Ag.Sos here I come..............

Anyone else going around this time, it will be really relaxing, jsut dont read my other comments about liver failure ahem

Andrew C  (05 July 2006)

Well you know me too well Steph, it has been about a year since I was last there, and although I have been in touch with the guys (and girls), its not the same as being there. So we are arranging to go at some point during the summer holidays even tho its an extortionate price.

I also have to confess that I have been elsewhere on holiday, however not during the summer months. I have been to Dominican Republic, America and Dubai and although they are fantastic places, I cant wait to get back to see "me old mates!!!"

Really looking forward to it but have had to promise the wife that I am not allowed to stay out till 7am partying lol

Just loadds of beers by the breezer bar then (that is if im not there working )

Andrew C  (05 July 2006)

By the way didnt mean to put average, been so long forgot how to use the site lol

Sally G  (29 June 2006)

Frank, Akardianos charge 2euros per hundred euro cheque.  if you change sterling cash they dont charge you.  Not sure about sterling Travels Cheque.  Defo cheaper to take sterling cash as most places will not charge commission on cash.  hope this helps.  Sally

Anne H  (27 June 2006)

Don't worry Gordon the showers are not to bad just be careful on the floor as it might be a bit slippey under foot and i'm afraid you have to hold the shower head at the same time as showering. It was our 3 year old who hated it we got used to it, you'll have a great time and say hello to Eri at the bar for me

Anne.

Gordon M  (27 June 2006)

Thanks Anne you have put my mind at rest. What do you mean about the showers? Really looking forward to some sun sea and relaxation.

Thanks again
Gordon

Frank M  (27 June 2006)

Going soon now,  can anyone tell me if it is best to still take sterling cheques or Euro? if sterling is there some where in Aghios Sostis that will change them at a good rate com free? Thanks to Michael on the A/C info etc, I'm with Lisa on this, it is a big chunk out of the Spending Money, so might need to look at alternatives. I'm sure we'll all have a great time going by the reports on these pages.  Anyone else going this weekend?

Sally G  (26 June 2006)

Hi to all who holidayed during 4 - 19 June.  Myself and my daughter, Yasmin had a wicked time at the Arkadianos.   A great hotel for families and couples alike.  All the staff were great, very friendly and helpful.  Rooms are basic but as long as there's a bed and a shower I'm happy, very clean and i must have been lucky as i had a kettle and a toaster!!!  The black out doors on the balcony are great as they keep the room nice and cool, only problem was when you wake you still think it's the middle of the nite!!  Met loads of people, Hi Karen, Allen and Leigh, Steve & Nikki, Ronnie & Jenny and loads more!! You were all great!!!  Eri is a star!!!  Talk about free shots, i got plenty of free water too, mainly thrown over me while relaxing on a lounger!!  Eri you swine!!  Great fun though will defo be returning next year.  Sam our rep was great, loads of fun and v helpful.  Hi to Shell and Charlene, you young chicks were a scream!!  Food in Zante is lovely, loads to chose from.  You must try the Ole Ole which is up the road and round the back of the apartments, Roberto is lovely and so is the food.  There are not many bars in the resort but if you are looking for something more lively then you are only 15 min walk from Laganas along the beach or a short taxi ride for about 8euros.  Oh well back to work for now .  Wish you all well, Sally xxx.

Anne H  (20 June 2006)

Message for Gordon your kids will have a fantastic time at Arkadianos there is a choice of 2 pools and a pool table in the wild rose.  We have just come back from Zante 2nd year running and love it so much, my boys aged 3, 8 and 10 and a great time they made so many friends played football on the roof and even helped behind the bar at night. No problems there don't read the bad messages they are untrue the apartments are spot on and you even get a kettle now  and be prepared for the showers though .   Message for Sam sooooooooo missing Zante Say  hi to Eri from the family and see you next year .

Love Anne

Sam H  (04 June 2006)

hi anne thanks for your photos, eri is this a pain in the bum, but he is loving having his photos on the internet.  i will get to read your questionaire comments next week, say hi to the kids for me.  got pushed in the pool again yesterday but hey hoo its just part of the job.  take care of yourselves

love sam

Vicki C  (03 June 2006)

Just got back kids loved it.  For a nice meal on a night I suggest that you go Tasos Tavern 5 minute walk but the food was excellent.  Quiet on a night could of done with a few more things like pool tables for the kids.  The bar at the hotel had a really great amosphere.  The all day boat trip is a bit of a no go the captain did not stop at half the stops.  I recommend the Manthos 2 hr boat trip turtle spotting we saw 2 turtles kids thought it was great we stopped at turtle island which was a really nice beach.

Justine W  (30 May 2006)

thankyou stephanie  much appreciated    . justine

Michael H  (30 May 2006)

Don't know what the other rooms were like but we found 207 at the rear of the building (where most of us Brits end up) was very nice. Entrance into kitcken area, bathroom off to left. The kitchen area opens up into bedroom 1 then walk tro to bed no.2 and out onto balcony. We saw into one room that had multiple beds for kids/ group of 6 or so and one bedroom was enclosed with no windows, very dark.

Michael H  (30 May 2006)

The aircon is 7 euros per machine, so if you have a 2 bedroomed ap. it's 14 euros! That's £5 and £10 per night.

click to enlargeThe beach . . . .it's down to one row of loungers. I can't believe the beach has disappeared that much! Do you mean 4 rows deep as opposed to the one it's down to now? Wow, that's dreadful.
View shows the beach below Arkadianos, seen in the background.

Lisa K  (30 May 2006)

michael thanks for the info,  lisa.

Stephanie H  (30 May 2006)

Justine, last july it was about 20 euros, and took about 20mins. It was a little hairaising, so be warned.!!!!

Justine W (29 May 2006)

hello does anybody know how much roughly a taxi is from the airport to arkadianos .our daughter suffers from travel sickness and we've just been told about 1 hour + transfer. [the joys of parenting eh]if anyone can help i'd be grateful justine

Michael H  (28 May 2006)

Hi Lisa. . . food was about 5 to 7 euros per main dish, more if you want steak or fresh fish. Starters 3 to 4. Always kids stuff on the menu like burgers & pizza etc, and you get chips or rice with most things. We are vegetarian, so I'm probably not the best person to answer you. Omelettes come with chips often inside the omelette, and the cheese can sometimes be a local goat's or ewe's cheese which is very strong. If you are staying at Aradianos then you should find plenty to eat in the tavernas along the front. if you come out of the building and turn right there is a takeaway just past Syrtaki which looks ok. We saw fish and chips for 5 euros. Big salad with it and the fish was sole. Drinks, not too sure again. Wine in the supermarket is just over 3 euros. Beer Mythclick to enlargeos and Amstel about 1.75.

Pic shows the front pool with Maestro taverna along the water edge. Sirocco and Manthos further along.

Lisa K  (27 May 2006)

HI, good advice needed.

we are self catering for two weeks in august,2adults/2kids7/10.

never been to greece before . ..   lisa  ..

Michael H  (27 May 2006)

click to enlargeclick to enlargeSecond year here and not disappointed, other than a few rowdy families, but the matter was sorted very quickly. Staff were very helpful. Sun loungers free, matresses 1 euro. Aircon has gone up to 7 euros a day. (Had to have it on to heat the room at night) View from room 207T of the rear "Tereza" pool, and the view from 320 at the front of the building out towards "Turtle Island". Lots to tell!

Anne H  (17 May 2006)

Annon A  (01 November 2005)

Hi we LOVED it !!!

The apartments are very basic but very clean ! they were big enough to accomadate 4 girls and thats saying something with all our clothes. We went in the begining of October and the weather was still lovely (came home with a tan  ). The hotel is situated 5 metres from the beach , which was lovely and espeshally nice at night , seeing the lights from the resturant reflect on the water was lovely (dont let my mates hear me say that). It was a quiet area in which you could sit back and relax , and when you wanted a busier time you jumped in a taxi (which reception phone for you  ) and 10 minutes later your in LAGANAS !!! Hotel bar was espeshally friendly , giving you more free shots then what you even bought ...BUT be careful ...i spent my night in the loo with my head down it , next morning we had a letter posted through the door saying we had been a little noisey .......THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN !!
LAGANAS was great ...but dont go to the eat as much as you like chineas in the high street .... .........i luv chinky but that was foul ...i paid and went to mcD's which was over the road .
Great bar down high street , dunno name , barmen blow fire and crack ice ...and free drinks if you dance on the bar !!!!!

go you wont be disapointed ...PERFECT LOCATION IF YOU ASK ME !!!! im 21 btw

Hope Hanni enjoyed her holiday in Holland and Bianca has found a man. Thank you to everyone for yet another successful holiday although there were a few hiccups, but do we ever complain. To Bekos (our personal chef) we miss your cooking and have awarded you the Best chef on the island. Allan N  (09 October 2005)

Heeellooo... Just got back from another week of fun..

Hi Sarah..(our next door neighbours).
Big thanks to the usual lot, Erijon, Mentor Moses Evangelos Paris Christina Stephano Nelly ect ect.
We will be back at the end of may..

To hire a scooter you need your full uk licence and they go from £19 a day from smart rentals 3 doors down from the Arkadianos on the left.
Lynn your rep will give you the Hertz details as well along with other excussions but dont be afraid to shop about.
If your after a karioki try tghe Relax bar in Lagana near the pink panther but more suited to families as its unlikly that the wild rose will do another this late on in the season.
I will post some photoes soon for those wanting a giggle. for now, take careand Adio.

Scott M (09 October 2005)

Going to Arkadianos next Monday with my girl friend. A couple of questionsm, will it still be good (warm) weather so late on in the year? My girlfriend likes to do lots of activities. How much is boat hire and I've read elsewhere motorbike hire? She'd love that. Also any other activities you can suggest I want like the beach but would like to get the most out of my trip :)

Karen G  (08 October 2005)

Sarah B  (08 October 2005)

Just come back with family of 18, The resort was safe and you had everything close to you that you needed. Weather was lovely and hot but some nights there was thunderstorms.Staff there was very helpful and pleasant. We had a sea view from our appartment and great scenary, there's 2 swiimiming pools and a near club called WILD ROSE . Food too spicy for me but the breakfast at the MAESTRO was brillant. Coming back was a nightmare, remind to have the toliet before you go to the airport, we was queing for ages and take drinks with you. maid was in everyday she was very helpful. Rooms am basic but very clean remember to take a kettle. Go on jeep ride it was brillant and fun for the kids and great scenary. Going back again soon CAN'T WAIT.

Michael H  (05 October 2005)

We had a week here from 8th to 15th Sept. The room was 207T and was plenty big enough for three adults (2 bedrooms) The cleaner was in most days (without a tip to encourage her. . although she did get a few euros at the end!) We did have a problem with the air con. not working, but the receptionist refunded our money when the guy couldn't fix it. Over all we found the staff pleasant, the rooms comfortable (beds were a little hard) and we are looking at returning in May or June next year. The only downside during the whole holiday was the return trip from Zakynthos airport. . .horrible! We queued outside (undercover) for ages and when you get inside, 20 at a time there are only 2 check-in desks. When you get through passport control you are one of about a thousand people with only 100 seats. The weather was fantastic, 30 to 35c most days. The sea is clean and very warm, sunbeds on the beach below Sirocco taverna were 3Euros a day. Sirocco was our best choice to eat.

Willy H  (02 October 2005)

just come back from arkadinioas appartments we loved it, the room was basic but we dident go there to stay in the room all day... all the staff where great. and we found out that if you give the room maids a few euros tip every few days your room looked that little bit cleaner.. its real cheep to eat out there we was paying around 30 euros for 2 adults and 1 child for starters and mains and drinks that works out around  under £25.. we also found a great place called fatsos where you could eat as much as you wanted for one set price. take breakfast for example 4 euros for as much as you can eat and evening meal i think was 6.95 with a wide selection of as much as you can eat it was great and easy to find walk down that main street in lagana away from the sea  called bar street and turn right down the kalamaki road go down for a few hundred yrds and it comes up on your right all the beer is cheep the best is the local beet called MYTHOS it tastes real nice and buying it from the local shops is about 1 to 1.50 euros and in the bars about 2.50 euros  we realy had a great time and would go back again any questions email me on grandriverrat2005@yahoo.co.uk

Joanne M  (21 September 2005)

Just come back from these apartments on 16/09/05.  FANTASTIC glad I didn't take in everybodies neg comments had a great time, lovely pool, fantastic views from our apartments.  We all left our inflatables in the pool, nothing got pinched and all the kids just used any of the toys, I've never been anywhere that friendly before.  The staff were absolutley remarkable our every whim was catered for.  My mum and sister who are both disabled needed some changes to the apartment and the staff drilled holes in walls to put up a shower and arranged the apartments exactly how it was needed for our comfort.  Menthol and Eris were the perfect barmen and yes their shots did come to free and fast.  Even the supermarket staff wore a smile everyday and got us stock from the warehouse they didn't even sell themselves.  I think it's important to mention the guy who works in the tereza poolbar I don't know his name but he was polite and pleasant from 8 in the morning till usually well into the night despite being terrorised by what looked like a million kids.  So yeah the kitchen isn't brilliant, the apartments arn't spotless and it isn't night club heaven.  But for comfort pleasant staff, value for money and a brill holiday go to these apartments

Dave O  (16 September 2005)

Just returned After 2weeks staying at the Arkadianos with my family of 5.

Our 2 bed apartment was more than plenty for space, pretty clean (cleaner brought new towels every day) and just a bit better than we expected.

Balcony Sea-view was really good

Geenerally, hotel was good, pool bit cold, but shop & facilities all you need.

Willy H  (12 September 2005)

tiis is a message for tony scott

thanks for giving me the a reply to the price of beer in bottles and pint glad to hear you had a top time on 2 days till i fly out there on the 15 of sept CANT WAIT
THANKS AGAIN WILLY HORTON

John M  (12 September 2005)

Went to Aghios Sostis and stayed at the Arkadianos appartments from the 28th of August for 2 weeks. The first week was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The room we stayed in was 223T (the pictures I have observed on this site of other rooms eg 220 seem a lot bigger  and we were quite shocked at how small ours  was. For self catering appartments there was only 2 plug in hobs so if you decided to cook a meal in the room you would have been disapointed. RIGHT thats the bad bits covered now to the good bits and there were many of them ! I would like to thank Mentor for making our holiday, he never seemed to sleep and dished out the ouzolike there was no tomorrow. Also a big shout out to Hanni at breezers bar (she does the morning and afternoon shift so we only seen her in the first week!), and happy birthday to you for October (eeh to be 21 again !). I would like to thank all of the reception staff who would do everything in their power to help you (Even my room key which happened to be in my pocket all along was discovered by them!) And finally to all our friends that we met out there including Greg and Jen and Jennifer Aniston! (you know who you are). Dave sends his love as well though he had a bad flight home (mentor , your large shots were just too big for him !) As long as you dont expect a large appartment with good cooking facilities and you are going out there like dave and I to look at women, have a few quiet drinks and generally chill out then Agios Sostis is the place to go and arkadionas is the place to stay .

Laura B  (10 September 2005)

click to enlargeclick to enlargeWe returned here for the second time 4th aug to 19th there was 6 of us we had a fab holiday loving the friendleness of the staff and helpfulness stayed in the same room 2 years running although being overlooked by other holiday makers (which unless you get the penthouse can,t be helped) we had a lovely view inland of the mountains.

Our room was basic but this is greece and was cleaned every day.The hotel bars are friendly and attract other hoilday makers enjoying a fun and relaxed holiday without the trouble of laganas.Although it is a nice liesurely 15 minutes walk along the coastal edge to Laganas and is worth a visit. Also this path has been improved greatly since last year and is now easily assessable.
We have been back 3 weeks now and have so many happy memories and enjoyable times with people we met there that we would definatly go back again
Missing it already!!!

Anyone else.  Ignore negative comments.  There are so many of us you can c on line that go back time after time.  It is the best for relaxation, friendly people and good beach location.  Us regulars should all meet up the same time and have a great party.

Tony S  (07 September 2005)

Surprised at the moans we like the place and have always found the staff helpful and friendly - we asked to change rooms the morning we arrived this year and the managers sorted it the following day - no problem.

We had a great second week thanks Joanne - it was good to meet up.

We hope to get back there again around the same time next year - Lisa finishes exams so will be more flexible.

Hope to see you all again - take care.

For Willy Horton - a large bottle of Mythos, Amstell or Heinekin is 2.50Eur and a pint of draft lager is 3Eur. Enjoy.......

Emma W  (06 September 2005)

Thanks Steph, Im sure we will have a great time

Vikki B  (06 September 2005)

In reply to Willy Hortons message.  It takes about 15 - 20 minutes to walk to Laganas from the apartments, most of which is flat so our 3 year old walked it too, at at nice gentle pace.  There are loads of things to do locally so you will find something to do, our daughter enjoyed going on the boats which you can hire from outside the apartments and they also do organised trips to see the turtles and the Keri Caves.  It really does depend on what you like doing yourself, as it is one of those places where there is plenty to do if you want to, but you can just relax and do nothing if you'd prefer.  There is a childrens club (for a fee) but as we never used it, we are unsure of the cost and if 3 year olds can go (sorry!).  As for eating out, one of the cheapest resturants aroung is 'Manthos' which is just a little further down the road.  Here you can eat either inside or have you meals looking out to sea.  Our favourite was the 'Syrtaki' which is also reasonable in price, but the great thing about Zante is no matter where you go the locals make you welcome and they love kids!  Beware, the restarant on site 'Maestro', is a very nice restuarnt and the staff are great, but they can be a bit pricey and you can never seem to get your estimations right as it varies so much!  What ever you do you will have a lovely time and do not worry about any negative comments on here as we love it and will definitely be returning (which will be a 3rd time).  Have a lovely time.

Steph H  (06 September 2005)

Emma,  me and my daughter went last October, it is still hot enough to sit on the beach all day, it does get a bit chilly in the evenings, but only enough for a hoody, or similar, so September will be even warmer. Have a great time.

Emma W  (05 September 2005)

hey all

im going out on the sunday with 3 mates. we were there in june and loved every minute.  I was just wondering if anyone reading this has ever been in september, and know what the weather is like. also if anyone else is going on the 11th, let me know and we could meet up for a drink at the breezer bar.

Joanne G  (04 September 2005)

Joanne G  (04 September 2005)

We returned on 19 August after our 3rd year running.  Must say I have been on this site since I came back but could not write anything because I am so fed up with such negative reports from some SAD people.

On our first day there we were given a room which we did not like.  After speaking to manager we were move next day with no problem.

We were overun with ants but if you have a problem get some killer from reception.  Its not a problem.

Love the resort and complex.  Anyone booking here or thinking about it I would say yes.  Everyone so friendly.  Loads of repeat bookers.  Our children want to go back again next year.  Think that has got something to do with nelly the pool boy.  Also I luv it too.

If Laura on line will e mail u soon.  Say hello to alty for us.

Tony and Cheryl.  Hi.  Was good to meet us.  If we go next year will be 29th July or round about.  Hope u had a good second week.

Lots of luv to everyone.

Vikki B  (01 September 2005)

Thanks Steph, it just really annoys me to hear the place being moaned about so much, yes we all know that there is room for improvement, but what do you expect when you only pay that much, you are hardly going to get 'The Ritz' are you? The main thing is that it is clean, and what is better than knowing whilst you are abroad there are people who are willing to do anything to help you?  Once again guys and gals if you are reading this, efcaristo poly for making the holiday what its is.  We were the family who stayed in 107 for two years running with 3 adults and 2 children (a little girl and a boy (Laura at Spiros Boats friends)).  And we will definitely be seeing you all again  M'aresi Zante poly!

Steph H  (31 August 2005)

Well said Vicki. The fact that there are so many regular return visitors to these apartments speaks for its self, we can't all be wrong!! People that just have to find something to whinge about  on their holidays should just stay at home and not bother to go anywhere.!

(Eri, if you are reading this, are you still "being good boy today? )!!!!

We stayed at the Arkadianos in June for the 2nd year running.  Unfortunately we did have a few problems this year too.  Mainly we were without any hot water for almost 2 weeks, this was partly own fault as we did not report this until the 2nd week, taking it as the norm for Greece.  We also had a slight problem with ants on one accassion too.  Firstly the ants, this is a common problem especially if people keep sweets or sweet thing in their rooms,  just go and ask at Reception and they will provide you with Ant killer which works immediately!  Secondly, the hot water as soon as this was reported everyone involved tried to resolve the matter including the Rep and Hotel Staff.  How anyone can say the staff of these apartments are not helpful I do not know, they are the nicest, friendliest and most helpful people you could ever wish to meet (Thanks to everyone who works there you are Great and are what actually make the holiday so good).  The beack is not filthy or dirty, it is raked over every morning and I personally have never seen a piece of litter on there!  Admittedly there are a few pebbles in places but apart from that the water is clean and safe and so is the sand.  We personally didn't eat at the Maestro (we did the year before and found it quite expensive) but the food is quite good, if you want to find a cheaper restuarant and good value for money try Manthos just a little further down the road, we personally liked the Syrtaki the best but it is all a matter of trying the one that suits you.  The only advice I can give is apparently Ole Ole is a good restaurant but when we saw the prices of the food we didn't try it.  The extra you pay at Ole Ole can include your drinks at another resraurant.  Lastly, if you are not happy with the pool at the apartments there are plenty of pools close by at other hotels were you can grab some relaxtion on free sunbeds, you are always made feel welcome (thanks Matthew!), the main catch being please use there pool bar.  For all of you that have booked up and are worried about the comments on here, don't be.  As long as you go and relax, treat the locals with the respect they deserve (they all work extremely long hours to try and make your holiday a good one!) and rather than whinge about small details, talk to them if you have a problem, you will have a great time!  Oh just one more thing TOILET PAPER, as for not being told about the toilet paper thing, the Rep who is on your transfer coach tells you about this, so does the Rep at your Welcme meeting and when we left the apartments there was a large sign on the back of the toilet door, so how can you not know about putting your toilet paper in the bin!!!!!

Lynn D  (29 August 2005)

accomodation in the studios and hotel were very basic, we couldn't have cooked anything if we would have wanted to, we booked a studio when we used the shower or sink it flooded out the bathroom and we had to mop up ( now we know why there was a mop bucket on our landing.) we were asked to move to the hotel and were given free air-con for the rest of our stay, however when we were in studios air con was not needed.  They made it sound like they did us a favor giving us air con in the hotel however we did them the favor by moving because it was the greeks and italians anual holiday and they took priority over us!!!   Itwas a living nightmare, myself and son were expected to share a double bed we were over run with ants, the  light switch fell out everytime that it was pressed. and the balcony was almost non-exisitent. avoid room 302 at your peril.  We saw the rep, she was o.k but nothing special.  They moved several families from studios to hotels, every family complained and by way of compensation were all given free breakfast every morning.  in the brochure the hotel is a 3 star we found out that it was actually only a 1 star.  not that much to do in the evenings in ag sos, beach not that fantastic full of fags and rubbish, food very good at manthos restaurant.  pool absolutely jam packed with chlorine and not enough sunbeds had no choice to go to the beach. everyone that we spoke to at the hotel was of the same opinion, it was awful and we couldn't wait to return home.

Mike   (28 August 2005)

this was by far the worst holiday i have eva bin on, we were moved frm sum apartments into others which were dark, smelly and it gt betta; we had a view of other people's balconys (great). there were ants crawling everywere and the pressure that the water left the shower head at was pathetic.  if i was you i wouldn't waste my money on this place, we were tld by local restaurant owner also that the owner of the hotel has been imprisoned for life after being caught 4 bein the biggest heroin deala eva on the island . however it wasn't all bad news as i met this rele fit gal calld sian bt her step sis was a total b***h so if u 2 are readin dis i hope u rememba mike n tom.

Allan N  (28 August 2005)

Sep 29th for a week I will be back with the family and some friends.. Any single females looking for a laugh going at this time ? If so give us a shout and I will post a pic of Dave who will be abroad for the first time...

Al

Allan N  (28 August 2005)

well i have to say i dunno what some of you peeps expect ?

my family and i together with some friends went here last may 2 weeks and may 04 1 week, we like the place and the people that much we go again sep 29th for another week.  like most people if you treat the locals and the area with some respect you will have it returned.  if you read anything about staying on any of the greek islands or have transfers with your tour operator the water and toiletries will have been explained to you. as a former travel agent who has been to many places you will not find s/c acconidation at these prices any better anywhere. if you do make sure you book up quick and dont bother those of us who are looking for an enjoyable time rather that somthing to whinge about.. talking of which do you support by any chance man u or a**enal ? as that would explaine alot.
hi to erijon, evangelos, paris, bianca, mentor, henna, christine and mia..and roberto and his father at the ole' ole'.
we will be seeing you soon....and to tony at the wild rose...you shall have the unfortunate plesure of hearing us..

take care to all..

Liz   (26 August 2005)

well i dont no where 2 start firstly after a 2 hour wait at the airport 4 our luggage we finnaly arrived at the hotel 2 find that it didnt look anything like the hotel in the brochure. Then at reception they were rude and told my mum that the half bourd expensices were only 13 euro thats not even £10 a person. 1 night at the meustro restraunt the waiter chucked us of a table n sed oh this is reserved, we sat somewhere else and he chucked 2 menus at us and 3 plates at us (bearing in mind there were 5  of us) and said 'thats all we have!' Every single night we would wait about an hour for our food and that was just drinks. then the bill came to 18 - 20 euros which is what we expected for our drinks. the last night the bill came to 40 euros my mum was not happy!!!!! my dad got electricuted TWICE and i sliped over after the maid had drenched the floor after she had 'cleaned'   On arrival at the hotel we were never told about the sanitation method they use (put toilet paper in the 'broken' bin) they never put any chemicals down the toilet 2 clean it smelt.   Take my advice dont go to this hotel it isnt what they make out it is, this hotel isnt a 4 star it isnt even a 1 star, i have no reason 2 lie this is the worst holiday i have ever been on plus the rats on the beach weret the most nicest of things for tourists 2 see!!! i have never met such ignorant people!!!!!! hope u all read this :(

James L  (26 August 2005)

Well, i must of gone to somewhere completely differant to Mike, i came back yesterday. I went with my wife and my two little girls and we had a fantastic time. The apartments are basic i must admit, but from speaking to others who have stayed in other places in the greek islands this is as good as it gets.

I would recommend staying here as, i personnally had a great time. We will be going back!!!

I personnally couldn't stand the onsite restaurant, but i am quite fussy when it comes to food (being an ex-chef). the best restaurant i found was the ole ole, which about 10 min walk from the apartments.

A little tip!! we tipped our maid the first day we see her and got our beds and towels changed nearly everyday. We then tipped her on the second week and the same again!!!

Mike   (25 August 2005)

this was by far the worst holiday i have eva bin on, we were moved frm sum apartments into others which were dark, smelly and it gt betta; we had a view of other people's balconys (great). there were ants crawling everywere and the pressure that the water left the shower head at was pathetic.  if i was you i wouldn't waste my money on this place, we were tld by local restaurant owner also that the owner of the hotel has been imprisoned for life after being caught 4 bein the biggest heroin deala eva on the island . however it wasn't all bad news as i met this rele fit gal calld sian bt her step sis was a total b***h so if u 2 are readin dis i hope u rememba mike n tom.

Michael H (14 August 2005)

Three of us going to Arkadianos Apts. and all three of us are Vegitarians. . . . Any recommendations as to where to eat from fellow Veggies!?

Lesley W  (13 August 2005)

We found eating out about the same as uk.  But with very little cooking facilities eating out 2-3 times a day expensive with 2 adult and 3 children.  One  place charged 2 euros each just to sit down. Kiddies drinks at 2.5E that seamed to be common place.  The bills came right down towards the end of the holiday as the kids wanted to drink water to quench their thirst.

Everyone has different tastes when it comes to restaurants.
The Panarama has fantastic views and have some specials everyday we ate here 5-6 times;
Syritaki (I think thats how you spell it) was also quite reasonable.
ole ole something special a bit on the expensive side.(2 e service charge each compared to likathea hotel 60 cents each)
The likathea hotel next to ours has again fantasic views and the food is a little cheeper than maestros, but the menu is not as extensive.
Part of the holiday is finding the best reastaurant that suits you.  our family all have different tastes  and appitites sometimes i would just go and eat on my own, as i didnt fancy the reastaurant my husband and kids picked.
enjoy your holiday and all those lovely greek salads (theres nothing like you first cold beer sereved in a frosted glass and greek salad when you arrive)
Lesley

Eva L  (13 August 2005)

Am travelling to these apartments on 2nd sept 12.30 midnight.  Am gong with my daughter, her husband and two children aged 10 and 13.  Is there anyone else going on this flight from manchester, also would like to know which restaurants are recommended from previous guests.  Plus if you have been this year is eating out expensive.

Joanna A  (11 August 2005)

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply! cant wait to get out there now! 3 weeks today!!!! thanks for the advice we will put it to good use! thanks again, Jo and gang!

Steph H  (06 August 2005)

Came home on Sunday, missing this place like mad already, Hi to everyone who knows us , 'Mama and Emma,!!!!!! Thanks to Eri for making our hols such  good fun, hope you are still being a 'good boy today'!!! Don't  know what our plans are for next year yet, as Emma is very interested in working in Zante, so we just have to see what happens, but hopefully we will return at some time.

Mark Y  (03 August 2005)

In reply to Jo A, take a walk along the beach and goto a place called Med Version for food. This place is seriously nice and close to all the bars etc afterwards. Plus bar has just got Hed Kandi too on a saturday so that should also be good.

Hope this helps, also, we found that the front pool was the best one for people of around our age!
Have a good one

Mark

Lesley W  (01 August 2005)

Hi

Just returned this morning from these apts. We rated our holiday 9/10. My three Children loved it here.Age 14,11,10. The place its self is not a noisy place e.g no loud music playing, but the walls are thin. The first apt we were allocated was room 301t not very nice tiny balcony. The next room was excellent we changed with no problems the staff and rep could not have done more to make is a brill holiday. If you are planning self catering there is not much in the way of cooking facilities, but this is greece.  I took a toaster over with me and it would have been a boon if it worked.(off to shops for a refund!).
If you have an early morning flight you have to que  outside the  airport until it opens! You will also be stung for £50E to keep your room on so you need to budget for that.
The kids played pool on an evening 2E  a game which i thought was expensive, but it kept the kids entertained. The kariokee was also a big hit with the two youngest.  We never had a bad meal at any of the restaurants we visited.  Would recommend hiring a car to see the Island as it is very beautiful.  The kids also enjoyed the water park and was well woth the 44e(after2.30pm).  Thanks to everyone we met they were a great crowd. If any of the duch crowd read this,we beat you at pool, but not the water football, you were too young and fit
Missing the place already,

Hi Shirley F thanks for the info looks like we will have to do a bit of kids entertainment ourselves!! I have read some good things and some not so good, but generally the comments have been good. Thanks again.

Shirley F  (30 July 2005)

reply to paula our children age range was 5-13yrs if your kids like lounging about the pool or beach during the day thats fine. Not much to do at night for the kids. The Wild Rose pub had a some entertainment but not every night. The resort is quite small with plenty  restraurants and small supermarkets. Laganas is a short distance away about 20min walk along the beach or taxis charge about 8 euros. Laganas is a busy resort with plenty shops pubs discos and restaurants to be quite honest its what you decide to do to make your holiday enjoyable. We went on a couple excursions which were great we hired a car for a few days to get round the Island some of the scenery is breathtaking especially the shipwreck we enjoyed our trip to turtle island and seeing the turtles the kids will enjoy. Tip if you go to the shipwreck by car do not wear flip flops paths are not great.

Hi all me and three others are flying out to arkadianos on 1st september! Heard some fantastic reviews about the appartments but heard some really awful ones too! Hope there is more truth in the pleasant comments than the negative ones! Can anyone reccomend any good restaurants to eat at locally or any good bars to visit? Really looking forward to getting out there and meeting all the staff, they sound like a really fun bunch! If anyone has any ideas on whats available for four 21 year olds we would be really grateful! Many thanks , Jo et al !

Paula N  (29 July 2005)

my family and friends are coming out august 06 our kids ages range from 5-14 will there be things for all of them to do as we have been told the kids club will not be running ?

Shirley F  (28 July 2005)

Have just come back the apartment we had you could hear all from the reception area especially at night. Apartment was roomy for us all but wasnt cleaned all the time we were there. As with other comments made dont expect to cook very much your very limited with the cooking facilities. The resort not ideal for younger teenagers not much to do at night.

Got back on the 15/07, had an amazing time. Went out with a mate, Martyn and we made some really good friends- Whom i'm sure we will be meeting up again with soon! If I hadn't used all of my holiday i'd be back in a heartbeat!! Eri's a cool guy, I loved working (was it really working though?! More like pouring shots for everyone!!) behind the bar!

If you read this Andy I hope you are well. Enjoy your return trip!!

we found the apartments cramped,6 of us in a 1 bedroom apartment.very noisy at night as you could hear every footstep outside the apartment, next door snoring the other side bottles and glasses smashing and partying half the night.the beds very very hard and uncomfortable.pool was a nice size, staff friendly, aghios sostis has about half a dozen shops and restaurants.20 to 30mins walk along the beach to lagana.DO NOT USE SPRING TOURS for days out as they have a tendancy to rip you off.dont plan on cooking to much.

Ian,  We had the same concerns from seeing some of the reviews last year. Can only say we stayed in the Theresa bit at the back and had no problems whatsever with noise. We had a great time are are returning again this year -  nice place with friendly people. Less than a month to go for us now - get the beers lined up Joanne we  look forward to meeting you all at the Breezer.

Ian W  (17 July 2005)

Have just booked and have heard that it is very noisy at night - is this true?  Are we going to get any sleep?

Alot of the comments sound great, so maybe it is just a few with bad experiences.

Andrew C  (13 July 2005)

Was hoping to go away end of August after our wedding as a little honeymoon but think Stacey may want me to herself (God knows why!!) instead of spending so much time with the lads and at the bar, but never say never, alternatively we may try for end of september begining of August. Anyone else going this time?

Joanne G  (13 July 2005)

Hi  Andy.  Glad to see you are back in 1 piece.

Only 3 weeks and 2 days to go.  Can't wait.

When is your next visit?  Soon I bet.  Anyway luv to you and Stacey from us all.

Well, here I return from another painful trip away. The reason I use the word painful is two fold. Firstly because I hate it when I have to leave, and secondly, the pain in my kidneys and liver lol.

Wonderful weather and a great big thank you to all the staff there. I know we mention eri and tori a lot but I would like to say a big thank you to all.

A big hello to Tracy, Mary and Sandy, also Steve and Diane, Paul Cath and the girls, Andy & Linda and all the other people we met this time out. It feels like we are all one big family now. We will all have to decend one year for a reunion lol

All those that are on their way out I hope you have a great time. I am already missing working at Breezer Bar but I am sure I will be there soon

Love to all
