

Just returned from 2 weeks at The Venus what a great time the whole staff were always smiling and friendly. Great hotel friendly family run place. Its in the perfect location with everything only five mins away.Great service and hospitality from Donna behind the bar, cleaners are very polite and dont come in when you are in bed as in spain!! Make sure you book direct and get yourself a flight and taxi to save three hundred pounds on two weeks for two (i am not joking, Thompsons charge £300 for a friendly rep that says hello when you get there? no thanks ill keep my three hundred to spend when i get there!)Booking couldnt be easier, flights from £100 each, bargain. Many thanks to Nick and family. cu soon.
used the pool bar owing to not having one at my flat but very nice pool and bar, sunbeds got towelled up by greedy English who then went to the beach but alwasy enough, very impressed!
Got back about 3 weeks ago and still depressed. This hotel was brilliant. Donna and Spiro brilliant in bar - sex on kalamaki to die for!!! And the sambucca. Rooms kept clean and everyone really friendly. Pool great - plenty of beds - though they fill up quite quick. Short walk to sea, and shops and tavernas galore. No where is far in Kalamaki and its not exactly a chore having to walk a bit. Will definitely stay here again so get the drinks ready Donna!!
Sue, Mick and Daniel
Just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks at the Venus. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, everyone was so friendly and helpful and the maids kept the rooms really clean every day.The bingo, karaoke and greek nights were all brilliant. Thanks to Spiro for showing my two nieces a bit of Laganas and thanks to Donna for always having our cocktails ready! Aircraft noise not a problem at all as said in some brochures. Five minutes stroll to main strip, had meals at different restaurants every night and never had a bad meal! Try Ruby for chinese & Indian (by Cave Bar) and Soda+ and The Venue for drinks and you can't beat Mermaids for breakfast. Smugglers Cove a must and make sure you see sunset at Kampi.
Book it now!!!!!!

train there are lots of bars/resturants at drunken corner ony five mins walk away from venus then more besides the further you go. I would recommend a taxi to kalimaki centre and take the free ride up to cave bar which is what it says but has great veiws of kalamaki and the bay. sue.
Train - to answer your question, on the main road there is a wide selection of bars, but it depends on what you are into?
i am coming to the venus on the 30th of july, i would like to know what kind of bars/clubs are in easy reach of the hotel, thanks train
Stayed at the Venus last year and this and love it!!
To answer your queries Geraint the rooms at the Venus do not come with fridges or air-con unless you book directly with the Venus. They are however available at an extra cost.
We hired a fridge for 2 weeks and it cost 45 euros.
We didn't hire air-con, but I think it was 75 euros for 2 weeks.
The Venus no longer allow fans to be used in their rooms, due to a fire last season.
For a nice romantic evening for your friends, tell them to go to Petrino (especially if they like seafood!) or Mikaelos for food and then up to the Cave Bar for drinks.
Hi there,
I will be going to the Venus hotel on 26th july for two weeks,Can someone tell me if there is a fridge in each room if not how much r they to hire as well as the air con.
Also my friends that r comming with me it is thier 1st wedding anniversary on the first night there, where will be the best place for them to go for a romantic evening together.
Cheers hope to see u all there
Geraint
My family and I took a short break here for four days and it was one of the best Greek Hotels we had ever been to. The food served in the snack bar was excellent and the staff were not only multinational but polite and very welcoming. The manaagement were very accomodating when we asked if we could eat breakfast in our room as our 2 year old was a little too boisterous early in the morning. Well, this is what you would expect from loyal Panathanikos supporters! Excellent location, room, faclities & pool. Would recommed to anyone and can't wait to back again.
This is a great place to stay which is reflected in the number of people returning. Everyone works really hard to ensure your holiday is a success.
It has definitely become our number one choice.
just retured from 2 weeks here. this is a fantastic hotel very modern, clean and friendly. the pool area is a great place to relax. i would recommend this hotel to all.
Were there in august 2002.Had a cracking time in kalamaki and the hotel was tops. My girlfriend and i are revisting again for the first 2 weeks in july, returning to the hotel venus and looking forward to drinking lots in the rose and crown. Would definately recommend it to anyone. Not too noisy considering it was summer holidays.
Have a look at the venus website for the direct booking prices - we always travel indpendantly although the prices of flights are not that cheap but overall its less than a package - just needs a bit of organising. Taxis from the airport are reasonable as its only 10 minutes or so away. The hotel is excellent - can't fault it. The hotel opposite can be a bit noisy but we have never found it unbearable. Looking forward to going there again in 3 weeks time.
hello i was wondering if someone could tell me if the venus hotel is suitable for adults. my boyfriend and i are going in the first couple of weeks in july for my birthday and i wanted somewhere a bit mature. i've heard that the hotel opposite can get a bit noisy is this a real problem? also i've noticed that the venus can e quite expensive should i leave it a few weeks to book, would the prices go down, i'm a poor student need to economise!! cheers
I have just returned from a week at the Venus Hotel. It is the first time I've holidayed alone and I must say that I picked the perfect hotel. It's a family run hotel and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are great, quite spacious and spotlessly clean (cleaned daily). I had a great view from my balcony overlooking the hills/mountains/side road. The breakfast is typically Greek and I really enjoyed it. The pool area is great with the snack bar serving tasty snacks. The mattresses for the sunbeds are €1 extra per day, which does make a big difference to your comfort! As it was the first week of the summer season it was fairly quiet in most places and there was no entertainment in the hotel apart from bingo one night. The entertainment was due to start the 2nd week. The weather was dodgy (one day of rain, another of gail force winds, another of completely grey clouds!)but when the sun came out it was brilliant, around 21 degrees. Not expensive in the resort generally, Zakynthos town excellent for shopping. Would definitely go back to this hotel but not early May!
