Tsilivi Resort

Resorts in Zante

Terry F

Can't believe the comments from Tony and Alma below, Tsilivi is beautiful and the locals are great. Go back evry year, believe me it's nothing like Blackpool.

Gina F

Just got back from 4 days in Tsilivi and it was absolutely FANTASTIC!!I stayed at the Yakinthos Hotel right on the beach, withe Photese and Maria. The Hotel was excellent, the beach white sands and the sea warm and inviting. Food was great, Hotel clean and always an inviting reception. Boat trip with Captain Spiros could not have been better and the man, women and children ALL enjoyed it. I would reccomend this this everyone - young or old, male or female, couples or single, wanting peace or excitment. I had the time of my life and wish I cold have stayed longer!!! xx

Alma A

We've been to Greece MANY times, but Tsilivi was a bit like a miniature version of 'Blackpool in the sun' for us. Pukka Pies and mash and big screen TV's everywhere. We're not an old couple but a couple with two young children who LOVE Greece. If you like little boats in the harbour where you can hear the bells tinkling as you eat your Greek salad, like to see little Greek ladies sitting on steps and old Greek men congregating in the streets, this is hot the place for you. We were disappointed with the resort. We do not go to Greece to have commercialism thrust in our faces and this, for us, is what it was.

Tom C

Tsilivi is a great resort, particularly for couples and people wanting to avoid the horrors of Laganas (drunken tourist hell). There's plently to do, good nightlife, excellent retaurants and I'd love to go back there.

Vicky W

I have been to Tsilivi three times in the past three years and I could not compare Tsilivi to Blackpool. I am an 18 year old girl who loves to travel and relax whilst on Holiday, as well as having fun, and Tsilivi is the best place I have ever been to on holiday by far. Many people holiday in Tsilivi and return year after year (like myself and my family) and I find it such ashame when its compared to blackpool. For starters Tsilivi is not dirty and smelly, there is only one night club so not too much noise is made and what noise there is will be people having FUN on their holiday and having a laugh with the friendly people of Tsilivi. After all you make your holiday what you want it to be and I would defo reccomend Tsilivi to everyone.

Alma A

Just arrived back from Tsilivi (26.8.04), stayed at Tom and Johns. Having been to several Greek islands and the mainland over the last few years, we were disappointed with Tsilivi. What keeps us returning to Greece is the traditional Greek villages and towns, with Taverna's offering traditional quisine, little boats in the harbour and lovely beaches with bluey green waters. Unfortunately, (and we are not oldies!!), Tsilivi for us was a commercialised, over-developed smaller version of Blackpool in the sun (minus the candy flosses and funfair). Pukka Pies and mash were on offer in many places, along with roast beef and yorkshire pudding. There were large screen TV's blarring away in all the bars and restaurants, and people pestering you with "offers" and "specials" for evening meals as you tried to walk down the crowded streets, or lounged on the beach. Our salvation was hiring a car for a few days, allowing us to view the north and south peninsulas of the island, special merit was the area around the lighthouse and small bay of St Nicholas in the north and the spectacular area around Keri in the south, both had unspoilt shorelines used by the locals in both peninsulas. If we'd not hired the car, we would have taken home the completely wrong impression of Zante. Chances are we will return, but not stay in Tsilivi, as it is quite clearly, Laganas little brother.

Vikki N

hey duke,
we have to agree with you paradise is the best bar and calypso was the best restaurant by far they both had great waiters and bar staff who couldnt be more friendlier, you must visit these if you go!!!
we would reccomend Tsilivi to any1 its a great place for all we are just sad that we are now back home in the UK but never mind we'll be back nxt year to see people again, you kno who you are! oh n duke we met a man who was there for the 12th time what that tell ya?!? x x

Duke O

Tsilivi itself is unspoilt and really very beautiful, met so many people who were visiting for their 2nd, 3rd ,4th times etc, even met one girl from Manchester on her SEVENTH visit, so that should tell you about the place, local people are really nice, booked up to go back next year, though wont be staying at the Charalambous apts again, although very clean I was woken every morning between 3am and 5 am by the dustman, Calypso restaurant was my favourite, food was magnificent as were the staff, Benikos came a close 2nd, favourite bars were The Paradise, top people and Magdelenas sky sports bar. Great place for the family or couples, cannot recommend Tsilivi high enough. Looking forward to next July when we will be returning, though this time we have to bring the Kids with us, could always lock em in the appartment..... only joking.

Juliet L

Hi, This message is for Gill.
The price of a taxi from the airport to Tsilivi is about 9 Euros. The drive should only last about 10 minutes if that.

Gill M

Cost of transfer from airport to Tsilivi?

Barbara G

A large group of us (family and friends) will be going to Tsilivi first 2 weeks in october, we've never been to Tsilivi before, we are staying at Tom and Johns, can anyone recomend good Greek tavernas, also nice places to eat and drink by the sea or with a nice view? Thanks!

Denis S

We visit Tsilivi often and arrived back yesterday (3/8/2004) from our latest visit.

The Miami Bar is still the best beach bar with great food, terrific value, and Christos, Nickos and Andreas (Oli). We always have a ball with them and their many friends.

The new water park is very average - half a day is plenty and they do a special rate from 2.30pm in the afternoon. It closes at 6.00pm. Food and drink are very expensive inside the park. It is slighly inland from Tsilivi and about the same distance as to the airport. Trips go from most of the towns but we drove - not easy to find - I forget the name of the small town that it is in.

Kelly Dutton - do the Miami bar during the day on the beach (several pools within 1 minutes walk) and say hello to Nickos for me - in the evenings the good bars are all together - the Ark, Two Brothers, Level etc. - also close by is the Manos Grill and you must eat there one evening

Wanting to hear from Shaun & Jenny from Skipton - denis_stubbins@hotmail.com

Olympics games hammer throwing event is the only event being held outside of Athens at Olympia. Which is easily reachable from Zante in a day tour. The event is on the 18th August. For the attention of Philip Crabb. Hope you enjoy your holiday!

Sheree

We just got bac from a 2 week stay at Tsilivi and i loved it . We stayed at the Zante Maris Hotel whih was lovely. I am 14 and my friend is 15 and there was loads for us to do . I would recomend going to The Ark Cocktail Bar for a drink as it is really lively and really good fun. We had a good time and i would deffinitly go back to tsilivi next year.

Steven M

Just got back from 2 weeks in Tsilivi. Absolutely loved it! Beach was OK, but i'm not a beach person! Stayed at the Daisy Apartments. Room was clean and well kept - apart from I had to personally unblock the drain in my bathroom on my first day, as ever time i showered or used the tap, the floor of the whole room would flood! The owners said that every room was like it and that it was normal... all I did was use drain cleaner and the problem was gone!! Resort is great. Bars and resteraunts were plentiful and of a good standard. The music bars are great (I liked the Joker Bar the best) but the nightclub "Enigma" is full of kids who are obviously away with their parents!! AVOID! I will hopefully go back to Tsilivi and I had a great time.

Hana M

does anyone no anythin about the strofades
hotel as we will be visitin there shortly and can
find no rewiews or reports on it? thanks

Philip C

We will be back in Tsilivi {third time} during the time the Olympic games are being held in Athens.
Does anyone know if there are any excursions/trips to the Olympics from Zante?

Emma E

We stayed here for a week in July and returned yesterday - it just wasn't long enough. We loved it there!

The beach is gorgeous and there is plenty to do at this resort. I would definitely go back to Roscos Bar (it is located on Carravell Road - opposite the Admirals Hotel). The bar staff are very welcoming and the lady that runs the Karaoke (Sue) is really funny and great with kids. She also does a bingo session before the karaoke which everyone always enjoys.

The Ark (which I believe is a 24hr bar) is very lively and entertaining - they set fire to the bar, make nice cocktails and beep the horn every time someone walks through the door!

For eating out, I would strongly recommend Manos' Grill - the food is spot on and the people are lovely! Manos (the chef and owner) is a really nice guy and makes you feel very welcome.

Also, Popeyes is a really good place to eat - the food is nice, the service is good and it's good value for money. You sometimes have to wait a few minutes for a table but it's worth the wait.

We spent most of our time at the Two Brothers' complex. They have apartments, a nice pool bar that serves tasty snacks and the bar staff are the happiest and friendliest people you will ever meet! We plan to go back next year and will see if we can get a room here as our apartments (Drogitis Studios) weren't great!

Gemma

Spent two weeks at the Alamis. The apartments were good - comfortable & clean. The apartments are in a very good location, just a few yards from the beach and prety much at the top end of the main road with the bars & restaurants. There was more than I expected in terms of nightlife, quite a lot of music bars (The Ark & Plant were our favourites)although we only found one nightclub, which was an experience to say the least (would not recommend it)! I think Tsilivi suits couples of all ages more than groups of boys and girls (suggest Laganas fom them)!

All in all, a good holiday in a typical Greek resort, nothing really different or exceptional.

Ryan A

I was in Tsilivi at the begining of june with my girlfriend. We're both 20 and found the bars brilliant.

Visit Kaliva bar + Level Bar for good nights out. Sit at the bars to enjoy free drinks etc + to make friends with the barmen.

There is one club but not worth the visit.

Hope this helps?

Any more questions just ask.

Ryan

Kelly D

Hi all

Me and my boyfriend are going to Tsilivi on 12th August and staying at the Alamis Apartments

Could anybody advise some good bars/ clubs we should visit.

Also are there any daytime exursions worth going on??

Thanks

Kelly

Maurice

hi, just back from 2 weeks in the zante maris.Enjoyed a great holiday.Top 5 tavernas, popeyes, zoukas, romios, zevis&atehina.Hotel luxurios, staff very friendly,a trip to smugglers cove is a must,a great day out!We will return!

Gavin W

Hi, just wondering where abouts the 'new' water park is in zante?? thanx!!

Hannah B

This is to recommend the Two Brother Taverna for you reception for your wedding Lou. The atmosphere in there is the best. The two guys there are most friendly and most welcoming people tht you will ever meet

Dan

going to the hotel park on 26th july any one know anything about it? anyone going tsilivi around that time?

Louise M

I havent yet been to Zante but are getting married on Tsilivi Beach in September of this year. Can anyone recommend a good taverna to have the wedding reception in afterwards. About 30 guests???

Lou

Gary M

Firstly, please disregard any personal resort markings if they appear here; I haven't visited it yet.

I'm hoping to travel to Tsilivi later this summer for two weeks but I'll be travelling solo to meet friends who work there. The cheapest package holiday I've been quoted (with those oh-so-friendly single supplements) is £550 on a Bed and Breakfast basis in early September(which doesn't sound too bad). But I was wondering if I would get a better deal if I was to chance my arm and travel to Tsilivi independently, or if anyone knew of any particularly useful resort/island websites?

Many thanks in advance for your attention and info.

Terry F

Went back to tsilivi for the fourth time, just gets better. If you want to do a bit of sight seeing nip up to Bochali, the most beautiful views of the island, all the greeks go there. Nip to the local ice cream shop up there and soak in the views.... paradise!

John R

hello again samantha,
thanks for your quick reply ,some useful info there ,but as you say we will have to come and see you at theos, look forward to getting your advice first hand,,
cheers,,
john,,.

Samantha

John - good news or bad news first?! Only joking!
Definately don't go to the "water park" in Laganas. Its 3 or maybe 4 slides attached to a hotel swimming pool. Enough said!
The other water park is a Water Park! Its supposed to rival the one in Crete but havent been to it so cant comment. Went to "ours" when it first opened last year and it was fab. Great for all ages but don;t think I'd want to spend the whole day there. Most of the tour operators and shops will do day trips so it depends on your preference. If you go it alone your looking to pay about 20 euros per adult, half for kids (possibly free for littluns). I think its half price for all after 12 or 2pm.
What else to do depends again on what you like. This is where I'm gonna be cheeky and say come and see me at work (Theo Travel) so I can go into more detail!!

John R

hello samantha ,
or anyone else who can provide me with this info,
we are arriving in tsilivi on the 6th of july and will be staying for two weeks in the planos bay,we being me (dad) john, debbie my wife and of course samantha our four year old daughter, also our good friends are arriving on the 4th for two weeks, they are john, debbie and thier children hannah (9) and lauren (2)and they will also be staying in the planos bay,now then if you are not totally confused by all of that my question is ,has the new water park opened yet because judging by the reports on the one in laganas i could be in for a serious beating from the kids if they do not get to go to a decent water park at least four times during our stay,so my life is in your hands, this information plus any other tips on having a great time on the island would be greatfully received ..
many thanks .
john.

Samantha

Ryan - Cant you support a football team abit better than the Saints?!! Guess someone has to though!
Weather is good - hot today but got abit chilly in the evening about 8pm onwards.
Will look out for you and I'm hoping your girlfriend has better dress sense than you!
See you both soon, good luck at Zante airport...

Gary E

i took one pair of jeans glad i did you need them at night.

Samantha

Ryan - Hah does that mean I get to see you in your shorts every time you walk past!!!
Most people seem to be wearing jeans or trousers in the evening with t-shirts/shirts. Think it depends on how tough you are against a "breeze", now I've probably jinxed the weather & it will either be hurricanes or boiling hot!
Good luck packing and see you soon :)

Samantha

Claire - October is fairly warm but you will need to wrap up in the evening as it will get chilly. Its pretty much the same as the start of the season, May.

Hope that helps and that you end up visiting Zante!

Samantha

Ryan - for a boat trip around the whole island your looking at 20 euros per person. Be careful as some places will only do half the island at about 18 euros.
House of Asia is still open so panic not!
Have a great holiday - if you need any further help and your not staying too far away, pop into Theo Travel near Caravel Hotel!!
Even if its just to say Hi!

Ryan A

How much is costs for a boat trip around the Island of Zante?

Is the House of Asia still in Tsilivi? Best Indian Restaurant their is on the whol Island!

Ryan A

Am going to Tsilivi for the 4th Time on the 30th May which is this Sunday :o)

Went last year with my Girlfriend and had a brilliant time. We are staying at the Alexandra Beech which is the best located hotel on the Island.

We're both only 20 and found the night life + bars brilliant. We only went for 1 week last year but are going for 2 this time.

The best bar is called Ba Bel, well worth the visit!

Claire Q

hello, im planning to take my boyfriend away on holiday for his birthday and ive seen a really good offer for zante but i wouldnt be going till october will it still be warm then?

Gary E

Just got back from my second visit to Tsilivi and want to go again, The place is just perfect. The red lion pub is a good place to go if you have a young family, Planet is just down the road which is lively. Anywhere you eat is good we ate somewhere different everynight and didn't have any problems, They all do pretty much the same things at the same price. We went to Zante town (8€ taxi) not worth the trip just like going to top shops in Clifton if you know what i mean. We stayed at the daisy hotel which has been done up and now looks the part anyone who knows it they have joined the two buildings together.

Samantha

Craig - to hire a scooter you'll need your drivers/bike license which most places will keep until you return the bike.
For days out etc, it really depends on what you fancy.....Cruises, coach tours, Safari.
If your not staying too far away, how about coming to see me at Theo Travel/Rentals in Planos, on the road towards Caravel. We do car/bike hire plus trips so maybe I can be of some help?! Or just call in & say hi! No hassle or pressure selling like most!!

Craig D

hi ppl, im goin to tsvili for my first hol abroad in june for 2 weeks. Can anyone recommend things to do as im not wanting to sit around a pool for 2 weeks, are the beaches quiet? cos i want a peaceful holiday. Whats the nightlife like and would i need to take any documents to hire a motorbike ?, all comments would help, thanks folks.

Lyn G

we love tsilivi we go every year its quiet if you want quiet and there are some livley bars if you want them, we love the greek people.
any one who likes a bit of home cooking while in tsilivi should go to faulty towers there food is excellant and they are a lovely couple tony and may.
i cant remember exactly how much a taxi is to zante but its not very much.
see you in june tony and may

Helena W

Me, my husband and 3 kids will be going to Tsilivi for the 4th time this Sepember. We love it there, the Greeks are very friendly, lovely beach and plenty of places to eat and drink. Some of the best places to eat are Pierro's, popeyes, Manos's, and there is a good restaurant along the main road that do Chinese and Indian dishes. There is a new bus service now in Tsilivi which will take you into Zante town. There you will be able to hop onto another bus to visit various resorts. Taxi's are quite cheap too, so for those who fancy sampling nightlife in Laganas, a taxi will cost about £4-£5, and it will take approx 15 minutes to get there.

Sophie O

Does anyone know how far it is from Tsilivi to Laganas and how much a taxi will cost ?? Im going 6th June
Thanks

Gareth K

what is the resort of TRAGAKI like,we are arriving on the island on the 24.05.04 allocation on arrival, looks very quiet to me.Any comments would be grateful

Samantha

EMMA - forgot to mention that Laganas is about 20 minutes drive away !!

Samantha

EMMA - approx cost in taxi to Laganas is 15 euros. Watch out after midnight as prices will go up (is it stil the same in UK?) but all taxis have meters. There's only one taxi company for the whole island. Not sure on price to Argassi but reckon Laganas would be your best bet for night out.

Emma M

Anyone know how far it is from Tsilivi to Lagana or Argassi and how much it would be in a taxi? Going out there in July with seven other girlfriends and would like a few nights out in the livelier resorts.

Samantha

Claire - go see Julie at the Nail Bar, next door to Basil's Bar. Although they are not a laundrette, they will do your washing for you, but can't dry it.
Used them all last season and I never had any problems.
Hope it helps!

Emma M

Hi. Me and seven girlfriends (all in our mid 20's are going to Tsilivi at the end of July 04. We're hoping to have a few nights out in Lagana and Argassi so could anyone tell me how far it is in a taxi and approx how much it will cost? Thanks Em

Ann M

Claire,
I have been to Zante 5 times now, and have never seen a laundrette, but then I never looked for one. Your rep should know when you get there. You'll have a great time, even with no clean socks!

Claire

i am going to Zante in 4 weeks with 2 children. i need to know if there are any laundrettes

Bill O

Along the main road in the centre of Tsilivi there are several car rentals all within about 150 meters. There are also some away from the center still on the main road.

Glen H

Any one advise on where I can hire a car in tsilivi i.e closest pick-up points and prices etc.

Thanks
Glen

Clare B

Off to Tsilivi in Mid May, My 12th visit to Zante. Taxi is about 20 mins from airport and about £20.00. Beach is lovely soft sand and shallow water for long way. Quite nightlife in tsilivi so head for Argassi with families or Laganas for full on night clubs.
Hire a pedlo on Laganas beach and you will see turtles without paying for a boat trip. Can't wait to go again.....

Barbara G

A large group of us, family and friends, will be going to Tsilivi in September. Age ranges from 8 - 60! Personally I like Greek culture and cuisine can anyone recomend good traditional Greek Tavernas? Also are there ant nice Tavernas and Bars by the Beach? If you can recomend any other activities and the like we would be grateful. Got kids ages 8, 10, 15 16, anything for them? thanks.

Juskuran B

We stayed at the Nerraider apartments and had the time of our lives. it was a few minuites away from Tsilvi beach. recommend the Summer time bar, where the staff are really friendly and the food is fab.We would love to go there again and if you are looking to go on holiday then this is the place for you. HI TARA!!!

Gerald B

The taxi fare from airport to Tsilivi will probably be around 15 to 20 Euros.

Stephen H

Does anyone know the taxi fare from Zante airport to Tsilivi.
Not going till September 04, but a rough idea will do.

Thanks

Juliet L

We have travelled to Tsilivi for the past 2 years, after being to several Greek Islands. It is the best yet. And of course it has Greek restaurants, it's a GREEK island!!!!!
Best place to eat - Manos Grill(located in the quieter area of Planos) - good food at a good price , and friendly service (including yearly Xmas Card if you get asked to fill in Maria's Book of Love). Best bar by far is 'The Ark', fantastic double act between Nikos and George, decent music and live acts weekly. Planos is the quieter end of the resort, you can still have a whale of a time, but, 5 minutes walk down bank brings you to the main shopping/taverna area and the more bustling nightlife.

Rachel C

I went to Tsilivi in September 2002 with my partner, sister and her husband, we had a fantastic time. The Place, People and the Food is amazing, we loved it so much me and my Partner are going back July 2004.

Colin G

This was not a holiday from Hell but I dont expect to be going back. The airport is an absolute nightmare and that was in October I would not want to try it in July or August.Best food was the Zeus restaraunt.Best bar on the beach was Freddies.Best bar on the main street was The two Brothers.Great speedboat trip with Spiros (Levante) from Tsilivi harbour.Stayed at the Contessina Hotel it was a lovely hotel but for bed and breakfast read self catering, as the breakfast was a complete disaster.I would not put anyone off going to Tsilivi it is a nice place but not suitable for us.

Alan P

Thanks for that Gary. It looked good, and now thanks to you, sounds good.

Gary E

In response to Alan Pritchett, The Daisy studios are great, You are five mins walk from the centre which means a good nights sleep, The pool is great and the pool bar is very freindly, Ted works all day and then craig at night both will do anything for you. As you are walking to the centre you will pass a place called Petra, Which is not on any listings, But the food is great.

Clare & Rebecca

We came back from Tsilivi on 29th Sept. Starting to get quieter there now, but still had a good time. The place to go if you're a couple or have family. Restaurants were all still busy, the bars quieter so. Best bar was Planet Pub with Babis, Pedros, Nicos and Ricky - good cocktails! Height of the season sounds like its a bit overcrowded in the resort. Hire a car for the day (not from your rep - they'll rip you off) and drive around the island, the roads are rubbish and few of them are on the map you're given but there are some gorgeous little coves to discover, and you can go where you want, when you want rather than on a coach tour. Take a boat trip on the Levante with Spiros for a great few hours! We wouldn't go back as we've seen everything, but would definitely recommend it!!

Bex

ta VICKY! my email add is wotever123@hotmail.com have a FAB time! :)

Vicky

No problems BEX will try my best for ya!! tell me what ya E-mail address is and Ill mail it to ya when I get back x

Bex

me and my friend, both 18, just got back from tsilivi: had a fantastic time! it's a bit quiet cos it's getting to the end of the season but all in all lots of fun still to be had! best bar to go to is jokers, dont bother with enigma nightclub unless they've got a special thing on cos it's dead! beach is great, good boat trips that can be arranged from the various tourist places are worth going on too. food's excellent from most places, try the greek dishes, it's wot they do best! say hey to nikos at the tapas bar: he sure does try hard! watch out for all the greek guys, they are very nice but have a particular opinion about english girls that is all well and good if u know that to start with, and dont mind!
hey vicky: if you're flying out this weekend could you try and get a pic of one of the waitors at the athena? (luvly food by the way!) called yannos i think and is the IMAGE of my brother, unfortunately my pic didnt come out so no one believes me! ta! hope you have a great time.

Susie V

Just got back from Tsilivi and absolutely loved it. The resort was very relaxing, with a warm blue sea and plenty of sun loungers. Plenty of family run Greek restaurants and, luckily, not many clubs and bars.
Don't miss the Zakfari jeep trip. It was, without a doubt, the best day of the week!!!

Vicky

hey there people. am flying out to tsilivi for my third time this sunday. im a bit concerned that tsilivi has gone down hill and that im not going to have a good time. i dont like laganas so wont be going there for a night out. what is the nightlife like in tsilivi at the moment, especially for people for my own age (17) i will be grateful for any comments. thanks xxxxx

Alan P

We are going to Tsilivi next July for our first visit to the Greek Isles. (having spent the last 6 years in Protaras, Cyprus) We are staying at tha Daisy Studios, can anyone please tell us what they are like and how the resort compares to Protaras.

Geoff D

Zante was the first Greek place I have visited which was like Blackpool. Not recommended for the Grrece only lover.
However had a great time cause we stayed in the Balcony Hotel overlooking Tsilivi bay up the steps at the far end of the beach. Very clean family run hotel, has its own web site, good food.

Jenni W

Just got back from a week in Tsilivi.

Had a lovely time - because of the time of year it was quite quiet which helped - there were lots of spare sun loungers on the beach!

Beach and sea were great - you can walk about 50m from shore and still be standing up.

The resort does cater for the English, but there are lots of Greek restaraunts - serving traditional Greek food and lots of other things. Don't got to shop - there really are only touristy shops but everything seemed good value for money.

We satyed at the Tsilivi Beach Hotel - which is a 3* - it was lovely but don't expect UK 3* standard accommodation.

For a peaceful weeks holiday this is a great place - but best to be prepared for the queues at the airport.

Angie H

We got back yesterday and if you are a couple or a family with small children this is the resort for you.In the 2 weeks we stayed there was no lager louts and no loud roudy groups. There is a lot of traffic noise but thats the same in most places. For the last drink of the night try Moby Dicks on the beech and quiet. We would go back.

Courtney B

Stayed at the Tsilivi Beach Hotel and returned on the 18th September.
Hotel was an ideal location on the seafront.
Resort was too "English" for our liking with too many football shirts and chips.
Mopeds and noisy car exhausts spoilt many an evening meal as restaurants mostly on the main road.
Try the Planos area, slightly quieter and better quality of food. Try Manos Grill Restaurant in Planos, recommended to us by a couple we met - Vinnie and wife from Doncaster.
(How's your head Vinnie????)
Not a bad holiday, but not the place for us!!

Paula B

We are going to Tsilivi on 2nd October for 2 weeks. Me my partner and 4 children aged between 19 months and 13 years. We are staying at the St Dennis apartments. Can anyone out there give me any info. on what sort of holiday both adults and the children can expect and any info on where we are staying. It would be much appreciated.

Paul W

Definately the best resort on the island (we scootered around one day and checked out the others). Not to noisy (if you want serious nightlife go to Laganas, it reminded us of a very sunny Blackpool), loads of bars and even a couple of places to have a dance. We tried a different restaurant every night and did not have a bad meal in any, plenty of authentic greek food (which has included chips for the last 12 years I have been visiting various islands of Greece), two people can have a decent meal for 20-30 euros including drinks. Nice beach fairly clean with lovely crystal clear sea, 6 euros for a pair of sunbeds with a shade for the day. We were very sad to leave and would definately go back. Even though the airport is a nightmare, but they are supposed to be expanding it, but it is Greece so don't expect it to be anytime soon!!

Myself and six others returned from Tsilivi on Wednesday and I must say we were happy to be back. The hotel we were in was in the quieter part of town, the beach was man-made and not sand. The hotel we stayed in charged us to pay for sunbeds on the hotel grounds. he shops in Tsilivi sold the same goods, rubbish. The food was always served with chips. If you wanted a greek life for your stay forget it.
And the airport, we arrived and stood for an hour BEFORE we were even in the queue to check in. Not good when there were no seats to sit on.
Will not be going back to Zante again.

Got back from Tsilivi last week and i have to say that was the best holiday i have ever been on.The weather was so hot!I stayed with my boyfriend at Trianon studios.Although the appartment was very basic and had no pool, they were kept clean by a maid who came round regularly.Having no pool didn't actually matter because most places let you use their pool anyway. The beach was lovely. The sea was lovely and shallow. We were five minutes from the nightlife and the beach. The food is great.didn't have one bad meal.Would recommend Popeye's and the Tapas restaurant on a tues especially as there is greek dancing.I would definately go back there again as would my boyfriend. The excursions are quite expensive but would recommend the cruise round the island to see the shipwreck and the blue caves. They are beautiful.Only bad part of the holiday was going horse riding. For an hour for two adults it cost 30 euro's and was a waste of money. The horses weren't particularly well looked after and i found it boring.I would highly recommend Tsilivi. It caters for all ages and is well worth the money.

Lindsey T

I am looking at going to Tsilivi with my fella soo and are looking at staying in the Maris Hotel does anyone know what it is like??

Joan M

JUST SPENT A WEEK IN TSILIVI WITH A 15 YR OLD & A 12 YR OLD OH AND THE HUBBY WE ALL LOVED IT.THE NEW WATER PARK IS EXPENSIVE 14 & ABOVE CLASSED AS ADULTS AS IN MOST PLACES SO IT BUMPED THE PRICES UP ON TRIPS ETC. YOU COULD GET A 2 COURCE MEAL FOR ALL INC LOCAL WINE FOR ABOUT 30 TO 50 EUROS. YOU NEED TO SHOP AROUND FOR GIFTS ETC AS THEY ARE ALWAYS CHEAPER ELSEWHERE. IF YOU WANT A GOOD ENGLISH BREAKFAST GO TO TIZZYS, ALSO DO A GOOD MUG OF TEA. CALYPSOS DO VERY GOOD FOOD, HUGH PORTIONS AND A LITTLE PLACE CALLED SWEET REVENGE IF THR KIDS WANT BURGERS CHEAP AS WELL. THE PLACE WAS PEACEFULL BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF YEAR AND THE BEACH WAS GOOD SWAM EVERYDAY. THE BOAT TRIPS AROUND THE ISLAND WERE GOOD PRICES VARY WE PAID 35 E FOR ALL TRIP WAS WITH CAVO GROSSO. WILL GO AGAIN IF WE CAN GO WITH KOSMAR THE APARTMENTS WERE CLEAN AND HAD MAID SERVICE EVERY DAY.

Fredo C

Admiral Apartments - lived up to the name JMC (quoted by a rep as standing for Just More C**p). Overcrowded, exclusively English, incredibly cramped, couldn't see water in pool for bodies.
I suspect that the good comments here come from JMC, Thomas Cook and Sunset employees.
Their reps were rude and totally unhelpful - I was there from 21/8 to 4/9.

Marie W

Got back from a 2 week holiday in Tsilivi last weekend and I definitely recommend it. I stayed in the Filoxenia apts, which were about a 20 minute walk from the resort centre, but were lovely- very clean & quiet, with friendly staff.
The resort was pretty quiet, because of the time of year, so the nightlife wasn't great. On the plus side, it was always easy to find seats in any of the bars.THAT bar was one of the best pubs we went to,music was pretty good, reasonably priced drinks.A bar that just has to be mentioned for its silliness is Tizzys, just across the road from Athena restaurant. We never actually went in there, but it certainly caught our eye!! The sign above the door said "English bar", but one Thursday night, it had a bit of an identity crisis and covered up the sign with an Irish tricolour, put on a Dubliners CD & put up a "Céad Míle Fáilte" sign (spelled incorrectly!!) It was very funny-obviously there had been an influx of Irish tourists that day!!
Went to a good few different restaurants, but can't remember the names of most of them. No complaints about any of them anyway, lovely food and so much cheaper than at home. Oh yeah, and almost all of them had at least one cute waiter!! :-) Popeyes, Contessina and Athena are the only three whose names I can remember and they were all lovely. Athena has got to be mentioned-great food & VERY friendly staff. (Hello George!!!) We went there early on in the holiday and every night after as we walked by we were asked back in. We went back there on our last night and again the waiters were extremely friendly-my friend & I got a lot of attention from 2 in particular. (Antonio & I didn't quite catch the other guy's name) They seemed very disappointed when we asked for the bill and made to leave, trying to convince us to have some wine & wait around til they finished work!! No offence lads, but ye were a bit old for us!!
Only managed to get to the beach once (and that was at night!!) cos our apartments were so far from it, but it looked fine.
The shops were above the usual crappy souvenirs so prevalent in other resorts. Every shop always had at least a few nice things- ceramics, olive wood, etc.
I would definitely go back to Tsilivi and would recommend it to couples and families. There weren't many groups of young single people around when we were there (end of Aug/start of Sept), I don't know if this is the case earlier on in the season, but if you can live without really wild nightlife I recommend it-a good place to just relax.

Dave H

We went for two weeks 11th August to 25th August. The weather was great we stayed at the Admirals it was brilliant. The appartment was lovely and clean and towels and beds were changed every two days.
Pools were clean and food was very reasonably priced no problems everything the kids could want as well.
POPEYES RESTURANT in Tsilivi center is absolutely fabulous they made you feel so welcome and on our daughters birthday they gave her a present and put candles in her dessert and all the staff sang to her.
If you go say hello to Denis and the staff from us.there may be a queue but its worth the wait.Good things are worth waiting for.
Try Kaliva pub, theres a play area for the kids while you enjoy a choice of coctails or a meal. Staff are lovely and will help you enjoy your holiday.
Our first visit to Greece and we will be back.Remember your high factors.
If you need a doctor use the one next to pharmacy I saved 30 euros
by not going through reps. Taxi from one end of town was only 5 euros
to other and if you keep reciepts you can claim it back from insurance when you return home.

David C

Tsilivi is a lovely place to stay with a relaxed pace. It is big enough to walk off the local food and wine with sea views and street life to keep you entertained. There are plenty of places to eat - the Greek nights are great, plenty of dancing, plate and table dancing! Some of the Taverna's had either football or current films showing, which provided cool entertainment at the hotest part of the day. We stayed in the Hotel Mediteranee - Great Hotel!!!

Pete W

In reply to Jules Mack--yes it is busy at The Amyrilis apartments, your in the centre of the town. I stayed there 13 years ago and it was noisy then. The plus side is your near eveything and the apartments are excellent. If you enjoy the resort and want to return sometime try Sophia apartments in Manos brochure, they're in a nice quiet area and not far from the beach or the resort centre. Don't worry about the noise you'll enjoy Tsilivi you haven't got thumping discos about,or noisy music bars where you are staying.

Pete W

Returned to Tsilivi for the first time in 13 years. This has gone from a quiet resort to a moderately busy one. But this I think is for the better. There is more choice of eating places and prices are reasonable considering it is now the Euro and not the Drachma. Drinks are pricey but aren't they everywhere. Cheap in the supermarkets for the drink on your balcony. if you get fed up with Greek food or the kids won't eat it, try Faulty Towers English taverna--English staff and all English meals, just off the main street. If you want a resort with plenty of eating places, not too busy, a good beach, safe swimming, you can't go wrong with Tsilivi and there's plenty of quiet accomodation just out of the town area. If you like shopping you will have to go into Zante town a short bus ride away.

Zoe J

Returned today from Tsilivi, I can say to anyone going to Zante to go on the Zante Levante Speedboat Excursion, this was excellent value for money, visiting either the South of the island to see the Turtles and swimming in the caves or North of the island to the Shipwreck.
Sprios the captain of the speedboat is brilliant and will keep you amused throughout the trip. See: www.zantelevante.com
Sea is wonderful at Tsilivi and best place to eat, which sometimes you may have to wait but the food is excellent at the Roxani and Frank Taverna situated next Jokers Dancing bar. The food is second to none along with the service received and rest assured you will not be let down with the food here.
I felt the beach at Tsilivi could of been cleaner however that could just be from the few dirty people who failed to clean up after themselves. (you know who you are!)
Island of Kefalonia is beautiful and worth a visit even if just to see mrytos beach.
We travelled with Britannia through thomson Just and this is the worst airline we have ever been witht the attitude of the staff certainly needed a lot to be desired and will ensure I do not go with them again.
This morning we we taken to the airport 3 hours!!!!! before departure of the flight and airport only takes a couple of flights at a time and is a nightmare however this is just made worst by the tavel company.

On a whole Zakynthos is wonderful place to visit and I would recommend anyone to go here.. and ensure they do not leave without
a trip on the Levante Speedboat which is a must.

Jules M

WE ARE GOING TO STAY AT THE AMARYLIS APPARTMENTS ARE THEY
REALLY VERY NOISY?? WE ARE VERY CONCERNED??? WE GO ON
MONDAY

IS THE GREEK NIGHT ANY GOOD ??

WHERE IS CHEAP TO EAT???

Gary E

In reply in Angie, Yes you can hire deposit boxes at all hotels and fans from any shop, Which are cheaper than the hotels. Taxi from the airport is around 8-10 euros, Enjoy your holiday!

Angie H

Im going to Tsilivi in September Can anyone tell me can you hire safty deposit boxes and fans from anywhere. And does anyone know the price of a taxi from the airport.

Diane H

We stayed for a week at the Amarylis Apartments in Tsilivi. We counldn't sleep for the first 3 nights due to the noise, but then we found out most of it came from our own hotel pool bar!

Beach was lovely. Try out the jet ski and the banana boat, (they don't tip you up)shame! The food was excellent and we found several good places. Try the Olive Tree and Roxanne and Franks, very small but excellent.

This is our second time to Zante and if it wasn't for the airline (My Travel) having such a poor service in and out, we would definately go back. Sorry but its the USA for us next year.

Don B

being serious, brillent hoilday recomend it to anyone.its so unspoilt.very [retty place.people are mostrly very frendly, beaches are nice and clean.a bit rocky thourgh, nightlife is good, english music and a good armospere.there ares many sky sports places there which show all the footy.people mostly very friendly.theres a mcdonalds in the middle of the island whichb was a bit of a shock.it is now closed down but i belive its re-opening shortly.many places to eat out.and many supermarkerts.
AND SOMEONE ASKED FOR HELP ABOUT PRICES.
the prices there are not cheap but they arnt too expensive.about the same as england genuarlly.thourgh some stuff is cheaper.pertrol is cheaper,by a little.but they vairy from shop 2 shop.so if you go into the shop AND SEE SOMETHING REALLY EXPENSIVE GO SOMEONE WERE ELSE.cause it is cheaper.very clean there and very peacfull.
defently go back there

Mr T

Joan,
I don't know about the price of petrol, but food and drink wise it's not too bad. To buy a pint in a bar/res your looking at 2/2.5 euro, for a cocktail anything from 2.5 to 4. food wise your looking at around 11 euro for a steak or something like that, or you can go a bit cheaper and get pasta, or local dishes for anything from 5 euro to around 8 or 9.
We ate out every night, and the most we ever spent on a meal and drinks was 30 euro. most nights we could manage around 20. Go to Akroplis as it has THE nicest food in Tsvili and the prices are very good. We kept going back once we realised no where else even came close.

Charlie G

I stayed at the hotel Mediterranee for two weeks returning on August 10th, it was the first time me and my girlfriend had been to Greece. Overall we throughly enjoyed it, the beach was lovely, the sea crysal clear, the local people are so friendly and the weather was just right.
I would recommend going on the speedboat trip from Tsilivi Harbour, it is absolutely brilliant, its called Zante-Levante speedboat trips. There are loads of boat trips availiable in the resort, but all of these trips are aboard huge boats with about 500 other tourists on them. The speedboat trip has only 20 people on it, it gets to smugglers cove before any other boats and goes right up to the beach. Smugglers cove gets quite crowded when the big boats get there so it is really good to get there first. We paid 30 euros each for the trip which was a bit more than the trips aboard the large boats but it was well worth it.
Watch out for the gypsy girls selling roses on a night, apparently they are professional thieves!!
We had a night out in Laganas, we didnt think much of it, the drinks were over priced, the music was awful it was all cheesy R&B and Hip Hop. We couldnt find anywhere playing any house music which was disappointing! The average age of people there must have been about 16. The best thing was there was a macdonalds there!!
There is a macdonalds in Tsilivi, but it was closed the whole time we were there. The food in Tsilivi wasnt that great, there was a very nice indian near the hotel mediteranee, popeyes was lovely and Romeo and Juliets was also very nice.
Overall the holiday was great but i wont be returning to Zante again as there are so many other places in the world that i need to see before i am too old.

Don B

it was execlent best hoilday ever
apart from beaches, nightlife, peacfulness and shopping and charm

Joan M

CAN U TELL ME HOW EXPENSIVE FOOD AND DRINKS ARE IN TSILIVI NEVER BEEN BEFORE ALSO HIRED A CAR IS IT PRICEY TO FILL UP ?

Mr T

Loved the place. Nothing too over the top, but just right if you want to relax and keep it mellow.
Would recommend to anyone. Go on the boat trip round the island with Tsvili Travel, only 15 Euro each. Just make sure to take food and drink, as the snack bar is VERY expensive.
Best restaurant without doubt was the Acropolis, nothing else came near.
Waterpark was okay, worth going too but no where near as good or big as the one in Crete. Go in the evening as it's cheaper.

Rich H

we have just came back from 2 weeks at the hotel petros in tsilivi. I would not be exagerating to say it is easily the best hotel I have stayed in, in Greece (corfu/crete). The rooms are large and clean, aswell as having air con and a fridge. The hotel itself is situated on the road in to Tsilivi in a quiet location, roughly 10 mins walk from the centre of town. There are still quite a few tavernas and boozers bear by so if you don't fancy walking into town a night out can be had in the vicinity of the hotel. The pool is also very good, a decent size, clean and warm. The hotel is 2 years old, so is still in good condition.
As far as the resort itself goes, there is a wide range of boozers and resturantes and was quite lively while we were there, without gong over the top. people looking for an authentic greek village may be a little dissapointed although there is a good selection of greek restuarantes.
All in all, I would say this resort is best suited to couples and families. Groups of lads/lasses would probably enjoy laganas more.

Marie S

we are going to tsilivi in september for two week's staying at hotel petros any comments would be welcome as we have never been to greece before cheers

Sinead B

Im just back from staying in the Neraider apartments by the beach at Tsilivi, I was very disappointed in the whole accomodation experience, they are a pathetic excuse for self catering. For anyone who is staying there in the future please feel free to ask me some questions. The town was lovely plenty of shops which more or less sell the same things, souvenirs, fake designer clothes and handbags. There were quiet bars on the beach ( which I highly recommend FREDDIES BEACH BAR) or in town there are the louder and more livelier bars. For major partying night outs I would suggest Laganas which isn't too far away in a taxi (which isnt too expensive), but Tsilivi caterers for families, couples, young people and those who just want a holiday in the sun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lilian D

Just a quick message - we went for a night to Lagonas and it was quite expensive - 5 Euro for a bottle of Bud, Tsilivi is about 3 Euro. Plus taxi from Tsilivi to Lagonas was 15 Euro.

Lilian D

Just came back from Tsilivi on 4th August and we had a good time - could have stayed longer. Met a nice group people and had a good laugh. Not as many bars and clubs as Lagonas but we preferred Tsilivi for the friendly atmosphere.

Quick hello to Linda, Keith, Kerry and John at the Geordie Pride.

Beach was lovely and the water was really clear.

We hired a car for three days and saw all of the Island, including the Blue Caves and the Shipwreck.

We would go back.

Karen R

i stayed in the admiral apartments and they were great the pool was a bit crowded but we just headed down to the planet bar and u get to use the pool there. i would reccomend tsilivi for couples and familes i was with my boyfriend and we loved it but if i went with my friends i think laganas would be best because of the nightlife but it does smells, so we were really glad we went to tsilvi and would highley recommend it to anyone.

Irritated T

Well hate is a very strong word but i would never go back their again. i stayed at the Tsilivi beach hotel. i didnt like the beach particularly and all of the bars were virtually on top of each other in the town. and the beach was sooo crowded. all of the people that love it are obviously easily satisfied. it doesnt take much to satisfy me but the only thing i liked was the Zakfari and staying in the room at night. the pools were nice but obviously not cleaned out very often as you could see the grease on the surface. There were far too many sun loungers. however i do have something nice to say. the room was kept very clean, the bar staff were lovely, (and not bad looking) and the reception staff were brilliant.

Valerie B

We are staying in Tsilivi the last 2 weeks of August at the Princess Hotel/apartments, is it nice? are there fans in the rooms? is it a friendly run hotel?

Nicola

Visited Tsilivi in may 2002. Stayed at the Admiral apartments...lovely and clean, friendly staff....what ever happened to the wonderful Anthony????? any one know ??

Any way goingback in september....has anything changed????? whats the resort/weather like in September...Thank s

Paul R

Hello we stayed at the Admirals Apparthotel for 2 weeks in July, we loved the appartments they where very clean, shame about the towels on the sunloungers might have stayed round the pool if we could have got some.
Tsilivi is a great place usually stay in Laganas it was a nice change to stay in tsilivi quiter but still got the taxis to go to Laganas, until we realised it was cheapr to hire a car, so we did, from M.A.P.S. car rental in Tsilivi i strongly recommend then great service and great people ask for Peter.

Shame the Euro has put the prices up!!!!!!!

Cerys H

Stayed in the main part of Tsilivi just off the main street - found the nightlife very diverse in as much as you have a wide range of bars to choose from: quiet drink/karaoke/quiz/cocktails etc.
We found that by far Magdelana's was the best bar with its variety of entertainment and very friendly staff (especially the bar-man Sakis !) and not to mention the dog Spanner !!.

Would definately go there again (we tried Laganas a few years ago and much prefer Tsilivi) as we found that the Greeks are the most friendly people abroad that we have come across. Highly recommended!!

Samantha W

Got back July 13 went for a week and had brilliant weather, everyone really friendly. Hire a fan and take plenty of immodium with you!

We also had the bug for a day and a half each but didn't affect the holiday too much. Quite a few people we talked to in our complex had suffered with it too.

We stayed at Dinos studios, fabulous brand new apartments with a great pool really peaceful at night and just a few mins walk to the resort.

We have been to Laganas before a few years ago and loved it. One thing that did concern me was the number of rats in the town. I saw one running next to a restaurant, tons down the side of one of the chinese restaurants, one dead in the road and another running along the main road into Tsilivi.....Has anyone else see them?! Think that could have something to do with the bugs that everyone keeps getting?

Don't want to worry anyone as I don't know if this is common in Greece or not...I didn't see any when we went to Laganas but that could just be luck. Think they need to tackle the problem though.

Sally G

Well what can i say Tsilivi - the place on Zakynthos Island!!!!!!

The people are really friendly and they make you feel at home - just a quick hello to all the hard working ladz at The Boat House Taverna!!!!!! - well recommended for a meal out and especially Tuesday's - Kareoka Night - Your in for a treat!

The Beach is beautiful especially watching the sun rise and a having a night swim about 4am!!! (i'm talking with experience!)

I really do recommend Tsilivi, I have been there three times already and soon to return for my forth adventure! Try the Tsilivi Beach Hotel - the Best hotel on Zante! - Great view, location, peaceful and a great laugh with the bar staff! - they are all really friendly - See you all real soon!

Gary E

Just a quick tip for the airport, Yes it is like a port-a-cabin but it aint that bad, But if you fancy a beer dont go to the bar in departures as it will cost you 3 euros for half a pint walk up the stairs into the duty free shop and you can buy 6 half pint cans for 2.90 euros (Myoths) i think it was called local brew. Also the Mcdonalds in the town is now closed due to not having a liecense.

Gary E

going again next year liked it that much.

Selina M

Went with a group of friends to the Zante Star couldnt fault it in anyway. The hosts Tracey and Yannis and of course the dog Louis were fantastic. Apartements are fantastic with everything you need, although the first night in the apartment was very hot and humid so would recommend hiring a fan from reception. The pool and recpetion area and excellent aswell with themed nights during the week which are great fun. The centre of town may be a bit far for some people but still had a good range of restrurants and shops.

Lynne H

Reading the comments made by Dave Shute, he seems to have had a very poor holiday! He must be a very hard man to place as he has no nice remarks to make at all! Moan, moan, moan!!!!! I have been visiting Tsilivi for about 10 years now, and although I could do without the Macdonalds which appeared on the main street this year, it is a great place for a holiday. There are many beautiful and authentic Greek restaurants and bars, both quiet and noisy, whichever suits your taste.
GET A LIFE DAVE SHUTE!!!!!!

Jon H

My wife and i have just returned from this marvellous resort , we loved it the weather was brilliant and the bars and tavernas were just right for us. Accomodation is basic as is usual for Greece however the room was clean and tidy. Lovely beach with crystal clear water and sand not the usual gravel affair. There was a gastric bug going around and we both had problems with this on the last three days of our holiday. Do take medication for this with you as it is very expensive to buy medication. This didn't detract from our holiday overall however and we would definitely go back to Tsilivi. Our favorite restaurant was the Contessina - fab !!!!

Debbie W

A very nice resort. just need to be really careful at the moment when you go out there.. Myself and my partner have just come back after a week out there. there is a gastric bug going around. i was really i'll for a day and a half with it and after talking to a few other people just in the resort i was in i found out that nearly the whole island has had it. i would strongly recommend you take dioralyte and immodioum with you. don't see the doctor because they rip you off, just to come and see you they charge 100 euros excluding medication.
don't let this put you off going because it was absolutly beautiful out there just be prepared.

Siobhan R

I caant believe how many others like myself have been to the Utopia Cocktail Bar in Tsilivi it was absolutly wicked there and the bar staff make u feel extreamly welcome. I totally fell in love with Destan the barman. If you visit Utopia tell him Siobhan said hi and she misses him. Also if any1 has information about living in Zante would you please let me know!

Tracey L

tsilivi is lovely. there are loads of restaurants and bars and the beaches are clean!! the sea is shallow and is suitable for young children. but please bear in mind that if you want a really lively, up till 6 in the morning holiday then go to laganas. tsilivi is for families and couples. there are a few lively bars but i think you will be disappointed if you are into clubbing. by the way the best supermarket is st denis as the young bloke that works in there,NOT GEORGE THE OWNER!!!!,is well fit. he made my holiday one of the best i'd had. say hi to him if you see him, his name is salih and hands off girlies he's mine!!

Vanessa R

Me and my partner have just come back last Friday and we had a really good time. We stayed at Plessas Studios near Paradise Cocktail Bar where we made some really good friends. Apartments were basic but clean, although I would recommend hiring a fan from Dennis who owns the apartments as there is no aircon. It only cost us 12euros for a week and a half. The beach is gorgeous and all of the pools are open to anybody so don't worry if you don't have a pool. The locals make such an effort and the majority of the restaurants are excellent. Cocktails are quite cheap but John Smiths is about 5euros (£4.30ish)and the banks really are not as bad as peoople say they are. I used the minibank at least 5 times and it always had cash in it. There is a great mixture of people, families, couples, groups of girls/boys.
I would recommend this resort to anybody but beware if you decide to have a night out in Lagana as the majority of people who go there for the clubs etc must be under 18!

Diane B

In answer to Leanne Sherridans question. Me and my fella were in Tsilivi Sept 2001. Basically the place can be as mad or as tame as you want it to be. We were 24 and 26 when we went so wanted to get boozed up and boogied up most nights, and we definately managed it. I am sure you will have a great time. We are giving Corfu a whirl this year (sidari) so I am expectimg similar if not more there.

Marcella B

my boyfreind and i are staying in the contessina in tsilivi and the end of july for two weeks. we just wanted to know if the rooms have a fridge?

also, are the cashpoints in tsilivi really that bad?

Baz D

Just got back from 2 weeks staying at the Park hotel in Tsilivi.Hotel was basic with no real frills but it suited us fine. It's also just been decorated so it's nice and newlike . Only fault was the £70 for 2 weeks air con which I wouldn't pay for - it's WAY too dear , go into Zante town and buy a cooling fan for £13 instead - does the job just as good and it's now in our conservatory. The weather was upto 46 deg C during the day and 32 deg C at night so it was hot !!!

The resort is lively enough to be fun but thank god it's not like Laganas - we all enjoyed ourselves at night. Check out the scottish lassies as Yiammas bar, try Sandras Bar and also check out Basils bar if you fancy a drink without thumping music etc......
All the food we had ranged from fine to good - especially liked the Apollon , Calypso , Acropolis and Nerfilis Restaurants. If you want a nice bar near to the beach for lunch no doubting there - Freddie's Bar , liked the South African staff and if Rory gets too cheeky 'smack him one !!!!
We had several nice lunches there and highly recommed it.

Tsilivi is a resort with enough life to be fun but at night you can go 'home' to bed and sleep peacefully - it suited us four 30-to-40 somethings fine. The food was cheap but a pint can cost 3 euros (£2.20)which we thought was dear - get drunk on cheap wine instead !!
We probably won't go back to Zante for one reason , it's a small island and we feel we have seen most of the island and we like to see new places and new people, but we enjoyed our holiday and the resort of Tsilivi.

Liz L

Stayed at Angelika Apartments-good Greek standard (except facecloths pretending to be bath towels). Pool/pool bar excellent. Weather singeing hot. Resort fine apart from the Blackpool Strip round Popeyes! Beach sandy and child friendly-shallow warm water safe for paddling-old and young kids! Best taverna without doubt Metaxi Mas-the food is wonderful, loads of choice at reasonable prices and can't speak too highly of staff. Metaxi Mas means'Among Friends'- absolutely spot on. Don't miss Greek Night on Saturdays. Could go back any time - roll on next summer!

Billy G

i just got back from tsiliv about half an hour ago hehe, staywed in dannas hotel/apartments, it was very hot all week no clouds, beach was 5 mins away, nightlife could have been better it was a bit quiet fro some reason, spent alot of time in ark bar, with crazy george and nikos who made sure we had loads to drink all night loads of freebies too, good holiday, next time may go magaluf ofr a mad one!!!!!

Jacqueline G

First visited Tsilivi 10 years ago and we fell in love with the place and have made some great friends there. It's not as clean as it used to be by a long way, lots of litter around, countless cigarette end on the beach. We have noticed that standards have fallen in general in recent years, but expect that in part is due to the amount of visitors that Tsilivi now has. Most of the people are still the same friendly welcoming people they've always been, but we agree with the lady's comment below when she says some of the people have the atitude of couldn't care less,we've got your money, and what more do you want.We have also noticed this. This may not be of importance to some people so would not effect the enjoyment of their holiday, but we will not be visitng for an 11th year.

Leanne S

Going to Tsilivi with my boyfriend im 22 and he is 25 we are not expecting it to be a party place till 6 in the morning but i would like to know if it has bars and a club somewhere to go and have a dance and good drink ?

Ann H

I will be staying at the Hotel Medeterranea in Tsilivi in September. So far I haven't read any favourable comments about the hotel. Is there anyone out there has stayed in the hotel and liked it. I just need to know that it is clean and not too noisy.

Donna M

was there anyone who stayed at tsilivi beach hotel from 9th june- 23rd june who actually had a great time??? sorry 4 a second visit we were well gutted and wont be back ever and would not recommend it to anyone

Donna M

sorry wont be back for a third year, place was totally dead, no one seemed to make an effort to try and slightly amuse hoilidaymakers it was a case of youve paid your money, its mid june what do you xpect? sorry but we expected more, yes it is a beatiful place, but hotel put us in old building and we were over-ridden with ants, matresses were paper thin, no sleep 4 a fortnight, dodgy hips with a visit 2 doctor to prove it, and no help or apology from maria the manageress. we paid a lot more for our holiday this year and got less hospitality, less care and lower standards. place has a lot of potential if they knew how to run a business but unfortunately dont. definately 4 the over 90s and anoraks!! have an 11 year old son, so was not expecting a 18-30 holiday but come on!!!!!!!!

Donna M

sorry, second visitto tsilivi, in two years and were very disappointed this year, place was dead for end june. tsilivi beach hotel was afarce this year, clean, great pool but totally lifeless in charm and hospitality. nothing for kids to do, no entertainment, for a hotel its size it was a disgrace. if your idea of a holiday is pay your money and wallow in boredom then book a holiday in anywhere but tsilivi. 4 the over 90s and party pooopers!!! sorry wont be back

has anyone stayed at Arkadia Villas (delux) in Kipseli - Tsilivi, we are travelling there with 87 years old grandma, parents, and three children under ten, any helpful advise appreciated !!

Tsilivi is definately a family oriented place, excellent places to eat, plenty places to drink, really reasonably priced could even say cheap. Definatley not the place to boogie till 6am but if you are into people watching then you will have plenty to talk about. All the restaurants are equal high standards.

Staying in the Hotel Park - anybody stayed there? Opinions, please?

Thanks.

I spent six months in Zante last year working. I lived in Tsilivi which out of all resorts on the island,is the best,in my opinion.

Just returned from 2 weeks in Tsilivi, fantasticly hot weather right
through culminating in a thunder storm on the last evening. Phoenix
Beach Hotel was terrific - clean, friendly staff and guests, great
pool which our toddler and baby both loved. Beach is zero meters away,
with shallow, clear and warm sea - ideal for kids. Lovely views.
Tsilivi tavernas are way too expensive compared to recent hols in
Kefalonia - made London prices look cheap! Beer up to 3 Euros per
pint! Food quality is only average as well, so not good value for
money. Exception is Trente Nova, which has good food, quiet location,
popular, and proper hygiene (also generally in short supply). Moby
Dicks has great playground for toddlers adjacent to beach.
A new hotel next to Phoenix Beach was about to admit its first guests
the day we left, which will house 400 Germans. Make your own mind up
on that! Shame because we felt there was a nice mix of Euro-folk which
could become too germanic - towels a

I'm going to tsilivi at the start of July for 2 weeks - can't wait it sounds great! ..but just wondered if anyone knows how easy/expensive it is to get to laganas for a night if we do fancy something a bit livelier?

Me, my husband and 11 yr old daughter got back from Tsilivi on Sunday 15th June 2003 after 2 wks and we had a fantastic time. We stayed at the Admirals Hotel/Apts which was excellent, the staff are realy friendly and the rooms are cleaned every day, there are 2 pools and plenty of sunlounges to go round. Paddy did a great job arranging the entertainment in the evenings and we had a good time at the Greek nite.
The resort was brilliant, we were just a few minutes from the beach which is great and the sea is the bluest I,ve ever seen.
I would recommend Tsilivi to all ages and would definately go back again. The local people are very friendly and the resort is very laid back and relaxed. There are plenty of good tavernas/bars/restaurants but if you are looking for a banging nite life then Tsilivi is NOT for you!
If you want to chill out and see some fantastic scenery then this is the place. Dont forget to check out the Shipwreck/Caves/Turtles etc.

A new bar/club has opened in Tsilivi called Enigma. I was there earlier in the season (18th-25th May) when the club first opened and it was very quiet. By this stage in the season though it should be good. The inside of the club is very well thought out and from what I gather the tunes blast out til about 4 or 5 in the morning. Planet bar is OK for a couple of drinks, so too is Mambo's. You want to be getting to the club after midnight, say about 1215-1230.

i am going to tsilivi, this sun day 22nd jun till 29 th, i doubt a reply will come before i go, but i was wondering about the nightlife, or if there were any big clubs or anything, i have heard planet bar, but that looks more like a smallish place from pictures i have seen, what kind of holiday will it be, lively or just steady? I will enjoy whether big clubs or not, just generally wondering about night life, and maybe prices of stuff lol i am 22

We have just returned from our 1st holiday in Tsilivi (01-06-03 to 15-06-03)and I must say what a great time we had.We stayed at the planus beach apartments and they were clean and tidy but very, very basic the staff were polite and friendly, the pool was excellent and the beach was only 100 yards away.Eating out was great with so many excellent places to eat but our 2 favourite places were zevs a greek taverna next door to ossies bar and the geordie pride which is facing the red lion on the main road through Tsilivi.Keith and Linda who run the geordie pride are a lovely couple who will do anything they can to help you enjoy your holiday, but most of all the food is fantastic (with gravy just like your granny makes). My only complaints about our holiday was the choas at the airport (arriving and departing)queing up in the carpark to check your bags in for nearly 2 hours in 120 degrees temperature and then paying 6 euros for a can of pop and a packet of crisp. The mosquittoes, my wife had over 20 bites to her legs and yes we had plug ins, body sprays and roll on stuff. But my main complaint was the price of drinks in the bars,at planus beach apartments it cost me 2.5 euros for a bottle of heineken lager at the bar but 5 yards away at planus beach apartments mini market it was only 1 euro.Overall it was a good holiday and dont forget if you want some good old fashion british grub then get down to the geordie pride, you will not be disapointed

just got back from tsilivi, stayed at Mavrikos, smashing apartment top floor, excellent cleanliness. best bars Magdelenas (effi, Dennis), Planet (babbis, nikos), good food in the day on the beach at levantinos, great banana milkshake for hangover!!Best food by far Fiorentinas (all home made food) very small restaraunt but worth the wait for a table(next door to jokers bar), Olive tree food too salty poor service, Popeyes ok if you want Cheap food !Best Chinese Red Lion just before you get to Planet bar. Hire a jeep go to Daphne beach and Gerako (Theos car rental all insurance etc inc and damage waiver, english guy will give you tour maps). When we left 13th June temp was 41 degrees and rising!.Fantastic Holiday friendly resort we'll be back !

I bin to tsilivi since i was about 11 and now im 16 all u think about is girls and trust me zante hav plenty of them. I always stay at the Glaros studios next to the tsilivi beach hotel. THe owners sakis and sam are a great laugh. Every nite i go to the planet bar to see our good mates Babiss, Nicos and Ricki. Babis and Ricki are a right laugh and give u free drinks but Nicos thinks he's a player and looks like a complete monkey. If you are a teenage out for a massive chag fest i also reccomend a visit to laganas, just remeber to take your wet suit.

Just got back from Planos Bay apartments - spotless, staff really helpful and friendly, didn't want to come back home, a fantastic island with so much to see, Manos Grill will always be our favourite haunt found it in our last week, so only spent 6 nights there!!! food excellant, staff lovely and food cheap! Really miss Zante and the lovely greek people. Banana beach was the best. Would reccomend hiring a jeep - Europcar at least they have insurance and brakes!!

Just back from 2 weeks in tsilivi and can report that the Smirnoff Ice is excellent, so was the resort, so was the nightlife, and so are the people, only bad thing to report was the airport, you must be prepared for long waits for both claiming your luggage & checking in for the return, this is not just a general moad it really was horendous.
A great bar to visit is Utopia, seek out the mad russian Alexandra and ask her to sing the russian national anthem and tell her Mike & Vikki sent you, your bound to get a free drink.
Our hotel, The Mediteranee, wasn't up to much but who spends their time in the hotel room when your on holiday. Loads of good eating places, Zeus being particularly popular but a bit more expensive than average. Avoid the chinese meals at the Indian/chinese restaraunt near Zeus Yuk terrible but the Indian meals are OK. Watch out for the two ATM's being out of order as they frequently were, nearest one after that is Zante Town!!
All in all, another great greek resort, just don't expect perfection, after all it's their home town and it's not finished yet.
