perkes hotel is really good too.. we had an amazing time there!! we were all well worried cause of the reviews being so bad but it totally wasn't what we expected and was sooo much better!!! Wish we were going back next year!!!!

It Dosen't really matter wat month you go really...

Some people think that june is too early and august is too late... but thats rubbish...

We went 1st week of july last year and it was rammed, and is constantly full from june through to august.. so dont be picky...

Im heading down the travel agents soon to book for last week of june or 1st week of july and i cant wait...

i'm pretty sure the owners are gonna welcome us with open arms after our performance at the hotel last year...

dont listen to any of the bulls**t people put in their comments. its greece, you get wat you pay for wherever you stay, and trust me, its not that bad a hotel, infact, its rather good compared to the others i got to view during my visit lol. its not a long walk at all, after a few drinkys in the hotel room or bar, you dont care how far you walk, just spice it up and pub crawl your way in...

reccommend a chinese in "steves" 9 euros all you ca eat, but if blag him a little, hes a lovely guy and he'll knock it down

all in all you'll love zante and the perkes is definately the place to be in zante...

Hullo guys,

we were in Perkes last week in May, first week in June - it was about or 7th time at Perkes - Nik and Rachel and the kids, Robert, Carol, Margaret and Tassi, and of course Scot and Vikki, great buddies, made us feel at home and part of the family yet again.

For those of you reading mixed reviews, the pool is great and clean - although people will insist on slapping on the oil then going for a dip - Scotty works hard to keep it clean for you, so think on. There's chlorine in the pool same as here - it kills the germs, so the fewer dirty things we do in the pool, the less is needed. There's a shower at th eside of the pool, but people won't use it before getting in.

The maids are all very polite and helpful, but they won't be able to change your beds/towels/clean your room if you're lying alseep in there all day.

It's a continental breakfast you get as part of the deal - it's in the brochure, and if you don't get to see the brochure your travel agent should tell you this. Notwithstanding this, they have a great breakfast menu, prices starting about 3 euro, from 10am onwards. They do a full menu from 10 til 10, the food is great, and reasonable priced. The Perkes platter for two will stuff you in no time, and everything is always cooked to order from fresh. If there's something in particular you fancy, its worth asking - they try to be as accommodating as possible.

The family stay on the premises, so don't take the rip please, and remember to keep volume down when you bounce home in the wee small hours. Families do stay here for their holidays as well you know- you dont like doors slamming during the day when you're catching up sleep from being out the night before, so think about the kids when you get in in the middle of the night. If you want a club 18-30 hotel, as for that when you book.

The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable - you can pay extra for a telly, and a fridge, and aircon. If you can't get the aircon cold, ask for help - it does work if you press the correct buttons.

During the winter all rooms are repainted, and everything refreshed for the next season - if someone splats a mosquito in May it's there for the rest of the year, so don't do it - Hotels cannot go round repainting rooms when people check out, they'd have the painters in every day, and people would complain about the smell. If you get mossies, get a mossie plug it'll cost you about 5 euros for the plug and tablets, and if you do sit on the balcony with the french doors open all evening before you go out, they will fly in.

Breakages will be paid for, so don't think about trashing the room for a laugh - things have to be fixed, and tradesmen need to be paid, and it won't be appreciated if you smash the toilet like one fella did when we were there.

It's not the closest hotel to the main action or the beach, but it makes up for it by being on the well lit main road, and away from the hustle and bustle of the day time on the strip (when you catch up on your sleep). It's 4 euros down to the strip in a taxi, about a 15 minute walk to the start of the action, but there's loads of great restaurants and bars on the way down - Butterfly indian/chinese is good - do the buffet, family Taverna and Paradise Taverna ain't too bad either.

With regards the "Australian guy" - that's Nik - it's his family's hotel, and he can more than cope with smart a***s - he's seen it all before, and believe me, you will not get one up on him. He is not an idiot. Remember - when you check in he takes your passport.

If you do intend staying here next year be respectful of their hotel and thoughtful of others and you'll have a great time.

What can i say.Nice pool bar and staff and bar food.

the location is quiet some far out. The rest of the place is a dump. Barking dogs

all night. slamming of doors, matresses that give you a sore back and bed mites.that

bite like fck.I would not advise anyone over thirty to stay here.Its more a bunkhouse. It also has

air/con that does not get cold. I would not even tell the homeless about this place.

Was glad to move out and pay for the last three nights in vivians.( heaven).

nicole, danielle, abi, jenna, louise & bryony got back on the 17th of july!!

perkes hotel was amazing, the staff are very friendly and the night watchman yani is actually amazing!!

we were worried about going after reading older reviews but trust me you'll love it!

its about 5 minutes in a taxi to the strip but i wouldn't advise you to walk at night its only about 4 euros in a taxi.

walking during the day and going to the shops is nice.

the hotel foods lovely and well priced, we always ate there at lunch and had a mcdonalds later on haha!

we mainly went to rescue, wild coyote (the dentist chair is lethal), cherry bay and zero's.

legends is also a nice place to eat and scottish john is lovely.

just watch out if you break anything in the room because trust me you wil be charged for any damage.

we were in rooms 104 & 105 and for the people that said the dogs were a nightmare trust me there cute, you cant hear a thing.

the hotel maids were polite and change the towels and sheets about every 2/3 days, if you ask them nicely they will give you more.

if you do decide to go to wild coyote then ask for a "f**k me up" there amazing, home made cocktails!!

we met soooo many great people that we will be keeping in contact with love yaaaas!!

lets just say for our first holiday abroad together the perkes hotel made it even better, we all had an amazing time and are trying to book up again for next year!!!!!

Got back from Zante on thr 10th July, was a brill holiday the night life is brill and the weather was boiling hot every day - at least 40 degrees!!!!

2 of the best bars are pink panther (bit of karaoke) and cocktails and drems

Hotel Perkes was good but got taxis to the beach in the day cos it was too hot to walk, but cheap enough in a taxi.

You'll have a brill time and if theres any room in anyones suitcase just let me know!

where to start....

just got back from zante about an hour ago... after not sleeping the whole last 2 days

neway... perkes is the place to be, tidy staff, and the pool area is lively in the day...

dont listen to the people who say its a long walk 2 the strip cos wen ur bolloxed you dont exactly give a f**k, and it aint that long neway.... just boiling!!!

but make sure u dont f**k anything up in the hotel, cos u will be doing wat we done and that fork out alot of cash cos the australian guy does not piss about...

missing zante already, not good 2 be home, all good things come to an end tho ehh...

team tidayy girls, you were all awesome, got soo much time for u all... but 1 in particular done it for me

i got bak on monday after stayin in perkes for 2 weeks! i had am amazing hol the hotel is basic but the all the staff r great! the pool bar is good value for money and the food wasnt 2 bad ate there most days! i would defo go back and stay there again! only down fall was the dogs out the back of my room 108 the r loud wen u r trying 2 sleep in the morning! the walk 2 the main strip isnt 2 bad and u can get a taxi from as little as 4 euros if speak nicely to the driver! hope u all enjoy ur hol i did x x x

out of the way from the town about 15min walk from everywhere and the beach but 6euro in a cab!!!

I'm so gutted to be home honestly it was soooo good! I wanna go back there next year but in July when it will be much busier!

Hey guys

Stayed in the Perkes in June 2006 for 2 weeks. Its fairly basic, but the pool area is cool, the bar food is nice and the guys at the bar are a good laugh...more or less stays open til last man standing!

Laganas is a great place.....the strip is awesome...loads of great clubs...I loved Barcode...and Chevy's is the business for some grub and pre-club cocktails!

Had a great holiday....desperate to go back soon!

stopped at perkes last yr and in 2005 great hotel, great staff an f**king awesome holiday. kosta the barman great guy an a few free shots. nicks a top man all though he did give me some stick (by the way she was good) rachael an vicky what can i say, both great women.

From, fryups to runny egg n toast!
There meals are great too! Super portions!

If i were to go back... i would go back to perkes! NEXT YEAR!"!!!!

I thort the hotel i stayed in while in malia was bad but it was buckingham palace compared to perkes its was an untidy unhygienic mess the rooms where jus and dissapointing for the price we paid, the manager some austriallain was just really unfriendly felt like he had a stick up his ass and we was on holiday and wanted a fun time ... really sad actually would visit zante again but never perkes would not reccommend!

hotel perkes is ace .... loved it met the best people there was so tempted to stay forever and get a job on the bar lol!!! the hotel is clean enough to pass out in your room and get ready to go out! the rooms vary some have waist height showers and the bathroom is like a wet room which u would think would suck but actually isnt that bad and its quite fun to have a shower in by the end of it all...while other have a shower with a curtain and is at normal height however whatever bathroom you may get the whole room will get soaked but its not a problem... the balconys vary you may get a pool view then again you can back onto another hotel and or onto the car park just pot luck what room you get!! the camp bed was surprisingly comfy and the girl who had it was very overprotective of her spot! the pool is ace and they play music all day so you can get in the party mood all day! the food at the pool bar and drinks are cheap! breakfast is bread cheese ham and jam suitable to cure a hangover but very rarely able to get up before 10 to have it oh well we lived. the owners are strict at first but respect them and you wont have a problem!! when you get there young people you have to give a 50 euro deposit incase you wreck the joint and you will get that back on the last day if all goes well!! if you want a fridge 30 euro for two week you have to ask for it to be installed well worth it i say... air con 49 euro a week not worth it! the club strip is the best place in the world enough said feel free to ask me anything else you may wonder about .... i loved it am gona go back to the hotel next year defonately!!!! xxxx

Hey ppl got bk from perkes on the 20th zante is the place to be. It was busy the one club i always found myself in was rescue the music in there is bangin. A week wasnt long enough i wud wanna go again but for longer. Hey to all the ppl who was der wen i was der the bloke who owns the hotel uses an air horn at about 7 in the mornin which was wen i got in evry night so be warned ppl but still the hotel is wicked. The best pool is olympia hotel go there 4 a swim.

just got back from staying at the perkes hotel and it was so gd!!! the best clubs are cocktails and dreams (but go there after 2pm cos anytime b4 and it's rubbish) and the cherry bar which is on the beach! the ppl at the perkes are lovely esp costas! also the best place to eat is chevys and if your looking to shop then go to acrobat on the strip!i took with me 500 euros, brought 3 dresses and still had loads to get pissed.

i loved it!! if your going there have fun!

We stayed in the apartments- and yes, some poor sod did end up on the camp bed, not me though thank god.

Instead of air con, we had a fan, and that was 10 euros a week, as was our safe.

The hotel is jokes though, just have abit of respect and there wont be any trouble, at the end of the day the hotel is their homes, so stick to the rules and you'll be sweet!

i think that would be about enough, loadsa ppl say �300 english money is to much for a week but i suppose it depends how much you do out there.

just got back from zante, we stayed at the perkes, had a wicked time, owners are so lovely. big up the toasties, they are mint!!!

if you are up for the night life i reccommend cocktails and dreams on the main strip- proper good night in there- i had such a laugh.

i went for a week and took 525 euros and came back with some- so it really is quite cheap.

Laganas is a gr8 place but the Perkes has got strict since last yr, u get told as soon as u get there that u hav 2 be quiet. erm hello it is hard wen u r pissed, lol. although i was there 21st June - 29th June 07 and the hotel was a nightmare as it was constant problems. on our last nite the fire extinguishers outside our rooms :-( wud def go bck but prob 2 a diff hotel. but i must say do the Escape to Victory it is the best nite eva, just u will need plenty of money as each drink is 5euros and there was 7 bars 2 go round wen we did it. X

me and my 2 mates mel and joe went to zante 18-25 june 07 altho laganas was brill and the nightlife was excellent, we had a few problems in perkes hotel which we stayed in, before we arrived we were expecting it to be a young and lively hotel which the brocure stated! to be fair everyone in the hotel was young groups up for a good time but the staff were moody and we got told it was a family hotel.

one night after a night on the town we decided it would be a good idea to jump in the hotel pool, we got told of and said we were sorry,altho next morning we had a sarcy letter stuck on our door sayin " girls if you want to get sick or die feel free to jump in the pool again as there is no one there to save you" followed by a telling of by nick the barman who treated us like children sayin "one more strike and your gettin kicked out of the hotel"we said sorry again.

after that we just got blaimed for every bit of noise in the hotel! one night a few of us were on the balcony listening to music on a MOBILE PHONE we got told the music was to LOUD and to go to bed WHAT A JOKE. (costas was great tho!) we had a great ime in zante and would defo go again altho we might try another hotel!

We have just arrived back from the Perkes Hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. Nick, Rachel and family are really nice friendly people and made our stay enjoyable.

The Beach was a little far however a nice walk past the shops so you can do a little bit of shopping on your way.

Cant wait to come back!

Hubby and i have just spent a week at the Perkes - lovely hotel, basic but all you need. Nick and Rachel the owners are lovely people. Warning - anyone going take plenty of mossie guard, i got eaten alive (well nearly) with over 40 bites on my legs !

Fair old walk to the main strip but at least its flat and if you feel really lazy you can get a taxi !

Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Zante, the rooms are clean, the staff are helpful, the food is great (especially the toasted steak sandwich) and the bar is well stocked

Oh - and watch out for earthquakes ! i am not joking, we had one at 04:30hrs in the morning.

Look at all the people going to zante when we are ! We are staying at the Perkes as well, 3 of us ladies! We went last year just for a week at the end of Ausgust but are going now from the 15th-30th of July! It is a well good holiday nightlife is amazing, went in the sea after every nite out and never made it home any earlier than 7am! You will all love it! Cherry Bay and Rescues are the places to be, and you have to go and visit 3 lions and say hi to Al and Theo! Is anyone going around the 15th? xxx

The Perkes is a fantastic place to stay.

I went there last September and found the place to be simply one of the best places I'd ever stayed in in Laganas. The rooms are basic, but who needs anything more than a place to kip down and get ready for a night out on the lash eh?

It's about a 25-30 minute walk from the beach but, the walk down to it is pleasant enough but beware of people touting for your business as you walk past the numerous pubs/clubs/cafes and restaurants (dependant on the time of day you walk past though), these people are klnown as P.R.'s, the last I heard, it was illegal (or highly frowned upon, anyway) for these people to work as such.

There are also two pools here, one is in the hotel grounds next to the bar area and the 2nd is next door to the strip club which separates the hotel from the 2nd pool. Here you'll find some water chute/slides and it's generally the quieter of the two pools.
