I satyed here with my freind the room was good even though we werent in it much, the pool was nice an quiet so helped cure the hangovers and the pool bar did really nice food. Overall its a good place to stay and were goin back next year!!

Mandy N  (18 October 2004)

We just returned from a 1 week stay here..we had a room right above the main entrance on the 2nd floor. The traffic noise wasn't too bad although those greek motorbikes really do scream past quite often.
Staff very good and are British on reception and the bar staff speak fantastic English. Pool bar stays open until 2am (except Sundays it would seem) but on some occasions it was open past 4am - just depends how many people are drinking in the bar, we went swimming at 3am!!! Carols Quiz on a Tuesday was the best fun.
We did have a problem with ants though..saw one or two at the beginning of the week in the bathroom then by the end of the week we were swarming with them. Also there was a sewerage smell coming out of the toilet and drain vent in the floor which was hard to keep away.
Only made breakfast on the day we come home but it was nice..boiled eggs, beans, cereal, bread which you could warm yourself, tea, coffee, orange juice..all self service and as much as you can eat!!
Best place for an evening meal was Romios "They Serve The Food You Like" we went there nearly every night but AVOID The Troc - cheap and nasty food but very expensive...Euro Alfa were the cheapest by far for car hire. Cheapest place for smokes & booze is Maxi Dia the massive supermarket..way cheaper than all the little supermarkets.
Overall a good place to stay..friendly, close to shops, bars & beach but at the end of the day it's Greece so you have to expect poor drainage, bugs and traffic noise I suppose...I would go back here though without a doubt!!!!!!!!

OUR FAMILY, 2 ADULTS AND 3 KIDS, STAYED AT THE JUPITER AT THE BEGINING OF JULY 2004 AND THOUGHT IT WAS BRILLIANT. ALL THE STAFF WERE FIRST CLASS. CENTRAL FOR ALL SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND PUBS BUT OUT THE WAY FOR A QUIET NIGHT IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT. WE WERE THERE FOR THE FOOTBALL FINAL AND I MUST SAY, THE GREEKS KNOW HOW TO PARTY!!!!!!! WILL DEFINATELY BE GOING BACK, SEE YOU ALL SOON XX

Lorna S  (31 August 2004)

Sheila S  (26 August 2004)

I stayed here in June and loved every minute of it. Hotel is clean and basic but very friendly. Hired a fridge....best thing. Small and not a lot of kids and an ideal location. First time on my own and hope to come back next year for a bit longer. Recommend it to anyone.

Jade S  (22 July 2004)

Emma L  (05 July 2004)

We've just returned after a two week stay at the Jupiter/ We dound it to be an ideal location, within a shott walking distance from beach, bars and restaurants. Rooms on the front will suffer from traffic noise, however, we were on the back where it was quieter.

Rooms are an okay size, basic but clean and well maintained. Excellent repair serivce, our ceiling fan stopped working and was fixed within an hour.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to sray here again.

Mike T  (20 June 2004)

For a economy hotel we were impressed, the staff are realy friendly, food and drinks at the pool bar were of good quality and well priced,
The rooms were cleaned every day, As it was hot it was good to have a ceiling fan in the room.
Location is very good close to the beach, bars, shops, and of course the resturants.
All in all a good holiday.

Marion R  (03 June 2004)

This was the 6th time we stayed at the 'Jupiter'.It remains a firmly favourite place as it is ideally placed near to enough bars and restaurants to keep any tourist happy.
The staff are all very friendly indeed and there is always a great welcome to be had from them there.
I've been trying to re-book for a week next May but it seems that maybe am too early as yet as can't find it in the brochure?!
Anyway, thanks very much to all the wonderful staff who always make the holiday so enjoyable:Nikki,Kimon,Stamates,Mr Panos and anyone else I may have forgotten to mention!

Andy T  (20 October 2003)

BASIC! but just about adequate accommodation. They only change the towels twice a week. Would not rush to get up for breakfast in the morning! (its better to buy outside).
Good location on the edge of main bars and restaurants.

Donna K  (14 September 2003)

We stayed 18th Aug -1st Sept 03. This hotel is in a good location...just away from the bars however, it is on the main road..(not like an English main road tho) so there was a bit of traffic noise on the night..nothing to really worry about tho'. The hotel is extremly clean and the staff very friendly. The bar is a bit pricey especially for soft drinks but you do have the alternative to get of your lazy ass and go to the supermarket! Nicky, Kimon , Stamatis Carol(s)(bar and hotel staff),and Harry made our holiday at this hotel as well as guest friends we made and we will definitely go back..no worries!! You will have a lovely holiday here!

Richard C  (26 August 2003)

We visted the Hotel Jupiter between 11-08-03 & 25-08-03 and overall, had a GREAT holiday. The main points to note about the hotel are: -

- A LITTLE NOISEY. Rooms at the front of the hotel face the main road which can be very noisey up until the early hours (2-3.00am). Noise is caused predominantly by the numerous mopeds and motorbikes. However, after a couple of days, you should adjust to the noise levels.

- GREAT LOCATION. The hotel is located approx. 5 minutes walk from Tsilivi and Buka beach (daily sunbed hire 6 euros). Local bars, restaurants and convenience shops are all within walking distance.

- ROOMS/CHARGES. Clean, but basic (maid service daily (laundry changed twice per week)). When we were in Zante, temperatures were approx. 40dc each day. The rooms became very hot/stuffy at night and there is no air conditioning. Fans can be hired from reception at a cost of 15 euros per week, although these should perhaps be provided FREE or included into the cost of the holiday. Other costs you may have to incur are safety desposit box (15 euros per week) and fridge (£25 euro per week).

- ROOM KEYS. What ever you do, always hand in your room key when leaving the hotel. Replacement costs for lost keys are 25 euros.

- POOL BAR. Good offer on from 4.00pm - 7.00pm. Buy one pint of branded beer and get a half free (great for couples). A great way to start the evening and only 3 euros. Drinks a little more expensive after 7.00pm so go to some local bars (numerous in number). Expect to pay around 2.50 - 3.00 euro for a bottle or pint of beer (Amstel, Mythos etc).

- BREAKFAST. Not too bad, albeit typical of Greece and comprising bread, feta cheese etc. However, toasted bread is available (self service if you are prepared to wait), orange juice (of sorts!), cereals, eggs (boiled), jams, fruits and if your lucky, some fairly decent sausage!! (not every day). An English breakfast can be purchased at an additional cost of 3 euros.

- TELEPHONE CHARGES. A word of advice, DO NOT use the hotel telephone if you wish to PHONE HOME. Costs are approx. 1.6 euro per minute. You can buy a phone card from the local shops for 3 euro which will give you at least 5 minutes call time to the UK.

- STAFF. Helpful and always very FRIENDLY.

- OVERALL OPINION. This is Greece so you should not arrive with high expectations. However, despite some minor problems, this is a GOOD HOTEL sited in an excellent location and offering clean accommodation coupled with friendly, helpful staff. Suggested improvements would include: -

- FANS. Free issue/inclusion within hoilday cost &/or fitting of AIRCON to all rooms (only available in two at present). Free use of safe (all rooms have safe, although to obtain keys, you will have to part with 15 euros per week). Use of fridge should remain an optional cost.

- NOISE. Improved sound proofing to front elevation rooms would be a good idea. If you find it difficult to sleep at night, request a rear room (views not as good as front though).

Ian B  (29 July 2003)

Awsome hotel better than many I have been to all over Europe!
Stayed from 14th - 21st July.

Unfortunately we had a view over the back of the Hotel which was pleasent and quite but I would have liked a view over the pool and bar (despite people saying it's noisey).

I went with the missus and we found that we were easily able to get a sun lounger by the pool everyday with out sneaking down at 6 to put your towel down! The loungers also came with comfy thick sponge covers and you got a umbrella between two loungers.

The pool size was fine for the amount of people that used it however it got a little crowded with kids after about the 17th july (halfway through our hol).

The bar was the best part of the holiday.....
*food was delicious and cheap
*beer was excellent value and was poured in a ice cold frosted Stein glasses and was 2.5 euro which some days was 241 unbeleivable value!
*Bar staff very friendly
*Evening/night time - the lights around teh pool would come on making it very romantic and they would have an event every night from Bingo, quiz nights, live music, cocktail nights (1 shot = half a pint!) etc.
Spent every night at the pool either before or/and after going out to eat around town.

The beach and local supermarkets are very close and it is in the middle of everything.

can be a bit noisey from planes flying low overhead and is next to the road but it didn't bother me.

What strikes me is you can't see any photos of this hotel or many reviews on any of these zante websites and yet it was the best hotel I saw!

On a Down-side was that we had to fork out £50 at the start of the holiday to hire the fridge, a crapy fan to condition the room and a safe key.
It was 100 degrees plus every day and being in my room to long was unbearably hot.
Breakfast was a waste of time as all you has was tea, coffee, bread , jam, beans, feta cheese, ham and olives!
no lift!

Definately recommend this hotel and would come back if visiting Tsilivi.

Adam H  (29 July 2003)

We enjoyed our stay here and the staff were great( Carol & Kimon thanks)Greek ladies are also great and made an effort to be friendly. Bar is a bit too pricey.

Melissa O  (23 May 2003)

Stayed at the jupiter in may 2003, enjoyed our stay very much!! rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful, although i didn't agree with having to pay for a phone call for a taxi, all part of a hotel service i feel.Cheaper to drink beer than oj at the bar [hard life eh?] rooms at the front noisey, so ask for a back room. All in all a good holiday, will come back, very soon. Hi to Nicky, Carol and Kimon x

Win&bob T  (13 November 2002)

Had a wonderful time. Great room, fantastic reception staff .wonderful holiday. The trip to Athens and delphi was amazing with a lovely and very knowledgable guide .Coach tour round island similarly well organised .Excellent value

Trish W  (08 November 2002)

went to tsilivi for 2wks in oct 2002 weather started off hot then heavy rain 4 1 day, after that it was spot on. so be prepared for the possible change in weather. breakfast not too good, everday the same thing, but you can buy food cheap enough else where. The lacals arew friendly and cater for the family as well as couples. some really nice tours to go on if bothered or really nice sandy beach not too far away if you prefer! Fridges are in each room but are quite expensive at 30 euros a week (approx £20). all in all will going back next year different hotel though!

David S  (16 August 2002)

We had a great time in Tsilivi and this was helped by having a good hotel. We were on the quite side of the hotel so didn't hear the traffic as some people were telling me about while i was there. The rooms were cleaned regularly and all the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful at all times. I would recommend this hotel but one down point was that the continental breakfast consists of orange juice, tea, coffee, then some cereal and toast! Every now and again you would get some yoghurt, biscuits or a muffin! Apart from that, watch yourself around the pool as it is slightly slippy and have a good time...

Marion R  (30 June 2002)

Next year it will be our fifth trip to Tsilivi and to this hotel..it's like a home from home,so friendly, clean with lovely gardens and ideally placed for access to both beaches and restaurants/bars.This is the only holiday destination that has drawn us back again and again and I cannot see that changing either.

Jessie D  (08 September 2001)

Very friendly and clean hotel, great for both families and couples. Excellent bar and snacks. Great location, not far from beach! Nice pool, though tiles coming off the bottom! Quite alot of noise from main road also.

Kirsty R  (19 August 2001)

This hotel is brillient, it is great for both families and younger couples. The pool stays open till midnight so you can a late night swim. The rooms are very clean and comftable. The only bad thing is that breakfast finishes at 9.30am, we never got up in time to eat! I recomend this hotel to anyone and we'll be coming back next year!!

Jeanette E  (01 July 2001)

Hotel Jupiter Good clean and owner is the spitting image of David Jason!

Margaret B  (16 February 2001)

This Hotel has a wonderful friendly atmosphere, family run and very well maintained. It has a freshwater pool with a pool bar serving snacks as well, (The Tuna salads are excellent) set amongst a well kept Rose garden. The rooms are all well kept and very clean and has a large Reception/Bar area. The Hotel caters for couples as well as families with the owners not being able to do enough for you to make your stay a good one. I can thoroughly recommend this one.
