Ilision

Restaurants in Argassi

We got the free horse and cart to Ilision which was really good. It didn't bring us back though we had to walk. The only bad thing about Ilision was the cats that kept sniffing round the table when you were eating! The meal was one of the best we had and the wine was good and very cheap!

The most authentic greek food we had in Argassi. Very nice. Staff were friendly.

Simon P

Went past it on october 16th..was closed!

Myself and my fiance had hurt so many good reports about this restaurant throughout our stay in Argassi, so we thought we would leave this restaurant to one of our last nights on the island. The restaurant staff were a discrace to other greek people on the island, impolite, unfriendly and very rude. We ordered our main course and starters at the same time, 45 mins later came along our starter (soup), 1 hour later came our main course, which we gave back to the waiter as it was incorrect, and requested the bill, this was the worst restaurant on the island.

This is the one restuarant in Argassi that is worth eating at again and again and again, stunning greek food, meatballs, stifado, roast lamb and most of all Kleftico fantastic, the service was great and price fabulously cheap for the outstanding quality of food. Worth more than one visit.

We visited there on October 7th. service extremely poor, Greek night, all the sevice went to large party from JMC holidays. Food hardly warm and not good for 15 Euros per person. Even more dissapointed two nights later when passing noticed that another Greek night being held, this time 11.70 Euros per person. Restaurant in lovely setting but we would not give the place a second try.

Myself and my daughter, Olivia, ate at the Ilision most nights during our two week stay. The food, service and setting was absolutely wonderful.. we were made to feel very welcome and will definitely return next year! I loved the stuffed tomatoes and spagetti napolitan and Olivia just loved those fish fingers and homemade burgers!!! The greek nights were loads of fun and good exercise!!!

Peter

This was the only restaurant we ate in twice for the fortnight we were there. The food and service were excellent and the horse and cart were novel. We went on the Greek night and it was excellent. Dancing, smashing plates and fire.

Best meal of the holiday. Probably the cheapest as well. Nice surrounds too as it's off the beaten track a little.

Loz H

What a great place this is. Wonderful food, very friendly service and extremely cheap prices !! Try the Greek night when you will be made to get up and join in OPPA !!!!!

Christopher L

Ilision is well worth a visit for anyone. The food was very good, and the service was acceptaqble also. It will not break the bank to eat here a few times :)

Katy W

This was our favourite restaurant in Argassi. We ate there about 5 times in two weeks, including the Greek Night on the Wednesday which was lots of fun. It has more authentic "Greekness" than any other restaurant in Argassi; Argassi being very loud and touristy.

Nadeem B

We absolutly loved this!! Ate with Nikos! Niko niko!! hello baby!!!!! What a great meal would have come most nights but only discoved this on our last night with our good friend nikos! What a great last night - great food, great company - what more could u want. Nad and laura

Don't miss Elena restaurant next door on same side thta has a free ride from Supermarket across (and down a bit) from Beer Acadamy. Do the Elena early in your stay as its last night lets do it again standard.

Rod S

Good greek night on a wednesday for set price of 11.90 euros. kids same price.

Catherine

A must to try, a bit off the beaten track but so peaceful away froim the crowds. Food excellent and such good value, local wine very good and cheap. Waiters always smiling and would try to have a laugh and joke.

David W

A BIT OUT OF THE WAY, BUT IF YOU FANCY A STROLL OR A FREE HORSE AND CART RIDE (FROM THE MAIN ROAD NEAR TO THE FACTORY) THEN WELL WORTH A VISIT. THE FOOD IS GOOD AND VERY REASONABLY PRICED

Fiona D

The best greek night in our opinion. Dancers, plate smashing, and setting the taverna on fire all added to the atmosphere. Value for money.

Smiffy S

Both the Ilision and the Eleana are slightly off the main drag and therefore thankfully unlikely to attract "Manchester Man". They are proper Greek taverna type restaurants and hence the ambience is much better than those pandering to those who want "English Nosh". The Tuesday "Greek Night" in the Ilision is good, but at the slight expense of the food being less good.(Should-nt every night be a "GReek Night"?-we are in Greece after all!)

Tracey - no websites for these places. Very few of the businesses on Zakynthos have websites, or even use the internet!!!

Tracey

Can you please tell me if there are web sites for the following: Ilision restaurant Castaways Restaurant Elana Restaurant Dolfin Supermarket Picadilly Restaurant

Tracey

An absolute must. Off the beaten track but free horse & carriage transport outside Dolfin Supermarket. Pretty setting & authentic feel. The Greek Night on Tuesday's is very good value & entertainment is lively (complete with plate smashing & fire-lighting!). Pedros & Nikos, the brothers who own it are also pretty dishy too, which may have swayed our opinion! As well as the Supermarket they also own Elana Grill Restaurant & Castaways which are all worth a try. Many thanks Pedros & Nikos - We hope the Alfa Romeo Spider continues to draw admirers & sorry we could not come to see Carretta, Carretta!! Perhaps next time?(Tracey & Heather, near Birmingham)

great food, excellent service, also waiter was very good looking.

This place is in a lovely position, v pretty, however we were not very impressed. We went to one of the 'Greek nights' so can't really comment on the normal menu. The 'Greek night consisted of a starter plate then roast pork/chicken or lamb, not what we would call Greek. The food was below average and this was one of the worst meals we had, dessert was meant to be included but we were never offered it. The grrek dancing was good but the Greek night at Target was 100 times better.

Connie B

The most authentic taverna in Argassi. It's away from the main road so lovely and peaceful.

Elaine C

This was definately the best resturant we tried and had to stop ourselves just keep going back. The food was excellent, good value for money and well presented. The setting was lovely away from all the buzz and zip. You actually felt like you were on a Greek island. You cannot stay in Argassi and not eat here.

Janet

Good restuarant, worth going on a Tuesday when it's Greek Night, probably the best greek night on the island!! but beware you will also end up Dancing!!!!

Martin S

Bob the barman from the Iliessa Beach Hotel knows the owner of this place and recommended it to us. We went and it was Greek night with traditional dancing and a set traditional menu. Food and dancing was great although when they set fire to the front of the restaraunt for the finale, we all nearly went up with it!

Kris M

Excellent restaurant, very good food and nice people.

David M

Great restaurant, owned by Panayotis (A.K.A. The Secretary). The chef used to work at the restaurant opposite "Edem" however he was head hunted. Both restaurants are good, so it's worth going there and if one is too busy you can always try the other. Panayotis the owner is very fond of "Bears", so if you want to amuse yourself, tell him you've just seen a wild bear in the olive groves behind his restaurant. He is also justifiably proud of his sports car- which we call the Yellow Sardine Tin.Don't tell him that!
