1st june o8
what a week 12-19th july!
i came here 4 years ago and it was great but can anyone remind me as i have forgotten how much the drinks cost now and food as things have probually changed since i last came here and i want to know how much extra euros to bring with me in june 2009 thankyou xx
in 2004 i went to mon repos with my 1 year old son and a few friends and we had the most fantastic and brilliant time. the owners were brillient with my little boy they were always talking and making us feel very comferable while we were there, we went in may and it was so hot,and the rooms are very standerd but comfertable and they cleaned our rooms every other day with no charge. so i dont know what people are saying about being charged for dirty bedding ect the toilets our the only problem i can put down for this as the drainage is not great but they tell you that before you go in anyway, so be sparing with the loo roll. the beaches were fantastic and so were the resterants dallases greek resteraunt the place to go they brought my little boys food out with sparklers on it which he thought was amazing. they also give you free shots after your meal and thats a bonus, im writting so much because there is so much to tell, the pool is great and opens very early so you can get a well deserved morning swim. the gardens are beutifull theres also a cruise you can go on for just 9 euros you get to see the blue caves and the loggerhead turtles and sometimes dolphins, this place is amazing the pool side has pool tables and table tennis and theres quiz nights and bbq nights food and drink is served al day and evening and is great value for money 1 euro for coctails and pints it might of changed now because it was 4 years ago but me and my freinds our going away next june and were coming back we cant wait see you then and thankyou for giving us such good memories xxxx
hello, im going to mon-repos appartment in june with my partner. were both 23 and relly looking forward to going as its our first holiday 2gether. Ive read some ov the reviews and they seem pritty mixed, ive also been trying to find more pics in zante and having troubble finding them. dont suppose any one can give me the heads up on the place , like good bars for our age and what the pool and rooms r really like? would be appriciated as im bit nervus now after reading some ov the reviews. stacie
Mon Repos apartment were perfect!!
Another great year at the Mon Repo, our 8th year. met some more great people again as always, and again met some who have also been going to the Mon Repo for years too.
just returned home from 2 weeks at the mon repo and they were the best 2 weeks ive had abroad in 17 years..yes the rooms were basic but clean' we stayed in block A which was a little set back away from the pool and bar but the trail back is lit up and not too scarey at all 'met some super people &,sakis, anna, and greg(high five) are fantastic they gave us such a great send off we diddnt want to leave' and not forgetting rosa what a little darling,i will defo be going back to repo.....
just got back from mon repo 30th october 2007. didnt no what to expect after reading the comments from some people on this website. i couldnt of been more suprised when we got there. it was the best hotel ive ever stayed at. it is basic but its going to be for the price, but there was a great atmosphere around the pool and the bar and we were treated great. sakis and anna were great people as was the rest of the family, and billy. for those sad people who write into this website slagging this place off and sending photos of a dirty hob in.get a life you tight a**e, if you want the ritzz get your doh out and go somwere expensive. who cooks on holiday anyway! for the price of this hotel its impossible to complain.we'll definetly be back.
matty & rachel from b4
Oh my god, i cant believe the moans about people coming in late at night!! ITS A BLOODY HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U are holidaying in Laganas, ones of the holiday hot spots for young peole.U go out and get pissed and let yourselves go on holiday and come in at ridiculous times of the night even if ur not a youngster. Get a grip, honestly. If u want peace and quiet go for Zante Town or Tsivili of even another, quieter island.
Incidentally me and me girlfriend have just returned from a week at Mon Repos. As a result of this website and the poor reviews we even tried to move apartments the week b4 we went. I'm so glad we didin't!
The apartments while being basic and small are perfectally fine. They were cleaned every 2nd day with fresh towels and bed linen each time. U cant expect more for the price u pay for Mon Repos as it isn't expensive!!
The staff are the best! Saki, Anna, Greg and Billy were all so helpful and friendly!
The pool is of average size and there are plenty of free sunbeds.
The food and drink is good and is cheap enough and there are plenty of free shots.
We weren't kept awake at all as the aforementioned road quietens down during the night and i think we only heard people coming in late once all week.
I would say this apartment is suitable for all ages. There was definately more older people that younger here and by that i mean older than me i.e 30-40 year olds.
Some people expect far too much. I knew what i expected from £250 and i got it!! I would defiantely go back to Mon Repos!!
I have just came back from a week holiday at the Mon Repos,
For all you who dog mon repos, you must have gone to a completely different place. Me and my friends have just got back today from mon repos and we had a brilliant time. We were very weary of what to expect after reading these reviews but we were absolutely amazed when we got there. The people there are soooooooo nice. The rooms were very clean everything you needed!! Fair enough there were people coming to their rooms at 3 in the morning but for god sake, you went to laganas for your holiday, the most well known, CLUBBING resort. so if you wanted a nice, quiet holiday book some where else and i suggest you look up resorts before you book. However, to be honest it wasnt even that noisey alls you could hear were people walking and thats with having the door open. The main strip is about 2 minutes away but yo couldnt hear any music in your apratment so you could get a good nice sleep to recover haha So for those who have given bad reviews for the mon repos, i suggest you do abit of research before you book next time. Even Rosa the dog made you feel welcome haha
this place is seriously not recomended for couples or familys (not if you want to get some sleep at night that is). in our brochure the place was described as 'quiet', im sorry but i dont think quiet means being woken up at 4-5am every morning by roudy drunks shouting and smashing things up as they make their way back to their rooms! we had two rooms and on the first day we arrived to find a bed drenched in p**s and one that just simply stunk. they were replaced after we pointed them out but it is the fact that the cleaner didnt sort it in the first place which is concerning. it was as if the rooms hadnt been cleaned after the last people moved out. away from the apartment laganas is a roundy place but there still are some very nice restaurants, one which i highly recomend is odessy (spelt something along those lines).
The cleaners come and go as they please. The toilets don't flush properly. The shower gives you electric shocks. The hot water is rarely on for showering. They charge you for Aircon and to keep your passports safe. Your not allowed to drink your own water in the scorching 45 degree heat, must buy their tiny bottles for high prices. My camping gear is better equipped for cooking than what is in the rooms.
If the owner is in a bad mood and you have a late flight, expect him to come over to you with some made up "damage" expenses. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and its shocking that First choice use it. Zante is a great place, just DONT spend your time or your money here!
I work for a leading travel agent, Thomas Cook, and I have to agree totally!! Mon Repos isnt great at all, to be fair, its ok for a young lads holiday, but the accomadation is shocking, ive just come back from here with a few friends, (jul07) we had to pay for a bed that was already broken and new sheets that had a bit of choclate down them (long story), but it was the fact they wouldnt wash them! So after a week of fun just as you check out they say we owe, 100 euros for the bed & 20 for sheets or they would refuse us to fly!! so be prepared to pay crazy charges that might not be ur fault!
JUST RETURNED FROM A WEEK AT THE MON REPO WHICH WE APTLY RENAMED "DEATH ROW". STAYED IN VARIOUS HOTELS & APPARTMENTS IN ZANTE 6 TIMES BEFORE WITH NO COMPLAINTS BUT THIS WAS THE PITS. THE POOL & BAR WAS A HIKE ALONG A DIRT TRACK, AT NIGHT YOU WOULD BE LUCKY TO GET BACK TO YOUR ROOM WITHOUT INJURY. THE ROOM ITSELF WAS VERY BASIC WHICH WE EXPECTED BUT DID NOT EXPECT TO GET ELECTRIC SHOCKS WHILST USING THE SHOWER.TOILET DID NOT FLUSH, WATER CAME BACK THROUGH DRAIN WHILST SHOWERING. COOKER WAS OLD AND RUSTY. THE EXTRA BED IN ROOM WAS ACTUALLY TAPED TOGETHER TO HOLD IT. ON OUR FIRST NIGHT WE GOT NO SLEEP AT ALL, THE COUPLE NEXT DOOR ARGUED & THREW THINGS AT WALLS AND DOORS TILL 6AM. WOULD NOT RECOMEND THESE APPARTMENTS UNLESS YOU PLAN TO BE MORTAL DRUNK FOR THE ENTIRE STAY.
We have been to Mon Repose three times and we found the whole experience great, Sakis and Anna are really welcoming and friendly, the apartments are clean but basic, the complex is really nice and friendly if you want 5 star then go somewhere elce and pay for it.
I agree with Jan. Sakis, Anna and the rest of the family couldn't do enough to help. I returned from a week at Mon Repos on Sunday after also being there a week in May ans 2 weeks last September, where I am sure I met Jan and her hubby Paul from Liverpool. ( if it is you, hope you got the wee note we left for you behind the bar)
Hello!!! well I completley forgot about this website! what a day on your own in the office can do!
A fantastic place to stay!!!!!!! Sakis and Anna were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, even though we had to get Sakis up in the early hours for an accident with shower causing flooding to our apartment...for which we will be eternally sorry!!! Sakis was extremely good humoured and we will love him for ever!!!!!!!!!!!! The apartment was great, the evenings we spent at the Pool Bar were fantastic!!!!!!! Can@t wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This Place Rocks! Me and my mate B were there from the 27th aug to the tenth sept. This place is mega , came last year and am already lookin forward to next year. Sakis and Nikos are legends. All the girls we met were darlins and they knew it. Greece you are the best. love you all!!!!!
With reference to Jans comment the water is a rip off and Sakis was a nasty man who tried to charge twice for the water that you had already paid for and used your room number to tell other people that you had complained about their noise levels when in actual fact you had never made a complaint. The cleaner seemed to clean when she felt like it you never knew when the room would be cleaned.
The Mon Repos apartments were ok very basic and the attitude of the owners was terrible there were only out to rip you off for example the water in the apartments was 8 euros for 18 litres the shop round the corner was selling 18 litres of water for 3 euros 20.
we was there 4th-11th july - was awesome - sakis is an absolute legend - im back there next year no doubts - staff were freindly and sakis and his flamin sambucca - we even taught him a cocktail fat frog. best week of my life would recomend this hotel to anyone. anyone coming skegness reunion?
5 of us from Devizes have just came back from a week at Mon Repo in laganas and loved every min of it, it was amazing. The activities that you can get involved with, with the reps are well worth doing especially the bar crawl, rep night and the foam party at the plus club. Be aware of the Greek men though!!! Don't say no1 warned you lol picture of 3 of us me in the middle on our balcony. the night life is great every night is as good as the next, cocktails and dreams, rescue, zero club and cherry bay are the clubs to go to even tho there all still amazing. have a good time if you visiting soon. lucy
Brill place- great for starting the night off if you want some simple but bloody good food! thena drink and then hit the bars!
Was a fantastic holiday! bout 2 mins away from the main strip so not far 2 walk at all! Nikos n sakis were fantastic and we crnt 4get chico lol wot a laugh he was!
Im going on the 20th Aug with my boyfriend...
wowiiiiieee!
what a holiday!!! had some awesome times round the pool and in the pool bar, them blow job shots are quality!
pearce nice comment ooooooooooooo pat!!!
met some quality people, couldnt ask for a better bunch of people to meet!
thank you everyone xx
we have just go back from the mon repos and we had a great time, we met some really nice people, we had great times down at the pool and in the pool bar at night before heading out.
thanks to sakis, anna, nikos and maria for a great time not forgetting cheeko. We've just got back from our 1 week holiday on 4/7/06 and staying at Mon Repos was an excellent idea. We had 7 in our party and we were given 2 appartments in B block, 1st floor (ask for appartment no. 10 or 9) as they are the only rooms that have the best pool view and the 3 single-tons had an appartment in block D, which was a 5 min walk down the dark pathway (away from the main site).
In each appartment are 20/25L bottles of water - before you use it, be aware that it costs 8euros (which is a bargain, if you're going to drink all of it). Air con is 40Euros for 2 person appartment and 70Euros for the 4 person appartment (per week). Safety deposit boxes are in each room and they cost 15Euros per week.
The location of Mon Repos is spot on. Close enough to get to the nightlife, but far enough away, so it doesn't keep you up at night. Opposite the main entrance is a lovely restaurant called The Akropolis. Very friendly service and excellent menu.
Other good places to eat are: Mr Dallas Greek, Georginos, Taj Mahal (180Euros for 7 people = good price from an Indian Meal and excellent food/service). Best place for pizza is Mamis Pizza - freshly made right in fron of you.
A good place for breakfast/lunch is......(sorry can't remember the name of it), but it is on laganas main road. Stand at the crossroads with 'Big Boys' fast food outlet on the top left corner (of the crossroads) as though you were walking from Mon Repos and head up (away from the beach), staying on the left hand side. After the supermarket there is a little place with orange signs saying the best place to eat (or something like that).....and it is, for breakfast. The special full breakfast 6Euros - but it's huge and fills you up for the rest of the day.
We didn't do any excursions, but we did visit the waterpark under our own steam(!). We took the local bus to the park and it cost us 1 Euro cheaper than the people on the streets selling waterpark trips and 5 Euros cheaper than First Choice.
We did also hire a boat (instead of going on an organised turtle island trip) and this worked out 10 Euros per person for 2 hrs. It was great fun and you could stop the boat whenever and jump in and swim with the turtles.
The boat was hired from a bloke that looked like the scuba guy from the film "Along Came Polly", he has a hut with two white surf boards as his price lists - on the beach front by
Local brew Mythos and Amstel 1.50euros in some bars, but in 'Cocktails n Dreams' - 1 bottle of Amstel and a cocktail = 8Euros....only stayed for 1 drink (shame cos they were playing some great music).
And when you're back home :( whenever you hear 'The Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)'.....it'll remind you of Zante 2006.
This was our local, and spent all day by the pool here. Sakis, Anna and Nikos make sure you have a brilliant time, just like we did!!! 10/10 - oh and make sure you try the black sambucas!!
Hi, me and my boyfriend are going to stay at mon repos on the 15/8/06! im quite looking forward to it bcos of all the good feedback! im just a bit wary about the bar staying open till early hours in morning! dont get me wrong i do like to have a good time but i get miserable if i dont get my sleep!!! can someone let me know if it is really noisy around the bar till early hours in morning!! cant wait to go!! not long now!!!
hi there!!!!me and my friend are coming to stay between 10/09/06-18/09/06.in 10 weeks time,we're so excited!!its our 1st time,a whole week of boozing in the sun.two young lassies looking to have plenty fun and parhaps meet some nice & goodlooking guys!anyone going out the same time??been looking on the website and its all good comments so we cant wait, see ya all soon, look out for niki & ema!!!xxxx
Just got back from Zante yesterday. Me and 3 mates stayed at Mon Repo, had a wicked time! Sakis, Anna, Nikos and Maria are the family that run the hotel and pool bar. They are all lovely and will look after you (by givin u lots of free shots!) Also u gotta try the top notch chicken salad!!
It's located just round the corner from the main strip, which is filled with bars and clubs- Cherry Bay is a good club for cheese!! and G Spot has some tasty men who work there!!Come back from mon repos on the 18th june 06 and had the best holiday ever it was wicked the clubs were just a 5minute walk if that, but the best bar of all was sakis mad house(on site) he opens till 4.30 most nights and gets you ruined with all his free shots me and emma (girlfriend) would recommend this to anyone. met lots of brill people you know who you are. anyone goin soon please say hi to sakis n anna for us. Were back next year defo. Gary and Emma Stockport
Hi, im goin to mon repps in july, just wondered how far away it was from the nearest shops?
Can anyone tell me if they have aircon in the apartments?
me and my partner have literaly just returned from mon repos it is absolutely great.
Hi, the clubs are literally around the corner, but far enough away so that you dont hear the noise at night, i stayed in these apartments last year and loved it... i would say its a 4 -5 minute walk before you hit the main strip!!! Enjoy!! im goin again on monday woohoo!!
how far is the aparments from the clubs ?
Well ive just come back from there and had a great time and sakis and all of his team make you fell so welcome . There was 8 of us in our party and it was a good time had by all would definetely return to see them all ....
Me and my mates stayed at mon repos in june 2005 and we had a wicked time. were going back out there this year. sakis, nikos and rudd were fantastic and made our holiday, it will be great to see them again. gaz was a great laugh and we still keep in contact. mon repos is definatly the place to go.
ravis sideburns were a good laugh while we were out there... i mean who knows what was happening with those. Nathan(juganaught) was a great laugh stubbling around minding his own business. There was one fella with a wonky chin and an immense square head. The reseeding hair line was baffling but o well. Dan williams you absolute PANDA. so thanks
I had a panda of a time.
The mon repos is one of the best hotels ive ever been to. Although the rooms were moderate they were clean and tidy. Although Dan Williams will never get any actions and Ed Bridges has one of the squarest heads ive ever seen i think that this is the place to go if visiting laganas.
Manda says hope you like the picture (Gaz)!
Mon Repos, was one of the best holidays we have been on. People are very friendly and make you feel extreamly welcome. Pool was not even 2 minutes away from our apartment, all bar staff was very friendly also, big thanks to the owners, Ruud and especially Gaz. The apartments were basic but it was a 2 star so was expecting that, was hardly ever there anyway.
If you decide to book your next Holiday for Zante then make sure that you book for the Mon Repos Apartments.
Just got back from the mon repos nice people nice food but perhaps we were just unlucky the bathroom was a bit smelly.
The Mon Repo was a fab place to stay and we would recommend this place for young and old alike.
We went to the Mon Repo for two weeks on the 18th Sep which is near to the end of the season but it was still busier than other nearby apartments. One of the reasons for this is because the majority of visitors (approx 64-70% according to the owners) return every year and we can understand why!
The apartments were clean but basic (but then what do you expect for a two star)! The apartments are located about a 5-10 min walk from the strip. The pool was cleaned regularly and the staff, i.e Ruud, were always at hand if you required anything.
The food was good and reasonably priced and the drinks were much cheaper than the strip and were the genuine article, i.e if you ordered a malibu and coke (or several ) thats exactly what you got plus several free shots thrown in throughout the night!!!
All the people, i.e. Sakis, Anna, Nikos, Maria, Ruud and Gaz were really friendly and made our stay more enjoyable and one which we will remember. Check out the pic of Sakis above pretending to pick his nose!
Here here ************** from Cyprus! Mon Repos is fantastic whether you are a family, couple or group of mates. Everything you could ask for...and more. The staff are wonderful and the apartments, pool and bar are spotless. Lovely food and great value for money. Could never understand why people go to the same place year after year...now I do after staying at Mon Repos.
Please disgard the below information on the Mon Repos, if you read all the other reveiws throughout all the other pagers you will see nothing but praise. Mon Repos is one of the best places to stay if visiting Laganas, the family that run Mon Repos are the best and will make sure you have an excellent stay. If you require a clean towel, as we did, all you need to do is ask the owners and they are more than happy to replace them. The comment below makes it sound like block A and D are miles from the pool, the only people who could possibly have this opinion are lazy gits! It is a 2min walk if that. While you are there you must visit gaz at the pool bar and say hi, he is a top bloke and will make sure you try some of there special cocktails or a shot of Black Sambuca.
this is the place to go if you like walking down dodgy olive groves or on mad roads because you need to if you want to go anywhere.
what the hell was this place about? 4 blocks separated from each other with only 1 with a pool. basically if your in d or a block your screwed. enjoy the walking! it was lovely and quiet where we were but thats because we were in the middle of nowhere. s**t location. if your in the main block or the block near to mr dallas's then your ok, but if your in the other ones you can forget it.Crap, Pricy in the middle of nowhere.
Also u hav 2 say hello 2 Ruud (rudey) from us he woz a ledge 2 xx
hi shell i was with rox an the girls on holiday, best time ever!! yeah we still hear from gaz an emma he sends us random txts bout bolton fc lol.... so jealous ur goin back u hav 2 say hi 2 gaz, nikos and sakis 4 us we miss em!!! an make sure gaz gets his a**e down 2 skegness in nov!! say hi 2 rich 2.... xx
