Trenta Nove

My friend had her wedding reception at Trente Nova. They catered for forty people with one days notice. The meal was excellent as was the service. A wedding cake was included for them at a very reasonable price. The location was excellent, near to the beach. Plenty of room for the children to run around. Will be returning here for a meal next time we are in zante!! many thanks to Toni and staff from Mr & Mrs Barras (the newly weds).

Did lunch here when it was quiet a couple of times so couldn't comment on busier times. The Greek salad was the biggest I've ever had and thus good value for money but could have done with more olives... I would certainly go again if only for lunch.

I had a burger which was raw. My wife had chops which were raw. My daughter had a pizza which was a 2 inch thick lump of cold dough with hard cheese on top. No kids menu for the small kids. 10 minutes to attract a waiters attention. About 15 minutes after that to get a menu. Then roughly half an hour to get the "food". About 20 minutes trying to get the bill. In the end I went up to the counter to pay and worst of all, I left a tip out of habit. NEVER AGAIN!

Well worth a visit, decent restaurant at sensible prices.

The best restaurant in town if you want a peaceful relaxed atmosphere. The food was good served by friendly staff.

The best restaurant we ate at, just up from the beach so gives a different feel than other restaurants in the town. Good choice of food the 'Red Snapper' is delicious staff friendly and allow you to eat your meal without feeling you need to rush. Great place to eat.

Had THE most romantis meal here for our 1st wedding anniversary, my husband had proposed to me in this restaurant 9 years ago. Needless to say it was as good a meal now as we had then. Nice to see the same people running it too. Sorry to hear about Terri's knee but was lovely to see her and her family and catch up. Got to say if anything the food is better than befor. Had the most beatiful geek lamb chops cooked on the bbq and Tony had swordfish also on the bbq. Very generous portions and well presented. WELL DONE T N

How nice it was to find a restaurant in tsilivi that actually served greek food and played light greek music. Went every lunch and evening for the last 6 days of out hols and on one day we were there form 11.00am till 8.00pm cos of rain!!The food was great. Many thanks to the staff. Loved the little boy who helped on saturday and sunday, his english was excellent found out later he had an english mum. Well done mum for such a lovely polite 8 year old.!!

Returned here this year and found it every bit as good as on previous visits. Jacket potatoes and toasted sandwiches are great as a snack after a morning on the beach. Pasta dishes and souvlakis make good lunchtime or evening eating. Service is good at all times and the background music sets the scene without being obtrusive.

Many thanks to the staff of the Trenta Nove, they made eating out in a foriegn country a joy. All the greek dishes were patiently explained and they were very honest. Having a wheat product allergy I had to go VERY carefull but they were just perfect. The Food was favoursome , generous and well presented. Please come and open a restaurant in england.

We had a couple of meals at the Trenta Nove. Unfortunately on one occasion part of the meal was under cooked. We didn't say anything at the time and when the waiter came to clear all the other empty plates he asked why one meal hadn't been eaten. When it was pointed out that it wasn't fully cooked he couldn't be more apologetic and asked if we would like it replacing this was declined and without any further fuss the cost of that meal was deducted from the bill. It's a shame other restaurants in Tsilivi don't follow the Trenta noves lead. On the other visits the food was always excellent and very good value for money.

This place can't be beaten. Great food, service, atmosphere, and really reasonable prices. FANTASTIC MUST BE TRIED>

Happened to go for a walk to the beach in the evening and found this place. As a group fo four girls it was relly nice to be treated with a bit of respect rather than "sex objects". The food was relly generous portions and I especially liked the kleftiko a greek dish with lamb potatoes fresh veggies all baked in tin foil with cheese, bacon and wine.Yummy!! Thanks for everything .

Had a great 2 weeks in this resort and found this on our 3rd night. We tried a couple of restaurants after this and nothing quite came up to par. Needless to say we gave up and just kept going back to the Trenta the lads in there work like mad and the food is excellent. They had a wedding party in one night but that didn't change the quality of food or service. If we ever go back to Zante this will be our first port of call. WELL DONE and keep it up.

This was the best meal we had in the time we were on zante, It was organised as a wedding breakfast by my sister who got married there i expected an avaerage meal as they were catering for a large number but terry the owner pulled out all the stops and as ive said already it was just fantastic!

We have just returned from Zante after the most romantic of weddings. Our reception took place in the Trenta Nove Taverna, whose owners, Makis & Terri Giatras, made our day. Sixteen guests and ourselves were served, very professionally, the most delicious greek meal. We each had mixed plate starters(meatballs, stuffed vine leaves, cheese pies, spring rolls,etc) second course, after our palettes were cleansed with some wine - tuna salad, feta cheese, and cucumber & tomato salad. Our main course - a wonderful sliced beef with a succulent sauce which just melted in our mouths. Two of our guest where vegetarian and had the most amazing stuffed tomatoes. Our wedding cake, also arranged by Terri, was a two tier strawberry and cream creation, topped with a bride and groom. All of this washed down with champagne and of course copious amounts of red and white wine from our hosts wine selection. We danced in the garden and were made to feel very, very special. We would thoroughly recommend this taverna and thank each and everyone of it's staff as well as it's fabulous owners for making it a day to remember.

We were on holiday for the first time with our 2 kids (6 months and 4) the staff there couldn't have done more to accomadate us doing eggs and beans for the little one at night even if it wasn't on the menu!! The food was always tip top and the HOMEMADE pizza well that was out of this world. They also did us takeaways when the kids got tired and just couldnt make it out at night. My favorite was the pennes trenta nove pasta with cream, chicken, bacon and loads of cream!! Definate favorite for us

FANTASTIC just about sums up this restaurant, greek music playing quietly in the background and the food catered for everyone. Had some relly picky eaters with us and they didnt manage to complain about anything!! Can seriously recommend this restaurant everything we eat was well presented and good sized portions. Well done Trenta Nove

Lovely relaxed setting near the beach,food and service were just average.

We visited May 2002. Apologies for the late input onto the site, however I have to say it was one of the best restaurants my hubby and I had been in - we've done a hell of a lot of the Greek island and would find it hard to compare other eateries with the service, food quality and surrounding offered at Trente Nove. The waiters were absolutely fabulous - they worked like trojans without looking hassled. The food arrived timely, every time, and believe me when you're married to the head chef of a convention centre, eating out can be a nightmare! We were so pleased to discover Trente Nova and wish them the success they deserve for the coming Summer season (we're planning another visit!! - hope to see you very soon).

The brilliant thing about this restaurant is the simply the refreshingly quiet and relaxed setting. This is about the only Restaurant in town that isn't thumping out loud music. Didn't try the food but great for a capaccino/metaxa late in the evening. Well done Trenta Nova for bucking the noisy brash (downward) trend of Tsilivi.

Our favourite restaurant in Tsilivi. Quiet and away from the noisy road. Smart surroundings with pleasant atmosphere. Pizzas a favourite with the children.

VISITED TSILIVI EVERY YEAR SINCE 1993,HAD A LUNCH TIME MEAL HERE FIRST YEAR WE CAME AND WAS VERY DISAPOINTED WITH PRICE,QUALITY AND PORTION SIZE.DECIDED IN A MOMENT OF MADNESS TO GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY IN SEPTEMBER OF 2001,I AM AFRAID TO SAY LITTLE HAD CHANGED.VERY NICE SURROUNDINGS,PLEASANT BUT NOT OVER FRIENDLY STAFF AND FOOD ONCE AGAIN DISAPOINTING.HAD MUCH BETTER FOOD ELSEWHERE.

My wife and I discovered this restaurant on our 1st day in Tsilivi, which is strange because we find jems like this only on our last day in town. The food is very well presented, the wine nicely chilled and the music at a level to allow normal conversation to take place without having to compete with a "Juke Box". We ate here every evening and most lunch times. The prices were very competitive and the setting is magic. Being close to the beach does not spoil the ambience or the relaxed mood. Overall our holiday was greatly improved by our finding of this restaurant. You could say that it was "Love at first sight".

A beautiful place with excellent food and service. The location is great for the beach and the waiting staffs local knowledge made my visit more interesting. Definately going there again.

We have been here on a number of occasions and found the staff to be very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The food we found has always been excellent and cater for both Greek and English tastes. We have had various meals including Mezes, Kleftico and Kalamari, and they have also gone out of their way to make speciality liquer ice creams which are out of this world. I highly recommend them and being close to the beach make them a great attraction for both lunchtime and evening. Go there, you will not be disappointed.

Been here many times. So conveniently near the beach and the food is excellent. We love having a main meal of starters - such variety. Makis is an excellent host and his wife Terri makes every visit worthwhile. If you want good Greek food this is the place - we don't go abroad to eat English food! Highly recommended.

I have been to Zante on 7 visits and have eaten here so many times that it would be impossible to describe details of the many meals I have enjoyed A delightful restaurant which is run by Makis and his effervescent English wife Terri who always makes you feel welcome. The peaceful atmosphere that can be enjoyed in their delightful garden under the trees, with the sound of the cicadas serenading you, is an experience you can't afford to miss. Try the swordfish steak or possibly the rabbit, if available, which my friends say is excellent. Being a veggie myself I can assure you that I am always well taken care of too!

I am a regular visitor to Zakynthos and have eaten many times at the Trent Nova. I cannot understand how you can rate such an excellent restaurant at 3/10. The food is excellent, service very good and you are always made to feel very welcome. I suggest that you look at your ratings again especialy some of the other restaurants that you graded higher

We found the garden setting ideal for a lunch close to the beach. Evening meals were a joy - the chicken kebab (souvlaki?) was succulent. Try lots of starters - they are all excellent. We've returned there on each of our visits to Zakynthos - one time from as far afield as Alikes.

How on earth has the Trenta Nova restaurant got a 3 out of ten rating when out of all the comments listed only two were complaints. How do you do your scoring??

Pretty place, very clean and my swordfish steak was lovely, rest of family enjoyed their choices too! Portions of vedge/chips were a bit small.

We discovered this taverna 13 years ago and it was great to hop off the beach for lunch and then back agaim - returned 3 years later to find it disappointing but visited again last week to fnd it revamped and had a lovely lunch there.

Beautiful place but the food and service was dreadful.Microwaved rubber with lots of sauce to hide the sins.

Sorry to add this comment as the lady who serves is so nice but the food was awful. Maybe we ere unlucky with what we had but everything had oil all over it and the kalamari was so over cooked it tasted like rubber. Everything else was nice about it except the food was bloody awful - sorry!

Went for breakfast, dinner and tea - lovely every time. Run by a Greek man and his wife (Austrailian maybe?). Good choice of food, reasonable prices, very honest staff. Lovely setting, near beach and very clean.

Very picturesque setting under the trees en route to beach. We spent a very relaxing afternoon eating & drinking. Even our children loved it and the staff / owner(?) was very child friendly and accommodating. The food was good and the atmosphere was a dream.
