This one was our favourite this year.  Everything was wonderful, food, service, friendliest people we have met.  Thank you all we look forward to seeing you all soon. Good luck for the rest of the season.XX

We visited the Hera 5 times during our two week stay. Everything was first class. The waiters spoke English and they were well dressed and polite. The melon was a really nice end to a delightful meal.

We ate here a few times and the food was lovely and the service was great.The best dish of the day was the dark haired waiter!

I have just got back from having a fantastic time in Kalimaki. We ate out ever night and tryed loads of restaurants and found that Hera was the best. We also went to Mermaids and was bitterly disappointed and would not reccomend it.

Hi to all the staff Especially Fredi and Armando,had a lovely holiday,me mum and my sister! We ate in Hera most evenings as the food was lovely and all the staff very friendly. Look forward to my next visit to Kalamaki to see a certain someone.xxx

We had our best meals here, and I have to agree with Rosie, the lamb kleftico, and the beef stifado are to die for!!!!! Very friendly staff.

Best Lamb KLeftiko I have ever had. As well as a  shot after your meal you also got a plate of melon which was lovely. Will definately eat here again upon my return.

i though the place was fantastic and that includes the food and service aswell the staff were friendly (and unbeleivably fit!!!!) i wish we could go back and stay for another week when we went on the 23rd  june to the 7th of july i didnt want to go home i stayed at the hotel marelen and we went on a mission to find the best resteraunt in kalamaki  and the hera won hands down!!! i happen to have one request though whilst staying at the hotel marelen i spotted in the pool this really lush boy   he was greek but gorgeous i never spoke to him by the pool but then when we went to the hera resteraunt i found out although he looked young he actually worked there! all through my meal i couldnt take my eyes of him but the only contact i had with him was when he asked me to give him five and said are you that girl i saw by the pool? i was chuffed he remembered me  and later my younger cousin told me he thinks his name was leo i never saw him again but even now i think about him every day my one and only request is if somone knows this boy or leo if you do read this please keep in touch if you do  know how to contact him please reply yo this message many thanks lauren xx    

just come back from kalamaki on july 8th ,we had a couple of visits to the HERA resteraunt and we found the food very nice , especially try the lamb kleftiko absolutely delicious , me and my family cant wait to go again

We loved this restaurant, the food was great but the staff were the best, they were so efficient and so friendly and mannerly.  They were so nice to our little one year old baby Poppy.  We would defintely recommend this to anyone. 

Over our two week stay in Kalamaki this had to be our favourite restaurant, we went 4 times overall and had a brilliant meal every time.  We went to Hera on our first night and had delicious meals and although our main meals took a while to come they gave us a free glass of wine.We also chose this restaurant on the last night when we had the Chateaubriand, which was delicious and presented really nicely.  This restaurant has a really good choice of food and the waiters are very friendly - we really recommend it!

Had two fantasitic meals here. Food very good and waiters work hard.

We loved this restaurant - our children generally freaked out and broke glasses, screamed, threw bread etc and we had to pay and leave early but they didn't make us feel uncomfortable, we were sorry we couldn't get back as it was near the end of the holiday (although they were probably quietly pleased?!!)

excellent food we really enjoyed it but unfortunately paid price next day as Swordfish really didnt agree with me

I only regret we didn't go to Hera every night!! This is Greece as it used to be in the 70's, friendly and lovely. We were treated as loved friends and the food was just mouth wateringly exellent. The service was warm and friendly wenn a lot of the other restaurants were rather jaded and sick of tourists (not that I do not understand them) I'll be back - the best of the best in Greece.

To Hera: every possible star!! We were eight in our party, including two children who were made much of. The food is excellent, everyone is just incredibly friendly and service is always with a big smile. We'll be back next year. On our last evening it started to rain, and the owner organized two cars to take us back to the hotel all free! W

Me and my family ate here 2 or 3 times, the food was fantatic and completely worth the visit. We enjoyed the whole ethos in this place. I would highly recommend you try this restaurant very good value. I'm going back next year and will be going back to eat at Hera.

i am staying at the sirene apartments is the hera close to them ? also can anyone tell me what other places to eat i am near.i have been told that the sirene is on the main route from kalamaki to laganas.thanks

NORMA,IT IS ON THE MAIN ROAD FROM KALAMAKI TO LAGANAS ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE ROAD AS THE OLIVE TREE,ACROSS THE PANDASIA.

ANOTHER GREAT PLACE TO EAT,THIS YEAR I TRIED THE SWORDFISH,IT WAS MORE THAN EXCELLENT,ALL THE FOOD SERVED IS FRESH,AND VERY TASTY,SEA FOOD HERE IS A SPECIALITY,WELL DONE HERA !!!!!

Superb! Anthony was exceptional to us and no dount the other staff as well. Must try the Lamb Kleftiko which is really nice. Best Restaurant in Kalamaki, maybe Zante? Will post pics v.soon...

we were at hera restaurant this year july 2004. the staff were brilliant.there was a big welcome every night when we went you never felt rushed.the owners have two boys which we seen most nights very well mannered little boys.we are going back in may 2005 cant wait for the taste of that scrummy food again.loved the lamb in the oven and mussel sakanaki. also my white local wine. ps the waiters speak very good english so less chance of getting wrong order.

HAD FRIED CHEESE/TARAMISALAD FOR STARTERS.LAMB IN THE OVEN/BEEF STEFANO FOR MAIN.FOOD WAS OK BIT BLAND.WENT IN AT 8.30 AND THE WAITERS TOOK SO LONG DECIDED TO NOT HAVE SWEET AS WE WHERE THE ONLY ONES LEFTIN THE PLACE AND STILL NO SIGN OF A WAITER.

SITUATED ON THE MAINROAD FROM KALAMAKI TO LAGANAS,THE HERA IS ANOTHER GREAT PLACE TO EAT,ALL THE FOOD IS FRESH AND THEY HAVE A SPECIALS BOARD OUTSIDE,WHEN WE VISIT THE HERA,A WARM RECEPTION,GREATS YOU.AT WEEKENDS YOU WILL SEE THE OWNERS FAMILY EATING HERE.I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL DISHES HERE,ALL A TREAT TO HAVE,FISH DISHES ARE VERY POPULAR HERE TOO,ENJOY !!

The food is great and the staff are unbelievable ( wow! ). Great service from all. I would go again whenever I had an oppertunity. Suitable for all families.

We visited Hera's on several occasions we always had fantastic meals. I can particully recomend the mixed sloukaki,I would also like to recomend the starter of octopus in vineger it was surprisingly good. It was cooked to perfection. The house wines are also rather nice and the staff wonderfully welcoming and helpful. They also make a great fuss of the children. If you get the chance do have a meal here.

Couldn't fault the Hera.
Superb on every count. Getting a handshake and a thankyou from the waiters as you're leaving is a nice touch too.

Generally I prefer quality to quantity. It is rare when you get both. Excellent food, totally stuffed, couldn't even manage the mandatory couple of bottles of Amstel back at the pool bar!

Although the location of this restaurant is not brilliant, it is overlooking the main road, both the food and service were fantastic! They have a large and varied manu and everything we ordered was tasty and cooked well. The staff were also the friendliest we came across during our visit.

Food at Hera was devine.Very good value and we ate there 3 times on our two week holiday.Excellent variety on menu

The House Red, was palatable -for us anyway!!!
Sparklers in the kids ice cream,Very friendly and can easily accomodate our pushchair.

The Hera is located on the road leaving Kalamaki on the left, on the way to Laganas, a few hundred metres past the turning to the airport. At this junction, above the car hire is the Buon Amici. Almost opposite the Hera is the Pandesia. We've had good meals at all these restaurants.

We are due to visit Kalamaki, Zante for the first time on August 31st. Would like to try this restaurant, can anyone tell me how to find it when we get there?

Hera is the best restaurant in Kalamaki. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. The price is very reasonable and we had plenty of wine and water melons on the house! You wont find a restaurant better than this one in the whole of Greece!!!!!!!!!

I have been on Holiday to various Greek Islands 5 times but I must say that the Hera Restaurant is the best I have come across. On our 14 night Holiday we ate there 12 times! The food was excellent as was the service you will have realy missed out on your visit to Kalamaki if you dont eat here!

EXCELLENT RESTAURANT THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS,POLITE,FRIENDLY STAFF,VERY CHILD FRIENDLY PLACE.EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY.STEAK IN PEPPER SAUCE WAS GORGEOUS,SWORDFISH DELICIOUS AND THE KIDS MEALS WERE VERY GOOD TOO.

Can’t think why this has such a low rating, the food was great we were going to try a different place each night, only tried Mermaids (forget that one) Staff were busy but friendly, cost was about 23eu for 2 with wine and Greek coffee and we needed the walk back, to work all the great food off. Recommend the sword fish, this place serves better food than any other Greek island I have been to for the price. So for good value for money and very nice food, give it go. Simon & debs Oct 02

This was by far our favourite restaurant. We tried all of the others that everyone rave's about but we think this was the best. I didn't notice that the service was slow as some have said and our food was never cold - always spot on! No complaints whatsoever!

We ate her 3 times very relaxed, friendly and we love slow service because that is our evening out as long as we have our wine and we are talking and eating then thats what we want

FORMLY KNOWN AS THE ATTIKA AND THEN NOTOS, WE ENJOYED THIS TAVERNA WHICH OFFERS GOOD FOOD AND GREAT WINE (IF YOU CAN GET THE JUG OF TONY KEARNEY). SOUVLAKI RECOMMENDED FOR THE KIDS, MOUSAKA IS A MUST HERE. BEWARE OF THE WINE, ITS STRONG AND POWERFUL, AND YOU MAY GET AN EXTRA LITRE ON THE HOUSE AS WE DID SO YOU MAY HAVE TO STAGGER HOME.

Well done Webmaster for adding this restaurant as requested(only added 02.07.2001)....they deserve it!!! The food in this restaurant was delicious, and full of flavours.The presentation was high and the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. The food is cooked to order, and therefore may take a while longer to appear..dont be put off, enjoy a drink, and the wait will be worth it. I would definately rank this restaurant as equal first alongside Zepos.....dont miss it ! (Hera is on lagunas road appx 10/15 minutes stroll from main centre, the quieter end of Kalamaki, and therefore not as busy)
