Absolutely beautiful location next to the beach and very romantic during the sunset. The food was great. We loved the live band they had playing and the staff were very friendly. Great for a romantic and relaxing evening.

We would like to say a big thank you to Stakis and family for our excellent meals we have enjoyed this year and the previous 17 years.
The view over the bay (wind permitting) is as Clair says 'to die for@.
See you all next year.

We had lunch here once and found the service and food good. The setting is lovely overlooking the sea. Didnt get to go again as like trying lots of places.

Emma M

Nice setting. Crap food and very poor service. Went once, wont go back.

John  and I (Margaret) thought the food was great we came here for our wedding  meal last year 10th July  04 and this year for our first wedding anniversary and caught the sunset again,  it was brill.  We made the mistake  in thinking that the horse and carriage that brought us here would take us back but they are not allowed too, which was a nightmare as i had dislocated my knee and could not walk very far , but the owners were great and got the waiter to drive us back in his car to the Whitehouse Studios. Cannt thank them enough . See you in July 2006.

This place is amazing.   I have been to alikanas 5 times and we always eat here on at least the first and last night so that we can watch the sun set over the beach. Its beautiful. The food is always good especially the traditional greek food. Me and nik my sister will definately be sitting there on the 21st of august this year. Cant wait.

Roy B

Definite no-no this one.  Can't believe it's rated so highly, location on the beach was nice but the service was poor and the food absolutely diabolical.

Kleftiko was more like a poor stew with little or no meat, souvlaki was tough and pretty bland and the side dishes were just canned mixed veg.  Avoid this one like the plague.

Sophie D

We only went to the Neraida once, as we wanted to try as many places as we could, but it beat all the other places hands down.

Great selection of food, and the meals were a good quantity, great quality and very reasonable price.  We got a free plate of watermelon and a half kilo of wine!
If we ever go back to Zante, we'll definitely eat at Naraida more often.

Kev & Nat

all the family really enjoyed are meal here, very good location on the seafront and good meals and service. give it a try.

Rebecca G

Just returned last week from Alykanas and, once again, Nerieda was tops - food, service, price, location all excellent.  The best taverna in Alykanas (and our little ones agreed too!).  If you like it here, you should also try Costas which is also owned by the Tsoukalas family.  We didn't try it until the back end of our second week and would have gone back if we'd had more time (but it just had to be Nereida for our last night).

Becca S

This is one of the best-value places to eat in Alykanas. I have always received polite, friendly and enthusiastic service from the owners. They do a lovely Greek salad, seafood, stuffed peppers and good cuts of meat... the wine is of a good variety at a reasonable price and the location of this restaurant-- right on the beach at Alykanas-- ensures that one has an unrivalled view of the Ionian coastline as the sun sets of an evening.

This restaurant is also really good as a midway point between Amoudi and Alykanas during the hot days!

Jan & Mick

The traditional greek and fish meals are excellent and well priced.
The service is friendly and helpful and the view over the bay is the best in the resort. The sunset is magical.

Suzi D

the food here was lovely - we went on our first day and were impressed by the big roast potatoes and lovely stuffed veg. however, the drunk who kept playing his clarinet (abysmally) and asking for money put us off ever going again. the owner was giving him litres of wine at a time too!

John H

ONLY WENT THERE ONCE AND NEVER WENT BACK THE FOOD WAS RUBBISH

Peter M

Good meal and good service in a great location (although a bit chilly being right on the seafront but the views make up for it). Worth the walk to get there!

Mike M

We went along for a Thursday Greek night which, frankly, made up for the overall averageness of the evening. The music and dancing were entertaining and the fire dance was particularly enjoyable. Unfortunately, somewhere behind the scenes the chef was putting on his own fire extravaganza resulting in the Lamb Kleftiko being heavily overcooked.

Gary C

The whole family was not keen on this taverna, food was dissappointing and service not up to standard. We had a 15% discount token from the Alykes.com website and still did not think it was worth it. Didn't go back.

Rebecca G

Just returned from 2 weeks in Alykanas and we loved this place - can't believe anyone putting a negative comment. We stayed at the Beach Village and got the horse & carriage there - the driver (I think his name was Christopher) was really helpful and great with our 4 year old. We went back many times with him as the food and service was excellent, the setting lovely, the play area a godsend and it was very good value. We went to other restaurants which were very good (such as The Lemon Tree and Dionysos) but this was definitely the best. Would highly recommend it.

Colleen B

We ate here quite alot as it was cheap and the food was absolutly delisious. Some nights the restaurant was packed. Sulle who works there is a real star and the rest of the staff are really nice and friendly. Every body go there for a meal. Thanks for looking after us.

Lulu L

We didn't eat dinner here but had lunch on several occasions and each time was lovely. Great service and delicious, real tasting greek food. reasonable prices and a lovely view of the bay. This taverna has been there for 35 years, pre resort days!

Al &

This restaurant was lovely. I can't believe all the negative comments. The food and service was great and the view is so beautiful. I must admit the breakfast wasn't to filling but the rest of the food was great. Try it don't be put off by other peoples comment. We loved it

Nick W

Don't bother. The most disgusting meal we had on our holiday was here. Lovely location overlooking the sea and harbour but let down badly by the food.

Peter W

again ok. beautiful view of sunset and sea.

Geoff P

Thanks to Nicos and the rest of the staff at Nereida for excellent service throughout our holiday. Coping with a group our size (29) cant be easy but we were always accomodated. Neirada has one of the best harbour views in Zante, a magical setting.

M&j W

We visited there three times - once for an evening meal, overlooking the small harbour - once for lunch, and once for tea and icecream. All fine apart from the house white wine!

Carly C

We went there on the recomendation that the breakfast was excellent and cheap. This was the worst breakfast I've ever had, half of it was missing most of it was cold the egg wasn't cooked the only thing that was actually cooked and hot was the tomato. If you think the Neraida breakfasts are good you should try the Mill Bar breakfasts, they are excellent, hot and all of it is cooked and the premises are very, very clean!!!!!

Karen F

We only had the breakfast which was 250 euros excellent value.Brilliant location looking out to sea.

David H

we only had breakfast at Neraida but it was easily the best. Only 2.50 euros (£1.66) for 2 eggs, 2 English sausages, bacon, tomato, beans, toast, juice and tea/coffee. Most other places charge around 4.50 euros (£3.00) and this rarely includes both drinks.

Phil M

We went to Zante in early May 2002 and found this taverna on our second night, after which we became regular vistors(every night in fact). Nikos and his wife made us feel very welcome and were extremley generous, and all of the other staff always had a smile on their faces. The food was always excellent and very reasonably priced. The childrens meal was bigger enough for our 6 and 2 year olds to share. As there was five adults in our group we manged to try nearly every dish between us and were never disapointed with any of them. If you get the chance I would highly recommend a visit to this taverna. Try a kilo of the local wine and the special of the day. If you should read this Nikos thanks again for making our holiday special, the seahorse soap dispenser has pride of place in the bathroom and we look forward to seeing you and all the staff in 2003, we have already booked!
