Top hotel, Top rep on island!
We stayed at the Park Hotel for 2 weeks in August. Agree with some of the comments about the food, but all in all had a great holiday. The rooms were kept clean as was the pool. From the hotel it is about a 2 minute walk to the nearest bar (Sandras Bar). It is about a 5 minute walk until it gets a bit more lively but there are loads of bars and restaurants to suit just about everyones taste. The beach was about a 15 minute walk but well worth it. Very clean. They charge 5 Euros for 2 sun beds and umbrella, but well worth it. Also suggest having a morning or afternoon with Spiros on his speedboat - it was fantastic - you event get to have a go at driving!!!
Just had 2 weeks at the hotel park (colditz), well where do i start, the hotel is about 15 mins from the town center, the beach is at least a mile away & in a 40 degree heat you try walking to it, the hotel pool was quite good but the manager & his team were a total disgrace as soon as we stated to complain about the food ...well that was it , they had it right in for us after that,BEWARE THIS HOTEL DOES NOT CATER FOR KIDS ,drinks are exspensive , look out for the CHEF from hell,i dare you to put more than one item on your plate... i mean it he will have you ,portland direct rep just did not want to know , during the 2 weeks that me & my family were there (18july / 1st aug), i kid you not there must have been 80 % of the guests went down with this bug , some were saying it was the pool ,but i think it was the food, beware you will be kept company while eating your meal by the entire population of flies that are on the island, also look out for the butch lady who runs the restaraunt, dont cross her either, as for entertainment .....not a lot really, a greek night that was ok to be fair , a pool tournement & a quiz night thats yer lot. Away from the hotel there were some nice bars & shops , when we got round to going to the beach it was worth it , its a great beach water & beach very clean , visit zante town if you can its got some nice shops & take my advice go in the eve , plenty to do & see.all in all we had a good holiday , the hotel is a total shambles i feel sorry for anybody who happens to be put in it especially if you have kids or if you are elderly , if you complain nothing will be done.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.......
PRICE LIST FOR SEPTEMBER 2003 PLEASE
we have just come back from a 14 night stay at this hotel. We found the food selection was very poor.Breakfast was the worst, there was cold scrambled egg one day and boiled the next day and so on, warm ham, cold beans. We have two teenage sons with us,the entertainment for the whole 2 weeks consisted of 2 pool tournaments and a greek night. Beware of the extra costs for air conditioning (€7 per night) and fridges (€2 per night)but for the duration of your stay not per night. Evening meal was ok for adults but not for children, it was nearly cold. The dessert was ice cream every day until the revolt. There was a lot of complaints from guests about this and the food was then heated up. many guests were taken ill with a sickness and diarhoeah virus, including ourselves. Drinks are expensive at the hotel, a bit cheaper in the local bars, but this is due to the euro.
There was also alot of room changes for the guests, due to over booking.
does any1 no if u have a fridge or were 2 get a fan? is the food nice how often does room and towels get cleaned and si it hot in aug?
We stayed at the Park Hotel 1/6/03 for 14nts.Two adults & infant. The room was a bit on the small side, and not much storage. No hangers. The rooms were kept clean but could do with updating. The owner has just put the price of the air conditioning up to 7euros per night.Beware if you have it for one night you have to have it for the rset of your holiday. The childrens pool is slightly dangerous for young children, because of the step up to get into it.It was also dirty and not cleaned regular. We stayed B&B, bread, cheese, orange juice not much more,no food for children, even on half board.Food & drinks are dear at the pool bar,3euros a beer.No showering facilities on departure day.Needed when you leave resort at 1800hrs and vacated the room at 10am.It's a 15-20min walk to the center, but nice.It was very hot 40+
Really looked after, couldn't do enough for us! Caterina is an absolute darling!
Sian - can confirm you will find it HOT!! We have in the past either hired a fan, or even taken a couple of small 10" fans in our luggage - kept them on all night. Would also like to know about facilities available at the Park Hotel - tea & coffee making in rooms? I think there's a fridge - Good tip - put two small bottles of water in the icebox the night before you head for the beach or a day out - then you have something to quench your thirst that you know will have no side effects!! Will be visiting myself in July - will try and post info when I return - Have a great stay!!
Please can someone tell me if there are tea and coffee facilities available in the hotel rooms. I am also slightly concerned about how hot it will be when I am visiting Zante ( August ) Is it possible to sleep at night or is it unbearable. I would be really interested in anyones experiences. Thankyou
Just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Park Hotel. Very friendly staff, very clean, good food and excellent location,(although I do think 1/2 mile to the beach is slightly out).Would definitely return.
Is it possible to book direct with the Park Hotel ?
Hotel was fantastic. Very clean and the staff were lovely especially Nicos the barman and Ilyas the owner. Would definitely go again and would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone.
Any information re Car Hire ? we are coming to stay at the The Park Hotel for two weeks from Sept 9 th. Rgds Dennis (Sale - Manchester)
We are coming to stay at the Park Hotel with relatives that have stayed there several times before. They are very complimentary about the Park Hotel and we are looking foward to it very much. However I am trying to sort out Car Hire in advance and am not having much joy. Can anyone provide information re local car hire in Tsilivi please ? Dennis Finnegan - Sale - Manchester
Towels changed every 3 days instead of daily. You will never want to see another hard boiled egg as long as you live! Apart from these two criticisms the hotel was excellent.
We stayed in the Park two years ago and it was excellent. Very clean, good location, nice pool, friendly staff. We are going back this year - the first time we have ever been tempted to go to the same place twice!! Mark & Lyn.
