Roula Studios

We have just come back from Roula Apartments, Alykes, Zante. We had a very enjoyable two weeks with Eleni and her family, who couldn't do enough for us.   The weather was very hot and the pool very inviting.   Everything was spotlessly clean.   The Clio next  was also very good for their excellent food and lovely pool and bar.    A very enjoyable holiday!  From Pam, Alan, Julie and Tony from Sheffield

Ive just booked a Holiday with my Fiance to Alykes and are going to be staying in the Roulla. We have seen all the comments which make this place sound amazing and i cant wait to go. Im just wondering what the night life is like nearby? is it any good? as we are fairly young, we want a nice relaxing holiday but would like a good night out in the 2 weeks that we are there. My fiance is also VERY fussy when it comes to food! im just wondering what sort of food do they have there too? if theres nothing he likes he will have to starve for 2 weeks! lol

Just got back from the Roulla, there is aircon but we never needed it, so have no idea on price, the sun doesn't shine directly on the balcony, and there is usually a cooling breeze.
Eleni likes Terry's All Gold if you have any spare choccy space in your case!!

We are off to the Roulla Studios next Sunday (8th Aug) - Can't wait   We have been to Alikes a few time before, but never the Roulla Studios. They sound very good from (most!) peoples view, lookign at what people have written here, and on other holiday websites.

Just returned home yesterday.  Yet another fantastic (and too quick) 2 weeks with eleni Sakis roulla and efi!  Still the same friendly hospitality, nothing is too much trouble!  great to meet some new families who had a fab time too!  Cant wait for our return on 24th August 09   -  363 days and counting.  Will post pics as soon as uploaded!!  xxx

This is the best place to stay in Alykes (in fact Zakynthos).  This will be our 5th year with Eleni, Sakis, Efi and Roulla.  Our 12th in Alykes.  Could not ask more for friendly family service and being made to feel part of the family.  It is like staying in your own private villa with pool but with a few friends old and new.  Definately the place to book if you have youngsters (ours are 6 & 9).  Can be booked via Alikes.com web site at very good value for money.  Have become great friends with Eleni and Sakis over the years. Mr Silva at the Clio opposite also provides a warm welcome and can often be seen sitting with Eleni and Sakis having an Oozo into the wee small hours.

Once again we have had a really great time there with you and your family at the number 1 place to stay on Zante. Thankyou so much for organising sam and terry at the panorama,they also said they would come back again soon.As we dont have to say but i will the rooms are excellent and the pool is the best. We are on countdown to our 4th stay with Eleni and family at Roulla Studios on 10 June.  Also booked for September of this year. Now that we have found heaven on earth, wouldn't want to go anywhere else, although there is a great big world out there to explore, Kath and Mick

Just returned from our third visit to Roulla and Efi apartments. Already booked twice for next year. Eleni is definitely the 'STAR' of the Ionian Islands. Each visit has just got better and better. The hospitality shown to us is second to none.  The worst part of each holiday has been saying goodbye to Eleni, Sakis, Roulla, Efie and Soulla.  Can't wait for next year.  Kath & Mick, Stoke on Trent.

Well what can we say except to agree with the Beer family !!!,we saw them often and we were the quiet ones upstairs.Eleni is the perfaect host and would anything to help if she can....cant you NURSE !. The pool is great and everything is kept spotless and yes we are coming agian next year for three weeks this time...two seems never enuff !!!.Love to you all there and all who remember us from northampton and stafford = RUSSELL,FIONA,KIERAN & PHIL,MANDY.OWEN AND CAM XXXX

My husband and I have just spend two absolutely fantastic weeks at the Roulla apartments in Alykes. Eleni runs it along with her husband and some help from their pretty daughters too, she is an absolute gem! We were greeted with a very friendly smile and shown round our apartment which was without any doubt totally worthy of more than two stars. The cleanliness is excellent, set next to a gorgeous mountain backdrop - just perfect! Eleni couldn't help us enough and had a neverending smile! We were very sad to have to come home and without any doubt will return next year! (we can't wait!)

Roulla appartments were brill, i dont know about you but when i go away i use my apartments to sleep shower and change in. i dont entertain there and i am in there about 2hours when i' awake and so the fact that i dont have all the mod cons really doesn't bother me. so for any1 expecting to stay in their apartments and who have stayed in posh hotels all there life then this isnt for you. i didnt have any problems here the room was cleaned every 2-3 days which is fine your the 1 making the mess and every 2 days the room is tidied which is good. the owner is a very nice and the apartments are very appealing to the eye with colourful flowers all around you. i really liked the place and it had everything you need!!

These comments may fly in the face of others on this site but here goes. We booked the Roulla Appartments (The ones in Alykes by the Salt Plains, Panorama and Akis apartments - just to avoid confusion) in part based on comments from this site and we were very dissapointed. Rooms were supposed to be cleaned every day (according to our rep) they missed 4 days during the 2 weeks including the final 2 days. Even after cleaning we had to clean the bottoms of our feet after walking around the appartment before we put shoes on or got into bed. Sheets only changed once during our 2 week stay. We had to buy toilet paper ( apparently according to the rep this usual in Greece- but we have been self catering in Greece for 8 years and this is a first). Toilet (and toilet brush) cleanliness very poor. Toilet took 4 days to repair when it was faulty. Family gatherings in the seating area outside our rooms until late (past 12pm), great if you like chatting but not good when you want to go to bed. The area is quiet around the appartments which is great except on the nights when they have Greek/Kareoke evenings in two of the adjoining hotels Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays if I remember correctly). All in all a very dissapointing experience.

Fab holiday, 10 mins walk from safe sandy beach but away from noise of Alikes main street.  Owner Eleni and her 2 children great fun, very helpful, family loved them.  Lack of pool no problem - Akis and Clio pools v. close.  Greek night at Panorama excellent value and v. entertaining. Couldn't fault Roula Studios at all.
