probaly the best place to stay in zante!!!
Just come back after 2 weeks here. Location is quite a long way from the strip but very quiet. rooms quite big and clean. Swimming pool clean. only wento the bar once though as we went out every evening. would stay here again.
the only positive about this place was the reasonable location.
the air conditioning was over priced, 'cooking' area completely unstocked so couldnt make anything however much food we bought, the management was incredibly unfriendly and we had to rely on an 18 year old girl to organise anything with as the others did not speak any english, the pool turned white swimming clothes yellow, the food and water was overpriced- and you werent allowed your own near the pool!
if you do happen to go here.... visit the happy cafe down the road. youll have more enjoyment there in one meal than the week in these studios!
hi caren, at the bottom of the strip you turn right at the beach, go past med version and the vezal. at the end of the beach there is a supermarket, take the road to the left of the supermarket after about a 5min walk there is a small road on the right, the megara is about a 200yard walk along. i am sorry if i cant be more explicit, but it is hard to pinpoint the megara for you, it may seem by my directions that it is out in the sticks, but its actually close to everything. the only big hotel closeby is the denise beach, so if you can get a map reference from a brochure it may give you a better idea of the position of the megara, denise beach hotel use to be with direct holidays company, but not sure if it still is.
Hi Kelly,As you walk down the strip towards the beach do you go left or right for the Megara studios as I still cant work out where they are. We always go to the left towards Kalamaki. We only go for walks towards the right and I cant recall seeing these appartments anywhere. All I can remember on this side is Med Version where George works
hi caren, the megara is few minutes walk to beach and about 10mins to the strip. the megara is near the denise beach hotel, and the christina appartments. dont know if you know the vezal restaurant on the beach but its not far from there either, you have to pass this 1 on your way to strip.plenty of supermarkets close by. friends of mine stayed here a couple of times and enjoyed it, the family are luvly, and rooms very clean, nice pool also, we went to a greek here and had a really good time. hope this will help you.
i stayed at megara studios in july and the hotel definetly made my holiday what it was! i had an absolutly brilliant time and couldnt have asked for a better hotel to stay at! staff there wer amazing sofia speros jackie and the parents! im looking to go back to laganas next year and will definetly stay there again if i do go back! its clean, tidy and so friendly and welcoming and its so close to everything! it was brilliant and i miss it :( hope everyone that stays there has as much of a good time as i did!!
I stayed at the megara for a two week holiday in zante and must say that the view from the room was brilliant, and the pool was brilliant though a little small for everybody who was staying there. However, the management at the hotel did not seem to get on at all well with many of the guest and most of the time were complaining about something. For example being told to clean your feet before you got into the pool.
I have just come back from a 2 week holiday in Zante and stayed at the Megara Studios. 8 of us went and we had a great time...the owners were lovely especially Jackie, Sofia and Speros who would do anything to ensure you were enjoying yourself. The rep, Tim was also a great laugh and we got on well with him who would also ensure you enjoyed yourself. The hotel is literally 2 mins walk away from the beach and the night life is amazing. I would definatly advise people to stay at this hotel as it is clean and tidy, you have great views from your balcony and the people there are lovely :)
Stayed here sept 06, Rooms are tiny no air condition in rooms, pool water is green we never stayed by the pool once, laganas is great but will never stay here again.

Hello!
The Megara Studios was an amazing place to stay. I stayed there in August 2003. Just around the corner from the beach and the main strip. Great family business, extremely friendly and very clean and tidy. I stayed in one of the appartments directly above the bar. I found it very clean and tidy and loved the place.
We stayed in Megara for a week in September 2004.. Really liked it it was just the rite distance away from the busy spot(walking distance!) and the family run atmosphere was really nice( nana and sophie were great!) rep was nice too!! (chris)
Stayed at thr megara for two weeks in august worth every penny! the family who looked after us were great especially nana and sophier! food was spot on!was in the right place about 5 mins from town no noise at night back at the appartments bbq's were ace people who didn't like are probably stuck up southerns! live a bit like us northerns!
Stayed in Megara jun 2003 had bottom floor appartment with o window or air conditioning, place was ok staff were pk apart from the cleaner who had a habit of waking us all up after our nites out on the razz.
also the over the top girls from london who went out of there way 2 make everybody feel uncomfortable, when they left we all cheered also it was 1st day every1 was round the pool relaxing
by the way the travel rep, name 2 close 2 home was a waste of space
Can anyone give me the address of the Megara Apartments in Laganas?.Many Thanks.
Yasou! Me and my 5 mates stayed at Megara in July/August and absolutely loved it. The family who own the apartments were very friendly, especially Effie and Kostas (mum and dad) and Ya Ya (grandma). You will probably end up learning a bit of Greek as they don't speak any English. Yamas (cheers) being the most popular phrase. I recommend that you go to the barbecue that they put on for the guests. But be warned, be prepared to be thrown in the swimming pool by the barmen, Harris and Andreas! A warning to the girls, if you meet a strange Australian guy who shaves his legs, don't speak to him! You'll be stuck with him for the rest of your holiday.
I went to the Megara Studios for a three week single person holiday with Manos. Was there Sept/Oct. So pleased with the choice I made. The location was ideal for me. Easy access to beach. A short walk from shops, bars, clubs and restaurants. The studios are set in pleasant and quiet setting, although some clubbing noise can be heard at night if you leave the doors open. But, this is what you would expect at a resort like this, is'nt it! You can fall asleep around the pool under the shades, nice. The owners are really the nicest people you would hope to meet. Nothing is too much trouble. Looking after me when needed. The meals they cooked during the day and in the evening were first class. They ended up as good friends of mine. The accomodation was as I expected, spacious, clean and adequately fitted out. With a wonderful view from my balcony, I can only say I loved my room (21). My experience at the Megara was that of a happy, friendly and carefree holiday community.
We stayed at the Megara Studios from June 13th to the 20th 2002 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A mixed group of ten of us went to stay in Laganas to be close enough to the nightlife but far enough away for peace and quiet if we wanted it. Megara Studios were ideal for this-just five minutes walk from the main beach and ten minutes walk from the strip (main area for bars, clubs and restaurants) yet set within an olive grove making it quiet when within the complex. The apartments have only recently extended from a one storey to a three storey apartment block with a pool (wih sunbeds) and snack bar. The owners (Kostas & Effie) and staff were the most friendly people you could meet and added a fantastic personal touch to our holiday (for example on the final night of our holiday they held a traditional greek evening for us with food and greek dancing for a small fee). It also provided the opportunity to learn a bit of Greek as the owners do not speak a lot of English but the family/staff were able to help with translations (therefore picking words up along the way!). Kostas even transported our suitcases the short, gravel path distance to the main road for us in his car/trailer when we were leaving. Sorry to leave but will definitely be going back!
I was there in the beginning of july and was pleaseantly surprised with the location. It is only 5 mins from the beach and the main stretch for eve/entertainment.acomm is of reasonable standard but very clean. The prices in the studios is of good value and will beat any pub in the centre. YOU TEND TO GET RIPPED OF IN TOWN, IE...COCKTAILS ARE ABOUT 4POUNDS and are not of the quality you would expect...so be careful.I have no complaints about megara stds and the owner and his family really do there best to help you. MY only concern is that this small hotel will be overrun by the 18/30 club and if it, then I would not go back.
hi i am goin to greece soon and would like to know wot kind of prices food is and how clean the rooms are kept. how much are drinks and wot are the best pubs or nigthclubs thanks hope to know more soon.
i stopped in these apartmnents 30th may to 13th june nice apartments very spacious we were on the bottom floor which tended to be very echoey first week was ok accept a bit noisy from lads above apartment next to ours and the girls above us woke us up when they came in at five in the morning!!!had to complain about sheets and towels only been changed once in nine days by day six had to by earplugs from chemist to sleep then the yobs arrived could not sunbathe round the pool unless you wanted a ball in your face although there was a sign up to say no ball games basically they should not mix famillies and couples with groups of lads and lasses the greek couple who ran it were nice but i bet they will be fed up of some of the rude uncultured british by the end of season
